What you've described is the classic phenomena known as the Prisoners Dilemma. Sable's invocation creates that exact situation within a team by pitting teammates against each other by how their time is best spent trying to escape the trial. Hit the nail on the head.

Bro you literally made me Google prisoner's dilemma ( I love learning new shiz). That's a crazy concept. Thanks fr. This has nothing to do with op but simply acknowledging the intelligence that might of been missed even if only be me.

I'd say this encapsulates killer right now. It's severely handicapped in the current state. You're absolutely correct in that a killer could choose to bring zero perks and still get over 2K without needing to resort to skill-less tactics (i.e.: tunnel, proxying hooks, etc.). I play killer with perks and it's incredibly easy to get 3-4K without said tactics. Plus, you usually end up getting more points out of playing "appropriately" and more likely to double-pip.

I've played more survivor games than killer games the last 2 weeks and I must say, out of let's say… 40 played survivor matches, without exaggeration I'd say about 5 were with a killer that didn't tunnel or proxy hooks. It's getting out of hand and horribly unenjoyable.

Man I almost exclusively play killer I'm trying to p100 huntress at the moment, I absolutely hate the games were people give up and I don't get my hook states and the much needed bp. I could careless about the pip system honestly it doesn't mean anything at all to me and winning is so subjective that I stopped caring a long time ago. I guess people expect tunneling so they just assume the worst and press next.

If you ever see a mordeo huntress that's just throwing absurd hatchets it's probably me, I'll play serious to 2 hook everyone and then just practice trick shots. Occasionally I'll kill a terrible teammate for the teams sake ofc.

  • I mean as a huntress main did she need buffs absolutely not, were the live version buffs op na bro not op just not necessary. They didn't make bad huntresses better in any way. Kill rates are a terrible stat honestly they should be looking at hook states. If I 4k but I essentially only got 4 hooks then that's a L. If a 1-2k and I got 8-10 hooks states that's a dub and every one probably had the match of the week. Hook states determine how well a killer played not kills, playing for kills will always lead to tunneling because you still get 12 hooks if you kill someone.

The most you should be rewarded for a single hook state kill is 2 hook states at the most. I would prefer a single hook kill showing only a single hook state when it's all said and done. That way sandbagging teammates, camping and intentional first hook suiciders aren't padding the stats. This might not directly deter tunneling, but at least we can see what killers are actually overturned.

I would also say that an average of 9 hooks would be healthy seeing as how you can get 8 hooks without killing a single player, let's be honest someone has to die lol.

  • I mean I rock no perks and win most of my games. The ones I lose are due to the other team being better( which for some people is hard to admit) or making too many mistakes on my part. Blaming gen speed is just wild. In most of my matches(perk less) the only reason gens fly is because I've messed around and practiced a power at a loop or something.

Tunneling is such a weird word right now as it's very subjective, everyone has they're own definition of it. If you can't win without it then do you, there's no clear cut win condition in this game unless your tallying points at the end which I don't think anyone does. As long as you can live with yourself then who cares. It doesn't make you bad at the game either, but it will hender you in terms of over skill expression. Same is true for any strat or perk that you rely heavily on to win. Which is why as soon as the crutches are taken away you hear the moans and whines. Tunneling may not be here forever my friend and when that rug is pulled the fall from grace is gonna be a quick and hard one for a lot of people.

  • As a huntress main if I might lend my fresh experience. I have been playing huntress exclusively for around 6 months or so. During this time I've only played using her basekit and iron maiden for quick reloads. I can assure you 1000% in no way what so ever did huntress need any buffs at this point (outside of better locker placement or more lockers which would also benefit survivors as well). Before I felt I had to really plan my hatchets and it also made some loops hard to hit while chasing due to the slow wind up ( which wasn't an issue felt that it made it fair). Now I can immediately throw 2 free hatchets before I even think about being meticulous with them.

It doesn't seem like a big deal but after playing for so long you tend not to miss a lot when your focused. It is a huge deal when you can literally hit every hatchet and effectively down 3/4 and injure the last. Now add the increased wind up basekit and it just gets stupid honestly. Shots that I used to feel good about hitting now feel cheeky and meh.

This was a buff that very minutely helped young huntresses with throwing hatchets with the faster raise and more hatchets for mistakes (not hitting them) and massively helped those of us that were already decent. Both buffs already existed as add-ons which was fine because it worked like training wheels, you had to choose those over better more effective add-ons and then when you got better you could take them off and play around with all the others. Now we can have those basekit and not only choose the other add-ons but we can stack them. I can't possibly see a logical reason why huntress deserved buffs at all let alone before Freddy, Myers, and plenty of others.

  • Bro!!!! After my huntress I'll be on the uphill climb with Freddy I know it's gonna be brutal but I'm ready for it

  • Wth is this third floor you speak of? I swear everyday I come to the forums to learn an old but cool AF piece of the game was removed. Why did they remove it if you didn't mind me asking?

MMR used to be super strict, and I don’t remember any large win streaks happening at that time. In fact, the Nurse win streak streamer couldn’t get large win streaks either, and I think that person pretty much stopped streaming.

In fact, a lot of the killer streamers stopped streaming killers, and either switched to survivor, or just stopped streaming DBD. It didn’t help that some of these streamers had massive queue times, which wasn’t good for streaming content, as they risked losing streamers out of boredom.

Then BHVR purposely made MMR less strict, and purposely made the queue times less. And then the win streaks came back, and the Nurse streamer came back too.

But a lot of killers streamers never came back, or they’re still streaming a lot of survivor content. Many people made it clear, that if they can’t win most of their killer games, that they’d just rather not stream.

You know I was just thinking about this while watching a certain nurse win streak steamer Sunday. I wondered if the crazy 500+ streaks would be possible if mmr wasn't so lazy or lax.

I mean the streaks are impressive in their own right I guess, but to me unless I know I'm going up every match against the parallel of my skill a win to me wouldn't count. Meaning for me if I'm facing solo q teams with at least 1 person below 2 k hours the win can't be attributed to the streak ( yes I know that you can't always see hours). So since theres no way of definitively telling who your getting each match the streaks would be invalid anyway.

If I'm at the top of mmr you know that <5% of all players and I only vs other people in my bracket every once while then it's totally possible to attain those super high streaks because it might be a seal team comp squad once every 500 or so matches( could be wrong here didn't watch all the streak matches so they could've faced comp squad way more often). I've never given the streaks much credit due to this fact. I see them as more of a click bait thing and community viewer thing.

I wasn't around for the super strict mmr days, and you're the first that I've seen mention it with regard to these streaks as well.

would be nice to see your teammates load out in the match loading screen, oh and certain perks showing an icon when someone is trying to use it and has it . ex someone trying to take a protection hit with mettle of man or some icon showing a teammate is on hook with deliverance

That would be simple enough, I mean seeing loadouts of other survivors is something that swfs already have and always have had. It's not basekit and does absolutely nothing to disadvantage killers.

My brother in Christ this a matchmaking problem not a tunneling problem. New killers when matched with new survivors stilll will not be successful in tunneling as neither is going to know what is going on. The issue like I stated is with matchmaking. There's not a competitive multiplayer game thats been out past 5 years that is going nice to beginners once again because of matchmaking.

I can totally get behind this. I've never even considered this. So I agree! We could get into matchmaking now, but it's totally on BHVR if this is where we end up.

Also, as a vet player, tunneling is still an issue because it seems to be all I get anymore. I played 2 hours yesterday after work and out of the 8 games I got in, 5 tunneled right from the start. 2 spread hooks and 1 was new or something. I gave them my life.

If anything, I'd like to have less tunneling. Variety and all that. Plus skilled killers are always more fun than the dime a dozen peasants :)

edit: at work so cant fully reply. But ty! Fresh perspective is nice.

Oh of course I'm not advocating for hard tunneling as I don't tunnel myself. I also know when some one is new I purposely let them feel out what to do. I as former nurse main I've learned that there's more to the game than winning. While tunneling can be a valid strat it becomes less effective the better the survivors are.

Yeah matchmaking is terrible which is why I tell most killers to let matches go, if you get bullied the next team isn't to blame because they're more than likely gonna be a solo squad with way less hours.

I hate that most of these post are just black and white us vs them instead of actual productive discussions.

The lose of bloodlust basekit would suffice and raise the skill expression of killer as well. Let's be honest the only killer that would suffer is hag who should be 4.6 anyway by now.

A tunneling killer will waste so much time tunneling a good looper. However in reality a majority go down in 20 seconds max if not less.

But the argument goes they will find the weak link, and tunnel.

Tunneling sucks for newer survivors I get it, it used to drive me crazy as well but it's also bitter sweet the more your tunneled the more practice you can get at looping and chase, and that's a fact you can't get better at looping if your not being chased or only being chased rarely. Having this positive outlook turned something negative into a positive for me and made it less of a annoyance and more of a personal practice per se.

A new player who gets tunneled a few times in their exploratory time with the game... will not continue playing the game. Tunneling has zero place in a new player's lobby. Not sub 5 hours lol.

"A new player who gets tunneled a few times in their exploratory time with the game... will not continue playing the game. Tunneling has zero place in a new player's lobby. Not sub 5 hours lol."

There's not a competitive multiplayer game thats been out past 5 years that is going nice to beginners once again because of matchmaking.

The learning curve from newbie to mediocre at this game is around 500 to 1k hours and that's being generous. At this point in the games life being new your gonna get you teeth kicked in every bit of that time because there aren't enough new players to be matched with consistently.

The fact still remains that against GOOD survivors tunneling just isn't effective. Nothing will stop hardcore tunneling aside from making the unhooked invincible, but even then people will still tunnel the weakest and that survivor will always die first as they should.

This game will never be friendly to newer players simply because they make up to small of a percentage of the player base to be properly matched with like skilled players. DBD isn't still alive due to the constant influx of players, its here because we are all guttons for pain and there's nothing remotely close that even begins to scratch that DBD itch. You can't balance a 7 year old game for new players I'm sorry just not gonna happen.

Now that new players have been addressed, how in the world do competent survivor mains get out played by tunneling unless they're not as good as the the player they're going against.

What people should be asking to get rid of is blood lust since a vast majority of survivors according to this forum can't loop long enough to prevent tunneling and blood lust solely closes that gap between a god looper and bad killer it's no longer needed.

Because we can all be honest here a tunneling killer can't be bad at the game and still win IF the survivors are good right?

  • @Hermit said:

A tunneling killer puts no pressure on gens. If survivors are too afraid to do gens, well...

Yes, killers can bring perks to delay gens, but survivors can bring stuff to speed up gens, extend chases and increase survival.

A killer that wants to tunnel will always keep an eye on the hook and a hook stage takes 60 seconds. There is no need to unhook within 5 to 10 seconds, especially if the killer is still near. There is also no need to heal directly under the hook, get some distance and heal inside the next jungle gym. Even killers that dont tunnel immediately will return to the hook if they dont find anyone else.

Why does the killer not find anyone else to chase? Because even nowadays in most matches 2 survivors are instantly hiding near the hook as soon as the killer picks up. Again, no gen pressure. And dont try to convince me otherwise, I've been running Bond nonstop for over 6 years. Stick to your gens!

One last thing, survivors are at their stongest at the beginning of the match and WoO is the most popular survivor perk. There is no excuse to hide for minutes at the start until the killer finds someone else, this is lost time to pressure gens that the survivors will never get back. Somebody will get found, use this time when you are most powerfull.

Against decently experienced survivors, a hard tunneling killer should get one kill, maybe another during endgame. But one survivor dead at 4 or 5 gens, that's the survivors fault.

    This is really facts!

The problem I've noticed in my games is that most survivors suck with the one skill based interaction that they have with the killer and that's looping. A tunneling killer will waste so much time tunneling a good looper. However in reality a majority go down in 20 seconds max if not less.

I can't tell you how many matches I've played recently with people that I've hooked being unhooked and tea bagging or clicking just to use their bk bt or decisive and then get mad when I hook them again. Or the unhooker who turned out to be the better looper just runs and hides instead of taking chase.

I learned that most people do not want to take chase after the unhook which screws the hooked person over.

To further prove your point I watched a super popular content creator today play about 7 matches he hard tunneled in most of them and in the first 4 he only got 1-2k the others where similar until he switched to his main, while he was hard tunneling one surv the others were just smashing gens, the saves all came either before second stage or just a tiny bit earlier. Thing was after the save no one healed under hook and at least 2 to 3 gens popped within seconds. Some were solo and some where swf. Thing is they all understood the game and the assignment.

The problem is with solo q and how you can have 10k hour killer playing against 2 500 hours or less, 1k hour, and 4k hour survivor. Obviously this doesn't happen all the time but it happens enough to make tunneling valid at high levels. Any equally skilled group of coordinated survivors should be able to heavily punish a tunneling killer, the only way this doesn't happen is if your not as good as you assume you are and the killer happens to in fact be better. The same goes for killers that cry about WOO, distortion, adrenaline or any other good but no where near op survivor perk.

Yeah I'd like to test out the effect on matchmaking quality without having lobbies at all. It gets rid of so many issues like Prestige dodging, sifting through profiles, last second surv swapping, etc. so their system would finally have a decent shot at working most of the time. That benefit alone outweighs several boxes or flashys in one lobby imo.

Then they can show whatever they like post game, even who was in a SWF group.

I like this opinion as well. I think it'd make everything easier and much faster no waiting in lobby just queue up like the joining match screen then go straight to the match loading screen.

I mean either way doesn't affect me because I don't dodge anyone ever. I could care less if they want to bully or gen rush or sabo every hook. I know that it would definitely help out others I've watched multiple streamers dodge lobbies due to crazy things like surv names to items and ofc prestige.

  • @DreamSequins said:

But then killers wouldn't have free kills, which is extremely problematic.

I mean is it really free kills, as survivor you still lost chase twice and got hooked? Some accountability is needed on the survivor side. It's not like he froze you in place and insta downed you and teleported you to a hook while chasing someone else. Camping a hook isn't free because your giving the others free reign to do gens. Lastly not all camping is the same, camping egc and at 5 gens are 2 very different things, with very different outcomes.

  • @Nazzzak said:

My understanding regarding "crutch" perks is to simply ask yourself: would I be able to play to the same success if I used something different? If the answer is no, then your perks are probably crutches. That goes for everyone btw. It's the reason I change my builds up frequently and never stick to the same perks for too long. I want to naturally get better.

This was a great explanation! I usually run one or no perks unless I'm doing a daily then it's meme or bp boosting perks. I feel like if I can't consistently win without perks then I suck with said killer. That's just me though.

next the want lockers gone, they are too OP because survivors hide in them

For real it's really disappointing how often I see killer mains whining on here, we're in a amazing place imo albeit I didn't play at launch. I mean it's high time we let the survivors get something's to a least make solo q fun and challenging. I swear killers just want free downs with no skill expression these days.

  • Wait are killer mains really whining about WOO? It's a perfectly fine perk as is, it does not increase chase time at all. Just because a perk is chosen the most doesn't mean it needs to be nerfed. This is wild to me and I'm a legit killer main like 99.7% of the time I'm choosing killer.

  • As a sure fire huntress main myself. She didn't need buffs honestly. Yeah she's 110 but thats the downside of her being able to throw hatchets literally anywhere. You complain about indoor maps and I get it but they require me to play differently and also require super precise shots and perfect angles, it takes a ton of time to learn them but once you do shes still leagues above most of the M1 roster.

Huntress was in a great place honestly, as we all know you can't use "high MMR" as a argument to warrant buffs, as the player base that's truly at high MMR is so low compared to the rest. Most think they're in this high MMR bliss and theyre simply not.

The only thing I'll advocate is more lockers/better placement and less clutter which is better for everyone involved.

Indeed, quite a few perks rely on lockers and they counter aura reading perks. Its a win-win.

Yeah tbh I don't dabble in survivor a lot but that being said it would also be a shadow nerf to uw which while small would still be a welcome step in the right direction.

  • Yeah exactly what these guys said. I can't tell you how many hatchets I've thrown got the sound and visual blood splatter only for the survivor to remain healthy. It sucks but it happens.

  • @GroßusSchmiedus said:

She is pretty much perfect, the biggest problems of her aren't even her own fault, but poor map design, same as Dredge.

Couldn't agree more, everyone is getting annoyed by clutter and locker placements can be annoying on both sides, i use flashbangs a lot and would like to see more evenly distributed lockers.

That's true to better lockers and in more places would benefit survivors too didnt think about that

  • I was just thinking about this, not quite a 4k hours vet but I have about 200-250ish (maybe more) hours solely playing her. More lockers in dead zones would be the most ideal, and for the love of everyone declutter the maps.

I hate being on haddon field and having to walk all the way into one of the houses just to get a hatchet.

It's like they don't consult with any of the people that have spent literal thousands of hours playing a killer ever. I mean for the beginner huntress's maybe this will be good but for the seasoned Huntress this is gonna be crazy.

  • @Xernoton said:

I've never been tunneled as a P100. Billy is simply too fast. 😘

I don't have any survivors on P100 but I find it weird, that killers would tunnel the P100 of all survivors. Wouldn't it make more sense to tunnel the guy with low prestige?

Na you know if you played killer for a while 7/10 times the p2 Dwight is a loop God, and p100 claud is trash. All jokes aside most seasoned killers are used to seasoned survivor movement so they play accordingly while the p2 Dwight movements are sporadic and unpredictable because he doesn't know that the tell he's doing

  • I think it also plays into her character, She stalks her prey, catches it and then secures the kill. It's what any intelligent hunter would do, why would you give up your damn near dying deer to chase a completely healthy smaller deer into the fog.

All jokes aside it's due to her hatchets, I mean a good huntress can camp you from almost anywhere when they've mastered hatchet throwing and orbitals. I can hook someone on the street in front of the house on goj and go and stand on the roof and snipe everyone coming for the save. She just excels at camping honestly and people are gonna want to play in a way that fits her style.

  • Huntress

Iron Maiden: I hate reloading and it's crazy how many people will jump in lockers to avoid hatchets.

Nothing they do is going to work until they implement a point deduction for every 1-5 seconds spent inside 16m and not in a chase or using insidious. With kindred, you can see when some goober stands still before they fade. Even if you don't have it, when it's been nearly a minute and no one else is in a chase, if should be assumed the killer is being lazy.

People aren't camping to get points anyway so that wouldnt work either. People camp and tunnel because they want to win the most efficient way possible against alutristic teams. Both are valid strats. If the haste value immediately when hit off hook was greater then bubba wouldn't be able to follow up with another chainsaw sweep. As it currently works bubba can instantly just down both the rescuer and the person unhooked because hes faster than the BT haste.

  • Ace because of all the surv I've played against all the aces were cheeky bastards and I do means always, so for me who is also a cheeky bastard it just fits.

your point is solid! i am one of the veterans of this game and i see precisely what you're talking about. in addition to my post above, i noticed too that the variance of personal experience tends to be a strong driving factor in a lot of these posts.

Yeah I lurk here a lot like it's kind of embarrassing how much. But what I've seen is that the vets have done everything on both sides and can see the big picture, they've had to adapt different and new strats sometimes subtle other times drastic. Those experiences allow them to favor the overall health of the game versus they're particular killer or survivor perk/item. It also allows them to remember the things that were better in past. I always look at post count regarding game balance issues, for us newbies a balance recommendation that we have may have already existed in the past and didn't work out for whatever reason or has been talked about before I think most of us forget this game is 7 years old and people have been playing everybit of that time.

  • @Krazzik said:

It's nice that you're trying to be a 'fun' killer, I used to be like that too, but everyone who plays killer long enough eventually goes through 'the change'. It'll happen to you.

All killer mains if they play long enough see themselves turn into the villain if even for a short span, some never revert back.....

  • I think that it depends on the amount of time spent playing the game. To me it seems that most of the vets 6k+ posts seem to have the most informed recommendations as they should theyve been around for a while and have literally seen the best and worst points of the game. The problem is when you get people that have only been around for a short span, those recommendations seem to be more skewed towards personal bias and us vs them mentality. Some people can't be happy for one side being balanced because it takes a crutch away or makes a perk less appealing but makes the overall health of the game better, kind of like can't see the forest for the trees.

I haven't been here long maybe 2 years at this point but I mostly try and offer recommendations on things that I've used heavily in that time and stay out of things that I haven't.

  • I mean it could he seen as a nerf but they could start with nurse, allow her to 4.4 or 4.6 until she collects enough gasps aka screams(cannot be countered by calm spirit) to power her blinks. Say your doing it to test ultimate powers but in reality just use it to nerf nurse lol

  • Bro I like this idea honestly, but it would require the equivalent weapon on the survivor side to. You can't just add a cool mechanic to killers and leave survivors still holding M1 on a gen or using the same exhaustion perks. I feel like adding ridiculous things to both sides would ease up the sweatiness of the game and make it more fun or exciting at least.

  • As a huntress main this is a dream come true I can literally always practice orbitals now without being able to gen tap it makes them a sitting duck.

If one can't kill all survivors before kicking a gen 8 times then you lost way before the 3 gen occured. If you have all survivors alive with 2 gens left as killer your behind already, fail to kill someone before the last Gen is up and you've all but lost unless the survivor are throwing or trash.

I think my killer brethren are in fact overreacting. 8 regression events is a lot to be honest and im glad that they made it that. They could've made it turn on when 3 gens are left and made it 4 regression events. Some battles aren't worth the fight because the outcome of the victory could become worse.

  • First and foremost who the hell is face camping Jeff and why the hell ain't she in the game?

  • Bro all these comments and I maybe kick a single gen four times in a game and run no perks. Seems like you've become dependent on something and forgot it can be taken away. If your reaching these events you deserve to lose. At some point you gotta be honest with yourself and accept accept defeat and chase that one survivor for the 1k since you mentioned multiple times that everyone could still be alive.

As far as the forums I've I don't think there's a specific side honestly, from what I can tell, the vets have played so much that both sides seem stale and they want what's absolutely fair for the game even if that means nerfing their favorite killer, surv perk, playstyle etc. for instance im a killer main 97% and I'm ok with the changes, I'm also a nurse main that would be ok with a rework because after running her for 1k hours she's broken af.

Thing is you got people that play and want the best for the entire health of the game and then you have people who just want the best for themselves.

If this list is meant to be a list of STBFL users, it's a little off the mark. Why is Legion on here? They have almost no use for STBFL, they injure almost exclusively with special attacks and shortening the cooldown after downing a survivor is of pretty limited value as well as leading to quite slow stack gain in the first place. Let's take them off the list before we continue, they don't really make any sense to be here.

We'll also call into question Knight and to a lesser extent Pig. Now, Knight's not actually all that low tier anyway, but more important for this list is that his M2 is not easy to mitigate stack loss with due to just... everything about how it works, it's much more potent as a vehicle to engineer M1s than it is a tool for actually damaging survivors. Pig is in a similar boat, but to be fair, that's just because her M2 is straight up bad rather than designed differently, so for the sake of argument we'll keep her.

With those two taken off, let's look at these killers.

Pig: Arguably not deserving to be on this list as I mentioned, but even assuming she's here, Pig's middle of the pack and not a low tier killer.

Demogorgon: Mid tier, not low tier.

Deathslinger: Again, mid tier, and also not that great at using STBFL anyway? Sure, there's the chain breaking trick, but he still has to basic attack the Obsession eventually.

Pyramid Head: Definitely a higher tier killer. Also kind of questionable to be on this list? I don't really play him though, so maybe good PHs can freely swap between M1 and M2.

Nemesis: Higher tier killer, gets reduced use from STBFL since his tentacle is better than an M1 in almost all scenarios.

So, our list here doesn't actually contain the one good STBFL user that is low tier - Trapper - and includes a bunch of killers that are not great users of the perk, not low tier killers, or both. The killers that actually use STBFL pretty well tend to not be low tier killers - aside from Trapper, killers like Myers, Clown, Ghostface, and Freddy don't actually have any special tricks for preventing stack loss reliably. Low tier killers don't use STBFL to begin with, mid tier killers do.

Also, not the point of the post, but more than just Nurse and Blight are viable. Even if we expand to just the A tier and assume everyone else is unsuable trash, that still leaves Spirit, Wesker, Plague, and a few others.

I think the disconnect here is your thinking average killer experience and reinami is thinking top killer experience. At the top those killers are low at best. When the survivors are very efficient your literally at the mercy of "will they mess up" instead of like nurse and blight whom allow you to force the survivors into whatever situation you want from the beginning. While I do not disagree with you on only mid tier killers with m2 powers using stbfl, It should be one or the other.

  • The only killer I do not own and never will is skull merchant, I also would never play Jonah was so bad is I can't even tell you why lol.

  • What would you consider the hardest thing to master with demo?

"Forcing your hand" may be pushing it, but don't think your experience very much supports my argument? You may not have felt "forced", in a literal sense, but your first instinct were to unlock and run a perk for 200+ hours solely because it would speed up progression. I don't think that's healthy. Baseline progression should just be brought up to a reasonable level.

Oh I 100% percent agree that base bp gains should be increased i doubt you'll find anyone that will disagree with you there. My issue is that if you know bhvr you know dang well they ain't gonna increase it anytime remotely soon so the revision of those perks helps newer players in the mean time and would literally not change a thing mechanic wise . It's not like the bonus actually helped win matches or anything. If anything bbq alone would discourage camping and to a lesser extent tunneling.

You as killer able to see Gates, mean you should hook far away from Gates. Hooking near a Gate is your fault.

Manage a hook trade is a huge advantage to killer. 1 hook Meg willing to trade hook with Dwight, but 2 hooks Clau will not trade hook. If Meg trades hook with Dwight, its another survivor that can not trade hook.

You as killer will always prefer survivors to take a risk to save 1 teammate. If things go correctly, you will get more than that 1 secured kill (I dont say you get more than 1 kill, because its possible that Jake already death, and only Meg, Dwight, Clau left), which can give you 2 or 3 kill.

I usually use Blood warden, Rancor, Remember Me, Noed..and most of the time I leave all 4 alive before the end game to let them taste my end game build. The most disappointing thing is 3 survivors just leave the one on hook.

^this I don't use perks usually, but I do hook the 1st and second survivor I kill on the hook closest to the exit gates that way when egc those hooks are gone already. Just takes away the brainless(not an insult I'd you do that) play of hooking beside the exit gate after gates are powered.

    Can you expand on that?

Original WGLF and BBQ lead to noticeable decreases in variety and forced beginners hands, which, among other things, is why I dislike bloodpoint gains being tied to any perk whatsoever. Could you clarify your position some more?

Ok so when I first started, I was unaware of the nerf to bbq. All the videos that I had been told to watch to learn the game mechanics had old bbq in them. The first thing I do Is get cannibal to unlock the perk just to find out that guess what the extra BP was non existent. I mean I ran it for a good 200 hours before one day my brother was like "why do you have bbq on every single killer":and then preceded to tell me the news. It didn't force my hand at all, I learned very quick that earning bp in the early stages sucked hard, and that was one way that I could always get bonus bp even after I had used all my personal BP bouns items.

My point is it at that point what perks I ran didn't matter in the least bit because I sucked and had no clue what synergized or didn't, I was blind in the fog just stumbling around until my eyes adjusted and learned the basics. What did matter was I needed blood points and a lot of them extremely fast.

  • Hot damn 🤦🏾‍♂️. Thanks bro I'm officially a moron lol. You can tell I don't play attention to details.

  • Damn P100 hag kudos bro!!!!!

Flex? Is that supposed to impress?

If I were to launch the game right now and play Freddy with only Shadowborn and BBQ + some random add-ons, would that be impressive?

    100% 😂

  • Yeah that really sucks bro. The game is actually fun when you get a chance to learn to and actually play opponents on your level and not sweat lords trying to pub stomp.

If you only play survivor I highly recommend joining the discord and finding a nice survive with friends or swf, there's tons of people that would be willing to help. Solo q aka survivor hell is rough when you know what your doing due to the matchmaking among other things.

I can't help much on the survivor side since I barely play, usually for challenges but I can help with the killer side if you have any questions or anything. This is a game that takes a lot of time to learn most people are considered beginners until about 500 hours give or take.

The only tips I can give you I starting out don't set your personal win condition to wether you escape or not. Try to learn the loops, watch videos on how to run the loops there's a right and a wrong way to run them, also learn the types jungle gyms and which ones are safe and unsafe to loop. go into matches with the sole condition that you improve on something, idc if it's 2 secs longer in chase it all matters in the end. When you take that win condition out and just focus on learning the game it gets better, starting out killers usually will stomp you because it's easier for them at that level as tunneling and camping are almost guaranteed wins.

I'm sorry you started out on a terrible foot, I hate to see another new player leave due to crappy matchmaking, and terrible killers, someone with 9k hours knows exactly when they're playing someone with less than 500, there's no fun or glory in stomping someone whose just loaded the game up. I usually let the low hour players always leave and try to show them what not to do when I come across them. If you ever need to practice against killer hit me up.
