You are both right in your own idea. Please we all have different ways to play as killer and as survivor. As long as the rules of the game as put down by behavior are not violated then it is fine. outbursts in the after game lobby is to be expected and even then it's to be expected that said outbursts will be directed to someone. I once was killer and I got compliments from two survivors (I said thanks) and gg to all of them and the survivors just started railing against each other after that!!! I was morbidly curious what would be said so i stuck around.... as this was when it was point to point connections on the killer and not dedicated servers.
That's a crux of it, that everybody has their own way of playing and as long as it doesn't violate the rules it is not wrong.

I'm sorry, I get that this was put in to make you feel like you're fighting for your life but there's no sense of fear i get from it. I think making this struggle automatic would have multiple benefits.
- No more worrying about a random lag spike, connection issue, etc causing you to die when you are actually attempting to struggle.
- No more complaints from people who feel like they're wearing out their space bar needlessly.
- No more people deciding to give up on their team, they can wander away to grab a drink and still buy some time for their team.
- See the above, the rash of first hook suicide will jump up with the upcoming DC bans so this will at least force them to wait one minute before they bail on the team.
I like this idea it would combat suiciding on the hook. I mean you still suicide on the hook it's just going to take you a little longer

Yea camping is wrong as a killer you won't level up past ten if you straight face camp each survivor, in fact you lose points for camping so yes the game doesn't like it when you camp neither do survivors. That's why you get hate mail. I play killer and don't receive hate mail. Also your trash If you camp from the start.
Correction camping is not wrong, never has been so stop lying. Camping may not be efficient in points, but it is fun and gets kills from altruistic survivors. Your fun and my fun are obviously different.

I assume you've never played gears of war. That community is way more toxic than this. And I remember back when I played Destiny (1 and 2) i was surprised of how toxic people were. I'm just gonna go ahead and say people suck, and it's not the game. Gamers are toxic and get frutrated, no matter what game they play.
This game has a much more us versus them than other games and it's going to breed toxicity due to the nature of the game.

I just slug them, then no more shenanigans.

Spoken like someone who has never played OW or league. The toxicity in those games make the toxicity in this game look like a drop in the bucket. If you're really getting more crap talked to you than those games generally engender you might actually be playing a bit unsporting.
I play within the rules Behavior set. But my experience in those games were for less toxic there are many people that agree this game is extremely toxic your just one of the ones that does not feel that way.

The same is true of Fortnite, Overwatch, and League. But they don't breed toxic communities, it's just that their communities are so large. Some people are toxic, so more people equals more toxicity. It's possible that DBD, like any game with separate, opposing roles, breeds hostility within the community for that reason, but I'd still take with a grain of salt anything that's "widely known" among gamers. Most people aren't critical thinkers and just parrot anything they hear because it's what everyone else thinks. In that way, it's very easy for something to get a reputation that is hugely exaggerated or simply untrue.
We will have to agree to disagree. My experience as well as others have shown dbd to have the worst community in gaming currently. The games that you listed do have some level of toxicity but dbd is another level.

I don't know about that. People are people wherever you go. You'll find a lot of great ones around here if you look for them.
This game is more of you'll find some good apples but most are bad. The toxicity in this game is widely known in the gaming community.

I agree that it is an unfair advantage. But, I think it is an inherent flaw with the game and there is nothing that can reasonably be done about it.
The only possible way to balance the existing issue would be to enable comms in game for all survivors. That's the only way. And that would require rebalancing everything about the game. It would be far too much to reasonably change. It would be a completely different game.
I can't think of any other change that could be made that wouldn't make you feel disadvantaged for playing SWF. Any other change would be subjective.
Actually giving bonus bp to solos and killers that have to play with them is a great start.

You wonder why most people on this forum think BHVR is so shady at times? And why we lost half of our trust with you guys?
Because you guys don't fully answer anyone
Because you guys don't give proper answers
Because half of the time when something is going wrong you guys are very vague about it
Don't give us proper information
Don't show us any statistics to see ourselves so we could tell whether a killer is "overperforming" with other factors
Easy to make a meme out of "pretty good job so far" "soon" and now "overperforming" so we can't take all of you seriously
Haven't talk about any recent optimization for PC OR even for console and it's been getting worse for console.
Think that PTB is "proper" information to get to see if a killer/perk needs buffs or nerfs, especially on your case since of how your PTB works.
Nerf or buff things out of nowhere when no one asked for it.
And simply, most of us and me included don't see you guys as real developers. You just don't act like one (yes developers can fool around here and there but there is a balance), don't handle thing like one etc etc
Peanits is about as politician as you can get.

- Hag is the least popular killer in red ranks despite most tier lists placing her at around B to A tier.
- Freddy has the highest kill rate at red ranks, being over 75%. Freddy has an average pickrate too, Being the third most played killer.
- The top 5 most popular killers in red rank are Spirit, Billy, Freddy, Huntress, and Ghostface.
- The top 5 strongest killers in red ranks are Freddy, Billy, Spirit, Hag, and Pig.
- Statistically, the Clown, Demogorgon, and Nurse have the lowest kill rates in red ranks.
- Statistically, despite Nurse still being rated as S tier by some people, the Nurse in red ranks has a lower kill rate than Legion, Wraith, Trapper, Pig, Plague, Doctor, Leatherface, and Hag.
- The Clown is statistically the weakest killer in the game right now in red ranks. (When all other ranks are taken into consideration, the Nurse is statistically the weakest killer in the game).
- While the Spirit had the highest pickrate in the game, her killrate was only in the top 3. She was only the most popular killer, not statistically the strongest.
- Statistically the best 3 killers are Spirit, Billy, and Freddy. All of them have strong winrates and pickrates.
According to BHVR's own stats the following statements can be considered true.
- If Spirit was "overperforming", then she either barely grazed that bar or Billy and Freddy are coming close to it. (If they aren't already. If one of them is over the line I'd say Freddy is probably what BHVR would consider "overperforming").
- Nurse is no longer one of the best killers in the game. Statistically she is one of the weakest right now. She is only statistically stronger than Demogorgon and Clown.
- The Clown is statistically the worst killer in the game.
- Huntress is a very popular killer despite having a low killrate (if my estimate is correct Huntress is 14th.)
- Placing killer viability based on these stats is kinda tricky. But if these stats are true (which there's no reason to assume they aren't, then the following killers would be considered "not viable" at red ranks without a lot of help (Legion, Wraith, Nurse, Demogorgon, Clown, Plague, Doctor, Leatherface). (Hag would have been included due to her low pickrate but her high killrate disqualified her from what I would consider "not viable".)
Also, according to these very same statistics
- Hawkins, the Game, and Lery's are statistically the strongest killer maps. All of these maps are small, and Hawkins in particular has a distinct lack of safe loops, making loops winnable for the killer.
- Haddonfield is statistically the safest survivor map. This map features a lot of safe window structures and popular spots for the perk "Balanced Landing", allowing the creation of very long chases with minimal effort.
So with this in mind. I have a lot of questions for BHVR based on these stats.
- Are Freddy and Hillbilly on your radar for changes? Are they, what you would consider, overperforming?
- What exactly caused Spirit to be "overperforming"? Is it her pickrate or the combination of pickrate and killrate?
- Are there any plans to address the 3 statistically underperforming killers? And by "any plans" I mean, within the next 2-3 patches and not "they're on our list of things to address".
- Nurse was the recipient of a rework that, while on the PTB, received pages and pages of negative feedback from players. That feedback was ignored and the only addons that people considered good on the reworked Nurse were nerfed when she was pushed to the live server. Now that the feedback remains negative and the statistics show she is an incredibly weak killer at red ranks, are there any plans to go back and revisit this rework to try and address why she is so unpopular and weak?
- What is the reason behind Hag having an incredibly low pickrate. There are very few metrics that consider Hag to be a weak killer. The only logic behind her low pickrate is that people simply do not enjoy her playstyle for whatever reason. Is there any plan to make Hag a more fun killer to play as without necessarily increasing her strength?
Hag has a great playstyle, but people like m1 killers that require less thought and more reaction like a fps.

Fair enough. You'll find bad apples like that in any community. It's unfortunate, but it's how it goes. Some people are just like that, and the best thing you can do is to simply ignore them.
A few things you can do are make sure you have public comments turned off on your profile, as well as messages from people who aren't your friends, and if the postgame chat is really bad most of the time, just don't read it. Pop a "gg" in there and move on to the next game, because engaging with people like that or letting them make you feel bad is honestly just not worth it.
Funny thing is you'll find some bad apples in other communities. The deadline daylight community on the other hand is a bad apple always has been it's the nature of the game.

Yeah, but in that case you should take the DS instead of slugging them. You still tunneled(I had this situation when I was playing Spirit myself, and I took the DS because I technically did tunnel. I couldn't find the other survivor, that survivor I found and downed deserved the stun). Still 4ked.
In most situations I find taking a DS stun doesn't really do too much. You just down them a few seconds later unless they dropped close by a pallet. But usually when I down someone, the pallets around where they're hooked are gone.
The only time I slug a survivor is if there are other survivors around the person I downed, or I'm playing Legion, and hit the person who got off the hook with FF to find other survivors, then that person who I'm trying to avoid tunneling pallet stuns me. Then I get even by forcing you to bleed out on the ground the rest of the game.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/861509#Comment_861509
Killers could play around this too easily. Slug the person who got off the hook, down and hook the unhooker, hook the slugged survivor. Honestly that's pretty standard killer gameplay for avoiding DS.
The only time I slug a survivor is every game. It counters DS and they become bait for further slugging.

And if you can get a significant advantage out of that then you should do it. Tunneling doesn't make you a bad person.
It is a tactic that works. It is funny though, they complain about slugging but then slugging is the counter to DS. Survivors are such potatoes. Camping is the counter to altruistic survivors while tunneling can be efficient.

The thing you are missing is that I did (and would be wrong if I did) extrapolate to making a statement about DS in general. Since intent based actions like Tunneling are obscenely difficult to quantify and we can only at best approximate. (Other intent based actions are things like sandbagging or BMing, where it's not the literal series of events that make it what it is)
Just that finding the unhooked Survivor and downing them is not just the result of tunneling, and thus you can't conclude from just "I went back to the hook and downed the unhooked" that it was tunneling.
If you also knew that the Unhooker was in his LoS as well THEN you could conclude tunneling.
But tunneling is chosing a specific target repeatedly over other targets.
If I don't know where you are then you can't be a target. So if I only know where the unhooked Survivor is then they are my only potential target. There is no other target I could go after instead because I don't have enough information to go after them, so doing so is not tunneling.
I purposely tunnel, it gets rid of them faster and their salty tears fuel me to the next tunnel. Guess what? After i tunnel them I slug them because of DS (now they complain because I am not hooking them, obviously thier fault). After the slug I camp them hard and do the same to their teammates. Survivors are potatoes and deserve to be on the ground.

How does wanting a concede button while slugged = not wanting to adapt. The entitled killer radiates off of you. A concede button could just leave behind a husk and it would have no effect on you.
I run unbreakable almost all the time by the way. Sometimes it doesn't matter though.
I don't play killer because killer is harder than playing easy mode survivor, hence I am a survivor main. It's not the killer's fault that you are slugged it's your teammates fault for not healing you, I don't get mad at the killer when I get slugged I get mad at my potato teammate who's hiding waiting for hatch, but if you left behind a husk and the husk was not subject to a timer that would be fine be fine as it changes nothing. Currently though there is no husk that is left behind and until the devs implement that you will probably never get a concede button. I would be down though for a concede button though if the whole team agrees to it, but the team would forfeit all their points and the killer would still get the points as if he had hooked them and vice versa if the killer initiated the concede the survivors would get escaped points.
-
@SkeletalElite said:
They should just add a concede button that only appears after you've been slugged for at least 40 or so seconds. I don't want to sit here doing nothing for 4 minutes because youre thirsty for your last kill. I just want to play the game thanks.

Your are definitely the problem. You have a team that can heal you, so stop being lazy. Obviously if i got to the point where I am slugging the third to get the forth, your team was the one that lacked skill. You just sound salty, I play survivor mostly and being slugged does not bother me as it is apart of the game. I just go do something else. Your blaming killers for a you problem. You don't like being on the ground? Then get your teammates to heal you. Myers was immune to detection perks for a reason. Having barely the speed of a survivor you get really screwed by Spine Chill, Premonition and even OoO because the perk still lights up and tells which direction he's coming from.
I know he was and the change to it is better.
-
He still has no terror radius. So what is your complaint again? "Survivors have a way to see me when I have no terror radius so unfair". I mean come on man listen to yourself
-
@last_juggernaut said:
Ever since the "undetectable status effect update" Myers have been severely nerfed due to this new status effect being slapped on him. Granted, he now has 0 terror radius but can be detected by spine chill 36 meters away. This is causing him to lose all his stealth ability when trying to stalk a survivor.
A survivor running spine chill or premonition immediately runs away and looks for him as soon as the perks light up. its being extremely hard to keep up in the start of the game which is very crucial, given he already has very low speed and gains no bloodlust. Also, his lunge is way too small. Undetectable status effect is severely hurting Myers and ruining one of the most fun builds in the game, the scratched mirror.
How was this a good idea to give a killer who is already handicapped to begin with, more negatives? The Undetectable status might be a minor buff for all other stealth killers but for him, its a massive nerf. A nerf that he didn't need in the first place.
I suggest that you could give him the status effect if you must, but only the 0 terror radius part. He already had the immunity to every detection perk in the game to begin with in his base kit. He had that immunity for a reason, to compensate for the negatives that he had to start the game with. This made him unique, now he is just another run of the mill so called stealth killer that is not stealthy at all. His EW1 must be reverted back to complete detection immunity like it was previously. The new status effect is basically making him a M1 killer with all the negatives and no positives.
Please change him back as he was. This change was completely unnecessary and was a horrible idea to begin with, to one of the most balanced killers that was fun to play with and against. He didn't need any changes. Please let him be as he was and not add unnecessary status effects on him.
So to sum up your wall of text "Myers now has a counter, please undo it". I love killers and I 99% side with them but this post is just silly.
-
The argument gets brought up because people complain about one or the other. If one is nerfed the other should too. I am perfectly fine with removing both from the game as they add nothing to it.

Well about the slugging... people have better things to do than just crawl and look at their screen for 4 minutes while you are probably proxy camping the slug on top of that so they won't get away. I usually just hook the third survivor and don't care if they find the hatch before me. The only times i slug at the end is if the remaining survivor was toxic af or if the hatch has already spawned, i might look for it. But i'm not gonna tryhard and waste mine and everyone else's time for "muh 4k".
Funny a lot of your posts are complaints too. Imagine that you got something in common with him.

A killer's argument would be. "Well if they have decisive strike or adrenaline". Again. Ask the Devs or a community manager. I posted at the start of this little forum on it, and so far. It has been a 50.50.
Slugging is not against the rules as it does not hold the game hostage and is a viable strategy.
