I like it. It's thematic and fun. I wish flashlights had more utility.
-
I've been using it but never did before. Easier to execute than I expected.
-
Legion's my favorite.
Least favorite that I own? Artist. Games as her feel very unfair.
-
I'm having fun with the game regardless of what side I play.
-
I'm having a great deal of fun with it. Sounds like a you problem.
-
How's this stop you from using the TV while she's menacingly moonwalking at you?

How would clown differentiate the bottles in use?

I dunno,I would defo run this. I think you're not encountering as many medkits as a lot of people do or don't realize how powerful they are.
This will make medkits, much, much slower when used for self heals, essentially negating green medkits. We'll make it and juiced medkit setups on other survivors are basically negated with this.
The slight vault speed reduction is also pretty nice,it will give you a small edge in some chases.
Also I think you missed out on the gen slowdown being secondary.
The gen slowdown is secondary to you maybe, but it's the most important part of the perk. Survivors are not constantly healing, it is not their objective. What they are doing constantly is gens.
It's effectively -20% heal speed when self healing. Basically disabled by having a teammate heal you. Pointless.
-
You can cleanse penti, dying light takes half the game to kick into gear and doesn't effect 1/4th of the team, gift of pain is not permanent and requires a scourge hook and thana is dead even on the killers it was formerly good on. You'll see this soon.
If you cap things like this one gen perk will be the best one and you'll just see that every game. Then you'll throw a fit over whatever that is . Killing perk synergy and making killers one one dimensional is a good way to kill the entire role.
-
So it's basically -7% gen speeds, while capping healing at 80% speed self heal, 150% other people heal.
You understand this does absolutely nothing, yes? It's furtive chase tier. 7% is inconsequential and 80-150% healing speed is still extremely fast. On top of overriding penti for some bizzare reason. No one would run this.
-
You can't kick a regressing generator with pop, so I dunno your issue. You can't just butcher perk synergy cuz you don't like how people play. It'll make the game one dimensional and uninteresting.
-
Looks like you just don't want killers to be able to do anything about gens.
-

Are we really sure it is a nerf for plague? Because the survivors have to cleanse to deny you your full thana slowdown. So thats one more damage puke for you to use. Reducing the slowdown from 20% to 6% with one cleanse is quite a big incentive for cleansing, imo.
It will mean that she's basically always going to have at least one fountain if the survivors want to deny her that perk. So it's gone from being decent on two killers to just being a plague perk.

Wouldn’t that be a direct nerf as it now replenishes a token for every single great?

Shadow Step if you want an AOE
Well- no. I'm talking about a deficiency in communication and teamwork that can be covered partially by a perk. I can't tell them that they need to get into locker or that their auras are being shown when they lock a locker or anything of the sort. Short of being able to express this to them, I should be able to protect them to a degree. The function is different from boons, which simply provide a rallying point with varying levels of protection.
-
If you wanna make a thread complaining about killers playing killer, make a thread about that. What's hatch got to do with it?
-
I agree completely. I feel like I've been arguing at a wall with people who have powerful and unshakable convictions that one should never heal vs. Legion.
Of course you can heal vs. Legion. So long as it is efficient to do so! Denying an entire killer perk slot at the cost of keeping one person uninjured is very much worth it. And not even difficult in any way.

i didnt think i would have to clarify that you cant use those six perks at the same time, and you can use differente combination of those six.
Have you ever played a thana legion with sloppy? even if it does not affect directly to gen repair speed, it will affect you if you have 4 thana stacks and everyone has mangled effect. It is really not that difficult to see
I've never played vs. a thana legion with sloppy, but I have *been* a thana legion with sloppy. Sloppy isn't that great on them cuz it only counts on the final hit. I prefer brutal or bamboozle. Legion's weakness is in chase and it's better to cover that however you can.

Thing is, it puts survivors in a position where they can either waste time or waste time. Healing is pointless versus Legion (aside from doing risky hook saves) because you can't really avoid the first hit and they can find you so easily, so while the reward isn't as tangible as Corrupt Purge, telling survivors to heal is still benefitting the Legion. Especially when any medkits run out. Unless the Legion is really flopping, they're still going to get good slowdown out of Thana, one way or the other.
It's not pointless if you can make it efficient. Legion doesn't magically fly to your location as soon as you're healed and immediately injure you. He's gotta frenzy then catch you and in the meantime he's not getting any value out of thana. Then if during chase with you a single ally heals he's back to square one with thana value.
So it's just a matter of efficiency. Is it efficient to keep one survivor healed in order to deny an entire killer perk slot? Of course it is. Especially with how fast heals are with buffed botany and Circle.

@Rovend said:
The problem was not thana by itself, it is the slowdown meta.
Maybe you can play against thana, but when thana is combined with gift of pain, deadlock, sloppy, eruption, jolt, pentimento, it can drag games to an absurd amount of time (+30min) as i believe there is no set amount for how much you can stack repair penalties. and thana was the easiest to proc out of all slowdown perks
I know that when I play killer, I put those perks in my uhh... Six perk slots which I definitely have.
I also like how you slapped Sloppy in there for reasons.

The issue is that Thana Legion and Plague are barely any weaker than before. Thana was a pretty average slowdown perk on everyone else; it wasn't bad, but you could get more mileage out of gen regression perks. So this didn't really change the meta for anyone.
It's worthless on legion now. There's medkits nearly every game and all a survivor has to do is bang out a 10s heal to deny an entire perk slot for the killer. That's assuming that survivors just don't leave as soon as they see mend. Most of my chain frenzies are 2-3 targets which doesn't benefit me at all anymore.
At least plague gets a fountain out of it.

30s of DMS, 45s of POP a blight can easily pressure gens with DMS and guarantee a POP, I am main killer, and I know that combo will be ridiculous op on some killers, maybe u are brain-dead, I tried to see de best for everyone, survs and killers
Luckily pop doesn't do a whole lot anymore, huh?
-
They didn't buff a single regression perk except jolt.
-
It's cute how people think thanat is still viable on legion. It's not.
-
@Beatricks said:
I can't believe I'm saying this, but Scott Jund put it best. It's still oppressive on the two killers that used it most often and completely useless for everyone else. Maybe less Nurses and Blights will run it, but Legion and Plague will still be a complete nightmare to go up against.
Why? Heal once vs legion and it's essentially disabled. This is not difficult. At least plague gets something out of survivors denying the perk.

It's certainly easier to deal with for swf survivors than for solo survivors. Which already makes the perk a bit problematic.
Yes, I do remember where I cleansed my totems. But increasing a gen from 90 seconds to 128 seconds is beyond ridiculous. It's too strong, definitely.
What did you do when Ruin was a perk if you think penti is problematic? It's effects were stronger and activation requirements non existent with the same constraints.
-
@RbLen said:
Oh great idea. Except you missed the part of SOLO QUE honey buns <3. Coordinate this with your random team mates is not always possible and you still haven't even mentioned anything about the perks lack of usefullness on other killers. If I wanted tips I would have asked for it laddie. There are better ways BHVR could have adressed the problem of "Thanatophobia feel a little oppressive, especially when paired with other slowdown perks" as they stated.
Sick of spooky scary solo queue being the source of all the ills in the world. You're one fourth of any given team. If you're a good teammate then you're almost halfway to having a decent team. I try real hard to be a good teammate and I have had some stellar teammates in solo. If you make good decisions then that has a big knock-on effect for the match.
So yeah, cleanse once if plague has thanat. It's not brain surgery. If someone else already has: then don't.
-
@FFirebrandd said:
Seriously... this was literally the exact opposite of what they should have done with Thana.
Nobody besides Legion and Plague could use it because nobody but them could consistently have enough people injured for its numbers to get high enough to matter.
They should have made it so the first "stack" gave 8%... then each additional stack gave half the effect of the previous. So 8 + 4 + 2 + 1 = 15%. Overall weaker but so much better for every killer besides Legion and Plague.
Now I'm not sure if even Legion and Plague will still use it because it is absolute garbage unless everybody is injured.
So what, still a nerf over original thanat? Why?

Legion pin makes thana still very viable on legion & people already don't know how to cleanse against plague properly so this will be a nightmare tbh
I'm certain people can figure out that keeping one person uninjured basically disables an entire killer perk. They killed it. It's dead.
Also 99 your mend.
-
Dead perk on everyone but plague. At least she gets something out of survivors denying it.
-
@Beatricks said:
So killer ques are almost PTB length because people really don't want to play survivor and they...nerf survivor. Absolutely genius.
Is that what happened? Did you read the same post about thana I did or did you just gloss over that and go straight to Mettle, which nobody runs anyway?
-
You can't have it that way cuz it encourages hard tunneling. They should have just messed with the percentages instead of butchering it for every killer every plague.
-
It's ok, we're slowing sliding back into the old meta. I'm sure it'll happen soon.

The only killers who used Thana consistently before are the two that can easily injure and maintain injures. How much it gives at three survivors injured is only relevant insofar as a single heal is easier counterplay than everyone finding the time to heal and do gens.
Like I said. I'd like to see it be more useful across the board, but this maintains its current use case while addressing how obnoxious it can feel. It's fine.
No, it doesn't. All one survivor has to do is cleanse or heal and it's back to 6%. 6% is 1% more than you got for a single stack previously. Do you think it's difficult for one survivor to cleanse? For one survivor to heal? I main legion and I'll tell you: I every survivor on the map doesn't become and stay injured as soon as I push m2. The perk does nothing unless all four survs are injured and that simply does not happen.
-
@jesterkind said:
I'd still personally like to see Thanataphobia completely reworked, but this ought to stop it from being obnoxious- the same killers are gonna want to use it, that's not changed, but at least they have to commit to injuring everyone before they'll get anything that noticeable.
I'm alright with this, it seems like a perfectly acceptable response to the problem.
They killed it. 6% for having three survivors injured? That's nothing.
-
You hold m1 on gens until you win the game. Nothing about this has changed.

I'm also really glad they nerfed camping and tunneling by asking the killers to stop it nicely and giving us 5 seconds of base kit BT. what an effective strategy.
So glad that we aren't seeing such a massive spike of face camping in the game, considering the increase in gen times allows the killer to stand around with their thumb up their arse and get a 3K. Could you imagine? 😑😑😑
The game is so fun an healthy now, look and the lobby wait times 😂😂😂
I haven't seen any of that stuff. Like no face camping outside of endgame at all. Base BT has saved me from like a dozen huntress hatchets. Maps are still so safe that if you can't get to a loop with haste and 5s of invulnerability you're doing something wrong.
Oh, emojis. 🤯🤯🤯

How do you tell what is Devour apart from a Pentimento or a Plaything Totem?
Penti totems look different than hex totems. Presumably devour is getting found instantly, as it's tradition.
-
You only do devour and ignore plaything. Also you can see the boxes without needing the aura. It's not hard on most maps.

Huntress in a ballgown? Bless but you're being conservative and not keeping her culture in mind.
The skin I'd want for her would be like Snegurouchka - don't know how to spell it in english, but at Russian New year she is the grand daughter of Father Frost.
And the costume would be hilarious to see running through Coldwind.
I love this!! It looks like so much fun. Give blight the father frost outfit, his cane would be perfect for it!

Maybe that build is decent right now, but you shouldn't need a "go-to" build to be successful. That means there is a problem. Ideally, everything should be viable. Choices should be based on preferences and what playstyle is fun for you. I am not interested in doing a detailed analysis of all the perk stats on the wiki and building an optimal combination of perks or something. I just want to have fun. The game should always prioritize fun over everything else, and just because it is an asymmetric struggle between a killer and 4 survivors doesn't mean it can't be fun for everyone involved. Right now, it seems like BHVR is trying to "balance" fun because they can't figure out how to make the game fun for both "sides". This is causing problems. Any specific build that is stronger than others may help people be more successful, but it doesn't help fix the issues or make the game more fun.
...... What? There's always gonna be a meta. True and perfect balance is a nice dream, but expecting everything to be perfectly balanced is impossible. Every video game works this way.
-
I just escaped three games in a row. Bubba, pinhead and huntress. I've been getting way more consecutive escapes than I did previously. My go-to build has been Shadowstep, Circle of healing, Dead Hard and a wild perk. Botany or windows or spine chill.
My assessment is that people sleep on Shadowstep. It's an incredible perk. Denied so much Nurse's calling, floods of rage BBQ and bitter murmur value. I even got to deny that hatchet addon that reveals auras which felt really good.
-
.......no. I'd just play something else.

aaaaand what do you want me to do about that?
Please can someone give me ONE good reason as to why I, a solo queue player, should sweat my absolute ass off in a game just so we can all get 4k'd at 4 gens left because the killer ran 4 slow downs??
Nobody ever gives me a valid reason.
"You not wanting to sit through a 30 minute solo queue game is the reason solo queue will forever be dead."
I'm flattered, really. But I think the fact that killers got buffed to perform better against SWFs while solo queue got zero buffs or quality of life updates is the reason solo queue is dead.
But no, the problem lies with the players for wanting to enjoy the game and totally not on BHVR for neglecting the majority of the players who play solo queue lol. Y'all are so unserious.
"B-b-b-b-b-b-but what about your team??" And what about them? Idk those people. I'm doing them a favor. The sooner we get out of slowdown city, the sooner we can all move on to another match.
It's because you can win those games, you little weirdo. Slowdown perks are not the end of the world.

soo , even if you say that , at the end of the match or during the match survivors already know most likely what perks are you running .. i dont undestand how this will change something about YOUR "fun" just play whatever you want and dont care about what other people say, also there is no voice chat or text chat during the matches soo WHY?😐️
No, they don't. Nobody knows I'm running deception head distortion unless they're following me around. People will see my bad perks that I enjoy and they'll throw, they'll give up on hook and blame me. This will happen. You've seen the people that play this game. They're the most hostile community I've ever seen and I played dota for years, for Christs sake.

"The game is no longer fair to both sides after this patch" ----------------->🤨 so we need back faster gens and broken perks?
Solo Q needs a buff for sure, people need to undestand that , the changes purpose was to stop the dumb abuse of gens speeds / perks that were making survivors strong even if they were bad at looping or doing teamwork , now with the nerf to gen speeds and the buffs for killers , only not having in mind (NURSE/BLIGHT addons those 2 definetly needs a nerf with the new meta) , survivor needs to care more about doing gens while someone gets chase and viceversa if you get chase them the best you can do is last a minimun of 30 or 20 seconds for your team to get more gens done , going down in less that 10 seconds is just a punch in the face for your team (Not counting Nurse again because stars truck is fair an balanced right?😒)
the reason why people think , that this patch was a mistake , is mainly because solo Q survivors are throwing matches once again because playing without information , and also they no longer had E to outplay, pre droping pallets is less efective so that doesnt work anymore , all of that combine just makes the problems of Solo Q even more visible but this doesnt mean survivors are unplayable or the game is badly balanced, for dear god we just need basic stuff to make solo Q more in line compared to SWF and nothing else.
1) Base kit kindred w/out the Killer aura reveal.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/KRH2WC9VK8KE/image.png
2)being able to see what perks our team had and how to use it in our favor. (only while on loading screen or pressing escape in the match for god sake dbd mobile has this common!!!)
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/YDUSNNA59MSF/image.png
3) and for the love of Nea , using the new HUD for finally something good like Icons, and information for Solo Q players:
Those hud icons are excessive. People don't understand that they buff swf a great deal as well as solo. They give a vast amount of information that folks on comms don't always communicate and cut out the possiblity of miscommunication entirely.
Also I don't want people to see my perks. The last thing I need is the awful people playing the game haranguing me over the perks I'm running. I don't run the meta. I like to have fun.

Not for this kind of pushback, this is the biggest pushback I have ever seen in DBD.
Being quiet and weathering the storm is not the right call here, hiding and waiting is not the right call.
At this stage i would be happier for them to come out and say if they are ok with the results of the changes and the feedback.
Yeah, because there's way more people that play exclusively survivor than killer. So the volume of complaints are going to be much higher due to the changes negatively effecting folks that relied on extremely powerful perks like dead hard and iron will.
-
All the slowdowns got nerfed and all of the remaining ones have clear and simple counterplay.
