This video is less about solo q and more that people don't like playing vs nurse. Can't blame em.
-
No interaction with frenzy? There's more stuff you can do with it than many other killer powers. Count down from ten after the first hit. Know where your teammates are. A legion with five seconds in frenzy is gonna behave differently than one with two. Frenzy slashes can be juked.
As opposed to artist who you have to hope misses or leave the loop. Or dredge, leave the loop. Or nurse, die.

The Artist 'crow camping' i don't get, it's just clever power usage. And if it negates OTR, no reason not to do it. And if you're purposely healing under hook against an Artist after unhooking, that's on you and your teammate as well. Assuming you mean this as an example.
https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxG4_pvkRuN7GRFx-Q7HuzW9lSzGfrM9rC
Other than that, been seeing a lot of Saboteur, Balanced landing, head on, boons, a few pebbles (lol) and most of the old meta that's not DS or IW.
This is much more clever than what I'm talking about. I've frequently seen artists place a crow as close as allowed , facing the hook and do a short patrol around while still being able to pressure it. It's rather scummy and I'm glad to see it be more difficult.

I loved swithing it up
I loved using these:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/4W3GLCM5WDLZ/asdasdadsadafsdgsdggs.jpg
And go around the map, getting good items and giving them to the other survivors
but can I affort to do that now? with gens taking 100+ seconds to complete? I can't, I have to bring the best perks now, otherwise my team is not escaping.
There's absolutely no way you were consistently winning with this build. I run the same one for funsies with pharmacy and it's not a game winner. Very cute and fun but you're just dead weight on your team. I've yet to see these mythical 100s gens that are in every game except mine, apparently.

@VoidOfMe said:
are you really seeing a lot of variety on perks?
The only thing I see changing is the exaustion perk. Sometimes its overcome, sometimes it's SB and other times the one you jump off a window and run.
The rest you can count is OTR, BT and adrenaline.
Honestly I have not paid a great deal of attention to my fellow survivor's perks and I've not played killer since the update. OTR is more common but I've also seen many survivors forsaking exhausting perks altogether. That might just be my MMR though.

"I love DBD and I almost always have fun with it regardless of role."
I wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment. I've only been playing since right before Blight was released so I'm perhaps not as burnt out as those that have 4-6 years, but I get bummed by the constant us vs. them debates on the forums.
It's crazy how negative this community is toward a game that is essentially casual and designed for fun at the core of it. Sometimes I get stressed as killer or tilted, but it's not a big deal. Put on a meme build and reque. Folks have to chill out.

I have the same experience as you except I was already using boon perks. I love them.
They felt very oppressive to me as killer so I never ran them. With the buffs to killer I don't really feel bad about it anymore and they are a lot of fun. Feeling like you have magic powers is cool and I've had a couple killers DC cuz I kept relighting the same boon as soon as they stomp it. Pretty funny!
-
Every game? Come on. You either have a very loose interpretation of "tunnelling" or you're being hysterical and hyperbolic over something that happened only a couple of times.

@tamsmi said:
im sorry where did i request that? i said i wanted killer buffs toned down a bit. the only reason im losing to people worse than me is because they are buffed beyond belief
"i miss facing good killers!! killers with good mind games, who knew how to pressure gens, and when you lost to them you could say "he played really well. ggs"
This is the section where you request stronger opponents. I know written recall is not everyone's strong suit, but come on. You wrote the thing.

In general, I don't need my games (which is play, you know... for enjoyment) to make me feel viscerally sick. Who thought at BHVR that downgrading the player experience (albeit temporarily) was a good thing to balance gameplay? How about instead of "debuffing" the survivor through a killer power, you buffed the killer?
Win-win situation no?
And before you tell me "well this is a horror game, it is supposed to make you uncomfortable", where do we draw the line then?
Is it ok to have the screen turn blurry with discordant sounds to start inducing dizziness in you? Oh, wait... never mind, we already have this covered by the Clown...
How about making it so that your screen turns darker and darker to a point where you just give-up the chase to have the killer put you out of your literal misery? Ahhh... bad example, Legion and Plague already got that...
Oh, I know, I know... what if we made something so punishing to the survivor (e.g. prevent them from running, interrupt all their actions - including the one attempting to remedy to the current condition, ...) that they could not ignore it? ... Cenobite... my man!
Dredge's Nightfall seem to be yet another good idea on paper from the Killer's perspective, that yields a bad experience on the survivor side. Unfortunately not one that fulfills the charter of any game which is to provide fun/joy playing it: when the whole premise of the survivor role is that I need to know where I am going to escape a faster and stronger opponent, how on earth am I supposed to achieve that not seeing more than a few feet in front of me? And how am I not to puke my guts out trying to cope with my fast moving camera across the reduced survivor field of view during Nightfall?
I know, I know, a bit of a caricature here (well, maybe a lot), but only to drive this point: you don't have to use negative experiences (i.e. debuffs) to balance the game play, you can use a positive experiences (buffs) on the opposite party.
Is there a downside to it?
I'm sorry that sometimes there's stuff on the screen in a video game.

Fact - it's really difficult to ban all perks across all types of players/killers AND in conjunction with all perks, addons, powers, etc. (not to mention future perks, addons, powers, etc.)
Thus, I believe BHVR needs to become open to banning combos. Like you can't pair thana with pentimento. If you try to put both in your loadout, it gives you an error.
Not the only solution to this problem, just using is an example. We all know there have been some almost game-breaking combos over the history of the game (remember undying 1.0 and ruin 2.0?).
They now have the ability to turn off maps. If they had the ability to "turn off" (aka ban) combos, they could not worry about balancing everything together and take short-term action.
This is such a boring, sloppy and unintuitive solution to a problem that does not exist
-
I'm having fun and equivalent success than I had before the patch. A lot lot more nurses though. Don't know what that's all about.
-
If you're losing to opponents worse than you, why would you want to face people better than the people you can't beat? Absolutely bizzare logic.
-
Just give ten minute base BT and be done with it. Nothing less will ever please you people.
-
MMR seems weird but aside from that my matches are the same as before the patch.
-
I have also seen many more nurses than in the past. I'm not sure why. Folks that play high tier killers are almost uniformly incredibly sweaty and tedious, with a full load out of meta perks. It's a weird mindset.

Yeah I never ran DS cause it was too inconsistent, and DH literally made me play WORSE.
And yeah, it's really hard to go against a good Nurse, but idk if that's a bad thing imo. Her range addons are bullshit tho.
I used to see like a nurse a week but since the patch I've seen maybe a dozen? It gets kinda old loading in, hearing that screech and knowing that you're very very likely just going to lose.
-
I'm enjoying it as well but I've never ran meta perks. I expect most of the complaining is survivors accustomed to DH IW
Nurse is still bullshit though.

If you havent noticed these forums and the subreddit are very killer sided. They make up the minority of the playerbase but theyre the most vocal on the online part of the community and theyve historically made the forums pretty unwelcoming to other players.
Tbf like two years ago the game was heavily balanced towards survivor with the old DS and old keys/hatch, old maps with infinite loops but with each patch over the last 2-4 years theyve consistently given qol updates for killers.
Its gotten to a point where they need to stop catering to the minority of the playerbase because its simply bad business to alienate and piss off 70% of your customers.
Probably 70-80% of killers just want ez 4ks. For them a 2k is not a desirable outcome at all. Even a 3k isnt good enough for them. Many of them dont ever consider that they lost because they didnt play skillfully or because their strategy was poor. Its always going to be something in the mechanics of the game that needs to be addressed, not their own lack of skill.
Theres definitely sweaty survivor players but by far killers make up the majority of players who take the competitive aspect of the game far too seriously. Which is why a lot of survivors for a long time really didnt care about the incremental changes that were happening to buff killers and nerf survivors. The power creep has been slowly been going on for years but now its super obvious that the devs are only listening to that highly vocal minority to the exclusion of anything else. Mostly because theyre super toxic.
Killer players are the most vocal and these forums apparently favor them. Yet look to the front page here. It's plastered with complaints from survivor-favored folks. Do you have such a need to be a victim that you disregard reality?

He is posting a thread to state how unbalanced a build is right now, which is important for forum discussions. The only one only wanting to troll and call atention here is you. Stop being toxic.
It's a thread complaining about the same easily countered stuff on a B tier killer that the hate bandwagon is trying to get gutted. I'm sick of it.

He made a point with the post, you did not.
What's the point? That you can win a game as killer? It's not statistically significant, nor does it mean anything at all. It's one game.
It'd be like if I posted a screenshot of my last escape and said like "wow unbeatable build" cuz I got out once. Come on.
-
The purpose of the update was to increase the power of killers. Now you want to increase the power of survivors? The defeats the whole point of the thing.

You're making me wanna play legion.

why everyone run it then, it's a manual ruin on command and it gives info too, and like everything else in this game it's a lot stronger against solos without coms
Yes, manual ruin is an apt comparison. What made ruin so powerful was precisely that is was not manual. It happens with no input from the killer. With Call you have to go out of your way to kick the gen, hope no survivors are nearby so you get some value out of it, then get notifications from the gen while you're in a position to do something about them.
See all the mitigating factors here? The only reason it's considered a decent perk is because all the other regression ones were nerfed.

@rvzrvzrvz said:
I think only problem is call of brine it's an op perk, overcharge and eruption are fine imo but I don't know if these 3 perks should stack
You know it doesn't do anything if you tap the gen for a quarter of a second, right?

Try reading the post.
I did and it's just the same bland complaints I've seen since day one of the patch from people who are unwilling or incapable of changing their loadouts.
-
I'd eliminate the mini mori altogether and add various debuffs to each level of condemned. Then lower the TV cooldown substantially.
-
I've seen more variety of perks than I've ever seen over the last few days. Rolling back the perk changes would be a dire mistake.

@Viskod said:
I think debuffs to repair speed need to be capped out at 30%
In a vacuum there's nothing wrong with Dying Light, Thanatophobia, Scourge Hook: Gift of Pain, and Hex: Pentimento but being able to combine them to reach nonsensical levels of repair slowdown is well, dumb.
Using a combination of Dying Light, Thanatophobia, and/or Gift of Pain to reach 30% is fine.
Using just Hex: Pentimento to immediately reach 30% is fine because of its nature as a Hex Perk.
But the ease of use when combining Thanatophobia or Dying Light (or god forbid both) with a Hex: Plaything/Pentimento combo is just a miserable experience for survivors, and I say this as a killer who loves Plague and Legion and who has experimented with such a build.
All of that stuff has clear and present counterplay that you simply don't want to engage with.
-
I'm having fun in solo, just like I always have. Be the teammate you want to see.

You act as if camping isn’t a common thing.
Not face camping, no. I played for two hours last night and didn't get face camped once. Folks just remember the times it happens and gloss over the dozens of games where it didn't. It's confirmation bias.
Like if I recorded all the games where I got out last night and made a moronic post about how like "GAME TOO EASY I ESCAPE EVERY TIME" that'd be ridiculous, right? Of course I don't escape every game. Just like how people don't get face camped every game. People see an anecdote that reinforces what they want to believe and go with it.
-
I'm just happy to see variety of perks.
-
I'm sorry that you had one game where you got camped that time, I guess.

I've been escaping solo more than ever. It's weird and I don't understand why.

Thanatophobia is not sitting at max stacks all game unless you're hard throwing.

If nothing else, this update has shown that Killer mains were not interested in having balanced matches, but easy matches. The shoe is on the other foot now, lets see how long that can last.
What are you even talking about? Do killer mains have some sort of council that issues these proclamations that I don't know about?

Actually, what I commonly see is a Killer main claiming that survivor is easy and needs to be gutted. I saw one yesterday where JimbusCrimbus, a notorious kill-sided forum poster, was talking about how easy survivor was for him after the update.
Are these supposed killer mains writing from the perspective of a survivor player? That's what annoys me about these posts. The attempt to deceive.

People are thinking about the 10 seconds in a vacuum. With 4 stacks of Thana, those gens are 115 seconds. Even if we don't account for four Thana tokens, what was previously a 3 gen chase is now a zero gen chase. And then the inevitable secondary gen regression kicks in, like Pain Res, Call of Brine, etc. Those extra 10 seconds are causative of additional gen time on top of that when the killer has stacked slowdowns. People are asking whether 90 second gens are reasonable when this patch is actually posing this question: are 120+ second gens reasonable?
Why are you just sitting around letting the killer have full value from their perks? Botany was buffed. Use it. Circle is still very good. Use it. If you run healing perks you can make it fully worthwhile to heal even vs. Legion. I'm torn that people don't realize this because it makes my legion games more enjoyable vs. the hate bandwagon inevitably getting my favorite killer gutted.
-
I escaped four games in a row last night, which has never happened before. Adjust your build for something new.
It might just be that MMR is broken, though.
-
I genuinely don't think it's working. I escaped four games in a row last night. That's remarkable for me, I've never gotten more than two outs in a row. The killers were...... Not good.

I mean, doesn't the opposite apply too? Resurgence and Solidarity aren't strong enough that it's fair a common effect completely negates their existence. Considering how many perks and addons Hemorrhage is part of... I think it'd be more important to protect them from Hemorrhage than it is to protect Hemorrhage from a couple of almost never-seen perks.
I'd appreciate Blast Mine and Flashbang having their percentages tweaked too.
No, because the game is not a seesaw. The experience is an asymmetrical one. Killer perks and debuff should be more impactful than survivor ones because they only have four compared to sixteen. If a survivor perk blocks a killer one it's gotta either have a limited application or activation requirements. That's why I'm fine with resurgence countering hemorrhage until the survivor is healed; There's a limiting factor. The game is not tit for tat.

@dbd900bach said:
I think the part of the issue lies in camping sometimes having a loose definition. A lot of people consider camping to be when the killer is in the same general area as a hooked survivor or a more accurately a killer purposely staying in one area to gaurd a hooked survivor.
The definition becomes loose when a killer knows that another survivor is in the same area. Is it still camping? Is it still camping when a killer is actively chasing someone else who is looping near the hook? What about certain situations in endgame where the killer feels forced to camp because they're sitting right in front of an open exit gate?
Similarly tunneling has the same issue. If a survivor unhooks at a bad time and the killer downs the unhooker but then immediately gets an opportunity to down the unhooked, should the killer let go to be a nuisance later? Sometimes a survivor just gets unlucky and the killer unintentionally finds them a second time. Should the killer avoid them to simply avoid the notion of tunneling?
There really is too many situations where the definition becomes loose and killers use both tactics to get ahead in the game. In certain situations they outright lose for simply avoiding these tactics.
This. People don't have an agreed upon definition of camping. What bothers me is that staying near the hook is often justified.

I wish Legion was all about stealth and deceive rather than this. Imagine working on a generator with Dwight and in just one second you see him put on a mask.
It wasn't dwight.
I certain everyone that plays and enjoys legion would love to play an entirely different killer called legion who doesn't have a power vs. grouped survivors.
-
I always have fun vs. legion. If you split up they basically don't have a power and they're imminently loopable, unlike nurse or artist or what have you.
-
Hemorrhage is not even that strong of a debuff that it needs a direct counter. If it didn't regress resurgence untill fully healed that'd be good, but nothing needs to completely nullify it.
-
I would have preferred base Corrupt, but honestly something needed to be done about gen times.
