Lethal Pursuer to teach you spawns.
BBQ and Chili to teach you basic survivor movements.
Save The Best For Last to help M1 killers in chase.
Brutal Strength because... Just play with it once and you'll know. It feels so much better.
Zanshin Tactic's can teach you a lot about maps as well.
Most important is Shadowborn. Use it once and you'll never want to unequip it. Only problem is you then have 3 perks plus Shadowborn, so a quite a few builds are off the table. At least until we get a FOV slider.
-
I find it hard to believe that you weren't able to finish more than 2 gens in the times someone dies once for multiple weeks. I had a game where the survivors finished the first gen mere seconds after my Lethal Pursuer ran out. So it's needless to say that had a pretty good head start. I lost that game but at least I can say that all of them were decent in chase as well.
But I digress. I've only played a handful of survivor games during the event but really for me it's not quite that bad. Yes, there was a lot of tunneling and camping but mostly we held our own. One Blight (not an amazing player but decent) tried tunneling a Nea on my team and came to regret that. We all made it out because we did some bodyblocking and focused on gens. One Huntress downed me pretty early into the game and camped me out. I kind of get it though. It was a way to guarantee her a win. Not nice but effective.
Still, my games have been alright. Not super good, not super bad. Just alright.

Uhh, killers have expose...
One is somewhat BS the other enforces slugging. Guess which one the sabo is. For the exposed effect to happen, the killer first has to bloodlust so you buy quite a bit of time anyway. It's stupid and only somewhat fine because it's a limited time random interaction but you can hardly compare that to something that completely denies one side of their objective.
I reckon it's about as strong as blocking a strong window. You sometimes get screwed but it mostly doesn't change the way you play. Sabotaging hooks goes a lot further.
-
@MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:
Gen repair times is fine i think. But toolboxes should be reworked. And gen progress perks needs nerfs too.
Agreed. The problem is not the normal game flow. Just as it was with healing, which is why many spoke out against the nerf to altruistic healing.
The real problem is that everything can be dialed up to 11 and now you suddenly have survivors healing in 4 seconds and finishing gens in 45-ish seconds. On the other hand you also have the occasional survivor team, that isn't stacked with such items and would suffer immensely from random nerfs to action speed.
-
@JustAnotherNewbie said:
Imagine if you could sabotage a hook from 6m or something.
Please, no. Please. Let's not go there. I don't want to be forced to slug everyone during the event and I don't think you'd appreciate getting slugged every game either.
-
Open Handed. In my opinion Open Handed can be incredibly good and I'll die on that hill. Combine it with WoO and Bond and you have all the information you could ever need. Now put on an exhaustion perk and you're good to go.
-
Blight would be fine, if he had only F tier addons. But a super strong power should not be combined with overpowered addons. And Blight has a lot of those.
Some addon nerfs and some slight adjustments to Blight's cooldowns are definitely in order. A killer should have strong addons (not overpowered but worth running) but even that is too much for Blight's current base kit.
-
He's not the worst. There are some loops where Singularity's power really is good and can help tremendously. He also has a pretty neat tracking ability, so there are at least some redeeming qualities. Compare that to killers like Trapper or Freddy, who always get screwed no matter what.
But I agree that SIngularity is way weaker than he should be. The devs took every precaution in the book to ensure there would never be a situation where it might feel unfair. A killer that is fun to verse under any circumstances. But they did not consider that all of this is no use when nobody wants to play that killer.
I think it's most likely that they added a lot of these safety measures after the disasters that were Knight and Dull Merchant. To me, it really looks like a desperate attempt to make a killer that is fun for everyone. And while I can say that I had fun playing this killer, I just don't like losing most of my games and being left with absolutely no control because my opponents did something remotely correct like blasting an area with an EMP. So I stopped playing it and I doubt I'll pick it up again.

Who told about ban? and if its not give adventage why people use it?
I differentiated. It gives you an advantage that is arguably unfair because you use a feature that is not part of the game. Correct. I litereally said that in my initial post. However, I don't think this is the right question to ask. Unfair could also be understood as something that shouldn't be allowed / be bannable / get fixed. And that isn't the case for SWFs with voice chat.
-
Unfair in the sense that it should be bannable? No. Definitely not. Under no circumstances.
Unfair in the sense that it gives you a huge advantage? Definitely. No argument there.
-
BHVR seem to have some trouble finding the middle ground between perks that are extremely broken and completely useless.
The healing nerfs were necessary. You can't balance the game when the killer has to put in 30 seconds or more to hit you and you can heal yourself in 12 seconds on command every time.
Solidarity could give a little extra speed to altruistic healing (20% ish) and it would be pretty decent. Pharmacy is still decent. Finding a medkit to heal yourself isn't bad. It's no longer extremely good but still decent. Reactive healing can work very well in combination with Bond. Sloppy is pretty much a hard counter to any healing perk that doesn't have you healing in a secluded area away from the killer but I don't think it's that bad.

Reverting Hillbilly’s changes would go a long way in bringing more fun Killers back. A few more base kit adjustments to make him smoother to play and bam.
Honestly, they might have to do more than that. Sure, reverting the changes they made to him would go a long way but Billy was not designed for DBD as it is now. And you feel that with every new map and every map rework.
I main this guy (though I'm currently taking a little break from him) and there is just no way to use his chainsaw around many loops. Some loops are circles, some are squares and some have terrible hitboxes. What do you do? Play M1 killer with a bit of map mobility? You could play Blight or Oni instead.
-
I can tell you what needs to be done and it doesn't have anything to do with Wesker himself. They need to create more killers like him.
Killers that are fun, fair, strong and have a high skill ceiling with a decently low skill floor are always going to be popular.

Eh idk about that. Sure, it takes a lot of hours to "get good," but if we compare to actual competitive games like LoL or any shooter, DBD is laughably easy by comparison imo.
I doubt it. In FPS games you can carry over skill that you aquired in different games. In LoL to be somewhat decent you don't need a lot of skill either. You just need to know how the game works and have a bit of a talent for multitasking. You don't need to know what every single champion does.
DBD on the other hand is in a weird spot. There aren't really any comparable games and there are a lot of little things you need to learn. That includes the basics for 32 killers, more than 40 maps and basic game sense. All of this just to get somewhat decent. And it gets much worse when you actually want to be good. Because then you need to learn addons, items, offerings, map rng and smaller details to killer powers as well.
So, yeah. I do think that DBD is a hard game.

“That bad” is relative. All we know for sure is most survivors don’t escape their trials. The kill rate indicates an average of 2.5-3K.
And even that is old data. Like, really old. Almost a year at this point. And the game has changed a lot since. We really have no idea about the current kill rates. I estimate they are about 55% but that is only a guess.
And for BHVR to react as quickly as they did with Singularity, I think that shows just how bad it was underperforming. Now, it's a little bit better still I don't see a reason to play as it. If I want to put myself in a losing position I'll play pallet Freddy. If I want to play a hard killer, I'll play Oni or Billy. Singularity just doesn't stick out in anything other than mediocrity.
-
DBD is a hard game. End of story.

The Singularity outclasses a lot of killers, and I personally don’t think it’s weak. But it’s good that the devs anre appealing to the most common demograph (low to mid-skilled survivors). Not every killer needs to be as oppressive as Blight or invalidating as Nurse. I hope in the future they make more killers as fair and balanced as this one. And I hope you personally play them, and only them.
You forget that most survivors aren't that bad. The vast majority of all players are in mid MMR range. This killer is specifically designed to be as easy to counter as possible. Singularity is not oppressive in any way. That might sound good but it only makes this killer undesirable to play, which makes it irrelevant how nice it is to go against this killer.
They did a good job designing a killer that is fun to play against. But that is useless, if no one wants to play it. You can make an argument that Singularity isn't so bad when you become good with it but who wants to put in a lot of hours on a killer that is outclassed anyway. Why not play Wesker, Blight, Oni or Huntress instead? They are all much stronger and have lower skill floors.
-
Super high skill floors don't match well with mediocre powers. There will be a few Singularity mains but other than those you probably won't see the killer in the future.
It's sad honestly. They went out of their way to make this killer fun to play against and added a million safety measures, so that even the most mindless baby Meg would have a good time against this killer and completely forgot that all of this won't matter when nobody wants to play as the killer.
-
Because Billy needs his crown!!!!!

Dude…. Bringing a BNP will give you 25% progress on the gen if done correctly and you can still be chased off the gen and have it regress. Even if survivors still had the old BNP it’s not the same for many reasons, and I’m sure you know that.
The motivation is the same. You use every tool at your disposal to win the game. You can make an argument about which one is more likely to turn the game in your favor but that is beside the point.
-
I have a hard time believing people play extra nasty because of the event.
-
STBFL is super strong on him. Brutal Strength can be very helpful as well. If you want to relax, I recommend Zanshin Tactics. It shows you exactly when and where to shock.

Let it go. MFT on its own is not a problem. Ppl have issues with it stacking with hope which is an endgame, which is a time that anything goes at that point. We dont see issues with endgame combinations like noed, no way out etc. So why yall have an issue with mft and hope.
Reminds me of old DH not being a problem. The game is still in a state where we need bloodlust as a band aid fix for poor map design and somehow 3% extra speed is not a problem? Sure. Tell yourself that, while you become absolutely uncatchable at shack or any other strong loop.
-
Singularity is going to be one of those killers you maybe see every once in a blue moon. Nobody wants to invest time in a killer that goes from pathetic to mediocre. There is too much counterplay for too little reward.
The map is mostly fine. There are still some things that could use a bit of work but it's prette decent. Best map we had in over 2 years.
Perks go from pretty much useless to extremely strong. MFT could use a nerf.
Overall the chapter is decent. It's just one of these chapters that no one will talk about anymore in a few months. The few people that play Singularity will switch to different killers and the perks will either get power creeped or nerfed.
-
Neat idea, actually. I love it when both sides show mutual respect after a good game.

If killer players are doing things to make other players get as little bp as possible you don’t call that spite? These offerings are meant to benefit everyone and be a sign of good will but some people do the exact opposite and try to be as nasty as possible. That doesn’t mean killers can’t kill but if they try to tunnel someone out, facecamp, and do as much as possible so others can’t participate or get points they’re just there to make other people miserable and they deserve whatever spite is given them. Still, it sucks because not playing any at all means good players won’t benefit but ppl are welcome to play whatever offerings they want.
How would you know, if that's their motivation? It could be they just want to win. Just like survivors that run BNPs. They don't do it out of spite but because it's something that allows them to win more games. Camping someone out of the game will get you the upper hand, if done properly. The player that gets camped will go out of the game with very few BP but that is more like collateral damage and not the innitial goal. So I wouldn't call camping spite. The same goes for tunneling and slugging.
Of course, players can play in whatever way they want as long as they don't break the game's rules. However, taking the game so serious that it has you spiteful is not a good sign. Which is why I suggested for op to go outside for a bit. Most of us have probably had days when we hated our opponents but at the end of the day it is important to remember that this is just a game and getting so upset over it isn't worth it.

Hope you play the right M1 killer with the right build. Brutal Strength and Jolt work very well on that map. Clown can play around some of these pallets. Pallet Freddy can work too. Also, as nasty as that is, you can secure an easy 3-gen and camp that. Once the pallets there are gone you start to gain the upper hand. Camping can also work pretty well on that.
You can't win in a nice a way but you can win none the less.

Oddly aggressive for no reason
There is a difference between aggression and writing the same thing you did in other words. You don't run BP offerings out of spite. Because you take offense in something your opponent does in a video game. Which means you take the game more serious than is good for you (or anyone else for that matter).
Go outside for a bit. Relax. Touch some grass and enjoy the warm sun on your skin. You'll feel a lot better.

I don't know if it's a fix-it to say, but when I did the challenges for survivor, I did one random game, did not fulfill the challenge, immediately queued up and had regular perks during the next game.
I chalked it up to not having checked in my loadout that it was indeed random, so I made sure to check I had the random icons, and the next game the challenge worked correctly.
Maybe you can try that ?
I haven't done the killer random challenge so if this one is glitched in a unique way I don't know what you can try ! ^^'
I did that the second time. And while it showed me random perks in my loadout, my normal build was portrayed on the right (smaller icons). Thanks for the suggestion though. I'll try it again later and see if I can manage to make this work.

Nightlight isn't accurate.
I can login into nightlight right now and upload 10 great games and decide one was trash and not upload it.
A very small fraction of the dbd community use nightlight
True. But even, if we say that Wesker's pick rate was 25% (which is insane and completely unrealistic) it wouldn't match all these complaints. 15 Wesker with a 25% probability would mean you'd need to play 60 games (statistically) to encounter them all.
My point is, that the complaints about Wesker being the only killer anyone ever faces are ridiculous. You might see him more often than other killers but I don't believe for a second that you even play against 5 Weskers a day. It is completely unrealistic.
Also, I doubt someone would choose not to upload their game specifically because the killer was a Wesker.
-
According to Nightlight his pick rate is about 7.2%, so statistically you would need to play a bit more than 200 matches to face 15 Weskers daily.
Not everyone can have Wesker every single game. That's not how it works.

They don't actually. Survivor mistakes mostly ends with loses. Killer can make a lot mistakes but they can come back. Thanks to tunnelling, slugging and camping.
If that was the case every single solo queue match would end at 5 gens. That isn't even remotely what it comes down to though.
Really, it is incredibly easy to screw up for both sides in this game. Killer can't find a survivor immediately because the spawns are a mess? Check. Survivor can't figure out which direction the killer is coming from and grants them an easy first hit? Yeah. There is an infinite number of chances each game for both parties to throw the game.
You can argue that some mistakes are much easier to avoid for killers (and you wouldn't be completely wrong) but survivors on the other hand have more ways to come back from their mistakes. Consider that camping is going to be nerfed and tunneling as well as slugging will probably follow, I'd argue that killer mistakes become more severe, which also isn't untrue for survivor mistakes now that the second chance meta has fallen out of favor.
For most killers the game revolves around punishing survivor mistakes because they simply lack the power to create opportunities for themselves otherwise. So there is an obvious reason why it feels as though survivor mistakes are game changing. Because they are. Mistakes lead to the killer gaining the upper hand and create pressure, which forces more survivors to make more critical decisions and opens new opportunities for them to make mistakes. A survivor team that makes no mistakes (comp level) is nearly unbeatable, for that very reason.
-
~ Sincerely, someone who doesn't play killer.
-
Tunneling is fine when you, the killer, think it's fine. Nothing more to it, honestly.
-
@MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:
And what do you expect from them? Street is big dead zone with 2 or 3 pallets. You used them, now you have nothing only houses.
Op didn't blame the survivors though. Obviously they can't do much else but I'd argue that this is bad map design. The houses shouldn't be that safe and the streets shouldn't be that unsafe. The Myers' House in particular is just a ridiculous time waster. It can neither be disarmed or mindgamed (unless you're playing with a blindfold and no sound).
-
Going against Skull Merchant is atrocious. End of story.
-
We're in a gen rush meta. Second chances and spam healing are gone, so it's only natural that survivors now push gen speed to the max. On top of that, there is nothing stopping you or anyone else for that matter to run the best toolboxes every single game.
It doesn't get better when you consider how survivors get their event cosmetics. Survivors basically have to win the game to get their hands on them. All of that added together = 5 minutes games (some are way shorter).
The fastest I've seen, although that might have been a cheater was under 3 minutes. 4 BNPs can explain a lot but that was way too fast.
-
For me personally it's the back and forth of a good chase when I play killer. It's one thing to be going through pallets and mindlessly running after a survivor and losing the game within a few minutes. But when a survivor has to mindgame because they are cornered in a loop, that's when the real fun begins and many killers' powers really shine.
As a survivor I love it when we work together as a team and even when we don't communicate (solo queue) everyone still does what they need to do in order to win. This includes: Safe unhooks, convenient heals, bodyblocks and gen progress. That's not going to happen every single game but with the new HUD I feel that happen more often than before.
Of course there is also fun in running a gimmicky build. Yesterday I played a game of pallet Freddy with Brutal Strength and Fire Up. One of the survivors sent me to Giddeon Meat Plant and I already knew that this would be interesting. At 2 gens in I still had no downs but the pallets were slowly getting depleted and the risk of dropping a dream pallet increased. Then I got my first hook and it all started to go exactly the way I had planned. Funniest thing: Leon dropped the same dream pallet twice in one chase. I think he panicked a bit.

Marry: Spirit. Or maybe not. Don't know how old she was when she died.
F: Skull Merchant (can't deny she's a physically attractive woman)
K: Skull Merchant
Preferrably in that order.
-
I had a group of 2 holding me in a game for more than 10 minutes after I killed the others. That was... less than fun. Eventually I found them in the basement. I also remember another match when I got a lot of hooks early on and all of them completely refused to progress the game and instead just hid for half an hour. I only found 2 of them by that point and just gave up because I had enough.
This is literally taking the game hostage. I'd really like them to add some kind of feature to fight this.

I admit this guy surprised me, but even here there are some nuances, all these tricks are made in the same designs, which can be either too little or not at all on a particular map.Do I have to rely only on such places and drive the survivors there?
Watch the whole video, then go and find some of his other videos. The rebound tech is possible at every single pallet / a vast majority of all objects (not always the best play but possible none the less). Wesker's hug tech is a bit more complex. I can't give you the exact details on that one but I'm sure someone already made a video about that.
Wesker is incredibly hard to play like this but much more deadly than you give him credit for. And about that clip you uploaded earlier, that looked like a server issue. You were frozen for a fraction of a second and that only ever happens when a hit is validated in this game.
