He slows down when he's charging his shock. If he's spamming it, he's losing the chase.
If he's defending the totem, just leave or someone save the person on hook.
Why are you trying to vault after he's shocked you? Loop him. Run to a different window/pallet. Also you can dodge his shock. Bait him to charge the shock, if he shocks you loop him around because he's already lost distance charging his shock, don't stick around spamming your key to try to drop a pallet or vault a window when you can't.
Play Doc at high ranks and you'll find that Doc has a really tough time against any competent survivor.
I'm a rank 1. I was doing the NOED totem. I couldn't go to a different loop bc there was nothing. The only correct thing u said is why am I trying to vault after I got shocked and I will admit I completely forgot that I got shocked😂. I can't dodge the attack if I'm doing a totem. And if I dodge the shock that means I'm not going in a straight line and as everyone knows straight lines are the fastest route to somewhere so if I dodged the attack that means I am losing distance and he catches up quicker. And if he has bloodlust then he catches up even if he spams shock. I never stay at the pallet and spam the button trying to drop the pallet bc ik it doesn't work. Trust me, ik. I watch every good streamer and I've been playing for 1000 hours and I understand what ur saying but no. Thx for the response.❤️

Doctor is fine in my opinion. The NOED could have been prevented by cleansing all the totems, which I usually do on my own while playing solo. You can definitely loop a doctor, as his shocks don’t slow you down. He does not negate pallets if you just drop it immediately instead of getting greedy and trying to stun. It’s very easy to counter doctor. Except for detection, but considering you can just not be in his terror radius, I also consider it counterable. Also another counter to doctor is just to run well and not try to hide in his radius. Look behind you and don’t try to vault when he’s going to shock. Or just dodge his shock which is very easy to dodge if you’re looking behind you while in chase.
I understand your frustration but he honestly doesn’t need a nerf.
I don't hide ever but I was just saying that for the people who do. And your making it sound easier than it is. I have about 1000 hours in the game (probably more tbh) as I am a streamer and I vs doctors at least 5 times a day. If a doctor is just spamming his shock then you have to be in the perfect spot to throw down the pallet and if you do throw down the pallet then he can just spam shock again and make it so that you can never vault and by that time he has bloodlust so he'll catch up easily. And if your gonna say that the survivors can just do gens while ur getting chased that whole time well then you don't understand solo queue😂. And I couldn't do the totems that game because I was getting chased the whole time and when I wasn't being chased I had to gen rush bc my teammates were TERRIBLE. I do understand what your saying though and I respect your opinion and thx for the response ❤️😊

You're not the only one to find Doctor annoying, but that goes for many killers in this game. It's normal to have certain killers you dislike.
When it comes to balancing though, I personally think the Doctor is one of the most balanced killers in the game right now. His shock is strong but between these shocks you can indeed use pallets and vaults against him, but of course against a good Doc this will become very challenging. Just please keep in mind that killers need the ability to potentially down survivors very fast to keep up with the fast gen speed. Especially a killer like Doc who doesn't have a lot of map pressure, since he can't traverse the map particularly fast. Which is exactly his big weakness and what makes his great chase and detection potential balanced in my opinion.
However I wouldn't mind at all if BHVR took another look at Doc to try and make him less annoying for some people. I just don't think he needs any nerf, at least none significant one. He has a lot going for his base kit, but none of that is too oppressive and instead combined just makes him an actual viable killer, not an overpowered one in my opinion.
I feel like you shouldn't be able to spam the shock and that you should at least be able to use your item and do the essentials while your shocked. I don't mind not being able to vault or drop pallets because that is just part of Docs power but not being able to cleanse a damn totem is pretty stupid. I respect your opinion though and I understand what you mean. Thx for the response ❤️

Its been in game for like 7-8 months already, its literally impossible to find a survivor with that sound bug(Specially on this map!), and also this bug can appear while survivor is injured too, thats bs. Its not like a latency bug, so why devs can't fix it? Or its not ruining games? Literally one free perk for survivor.
Why did you have to hit the survivor on the hook?😂

Killers on the fourms are also crying about games ending in 5 minutes not just survivors.
I got accused of being in a toxic gen rushing swf when we were all solos but the spirit chased one survivor the whole game
I got told that im a toxic survivor who has to rely on crutch perks when the only good perk i was using was bt
And much more.
Both sides make up excuses to justify losing.
ACTUAL tunnling and camping isnt fun for either side

nah you're wrong. If a killer gets hit with a flashlight its 99% not their fault. Also survivors have the most simple decisions in game aka holding m1 on a gen, unhooks, and crying post game.
Nah your wrong...there are so many counters to being flashlight saved and if you get flashlight saved it is 95% if the time the killers fault

Keep track of who brings a flashlight into the game, if you are worried about it slug that person. On the off chance someone finds a flashlight and just happens to be in a position to sneak up and get that save, congrats that would be the 5% of the time its not your fault.
Also, yes most killers over exaggerate how difficult killer is to play. Half the battle is making simple decisions in situations just like this.
Yea if you simple killer down it is actually so easy IMO

thas not what i said.
I said you down someone in the open, you only know the whereabouts of ONE survivor(the guy you downed), you pick up said survivor and a second comes out from hiding and does a flashlight save. How is that the killers fault. Also saying "killer is just making really simple decisions like this" makes me feel like you know nothing about playing killer, you have to play around 16 perks, gens, hooks, etc etc
Killer is so easy imo... If you down someone in the open make sure to look around for the flashlight saver person.

Flashlight are equally annoying and great for a killer. If the killer plays it right he can get a free hit or down from the flashlight user.
Never facecamped because I don't like it. Proxy camping and tunnelling is a situational topic. It all depends on if you see a survivor near the hook, near an exit door, near a 75+% gen or they are situated in a spot near a 3 gen.
I agree with everything u said here. When I say tunnelling I mean chasing the unhooked survivor with like 3 4 or 5 gens when the other survivor is literally in the killers face. But I do agree with everything you said here. Thanks for the response❤️

Slug that person you downed and chase the flashlight? I dunno, playing killer is just making really simple decisions like this. You have someone down, someone in a chase, someone is going to have to come get the downed survivor back up. You have pressure on 3 survivors in this situation, at most 1 gen is getting done. Sounds ideal to me.

down a survivor in a dead space then someone does a flashlight save. How is that the killer fault? I know you can face walls when picking up but sometimes thats not an option and you can't always know that there is a survivor with iron will crouching in a corner waiting for a save. Whats your option just slug all 4?
There is always a way to avoid a flashlight save...you can look around and if you don't see anyone look towards the most unexpected spot where a survivor most likely isn't. Definitely don't slug as that is literally the most boring thing in the world. And when I say don't slug I mean don't slug all 4. Just slug that one survivor until you are sure there is no one around.

Actually sometimes i let the killer kill me at the end. The only time i want to survive desperately is when my daily requiers so.
I only get mad as a survivor if i can't complete my daily, but mainly because I'm a killer main and don't want to be stuck at survivor dailys.
I'm sorry to hear about survivors accusing you of doing something you didn't do, but it is still a thing that exists massively. Tunneling/Camping is a valid strategy, that isn't fair in most cases. I'm just glad i don't play much, even when i want to rank up (most of the time i get a bit sad after seeing myself de-ranking when i check in after a long time). I can't imagine what playing at high ranks has to be like since my experience with low rank is actually good regarding messages (probably bc i play on ps4).
Yea exactly...tunnelling and camping is a thing absolutely and I actually do let the killer kill me at the end of the game if I feel bad for the killer.

I personally loathe flashlights, like most survivor things, they're way too all purpose. Can save people, aid in chase, hard counter hag, and hurt wraith. Plus they work from ridiculous angles.

No, see, this is the problem. You want to dictate how your opponent should play.
In that scenario the killer doesn't need to go after who you want them to go after, or who you think it's more fun to go after, or whatever. They can take one survivor out of the picture AND burn DS. It's a perfectly reasonable play.
No, they weren't forced to do it, but it's a quality strategy for them.
Literally you just changed the whole argument. I said slugging is BORING. Not once did I say it was a bad STRATEGY. Furthermore, I said that there are multiple ways around being a boring killer and STILL GET A 4K or AT LEAST a BALANCED 2K. She simply could've not tunnelled and got the unhooker down instead if tunnelling and downing the unhooked and slugging them (which is boring AF) OR she could've just ate the DS and got it out earlier in the game. Of course it's a quality strategy but that was never my argument. All I said was that SLUGGING IS BORING AF and that THERE ARE WAYS AROUND IT.
-
@Bovinity said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1286431#Comment_1286431
Well then don't set up scenarios where it's the best play for the killer.
Seriously, every time I slug it's because the survivors didn't leave me a lot of choices.
In this person's case she didn't have to slug. She clearly went after the unhooked survivor right after and downed them and then slugged to avoid the DS when she could've just went for the unhooker and downed and hooked that person which would've meant that she didn't have to slug and that would've been an easy way to play around DS.

Not in the way most Survivors use the terms, which is 'Any gameplay I (the Survivor) don't like'.
I've been called a camper for not letting a Survivor unhook in front of me.
I've been called a tunneler by a Survivor who got unhooked & decided to Self- Care under the hook.
I've been called a tunneler by a Survivor who I found 40 seconds later, in a different chase, who was still Self-Caring because she moved around allot to avoid me. (She felt that I had to let her heal up, or I was tunneling her)
I've been called a camper because I placed Hag traps near the hooked Survivor and the group never learned to crouch-walk or use their flashlights (and they had 2 flashlights!)
The terms 'camper' and 'tunneler' are catch-all terms for 'Do anything the Survivor hates'. They know, however, that complaining about game mechanics is stupid AF, so they invent terms & then try to use peer-pressure to force new Killers away from 'bad' gameplay. (You don't want to be a BAD Killer, so don't camp or tunnel!)
It's all an attempt to try forcing their fake little pea-brained rules on everyone else so they can have easy wins. You'll notice that not a single Survivor has ever said 'I gave myself to the Killer after we genrushed, because the game went too fast' but they'll ALWAYS say 'Camping makes me die too fast! PUNISH CAMPING!'
The difference in those two? Winning & losing. It's okay for Survivors to win in under 5 minutes, but if the Killer kills 'too fast', then they are OP, or broken, or they 'camped' and need to be punished.
It's all bullshit meant to make the game easier for the babies who can't handle losing.
Camping and tunnelling are absolutely real and in the game...I have been playing for almost 2 years and I know what the true definition of both are and I have seen both many many times. I also watch most streamers that are popular and they will tell you that tunnelling and camping exist.
-

"tunneling/camping" is just made up words for legit strategies. Killers could say that survivors are facecamping gens also lol. Flashlights is also a part of the game. There is no problem with any of these things. The only problem is bad players and they will always find things to complain about.
So your saying tunnelling and camping aren't real😂😂

@KingFrost said:
Camping: I hate killers who camp. They take a lot of the fun out of the game. If you're camping with 1 gen left, then I don't have an issue. But when you camp with 5 gens left... just totally unnecessary. When I play killer, I always leave the hook. If 'free unhooks' bother you that much, then run Devour Hope or something. Yeah, sometimes it goes down. But when it stays up, it's amazing. I always hope campers run into Rank 1 Survivor Team 6's and nothing else.
Proxy-Camping: Again, proxy camping is pretty unnecessary. You should be looking for your next chase. Now if a survivor is in the area, then I wouldn't count it as proxy camping. It's only proxy camping if you stay in the area while there are no survivors, no pallets to break, and no generators to kick. It's not AS bad if you go after the person who did the unhooking. But staying in the area with the intention of going after the guy who got unhooked, they're some of the least fun people to play with.
Tunneling: Also really hate killers who Tunnel. Now, survivors do have an extreme range of what they consider tunneling. But personally, if you purposely go after the person who's been unhooked within... 10 seconds of being unhooked when: #1. You weren't already in chase with the survivor who did the unhooking (This is on that survivor, not the killer) or #2. The last gen isn't done. I mean it makes sense to tunnel when 4 gens are done, and you need to get that kill. On the other hand, I don't expect killers to look the other way if I run into them after leaving the hook. But when you go AROUND my teammate to get to me, it's just not fun.
Flashlights: They really don't bother me. Maybe it's because I haven't run into a squad of survivors who just blind me all the time yet. But the clicking isn't nearly as annoying as teabagging. As a survivor, I don't bring them into matches. I almost never use them (though I will click to get a survivor's attention if I find one in a treasure chest, or the killer's if I'm trying to save a teammate and I think I'm in a better position to run from
As a killer, I feel way more in control of the game. If the survivor is being toxic, I can punish it pretty easily unless its at the exit gate. As a survivor, I'm pretty helpless. If a killer tunnels me off the hook, I can't punish him. My team MIGHT be able to, but I play solo and that's relying on strangers who may or may not know what they're doing. But ultimately I have NO control. So that's why Killer Toxicity probably bothers me a bit more than survivor toxicity. Even when it comes to end game, I can always bring a Mori the next time i see the survivors. I don't know when I'm facing the same killer again, so I can't bring stuff to gen rush them with.
Best quote I've read yet.

Pennywise has been wanted by the dbd team for a long time. so it would be an emotional milestone to get him. he does tick most of the boxes of classis horror franchise etc etc. I think this is the strongest candidate as of now.
Jason voorhees is risky because of the law suit. I don't see it happen as of now.
All the other candidates (chucky, pyramid head, alien, pinhead) i don't see it happen as they don't fit the classis horror franchise and emotional milestone etc as much
Don't think it's pennywise because they already have the clown and because pennywise is basically an entity in itself. Saw that tweet though so I definitely think it's gonna be Candyman plus the 4 looks gold like honey.

No, before when you vaulted a window you would rubber band back and it would be laggy and all but now they changed the animation so that the vault doesn't lag you backs and it actually sends you further from the window so that you can't get DEDICATED.

Considering I play with resilience, being injured is a necessity. I'd probably have to just switch that out with We'll Make It or BT.
But overall, I am also hopeful that we will adapt just fine. In the meantime I was kind of stuck on what to do during a mid-field deadzone chase, thats my main issue as of now. There really isn't anywhere to run to in time to defend against a Killer anymore. I'll invest in Ashe and see how MoM works.
What you can do since you use resilience and spine chill (so do I) is bring a med-kit and 99 yourself that way you are still injured and can do stuff faster but when you see spine chill activate fully heal yourself. Also, make sure you run iron will since you like to be injured a lot. Finally, I personally run dead hard to extend loops but if you are looking for a way to adapt in the mid-field deadzone is bring sprint burst and 99 that so that when you have looped and used pallets and you run into a deadzone you can pop your sprint burst and make it to a new map tile.
