It's funny that Springtrap has bugs that almost always work in his favor, while the buggy trio of Twins, Knight and Houndmaster have bugs that disable half their power.

    Just a thought.

It's so annoying because this will lead to him getting nerfed and it'll be BHVR's fault.

If he's this bugged, he should be killswitched so people don't get burnt out dealing with his BS. But the devs wanna make money selling him, so they'll keep him live, force ppl to keep going against his buggy ass, then be coerced into nerfing him (even tho he doesn't really NEED to be nerfed) once he's built up a Skull Merchant reputation and ppl refuse to play against him out of fatigue. 🙄

This is what i meant with my earlier post bhvr either balances around their dumb data or they listen to 1 side constantly complaining even if its buggef through the roof like springtrap

Okay, give me 1 tool thats basekit, consistent against all killers and that works even if the killer brought perks that slow down gens quite significantly without needing to be there (DMS, Deadlock, Pain Res, Surge, Grim)

Just 1. You claim they have enough tools, I am just asking for 1 basekit tool.

Killers have plenty of basekit tools to slow down gens and speed up chases. Hook survivors in an area you want to deadzone. Down survivors while picking up another chase to go from 3 people on gens to at most 2 people on gens. Tunnel survivors if a kill is absolutely needed.

Also, tunnelling literally happens at 5 gens in 60% of my games. It REALLY is as prevalent as people make it out to be. If it wasnt prevalent, people wouldnt be so loud.

On top of that, even if it WERENT prevalent, a solution is still needed.

And if you think 3% haste and vaulting speed increase is too much to deal with, hook someone else first. Then you can focus both out. If you really think that math is bad, then you rely too much on tunnelling in the first place. It's been generally agreed that the most optimal path for killers should be surv 1, surv 2, surv 1, surv 2 or 3, surv 1.
Based on average generator progression, that would mean you're dealing AT MOST, with 3 gens remaining. Which is roughly the same point where you start needing a kill. If more gens are gone, you're only dealing with 1 or 2%. Both are basically non-existant to vaults, and the value for haste is far too low for that.

If you cant manage to get a kill on someone who is only 2% faster - skill issue

But what about those games where you simply cant get any hooks? - skill issue

What about Made For This? - Nerf the perk

Basekit killer features to slow down gens? You mean the kick that does nothing? And then regresses 1/4th every second? Meanwhile survivors have basekit bt wich they can use to body block the killer and then cry to bhvr for more basekit changes?

  • @QuestionMark220 said:

    Basekit DS 40 seconds

Springtrap slows to 3.68m/s when holding his axe, Huntress slows to 3.08m/s. Has the same windup speed as huntress, and gets an instant pickup from it unless the survivor uses a haste perk (which never comes up because his best build uses Mindbreaker). Do I also need to say how he gets boosted to 115% after throwing the axe for some god forsaken reason? He is overtuned. He is a Jack of All Trades that very easily excels in multiple categories.

Idk if its a bug but he CANNOT instantly pickup from axe injury since the survivor gains the default injure speedboost and hes 115% to try and get those axe grabs and during that time hes an m1 killer

  • Survivors: we want side objectives

Bhvr: adds basekit side objectives to killers

Survivors: wah wah this wastes time

  • @Scarlett1111 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3949222#Comment_3949222

He is a better huntress with one of the fastest first hit to down times in the game, full map teleporting that is incredibly quiet and spawns him within spitting distance of gens, undetectable for at least 20 seconds, along with 2 instant pickups. He is more than fine if he doesn't also get full map knowledge every single time he steps foot into the doors.

Ah yes the axe grab wich is impossible to get bc of how fast you can remove that axe. Oh and springtrap does get slowed down when holding/throwing the axe massivly at that (92% movement speed if im not mistaken) plus after hitting the axe he cannot interact with anything for like 3-4 seconds

  • @Pulsar said:

    lmao.

So far as I can tell, NOBODY uses camera's because they are useless.

Bonnie's Guitar Strings is easily one of the best add-ons in the game and it isn't even close. In fact it could be completely removed from the game completely and he would still be an A tier killer.

Hell no hes mid b at best hes just a sluggish huntress with map mobility attached

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

I think this would be too big of a change. In general, if a Killer releases, the first set of changes (aside from Bugfixes of course) should be to the Add Ons, since this is the least impactful step. E.g. I can see Bonnies Guitar Strings being nerfed or reworked, since the Add On is nuts. But this would overall be a mild nerf to his Kit.

Preventing him from entering doors would be a huge Nerf to his Kit. And one of the more unfun ones as well, since not being able to use your power as Killer is most likely the worst thing, see the general negative perception of Overheat when it was a thing.

But I have to agree that the cameras are not really worth it for Survivors, but I think disabling Springtraps ability to use the Doors is a bit too much.

What does he have left if you nerf bonnies strings? Greasy paper plate? Guard badge? Xelebrate poster and foxys hook already got gutted and bonnies strings got a downwide. Might aswel remove all addons from springtrap while we are at it...

  • the main thing that changed is the pace of gameplay you simply cannot waste time setting things up anymore. As killer you simply cannot afford to waste time

Every single killer you just state either has a piece of slowdown or movement, Trapper has his traps, Pig moves faster when stealth, Cenobite can slow, Wraith has his invis (which makes him faster), Dredge can TP. Do you just want Survivors to sit there when you smack them to death, because that's what this sounds like. Any sort of resistance survivors put up against what is on average imminent death is constantly met with "why can survivors do x". I play 50/50 of both and can easily adjust my strat if I see someone has haste perks, its not annoying or difficult to deal with.

trapper has traps wich isnt haste nor ranged. pig DOES NOT move faster when in stealth as she moves at 3.8ms so shes SLOWER then the survivors cenobite can slow but if you actually read my post these can be easily broken by any form of rock/walls wraith has invis yes and he walks faster yes BUT he has to uncloak before he can strike wich is heavily telegraphed. dredge can tp yes but this is tied to locker spawns wich makes him map reliant + survivors can lock the lockers wich makes dredge waste more time. so? what is your poorly made argument gonna say now?

You just listed a bunch of ways that survivors need to use to get away from literally any killer. Not using an exhaustion perk that helps you gain distance in the time of every killer having dashes, insane movement, or ranged attacks is necessary and if you don't like the survivors even attempting to fight back when the role is dying as a whole because of how awful it is to play then have fun with your awful queue times.

Haste perks are the killers way to shorten chases. Would you rather face 4 regression perks or 4 haste perks?

Also last time i checked trapper, pig, cenobite (whos chains can easily be broken by terrain), wraith, dredge etc didnt have any mobility or ways to keep up with these exhaustion perks (wich can extend chases by minutes if used correctly)

  • Killers also hate playing against perks like

    Sprint burst

    Lithe

    Lithe+finese

Vigil basically garuanteeing sprint burst every chase so if your not a dash killer good luck lol

Tunneling is not a bad habit. It's a valid tactic.

Why do entitled Survivor mains always think they can decide what's good or bad, or a valid tactic or not, for their opponent?

Is it a 'bad habit' for Survivors to try completing that 75% done gen? No?
Then why is it a 'bad habit' for Killers to go after the wounded, already-hooked Survivor for easy pressure?
Oh, right, because Survivors think 'my fun' is more important than their opponent winning.

Weird how that tired excuse never works in reverse. Survivors can 4-man SWF with 16 META perks and then say 'Git gud' to Killers.
But Killers winning in non-Survivor Approved™ ways? 'Bad habit!' and 'What about my fun?'

Also, playing Lightborn and Iron Grasp to avoid being shafted by Survivors is not a 'bad habit'. How entitled are you?
Is the Killer not allowed to counter anything Survivors do? Should he just walk to each pallet and allow a stun? Do you think he's a bot or a BHVR employee meant to give you BP?

but but muh soloQ - these survivors

  • Yup

Celebrate poster: 20% haste to 12% and made it so EVERYONE IN A 32M RADIUS GETS THIS HASTE

    Foxy's hook: 10% haste with a 6s duration to 7% haste with a 3 second duration

Aka both haste addons are basically useless

Its crazy how they looked at the ptb heard the community bring happy with the state hes in and just nerfed his addons into oblivion while adding more buggs and startup lagg on thedoors while changing nothing with his mechanics...

  • @rezor132 said:

More than that, when you grab survivors with the axe you become slower and you need more time to hook them. I don't see any reasonable reasons to grab them like that as well. The cameras are awfully useless, it is always better to just repair gens than trying to spot Springtrap on cameras (and it is also too risky by the way). Using doors is great only when you know Springtrap is in the chase or he is hooking another survivor, so on high rank i cannot just see office jumpscare animation, it doesn't exist for me, survivors won't ever use these doors. Feels like the devs paid too low attention to the gamedesign side, I cannot imagine how some of them could think that using cameras in this way can be useful in any way, there are a lot of other examples how you can make interaction with a killer's power useful and neccessary to survive- the Pinhead with the box, Nemesis and Wesker with the vaccines, the Pig with the bear traps, Sadako with the TVs and so on, and Springtrap's power is not in this list of course.
I think just throwing an axe is too plain and there should be given more attention to the doors and interactions with cameras which theoretically can make their using neccessary for survivors. So yeah, i would agree that Springtrap not only doesn't feel good, we need to be more objective here, he is bad, repetative and absolutely not unique, made without any gamedesign effort. (not to mention the new plain map and no survivors in the ANNIVERSARY chapter, which is objectivelly the worst ever)

doesnt help his addons are just terrible now… haste? lol got nerfed into oblivion. bonnies guitar strings? cuts your undetect inhalf IRI remnant? eh only blocks pallets now and the rest doesnt do anything of value…

The developers are adding changes to prevent tunneling slugging and camping, but there are still other toxic strategies the killer can do. For instance, hit and run/not committing to chase until the pallets are depleted, and holding 3 generators from the start (still possible with many stronger killers). Have the devs considered respawning all pallets on the map every time a generator is completed? Or at least after the game goes past a certain amount of time (10 minutes or so). And speeding up heal speed at 1 generator?

There are still many things new and solo queue players can't counter from the killer, strategies that promote unfun and boring gameplay. I am glad they are removing tunneling slugging and camping in the next update and hope to see more unfun strategies fixed soon!

alright then bring back the mori on down bc otherwise it woudnt be fair

  • If they add the mask i also hope they add the voice distortion to it aswel bc if so il buy it otherwise in wil probably rock the prestige outfit

I understand they'll balance the killer as time goes on, but this update was not ready to go live, in my opinion. Putting my thoughts about the killer being OP/broken aside, the game is broken. Audio issues every other game; e.g. gen noises only on right side, other noises only on left, needing to restart the game to fix sometimes. Visual issues; e.g. the killer will be invisible for several seconds. Not to mention I caught a crow while cleansing a hex totem. Lastly, why buff the killers so much? It's like the devs see YouTube vids from creators and nerf everything they see.

the game is far from killer sided. especially right now with the current gen speeds. (swf > killer > soloq)

  • i swear its like the number 10 is killing them…

  • @CoolerBleend said:

Okay so there's also this thing called balance and just because it's an addon for a killer power doesn't stop it from being overtuned

but it wasnt overtuned thats the thing.. sure even if they altered the haste abit (celeb to 15%) (hook haste is fine) but the fact that they all get the haste is just dumb… its like saying the killer gets haste when a survivor uses sprint burst. And for foxy's hook all they have to do is increase the duration to like 5 seconds and it wil be perfect for both sides (since both get the speed boost aswel so if its misplaced it can be easily used against you)

  • @CoolerBleend said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3943595#Comment_3943595

Except you could also chase the person with the axe and haste benefits killers more so it cut down chases incredibly fast

yeah so??? if you chase the original person they get hast aswel sure the killer benefits from it but remember its both a purple and a killer addon not a survivor addon…

  • @BlackRabies said:

Those 2 haste add-ons were busted. Poster giving %20 haste to the killer and one survivor was way too much and made it way too easy for the killer to chase and hit someone else that didn't had the haste. The Foxy hook and the others didn't get hit so hard with the nerfs that's what the PTB is for final testing before release.

the haste change to foxys hook was fine the duration isnt now you basically cannot use it on longer loops… also the "chase" someone else during celeb poster is a straight up lie as the person who got axed can either run 32m away from them remove the axe manually or just do both at the same time. oh wait thats too much thinking nvm

The fact that you guys keep pretending like teabagging at gate and slugging and bleeding out are the same thing is hilarious. The Devs on here have already said that it’s not the same as the killer has agency to force survivors out or force an endgame mistake that gets you an extra kill or two. You don’t have to stand there and watch them teabag. Go break pallets and farm points or force them out with hits which also gets you points. Survivors being bled out have no agency to do anything. Thats from the devs.

And you think its fun being constantly harrassed and basically scrutinized for simply losing a match? Sure we can oush them out but we still have to endure the tbaggs regardless after the stressfull matches. And yes killer is wayyy more stressfull then survivor can ever be

Whats that even supposed to mean?

I mean in theory you just have to:

    1. upload the picture into the profile-pictures-folder.

    2. Add it to the list of available profile-pictures.

    3. Set the path that the profile-picture-column in the databank has to be updated to if you choose this option.

That should be everything in theory. The picture should transform to the right sizes automatically if they programmed it easily for them, and if not it's uploading the original picture you see normally and the extra sizes for when they are needed (of course this would also require setting the paths for all of them so slightly more work).

probably not internal space for them to store the data of the pictures (since they have their base size + they have to resize them depending on platform + other coding stuff (for example some websites have a version of pictures with text so that people with sight issues can use the text to speech feature to still "hear" what the picture is about.) wich in turn is extra code on the website with means the website wil be slower unless you optimize it (i know this due to my own struggles with making websites)

  • @KatsuhxP said:

I've always said that petty people who go next over "don't like the killer" have always existed. People haven't become more petty.

Your "lack of spirit" is a great way of wording it, honestly. I think it's mainly because games are decided in the first, roughly 2 minutes. And if the survivor team isn't basically banging out gens immediately before the first hook (when the killer has pressure), the match can be over.

And I think that's the core problem. It may also be a problem with gens.

However, I strongly disagree that tunneling and gen rushing are the same thing. Superficially, people say that "it's just doing the objective" but that's where the similarity begins and ends.

Tunneling is a comeback mechanic for killers. It's the reason that I make certain to clarify "tunneling at 5 gens" vs "resorting to tunneling". Same thing with camping: camping first hook is ludicrous to me, but at end game that's your comeback mechanic.

All of that in the end game means you can likely get an extra kill because of it. It's also why I say that, while tunneling and camping excessively (at 5 gens) is a problem that needs to be dealt with, camping and tunneling are situational and can't simply be deleted wholesale. (Which is something that hook donation preserves and captures)

On the other hand, gen rushing is not a comeback mechanic. You have to finish gens early to even have a chance.

It's impossible, for example, to have two survivors dead and then say "well, we can resort to Gen rushing now" at the late or end game. That doesn't work or even make sense. You can do that with tunneling.

Not to mention that, as gens are completed the game gets harder for survivors. The playable area gets smaller simply from gens completing at all. The game gets easier for the killer as survivors die, and with excessive tunneling at the start of the game, the match can effectively be over with one kill if any gens remain.

Then you have that hooks are permanent, even if survivors aren't yet dead. And gens can be regressed from 99% to zero at any time. The only, only way to lock in progress on a gen is to finish it completely, where every hook is permanent, partial progress that can't be undone in any way.

So no, no matter how many times I hear people say it, tunneling and gen rushing are not equivalent.

great explenation and yeah i agree now. tunneling/camping at 5 gens is not needed (unless its given to you via body blocking with basekit bt) but the major issues with the game come from the core. Gens and map design both of these things impact the game too much you can have as much looping/chasing skills as possible and still lose bc of dumb gen placement or window/pallet placement wich wastes too much time. The issue with the gens from the killer side is lack to consistent gen regression you HAVE to bring AT LEAST 2 gen KICKING perks to make kicking itself worth it.

to adress tunneling i would come back to regression like this:

per hook state on each survivor you gain a 10% regression bonus as long as that survivor is alive (so that means a 80% increase at max) to make this matter more i would make base regression 1"charge" per second bc 0.25"charge" per second is just too low in the current state of the game in my opinion.

To make it short there are simply too many variables to "effectivly" balance the game you cannot give the same base buffs to nurse as you can to trapper this also goes for survivors you simpyl CANNOT get soloQ to the same lvl as swf thats impossible and the game shows it.

I would also implement some basekit buffs to killers
    fire up = fully basekit

and either deadlock bassekit or corrupt basekit.

(i would personnaly go for corrupt since that deactivates when you down someone)

1 … 7 8 9 10 11 … 15
