  • Killer bots should be in matches for people who are just starting so they dont get matched against a p100 blight when they play survivor for the first time but after a certain level reached they should be put in regular lobbies.

  • Legions terror radius is top tier but nothing beats Nemi's radius.

  • This needs to be a mode that if it comes to the game should stay forever. No Lithe, No Pain Res, No Unbreakable, No DMS just straight hands being thrown

I don’t know about the rest of you but I’m officially at the point where that threat doesn’t mean anything anymore because it’s been pulled out so often.

Let’s flip that around shall we? We can throw these changes away if they remove Blight, Nurse, and Ghoul from the game - sound fair? I personally like playing them sometimes myself but if it’ll stop the constant killer complaining then I suppose I could live with it.

i like playing against these killers too but i just want these changes and future changes to effect every killer equally an fairly in terms of their own strength there cannot be favorites. I know its a pipe dream but imo every killer deserves their place in this game but it just feels like if this keeps up the power creep problem will become even worse and the most optimal choice will drown out the fun and diversity even more.

  • Wolf mode dracula with a 4 meter radius is gonna be wild if its a map with high walls you wont know that dog is coming.

  • I certainly dont help sterotype of the bill getting off the gen to save the guy who got hooked, if i dont do it who will? This healing build will not go to waste.

  • For me it was Shape, for a long time i played Doctor then i moved on to Cenobite they kinda clicked but when i played more of Shape his playstyle fit me like a glove. For the next 2 years he was my main scratched mirror was my favorite playstyle with him until the maps got nerfed and i moved to a fast window build. And now with this rework he just doesnt hit the same to me he feels like big Chucky and he lost alot of his style and in its place is a higher spot on a tier list. Now i kinda just switch between Nemesis Pig and Wraith kinda waiting for a new killer to hit different.

  • i want more stealth killers, they along with trap killers change up the gameplay more than a killer who get across the map in 5 seconds.

  • A heavily rewarding Ranked Gamemode would help so the casuals can stay playing the casual gamemode while the sweats can sweat elsewhere for greater gains. It wont stop sweats in casual but 1 or 2 sweat games out of 10 wont be a big deal. Heck do what r6 siege did and have a unranked mode too for those who want to sweat with no rank or mmr on the line.

  • She looks like an alien trying to pass as a human like one of those Lanky aliens wearing a suit from Xcom.

  • It could happen since Miramax now owns the Halloween franchise but Blumhouse owns the rights to their Halloween films only and BHVR of course has a good relationship with Blumhouse. It just depends if Miramax wants to play ball.

I imagine the only reason why we got the Yellow Rabbit for Springtrap is because of Blumhouse also.

  • Just more wasted development time and resources to end up with just some buffs to make her playable. Hope the one year soft killswitch you did to her was worth it in the end BHVR. (spoiler alert it was not)

  • As a P100 Bill i am bad. At least you know i will be your knight in shining armor getting you off the hook and losing a chase in 5 seconds.

  • I feel like im the only guy to not like his rework but im glad hes getting some attention from both community and devs again. More power to you if you like the rework but i hate it.

I don't think Jeff has even had a tome yet either.

Every survivor should have a tome about them. Jeff's cool, heck i even bought the Iron Maiden shirt for him to wear as he was who i played when i first started besides Bill.

  • I've played enough Rainbow Six to know that big games like DBD have highs and lows, we are just in a low rn. The game will bounce back unless BHVR somehow does something horrific to the game. But with the Myers rework kinda killing my enjoyement of him yeah i'm just gonna skip playing the game at all in November and wait for Bone Chill.

    Salutes

    Congrats on hitting P100 😄
    Any plans on who's next?

    Nic Cage

  • It would be also helpful to bring out some Fog Whisperers or big content creators out to talk about their input on upcoming changes too.

  • @Dwight_Fairfield said:

Well they didn't reveal anything in regards to new content. It was health update stuff for the most part.

Great now i look like an idiot.

  • @Dwight_Fairfield said:

Why do you think it's Stranger Things 2?

Its 5th season's coming out soon and the times match up i suppose.

  • Might be a hot take but Demogorgon. He is exactly where he needs to be in what he can do imo. Nothing wrong with a fun b tier killer thats both fun to play as or go against.

  • The best we could get is Robert voicing the freddy we have now which would be weird considering how remake freddy is more serious compared to the dark comedian that roberts freddy was.

  • I just tired of the bad maps. Even before the pallet changes the maps have been a downward slide of suck starting after greenville. Haddonfield is still trash, Fallen refuge is somehow still classified as a "map" and still in the game for some reason, and dead sands is just dash killer heaven. I dont want my first thing i do when i load into a match as killer or survivor is just sigh and groan because of the map i got.

  • The animation where he looks at his knife should have never been a thing. Such a weird thing in both of terms of the character and im terms of gameplay. Oh before i stab this dude i must ponder this kitchen knife for a moment.

  • i dont understand why they just didnt buff him instead of this dash rework. Why not just give him basekit coup on tier 3 if you wanted him to have a long melee. I want Halloween Ends Michael out of here give us Full power Classic Michael back.

  • I still think he is pretty bad, this rework has been a complete failure the fact he has to look at his knife for unknown reasons and his strike has a cooldown is beyond lunacy.

  • Mastodon. Listening to Crack The Skye will never get old. RIP Brent Hinds your guitar work was amazing.

  • Bill, cause Left 4 Dead 2 is my favorite game of all time it is the best horde shooter of all time. If Coach or Nick were in the game they would be my main also.

For Killer it has to be Michael Myers, the scariest slasher. He has no motive no reason to do what he does and hes pretty tough to kill. The Aura farming he was doing in Halloween Kills was crazy, then the Aura Debt he was in during Halloween Ends was also crazy.

  • idk why they couldnt just include the mask when the skin came out in the first place. Would have been way easier to make the mask a optional headgear and the maskless version his main headgear.

  • his buff when he is added to 2v8 in a nutshell

  • Thats probably why that PTB was so scuffed, there were too many things going on in it, it probably would have been better for 3 one week long PTB's one week for the Myers rework, one week for the anti slug/tunnel, and one week maybe 2 for the Krasue.

  • Killer reworks imo are big enough to have a PTB just for them. The Skull Merchant rework should be a month long PTB in between chapters for the community to really sink its teeth into her once again and see if she will finally be good gameplay wise. Hopefully once the rework comes out she once again wont be considered a flop.

  • is a man not entitled to have this IP in DBD? Bioshock has always been a must have in this game and once BHVR runs out of horror movie characters (not much left besides Art and Jason) BHVR should go more into Horror/Horror Adjacent games like Bioshock or The Darkness.

    On the power:

    Cadavers

    • The idea is interesting!
    • Can the Gravedigger move while summoning a Cadaver? If not, the time to summon one should be substantially lower, to probably 1.5 to 2 seconds. Standing still for 4 seconds when your power has a 30 second time limit and moves at 4.4 m/s is REALLY hindering.
    • The dash Cadavers have should be defined more; is it just a lunge, or do they have a Krasue-esque dash that can be used as real anti-loop?
    • Why does a Cadaver have a time limit? Why are Cadavers slower than the Gravedigger?
    • How does a Survivor fight back the Cadaver? You mention being able to free yourself from a Cadaver before being buried alive; how does that work? How long does it take? Can other Survivors help?
      • A time of 12 to 20 seconds would make sense, given the Cadaver takes a lot of effort to make work and the Survivor is likely to be very far from the Gravedigger. Think of Victor trapping a Survivor in a locker as a basis, but increase that time to account for how Cadavers take up more of what the Gravedigger can do.
    • Can the Gravedigger pick a Survivor up out of a casket to hook them? If not, why not? The Gravedigger still has to hook a Survivor to make progress in the game.
      • Survivors should probably have something to do in the casket; it's mentioned they are afflicted with a status effect after 90 seconds, but what if the time was substantially shorter (30-45 seconds) and could be extended through a unique mini game, like how Skull Merchant's drones have a unique mini game to disable them.
    • Why does undigging a Survivor take so long? Unhooking a Survivor takes very little time; undigging a Survivor should probably be no longer than 15 seconds.
      • Are Survivors injured or healthy when undug from a casket?

    Death's Embrace

    • Death's Embrace seems like the primary end goal of a Cadaver; I'd say Cadavers should be able to do something special to Survivors in Death's Embrace. For example, instead of grabbing them and burying them, maybe Cadavers could injure them and gain an extension to their time limit? This would allow the Gravedigger to snowball by afflicting Death's Embrace to multiple Survivors.
    • You mention a way to cleanse Death's Embrace. How do Survivors do that?

    Mounds

    • How do mounds spawn? Do they prioritize spawning near generators, like Xenomorph's tunnels? Do they spawn in place of some chests, like Plague's fountains?
    • Why should taking a shovel take so long? They aren't crippling to the power like EMPs from the Singularity are. I'd argue they should take no more than 5 seconds to retrieve from a mound.

On the commenter saying the Killer needs to be nerfed—not really. The Gravedigger currently occupies a weird niche of "horrible power with good map mobility and a way to instantly kill Survivors"; a niche only Onryo exists in at current. I'd say the Gravedigger probably shouldn't be able to instantly kill Survivors with Death's Embrace, but Death's Embrace should be easier to apply and the Cadavers should heavily punish Survivors they chase for not removing Death's Embrace.

TL;DR: I think the Gravedigger's Cadavers should be defined better and be stronger, but Death's Embrace shouldn't be an instant kill.

    On perks:

    • Thematic and unique!
    • Using existing perks as reference can be helpful in writing new perks in a more compact and legible way; Mortal Coil could be written far more compactly than it currently is if you used the same formatting as Play with your Food, for example.
    • Hex: Burdens of the Living has the most interesting concept out of these, but the poorest execution. It discourages one Survivor from going to unhook, and doesn't do a very good job punishing that Survivor if they do end up unhooking. In addition, it is a Hex perk—it is temporary. Further, it requires hooking Survivors to get value, reducing the time it could be useful. I suggest:
      • Having Hex: Burdens of the Living light itself when a Survivor is hooked, and unlight itself when they are unhooked. You can use Hex: Face the Darkness as an example of how to write this.
      • I think that the perk shouldn't be an Obsession perk. It's already a Hex, which substantially weakens it.
      • Hindered is a boring condition, and the current effect isn't strong enough to justify on a Hex perk. You could do something that sounds crazy, like a permanent Curse effect that substantially weakens the Cursed Survivor in chase, because of how many ways Survivors can limit the effectiveness of a perk. The first idea that came to my mind was blocking Windows and dropped Pallets the Survivor vaults instantly, but that's just one thing the perk could do!

I'll admit this isnt my best work alot of it now that im re reading it does not sound that good but thanks for the feedback.

  • Imo the void should be like the basement if it had a basement, like some reality warping mind melting HP Lovecraft type stuff where the Trials a human being could understand but the void should be akin to trying to translate a dead language.

  • Yeah this kinda event would have benefited more if the gens were removed and it was more like a capture the flag type of gamemode. Would have also been cool if the whole map was in the Void.

  • @ChucksterMainin said:

i dont have an issue with the increase pallets it is the Double pallets that need to go. i got Walking Dead map and it had 4 of those, FOUR OF EM!!! you just cant outplay those.

On a more serious note yeah the double pallet placements are getting out of hand thats why i just groan when i load into Dead Sands or Fallen Refuge.

  • The planks of wood are taking over.

In the context of dbd is otz really that biased though? He considers balanced killers high b low A. The only time he seems baised to me is when he's frustrated.

Even if we tone down S and high A killers down I have 0 faith bhvr will balance maps properly, they are already going into a higher pallet density, less safe mentality without realizing that's hurting lower tier killers more than anyone. Like genuinely other than nurse I don't think they are balancing for S tier killers period.

Even then they don't know how to properly nerf killers, blight got nerfed in the worst ways and is still too strong because of it and instead of reworking nurse straight up they just made her add-ons mid. They also don't understand the nuance of their own statistics that they are balancing around.

They really need to stop buffing/nerfing killers based on numbers and nerf/buff killers based on what the community says more. Trapper has over 60% in terms of killrate but he is tied with Shape,Merchant in being the worst in the game right now. If the tutorial was overhauled and taught new players how to properly counter trapper his kill rate would be in the dumps.

  • Weird how they keep releasing skins for a killer they basically killed off until her rework.

Even the Anniversary event was a flop. The exclusive Baermar outfit still hasn't been fixed. Maybe next year.

2026 has gotta be BHVR's redemption arc. They have to bounce back or else its over, these 4 months of no content must be used wisely to plan out the new year.

I play games that aren't DbD.

Sorry, that's probably not the answer you're looking for, but it's the truth.

Playing with a friend makes DbD more fun, and we do silly things that aren't really part of normal gameplay to alleviate the burn out. We love the lute. Right now, however, Switch is cut off from cross-play, so my friend and I can't play together. I just finished my first playthrough of Dying Light: The Beast. Good game. I've also been playing some Hollow Knight (original), Lords of the Fallen (2023), and a bit of Bloodborne. If I'm going to be playing a game solo, I'm going to play a game that's fun for solo, and DbD ain't it.

I feel ya im pretty much only gonna hope on for the Halloween event and then dip or just play once in a full moon till the next chapter. Watch Dogs 1 Borderlands 4 Fallout 76 and my Baldurs Gate 3 honor mode playthrough have got me hooked rn no pun intended.

  • Maybe BHVR are just really big fans of Groundhog Day and they want the playerbase to experience the feeling of going crazy playing the same maps over and over.

I don't think it'll ever die and that largely trickles down from the top. In my opinion, BHVR does a lot to keep the animosity going. But I do agree that regardless of our perspectives, we should be willing to hear people out. We don't have to agree with everything they say but there's no use being an a-hole about it.

The takeaway from this is that people are just jerks. Aint no point starting a coversation on the forum or else some mongrel will go on a unhinged yap session.

  • good luck getting BHVR to fix pinhead. Cenobites gonna be left to rot until Clive Barker decides if he will come back or not.

  • eh just bury all your negative feelings deep down works for me. That or booze
