Good luck with spreading in solo with latest Buffs.
You, as one fourth of your team, has a lot of agency regarding this. Play away from other survivors.

Those buffs didn't really do a whole lot. Legion pre-patch still plays largely the same as legion post-patch. It's still legion, with barely a power if survivors spread out and split once they hear the terror radius.
It's wild how people complain about legion now when they're essentially the same as they were previously. In fact chain hits are harder to get without the duration addons.

Why do you need a claim when we have common sense.
"Why would you need facts when my feels are just so strong?"
-
I'll play whatever side has the fastest queues. People who heavily prefer only one half of the game are weird to me.
-
@Biscuits said:
For the people in here calling this a stupid idea. Would you rather they nerf Legion baseline, or adjust some of the addons or perks that are making his kill rate sky rocket right now.
Just curious
You got any data to back up this claim?
-
Neither of those things are free. Plague has to find and infect survivors which takes time, legion is on a timer to get health states and is easily countered by thinking survivors who split up. Arbitrarily restricting perks is just unintuitive and unnecessary.
-
It'll be way better to deal with with a more restrictive dead hard.
-
That's really interesting. So it's an early game perk. Very clever idea!
-
I think everyone agrees that survivors could use more blood points regardless of whether they main one side or the other.
-
A lot of maps have unpatrollable exit gates for most killers. Even without hatch you can wait for the killer to go by and open the other door.
-
They literally buffed BT and gave base BT+ a speed boost. They gutted meta perks on both sides. Tinkerer is dead. Ruin is dead. Pop is dead. Come on.
-
Presumably people who love attack on Titan
-
They increased the BP cap then added a tax if you want to keep spending BP every fifty levels. Just bumbling aimlessly around.
-
I really really don't want people haranguing me because I'm not using their perk of choice.
Those ping ideas are coming in the form of the teased icons. I think they're going to see how the gameplay adjustments they're about to implement play out before adding them. They're really insanely powerful if you think about it, for solo and friends.
-
They should have nerfed meta perks now softly and reworked and buffed the perks nobody uses.
-
You bizzare prestige people will never be happy.
-
Yeah, it's back to being pointless. Oh well.

Rate of accumulation. Today, you continue on with infinite level 50 webs with varying addon rarities. The new system starts you back at level 1 with mostly common and uncommon.
Now, the Dev Update did say they will look into node rarity for prestige characters in the future. But that won't happen this mid-chapter.
The nebulous and ill-defined future. Took them like a year to turn the million BP cap to 2 million in a database somewhere.

Have fun with repairing gens for 4 minutes and getting tunneled out the game within the first 30 seconds!
It takes longer than thirty seconds to find, down and camp out a survivor. What are you on about?
-
Oh no, not spooky scary legion. They're gonna getcha!

killers really be out here complaining after getting major buffs
I reckon after people stop using dead hard they’ll complain about sprint burst being op lol
Nobody cares about sprint burst. It's not oppressive. You're not hugging survivors from behind for five minutes, you're not trying to guess which of the five spins you should swing on, nobody is sprint bursting through traps or projectiles.
The counterplay to Sprint burst is you follow the survivor for a little longer. That's it. This is not a problem.
-
Iron will was incredibly busted. It's not gutted, merely good now. Off the record is still very good, it deactivating at end game doesn't somehow make it terrible. New dead hard needed adjustment, one second is forever and it effectively played the same way as the old one. About to get hit? Push E for a free sun win. Now you'll have to time it. Oh no.
I see you think survivor perks should have been buffed, for some reason. The devs said they were over performing and nerfed them accordingly. I'm pretty sure basekit BT and speed boost is way bigger than people will admit. But if it was anything short of twenty seconds of invulnerability folks would still complain.
Oh yeah, I see you never actually run distortion. I do. I've had many games where it doesn't even proc cuz the killer doesn't have any aura perks. It's a good niche perk and any token generation is welcome on it

You can heal but then Legion injures you, again. Either way is a pretty big waste of time.
Not necessarily? If you play away from your team and just count down from ten when you see someone go into mend you can pretty consistently avoid being injured. The only time with you're very very likely to get injured is if you're the first frenzy target. If you have good positioning it's mostly doable to avoid.
-
@Advorsus said:
I think it'll still do what new DH was supposed to, which is be a niche perk that's specialized to affect certain killers more than others. Mainly the ones with tells or wind ups to their powers.
The increase to 1 second of invulnerability led to the same issues as before where it timed properly it could still be used to guarantee safe pallets and windows due to the travel time within that 1 second. So the Nerf wasn't really helping the weaker killers as much as it was originally intended.
Is the perk a catch all use in every build perk now? No. Is it still good in certain situations? Yes. I think it's more just geared towards specific builds now instead of just being an every build perk, and is much more in line with other exhaustion perks now.
The exactly. The new dead hard was used in exactly the same way as the old one and was annoying in the same way. I don't want to hug a survivor from behind for five seconds to see whether they have dead hard. It's obnoxious.

Here's the thing, and I really had to think about this for a while and from their perspective.
They can't just reduce the grind a lot and increase the BP gained at the same time. You'd end up with no grind or sense of progression.
You also can't increase the BP you gain by a large margin and then take it away later when you realize it's too much. Everyone would riot and lose their minds.
Their removing bonus BP from perks because they don't think it's a healthy way to gain BP in the game. Agreed.
But they're adding bonuses and penalties in a controlled way so that they don't give too much to where it completely nullifies the grind. Because once they give it, it can't be taken back without major backlash.
So they implement a bit at a time to see how it holds up in live servers. Not enough? Reduce the tax, or increase the queue incentives rates, or give a slight bump to post match BP earned. And you do this little by little until you get to that healthy medium.
May not be the greatest thing in this moment, but may be healthier this way in the long run for the game.
They're only reducing the grind if you want every perk. If you don't care about unlocking every perk in the game, it's an Increase in grind

Healing against a legion is the worst thing you can do.
Uh huh. That's an old trope. If you heal vs. Legion with thanat, and if you can make the heal take less overall time than it took them to find and injure you then it is very wise.
Sitting on 4 gens with full thanat is about the dumbest thing you can do vs. Legion. You're not gonna win games vs them with that ideology.

That assumes people run Botany Knowledge. They gave it massive anti synergy with medkits which I'm pretty sure will dumpster the perk.
Like I'm legit feeling that current day Botany is just better.
I'm not sure. Medkit addons are pretty generous and a fast heal is very powerful in this game. I'm not sure how the math works out.
-
If a pinhead, a rarely seen killer, with the specific addon is circumventing your BT...... simply break the chains as the unhooker or bodyblock the initial chain. That's it.
-
You can now dead hard while corrupt puke is midair. It's the same counter as before, maybe better if your timing is decent.
Legion? I think they'll suffer a bit. Easy injuries mean very little if the survivors heal fast enough to not make it a time deficit. Botany knowledge got a huge buff and I don't see survivors staying injured for more than a few seconds.

The killer can easily bait out .5 seconds and you can't use it on pallets or vaults.
It's dead
Time it on a huntress hatchet or trickster knives. It's still good, you use it exactly the same way you did old dead hard. Get the killer in a position where they have to swing into your dead hard or give you a vault or pallet. You just have to time it with your brain.

Not really?
You don't need Brand New Parts of Styptic Syringes or whatever. A basic medkit will do you fine for self healing, especially complemented with perks, and a basic toolbox is still plenty useful.
Again, the developers have mentioned that they'll be looking at bloodweb rarity distribution, so all I'm doing is pointing out that the worst case scenario is you use some things that are just good instead of the best options available for a little while.
I don't really use that stuff either. Fun fact: I have never used a brand new part for the same reason I don't run meta perks. I feel they're unfair and I am no hypocrite.
What I like is taking a purple medkit with good add-ons and being team medic. What I like is taking a flashlight with double duration addons and giving killers long blinds. It makes me chuckle. Do these things win games? Rarely. But I always have fun and the items facilitate that.
In a couple months when my stock is depleted all that ends. I'll try it out, but it's honestly the kind of thing that turns me away from a game. I left dota after the 7.0 update for similar reasons and I left Overwatch for also similar reasons. It might just be new game time.
-
Dead hard is still good, you just have to time it better. With the last validation update it rarely has problems.

Well, you won't lose your current stock of addons, so you won't be in any immediate danger.
Most killers have perfectly serviceable (and in some cases objectively superior) low tier addons, too. I think you'll be fine.
That's cool. I play survivor just as much as killer. I like having items and addons on surv. This hampers them just as much or more than my killer games. It's just a bad change. Indefensible. There are thirty better ways to handle this than this clumsy implementation.
-

...How could you know that before they come out? Maybe an upcoming character will have incredible perks.
I think you're being a little overdramatic here, friend.
I haven't wanted any of the perks in the last like five chapters. They're either boring meta perks(pain res) which I do not run, or they literally do nothing or are situational to killers I don't play.
Like yeah I'm being dramatic but I'm honestly distressed. I play low tier killers that are extremely add-on reliant.
-
@jesterkind said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3056913#Comment_3056913
Well, that's not strictly true. The prestige for perk thing makes it so any new character they release doesn't give you a giant retroactive grind because all you need to do is prestige that character to get their perks on everyone else. It's still much better for you in the long run than the current system.
As for high rarity addons and such, I'll abstain from commenting because truthfully I don't think that's a bad thing. Still, it's been noted by the devs that they're looking into it, so perhaps they agree with you.
Dude I don't *want* the perks on the new characters. I don't care about them. For me, this increases the cost of getting the stuff I want substantially.

@Mozic said:

It's reduced. It's been mathematically proven repeatedly.
What folks are not really getting is that the emphasis for the economy rework has been about making perk acquisition significantly easier and more cost-effective, with costs offset into other areas. It will benefit the community health immensely to make it easier for folks to unlock their perks on everybody without the cost to do so spiraling out of control exponentially (see the original post where they said it takes about 4h of gametime per day to spread all new perks to all characters per chapter compared to the about 1h per day now).
Things like the prestige cost and the removal of BP from WGLF/BBQ are offsets to help control the amount of relief that redesigning the economy to treat perks as more accessible than before (rather than on an approximately even playing field with everything else)
It's reduced for people who want every perk. I have every perk I want, I don't care about prestiging. For me I now have to work through the terrible low level bloodwebs, gamble on the stuff I want being in the higher tier bloodwebs, pay the tax and do it again. This costs way more BP than the current system where I just ignore prestiging cuz I don't care about cosmetics or a sparkly badge.
-
@jesterkind said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3056895#Comment_3056895
I considered that myself, and I think if they want to keep the prestige tax it should only apply to prestige tiers that give you a reward. Prestiging after 10 should probably be free at bare minimum, that's where I'm leaning right now.
Like I have every perk I want. The prestige for perk thing changes nothing for me except making it vastly more expensive to get higher rarity addons and items, because n they appear less in lower level bloodwebs. So I'll have to go through those awful bloodwebs, then have maybe 30? Bloodwebs that are decent before I pay the tax and do it again.
This is awful. Apocalyptic.
-
@jesterkind said:
I think I can see the logic- it's spreading the perks across all characters, so you're paying for the guarantee that you won't need to farm that tier of the perks in question anymore. 50k was just WAY too much.
I still don't think it should exist, but making it something you can feasibly earn in one match is definitely a lot less annoying. My hope is they'll revisit this decision after a while and just remove it entirely, but for now it's manageable.
But after you get those perks they're irrelevant. You'll still want items and addons. This decreases the initial grind, then you're paying more for forever after.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
Nope it's now mandatory have fun spending 20k BP every 50 levels ✨

It makes him a much easier to use, chainsaw bro. Any survivors with a brain arnt letting a booba get multiple downs in a chase. It mostly happens when camping.
What is your suggestion for nuking his camp potential ? While leaving his chase potential mostly unchanged.
I don't have any suggestions for it because I don't think it's relevant. People squeal incessantly about "camping and tunneling" when I rarely see true examples of either.

Yea. Bubba does need changed. Which is. His saw just stops after the first down. It wouldn't change his chase potential. While lowering camp potential.
Then he's just hillbilly without the mobility. Multiple downs are central to his identity.
-
Nope. Looks great.
-
Nope. It was arguably barely nerfed with the endurance effect. Still incredibly potent vs. huntress and trickster, tacitly disabled lunges.
Now you'll have to time it better. Oh no. Skill. Learning new things. The horror.

no, it's garbage now. do you even play this game??
Yes. When I run iron will it literally feels like I'm cheating. It was ridiculous and all survs use it for is reinforcing the most boring part of DBD: breaking line of sight and holding W in loops.
75% reduction in audio is quite good. It makes your location way less certain. There's an otz video testing it vs. spirit and it still gets value.
-
Survivor perks can and do stack. Healing speed? Move speed? Come on.
Also ruin is terrible. It shutting itself off is irrelevant, they halved the effect for a perk that's often gone within the first twenty seconds of a game. Get a grip.
-
I'll still play it and enjoy it. These hysterics are embarrassing.
-
Iron will is still good and will still help with this.
-
When people like OP say they're being camped and tunneled I wonder exactly what's happening in their games. Typically when people say this stuff they have a real loose definition of camping and tunneling.
-
This is a very cool and thematic idea, but I'm honestly not sure trickster needs buffs. He's oppressive on maps with low loops and much weaker on maps with high walls. This doesn't really cover his weaknesses and make his strengths feel more fair.
I'd suggest it ends as soon as a survivor is downed and the spotlights flicker on and off. There could be an addon that stops the flicker even. It's still activated automatically?
