Biggest Winners With Meta Changes
Alright, so what is everyone's prediction on who the big winners are?
Legion: the upcoming changes to Dead Hard, Thanatophobia, and Endurance/Deep Wounds is going to really make Legion shine.
Plague: the biggest counter to Plague was Dead Hard for distance and it's just gone. Thanatophobia buffs benefit the Plague as well.
Ghostface and Pig: Spine Chill nerfs will make them more effective at middle MMR.
Comments
Spine chill nerf benefits Michael, Sadako and Wraith more as well
Wraith especially considering spine chill let you make distance on him as he's zooming toward you
You can now dead hard while corrupt puke is midair. It's the same counter as before, maybe better if your timing is decent.
Legion? I think they'll suffer a bit. Easy injuries mean very little if the survivors heal fast enough to not make it a time deficit. Botany knowledge got a huge buff and I don't see survivors staying injured for more than a few seconds.
That assumes people run Botany Knowledge. They gave it massive anti synergy with medkits which I'm pretty sure will dumpster the perk.
Like I'm legit feeling that current day Botany is just better.
Biggest winners: Anybody running Borrowed Time.
I'm not sure. Medkit addons are pretty generous and a fast heal is very powerful in this game. I'm not sure how the math works out.
*spine chill nerfed*
Me a premonition user: oh no, any way
Botany Knowledge (by itself) would be taking the heal time from 16 seconds to 12 seconds. But the survivors would have to be grouping together, which is good for Legion.
Medkits somewhat counter Legion by giving a reliable solo-heal. And with Botany Knowledge getting a hit to efficiency a medkit that would heal twice will now heal once, etc. So it'll mostly be a no-change for how impactful medkits are versus Legion.
Overall, still really good for Legion.
LMAO xD
So firstly, Legion is hurt less by fast healing than any other spread damage killer except Plague. No Perks or items in the game exist that makes mending go faster. In addition, unless Survivors bring permanent ways of healing in less than 10s, they're still benefitting from healing happening.
As for Botany, the main issue is that having it equipped will dumpster any attempts to self heal with medkits because you'll run out of charges before you finish. Seriously, with this perk, brown and green kits aren't full heals anymore. Purples aren't 2 heals. Yellows will need far more than just brown bandages to hit 2 heals. The green charge add on isn't +1 heal anymore. The one singular medkit charge amount that isn't divisible by 8, the yellow gauze (12), isn't strong enough to fix any of this where it matters. It's *bad*. I fully expect Botany to be dead after this update. Why bring Botany when medkits are stronger, more convenient, usually enough, and Botany actively sabotages your medkit?
Botany Knowledge can also stack with We'll Make It, Boon: CoH, Desperate Measures, Medkit bonuses, etc. for some even faster heals.
Healing against a legion is the worst thing you can do.
Uh huh. That's an old trope. If you heal vs. Legion with thanat, and if you can make the heal take less overall time than it took them to find and injure you then it is very wise.
Sitting on 4 gens with full thanat is about the dumbest thing you can do vs. Legion. You're not gonna win games vs them with that ideology.
Only time to heal is with than besides that just go slam gens.
Wraith, because of perk buffs. They just work great with his faster kicking addon.
I just realized. With the Enduring change, you won't be able to avoid Legion's last Frenzy Hit. So now both Legion and Deathslinger ignore DH completely
I don't see how a really good Nurse or Blight player could possibly lose a game now.
Big W for all M1 killers really.
You can heal but then Legion injures you, again. Either way is a pretty big waste of time.
didnt think about that๐ฎ, as a legion main this puts a smile on my face
no more missed attacks because of 1 perk or styptic to tank hits while in deep wound. hell yeah๐
Legion and Plague are definitely not winners as nobody wants to play those matches anymore against them. Why would anyone want to play a potential 20 minute match? Playing survivor will now just be even more pain in the ass with all those stacking slowdowns, even more tunneling as its all defenses are crippled, camping being more popular as it now probably can even ensure a 3k. And killer are the loser as they wont find any matches cause of high players loss on survivor side. this patch has only losers.
I'm willing to bet we'll see a lot of Botany Knowledge + CoH for pure healing insanity
Not necessarily? If you play away from your team and just count down from ten when you see someone go into mend you can pretty consistently avoid being injured. The only time with you're very very likely to get injured is if you're the first frenzy target. If you have good positioning it's mostly doable to avoid.
They should buff that to show the killer's aura for a bit, if they're within a certain range while out of chase
Players who can adapt to the changes
The perk changes will only effect players... not Killers
The Baseline changes are going to be the most apparent. I know the values are small but anyone familiar with this game is going to feel it. So the more M1 a killer is, I imagine the happier they is.
