  • I'm so so sick of reading the same deranged hyperbolic statements from people over and over.

I already posted that math: (This is at maximum strength of course)

    80s gens. Old thana = 80/0.80 = 100 seconds.

    90s gens New thana = 90/0.78 = 115.5 seconds

So a net total of 15.5 seconds.

If you're curious how the math works, the 0.78 is the survivor repair speed (1 charge a second with the debuff penalty)

This is with full stacks which rarely happens. A surv or two will heal when they see the debuff. They'll cleanse when they see the debuff. It never stays at 4 stacks for long.

Base BT has literally never done a single thing for me. If the Killer wants to wait 5 seconds, they can easily keep pace with you.

Ya, that's what loops are for. You go to one.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3098854#Comment_3098854

hard tunnelling is now completely impossible with tunnelling in general made harder

That's completely untrue. 5 seconds of base BT is useless and DS got omega-nerfed.

and the grind reduction benefits everyone too

Grind changes benefits older players and makes new players have to go through more of a grind. Also, the ######### bloodweb tax is ridiculous.

The base BT has gotten me out of a couple games I haven't otherwise. I dunno why people keep poo pooing it. It's useful. Not meant to make you invincible to the killer for ten minutes

Right on the "grind reduction" though.

You mean you haven't been hard tunneled and camped 9 out of 10 matches (where all five gens are also left)?

Oh wait, neither have I, or anything even close. Like you, I've been having as much fun as ever playing surv (yes, solo) over the last week.

Yeah no. I'm pretty sure people that squeal about that don't know what tunneling and camping are or are outraged that they get stuck back up on the hook after bodyblocking post-unhook. My games have been completely normal with more aura perks than previously. Also a hell of a lot more nurses, which is not ideal

  • What disaster? I'm having more fun than before with the reworked perks. And I get to play my favorite role, survivor with much faster queues and I suspect better matchmaking.

  • @jesterkind said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3098744#Comment_3098744

Not really, it reduced the grind very noticeably and then as a side effect, introduced a much more minor grind of a completely different type that only affects a handful of killers. That's not a redirection, and it's definitely not sleight of hand since it doesn't seem intentional.

The actual grind - IE, spreading perks across multiple characters - absolutely got reduced. There being another thing that needs addressing doesn't take away from that.

That grind is a temporary one. At some point a new player will have all the perks they want and need and are still left grinding for items and addons, many of which are just as useful as any given perk. If one skips the perks for a couple killer releases then they'll be right back where they began on the bloodweb treadmill with little overall gains.

The system is a poor one, I suspect by design.

  • @jesterkind said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3098639#Comment_3098639

    Okay?

I wouldn't be against adjusting the rarity scaling for post-prestige, but the worst case scenario is that some killers now have an addon grind where one never existed before. That doesn't mean that the current system isn't quite good at reducing the grind that already existed and caused problems before.

It merely redirected the grind. It's sleight of hand.

  • Hard meta, yet I rarely see it in my games and the streams I watch. Odd, huh?

  • @zgameboy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3098627#Comment_3098627

Pretty sure you can still learn teachable perks can you not ?

Ya, that's what I did. It's in the post. Unfortunately in order to get the teachables I had to prestige and then go unlock them on the survivor I actually play. It's literally worse than the old system.

  • @jesterkind said:

It's definitely a lot better, since spreading perks across characters got noticeably easier.

I think the next step is to just give players more bloodpoints. On the PTB you got like, a million BP per day, and on there it was really obvious that if you have bloodpoints to spare it greases the wheels to make the system function near-perfectly.

Obviously players shouldn't need that much again, but better score events, more avenues for extra BP, and other such tools would be an ideal next step to help this system flourish.

Since you have to grind through trash bloodwebs in order to get the stuff you want players will inevitably end up with way more lower rarity addons and items than they used to. That's fine for killers like demo who's best addons are lower tier, but what about doctor who is very unpleasant to play without shock delay addons? It also unfairly hurts killers who's iri and purple add-ons are key to their viability. Imagine going through 50 levels of bloodweb and not getting a single iri remote? Absolutely devastating. I want to use the stuff that makes the game fun more often than once every thirty games, especially with the RNG inherent to dead by daylight.

  • It's literally worse for me. I had to prestige mikeala to get her perks when formerly I would have just gotten her to level 40 or whatever. Then I had to find and upgrade them in my bloodweb just like teachables. Feels awful.

  • I'm sorry that you had uhhhh..... Two bad games. Out of five? Not even half?

  • @BrokenSouI said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3098100#Comment_3098100

Na. Only immature minds let something like clicking or tbagging or getting hit on hook effect them emotionally in any way.

Without rewatching it. I assume I played bad enough. And they played pretty damn good. That I probably lost 3 gens early. So at that point its decided. That I'm just going to get someone out as soon as I can and hope for a snowball.

Instead of what I normally aim for. Which is get my down in a reasonable amount of time and go away

There's nothing emotional about it. A lot of survivors just want to be chased and don't care about doing gens. I take clicking or pointing at pallets to be the universal sign for it. Those games are frequently the most fun for me, cuz I get to chase a good survivor and maybe learn something.

  • @KayTwoAyy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3096604#Comment_3096604

    Doesn't solve the problem.

    ---

I played against a Blight earlier today running Compound Twenty-One and Adrenaline Vial with Deadlock, Dead Man's Switch, Pain Resonance & BBQ.

I was first chase, and it lasted a minute and a half.

I was tunneled off of first hook.

OTR helped me loop the killer for an additional 45 seconds.

    DS bought me 3 seconds.

Dead Hard bought me another 30 seconds.

I was tunneled off of second hook.

I didn't have DS anymore and DH doesn't work in Deep Wound.

I died 5 minutes into the game.

    3 Gens were done.

My team did gens the entire time I was in chase (they were very efficient).

I had every second-chance perk a survivor could ask for, and in my experience... Blight and I would have been considered evenly matched. We both made some good plays, we both made some mistakes, I'm pretty sure my chases are about the length BHVR would expect for an even match-up.

Aside from the fact that I'm tired of this boring gameplay loop game in and game out, it is clearly not balanced. This always ends in a 3/4k, because the killer can be carried by passive gen-regression/stalling perks, and the massive defecit survivors face with a 3v1. The "just do gens" argument is anecdotal at best, and should not be used as a counter-argument towards trying to make DBD more fun and engaging for all envolved.

P.S. If you want video evidence, you can watch back the trial from the killer's POV here:

    https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1544576706?filter=archives&sort=time

It was the first match of his stream, and it starts 21min into the broadcast. No hard feelings towards this gentleman in particular--my beef is with camping/tunneling in general.

You clicked at him and asked for a chase. You got it. What are you complaining about?

  • @drsoontm said:

The killer cannot tunnel everyone at once.

Doing the gens may be a way to punish him? (aka "pressure")

You'd think they could judging by old DS.

  • Ah, I see you want to put killers back to square one. A brilliant idea.

  • I'm just posting in support of the op. Nothing else to say.

  • "The opposing side in a PvP game plays in a way I dislike, so I am leaving"

....... alright then. Dunno what you expect, killers to run territorial imperative with no other perks and just watch you do gens?

You're right, I misspoke. Generalizing is absolutely irrelevant, I totally agree! My fault ! 😣

There are survivors who are great, others who are terrible.

There are killers who are great, others who are infamous.

(I'm talking about the people playing, not the characters)

Your example of the window is very interesting, and precisely, if you manage to brain her in this kind of situation, it may not mean that you have completely destroyed her mentally, but it still means that she will have made an error in judgment, and that in the end, it will have allowed you to escape! ☺️

And in the end, yes, you will have been stronger than her, because the succession of actions you will have done will have led to the defeat of her two tp 🤗

Thank you so much for being civil and attempting to see my point. I'll try to good about little success in my future games vs her. Can't DC every game.

Gee, it's almost like coordination in solo queue is impossible! Who'd have thought?

Impossible? How? Watch what your teammates are doing and adjust accordingly. I've taken hits for teammates marked by ghost face many times. The other day in the Game a mikeala got unhooked downstairs, I followed her grunts and bodyblocked so she could get to the exit gates. You know how many times I've ran rescue trains to get the last surv out? All of this stuff by your admission is impossible. It seems I'm a miracle worker instead of a mediocre survivor.

  • @Beatricks said:

It happens pretty much every single match, but at least 8 out of 10. Don't get me wrong, the game had some pretty bad days before, but nothing even begins to compare to what's going on now.

This is categorically false. I've been watching hardcore survivor and haven't seen a single hard camping killer. I also don't see them when I play.

  • @MommyHunktress said:

yeah ik and he had a 3k in my match because he did it at the start and instead of trading he tunneled and the other guy just gave up and with longer gens.... plus solo

Yes even with longer gens if you trade with each person taking their time on hook you'll get them all done. In this scenario the longer gens times are not of consequence.

One of the most annoying things to me is survivors feeding killers that do this extra kills by giving up. All they have to do is hang on and let their teams bang out gens and trade when they have to. I've had a few teams that know this and it's always gratifying.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Yea, the whiniest killers love to scream about the survivor rule handbook until they go hoarse.

It's actually more a sin of the Gaming Handbook really. Intentionally taking the ability to play away from your opponent is regarded in all games as scummy, no matter how much said individual needs to validate themselves through the power rush lol

It's why games like COD and Battlefield try to curb spawn sniping.

It's why building games can block griefing and player block damage.

It's why territory games give you a 'home space' that can't get taken away.

Its why MMOs have PvP restricted servers and options.

Because it's not okay for two people to pay for a game and one to be able to hold the other hostage and unable to play the game. End of Story. And oohhhh the killers will jump on me in here shortly with gems like:

"🥸🥸🥸The devs say camping isn't taking the game hostage" in ever other game it is though, that's my point.

"I don't have to make the game fun for you"-says the insecure killer that demands the survivors do everything that makes the game fun for him alone.

"Get Gud" from someone who can't get a kill without using said tactics.

"Just quit playing" says the one whose also made a post on the forum whining that the lobby times are too long for them.

I posted this kind of post on a FB thread and got legitimate death threats from a killer main that took his role a bit too seriously.

Anyways, I'm rambling. The fact is that the devs need to do something about camping and tunneling, and soon. They can't keep asking people to stop nicely. It's not working, and with this new patch it's only gotten worse. I'd point to the demise of Deathgarden, but maybe the devs don't want to see the comparison there yet.

None of those games you cited are asymmetrical.

OP in that circumstance all you have to do is trade and do gens. The killer will probably get a 1k, but whatever.

"The only killer I disconnect against. It's just pointless to keep playing after you hear that screech."

Here is the legendary courage of the survivors in Dead by Daylight ... everything is explained 😁

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3094563#Comment_3094563

"She's OP asf, needs poor practice and with 6.1.0 patch came out, you have all the time you want..."

Ok, so I invite you, since you don't seem to play nurse, to show us about 50 games where you "take your time" and still do 4K 😁

Of course, it has to be against experienced survivors, if you fall against survivors who can't play, it's too easy.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3095078#Comment_3095078

    EXACTLY.

That's why it makes me laugh to see some players come in and complain every week that the bad nurse is too strong, without wondering if the problem might be 1) that they are just bad against her and 2) that they are not on a coordinated team. But hey ... too much ego, I guess.

Why do you need to get in a dig at "survivors" as a general class of player? I hate how idiotically tribal this games's community is. It's the worst part about it.

As I've posted before, I play 70/30 killer and survivor. The issues surrounding nurse are obvious to anyone regardless of biases.

Imagine I fake a vault at a window. The nurse overblinks and lands on the other side of the structure. For any other killer this category of mistake will extend the chase a great deal. Nurse? Nah, she just hits her second blink and hits me anyway. The entire counterplay to her is breaking line of sight and moving weird. It's not engaging, it's not enjoyable and it doesn't make me feel like I'm getting the upper hand on my opponent, it just feels like they're guessing wrong until they don't.

  • @MikeyBoi said:

There’s far to many killers in this game that hardly take no skill to play, eg: Myers, Pig, Legion, clown, Trapper, Wraith etc.. Giving 2 stacks of STBFL and 10% brutal strength base kit after nerfing meta survivor perks what seemed broken to the majority of inexperienced killers is a bit overtuned imo.. DH was really the only perk that need to be addressed. Playing those killers with a very low skill ceiling combined with the current meta is really no different from old Freddy, easy to play, simple kit with more boring slowdowns to make most games take far too long..

Ah yes, all those no skill low B-tier killers. It's really easy to end chases and win games on every killer you named.

I love this "its changed quite a bit" then proceeds to go on about how old slowdown is replaced with new slowdown lmfao, that sure is "shaking up the meta" meanwhile the closest thing survivors have to old DS is OTR which is still not even that good lmfao. This update is completely one sided.

....... Yeah, they said in the patch notes it was one sided. That's the point of it. The new regression perks and their counters are completely different than the old ones she survivors have been given new tools to counter them. I used to run repressed alliance to soft-counter Pop and that obviously ain't happening any more.

The guy who lowers his MMR as AFK wraith, I'm sure they do.....

Where do you get this from?

  • Yes, if you ignore all the different perks that people are using, the meta hasn't changed at all. Brilliant observation.

  • Yes. Why is this? 80% is an obvious exaggeration and only detracts from the observation, but there are so many more nurses than previously. The only killer I disconnect against. It's just pointless to keep playing after you hear that screech.

  • I think it just takes a list of words that are banned and algorithmically adds accompanying words to the filter. So if you say something like "cussword Jane!!!" It'll add Jane to the cussword association and you can't say Jane anymore.

  • Shrug. Play survivor. I've always just played whatever role gets me into a game the fastest. I never thought I was uncommon in this respect.

  • @tendyhands said:

Lets say they made gens take 30 seconds to finish. Then the top most skilled killers in the game would only be able to beat baby survivors. Please try thinking before posting.

Tendyhands is a really good name.

I'm trying to clean out the new tome, but after three hours of SoloQ I realized something. It's genuinely not entitled crying and overblown exaggerating. SoloQ is literally unplayable. SWF or play another game and support devs that care about their players I guess.

I finished the survivor challenges in the new tome. It wasn't that hard. You're absolutely blowing how difficult solo is out of proportion, if it were "unplayable" folks like me wouldn't be doing well.

  • @EntitySpawn said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3093250#Comment_3093250

Right? Funny thing is you can still easily beat legion If everyone knows how to play.

I'd rather a longer game than an imbalanced one imo, even with the update I'm having survivor games do gens fast simply because everyone is pushing gens and the killer doesnt have instant regression

It's not even that much longer if the survivors have brains and hands. Have none of these people played legion vs a decent team? You'll never get more than two chain hits if you're lucky. If you're not then your power is "get one health state, then m1 killer" cuz the other survivors split instantly and they're not going to permit you to chain hit.

  • It's really depressing to think about the crippling nerfs legion is gonna get.

  • Certainly a good way to absolutely butcher a perk that's merely good on precisely two killers.

  • I've escaped more than I have in the past. I think the increased killer pool is giving MMR killers that I can actually beat.

...... Or it's disabled or broken and I've been getting by on random chance. Maybe I'm doing better because I never adhered to the meta? There's a lot of variables.

  • The odds on this are way worse than pig's. Also if she throws the entire game to do this...... She still has to hit you twice. You get hit once, return the tape during her attack animation and the entire gimmick does nothing.

  • This is one of the most boring, one-note characters in all of gaming. I hate him and all the awful characters accompanying him.

  • @Crypticghoul said:

Behaviour should remove deep wounds from Legion's frenzy until they can come up with a more fun rework/change imo. Absolutely nobody wants to play against them.

Hi hello. I do. Legion is fun and rewarding to play vs. Unless you're on a tiny map you shouldn't be mending more than a few times. Run away as soon as you hear the tr during frenzy. Count down the frenzy timer. The counterplay is so so simple but people would rather give up on hook than learn how to play vs a killer.

  • Can't wait for this insipid hate bandwagon to get my favorite killer gutted.

  • @Fantasy said:

I think not being able to stockpile strong iridescent/purple addons went into the design of the new bloodweb. You shouldn't be able to use a red addon every game. More often than not when I face a Spirit they would be using Mother Daughter Ring because they get one every web or two, I don't mind the change.

That's cool for spirit or whatever who are fine without addons, but it excludes like trapper who needs addons to do incredible stuff like "carry another trap" or onryo who's addons do stuff she should just have base. It's unfair toward killers that are already subpar.

No because most people aren't running it to win by it's strength. They figure that Survivors will just give up and if they don't, they'll suffer through a 30 minute game.

Seriously. The Legion we had last night just kept using Frenzy to force us to Mend. Filthy Blade + Defaced Smiley Pin with Thana, Overcharge, Eruption and DL.

Absolutely miserable and this is exactly why I thought Legion should be reworked.
