  • Are you kidding me?
In high rank matches killer are hurting themself using that add on, because it take way to long to reach EW3.
Good survivor have already finished all gens if you wait for it, because they avoid your stalking.
If this add on is a problem for you it is a serious case of git gud.

We could. But we won't. Rip mr.Trapper. :(

ps: I suggest you to put traps in doors or where they will end up after vaulting. Granted, this ######### works only from one side, but whatever. Take agitation and iron grasp and let them have fun basement time.

Not all doorways can be blocked by a single trap. Coaltower upstairs doorway (the dropdown point) is to big. Even a beartrap right in the middle can't stop a cautious survivor, of course the Trapper himself, can NOT squeeze past it.
    :(

  • Please check out my post about the issue.
This is already known to the Devs, but they just don't care about it.

  • Just as a little history lesson about this, here is a link to my original post about this topic in the steam forum (before this here became the official DBD forum):

    https://steamcommunity.com/app/381210/discussions/0/1354868867706403731/

...and please take a look at the DATE(!) it was created. :p

  • Since IG got nerfed it is pretty difficult to bring anybody to the basement and the perk should focus on the basement and not get changed to affect every hook.
But just affecting the sacrifice time doesn't justify the extra effort to bring the victim there.
The basement is intended to be a dangerous place and the killers den, so I think my suggestion is pretty close to how it should be.
For me it is just a buff to a perk that is pretty useless atm.
And since it is very situational and limit to a very specific place, I do not see it overly powerful.

Yeah, but do we consider a buff to the perk or a complete rework?

Do you consider my suggestion a buff or a rework?
I think it is a buff… and it is a much needed buff, that would make the basement even more dangerous and would reward using perks like IG or Agi, which are pretty much useless right now.

  • My suggestion for Monstrous Shrine:
Inside the basement ALL survivor perks are suppressed.

I am an avid DBD player and absolutely love the game. But it is very annoying when i get downed and have a very slim chance of escaping because there are too many damn hooks around the map.

The offerings are random so it could only erase a hook thats nearby another 40 hooks.

Not everyone has saboteur and can communicate within game to get rid of hooks.

The damn wiggle time is too hard, we already have Iron Grasp to make it impossible, it doesn't have to be nearly impossible without it.

Wiggle is there to make it impossible that the killer can always carry you to the basement.
It is not meant to be an escape tool and actually the bodyblocking thing gives you a guaranteed escape (devs realized that too late sadly)

Iron grasp is there to make it impossible for you to escape at all. I'm not saying completely nerf it but at least despawn maybe 1 or 2 less hooks? They always spawn way too close and we might as well let killers automatically have iron grasp

    rofl
"Impossible at all" … your really funny.^^
Are you aware that IG gives you just 2 seconds more carrytime?
IG is a weak perk to begin with.

  • survivorlogic

Killer got looped for 3 gens and should let that guy get a 2nd chance to loop him for another 3 gens… oh wait, there are only 2 left.^^
How dare the killer camp?!?!? XD

  • There are still some really bad hook spawning pattern.
Like Haddonfield with the next hook behind an long hedge ending in an even longer fence.
Or Meatplant when you have no hook on one level and need to find a stairway to a hook.

  • I smell some survivor entitlement.

  • Actually when I started playing DBD and maining killer, I also thought injured survivor would drop down at some point.
I also believed that Sloopy Butcher would really speed up dying on the ground.
    Man was I wrong.
Those things seemed only logical to me.

  • Getting hooked after being picked up is intended to be the NORM.
Wiggling free should rarely happen to begin with, unless other player interfere .
The main purpose of wiggling is that the killer can't choose freely which hook to use.

  • Very good direction of thinking.
Some mechanics would need tweaking and simplification, but in general this is a very good idea.

  • Devs take the opion of survivor for reality. And they claim that slugging is extremely powerful and hard to counter, but in fact it is basically the opposite. Killer aren't slugging, because it is easy, but because it is a tactical decision that has a certain advantage at that moment and brings a disadvantage along.
Sometimes you do not have the time to pick someone up and carry him to a hook, because you know you will lose that nearby gen that is already 90% done. The list of situations like that goes on and on. It is
Slugging is basically more a desperate move and not a move of superiority.

  • Erm… this post is completely invalid, since a beartrap can hardly block a complete doorway.
Since the beartraps became unintentionally smaller during some patch, but the Devs never bothered fixing it, since it is a killer issue.

  • @Chroma said:

No. Just don't lie. No person that plays killer goes "I think Moris are unskillful" You literally have to catch, down, catch again, down again a survivor to even use the worthless pieces of crap. What is this 2016?

you're telling me i'm not a killer main?

    Yes.

  • Back in the days, SFTS was an awesome perk, but than they hit it with the nerfhammer.
Not only did they lower all the numbers, like percentage chance for an alert, range to get the alert at all, but also they completely changed the mechanics how these checks get triggered without noticing this in the patch notes.
Before the nerf, the survivor had to be in a certain radius of the crows to check for the alert, but now the crows need to get "disturbed" aka fly off. A survivor can almost crouch on their tail before they fly off.
And in the very same patch that they nerfed SFTS, they buffed Calm Spirit to a 100% counter.
Now people think Calm Spirit is a weak perk, because it is a hard counter to a weak killer perk.
SFTS was nerfed so hard, that most people thought the perk was bugged for not triggering.
And now no one is using this anymore, because everyone knows it's a garbage perk.

  • Why is it still a thing that biased survivor mains start their "nerf killer" post with "I am a killer main"?
This is really insulting to anyone with a brain.
Do these guys really believe that we don't get the lie?

  • @Delfador said:
You don't like slugging because it massively benefits the killer.

This is not really true. In most cases slugging is less beneficial to the killer.
It is way easier to heal up a survivor and he never lost a hook stage.
Slugging only works only in limited situations for the killer.

  • CQC = regular melee attacks … if the Devs start messing with the killers hitdetection cone this will really get ridiculously stupid. That will become jukers paradise.

whats wrong with only using unbreakable? Who has a problem with being slugged its your fault you messed up and got downed you dont deserve any more free lifes than what is already in the game. just use unbreakable.

This isn't about free lifes or any of that garbage.

Slugging is an unfun mechanic, plain and simple.

Who wants to crawl around on the ground for 4 minutes, but then again I suppose Killers could care less.

Of course it is about free lives and that garbage!

Do you think all the crap survivors are doing is "fun" for the killer?
But that is all "needed to survive", right?
But anything the killer is doing to get his objective is "unfun" and needs to get "fixed", because "fun" is only for survivor

Slugging requires no interaction between the Survivor and Killer.

If you aren't having fun playing as Killer, why exactly are you playing?

No interaction between killer and survivor?
So tell me, how exactly did the survivor down on the ground?

    You can't be this dumb.

This shows how much egoistic survivors are. Survivors have this mentality that a killer and 'one' survivor should have equal chance and ground because they think that this game is symmetrical.

If you didn't notice, there are 4 survivors you know? When he slugs you, he deals with someone else therefor there is an interaction.

Why do killers slug? It is because it prolongs the game and gives more opportunity to the killer to win the game.

Killing survivors is fun btw. What is not fun is to getting gen rushed and have 1 or 2 hooks in 3-4 min matches. Slugging is fun for the killer but not fun for the survivor. Gen rushing, saving people from the hook and escaping is fun for the survivor but not fun for the killer.

    Deal with it.

There is no interaction with the person that is slugged.

Hookiing and killing Survivors progresses the game.
    Doing generators progresses the game.
Saving from the hook progresses the game.
    Escaping progresses the game.
    Looping has interaction.

Apparently the Survivor on the ground being slugged is interacting with the Killer chasing someone else, WHATTT?????? I don't know what to say.

Slugging doesn't progress the game nor provide any interaction which is unfun.

    lol
Sorry, but you completely ignore the fact that the survivor on the ground is "bleeding out" and according to your own logic this is "progress the game", since if he dies from bleed out he is eliminated from the match.

2nd he already had "interaction" with the killer… at least twice. :D

3rd while he is on the ground bleeding, the killer interacts with other survivor, so there is interaction between the killer and the team of survivor… but just not with YOU.
If the killer makes the tactical decision to NOT pick you up, to avoid flashlights, pallets, DS or the hatch or loosing a gen, that is HIS tactical solution to a problem.
You just don't like it and want the other human being to play to your liking.

TL;DR "mimimi, the killer isn't killing me the way I like it"

  • I already get way to many swings that should have been hits that did not connect with the survivor. I have no clue what's the technical problem behind it, but if they reduce the hitcone even further due to to many survivor bitching about their lag/latency issues it will only get worse.

  • Get over it. "Camping" is legit and survivor complain about it way to much.
Just yesterday I had some people call me a camper, because I dared to turn around after I hit the fist wanna be rescuer and saw the other walking towards the hook and turned around to fend that guy off.
    That's "obviously" "camping".

Survivor call anything camping that is not a free unhook.
I play a lot of Hag lately and get called a camper for using her main power. Wow, who would have guessed that there is a TELEPORT TRAP beside the hooked victim? What a nasty surprise! facepalm (rank 8 btw)

  • SC speeds healing up. Period.
Anybody telling otherwise is unable to do simple math.

2 people injured can a) heal each other or b) heal side by side using SC and need the same amount of time.
But they can do it without ever the need to waste time searching for one another.
They can play the classic ping pong with the killer, they just run away from all gens and the killer has to either tunnel one and has to give up the gens or he tries to pressure the gens and the injured will heal up asap, because he just needs to stop wherever he just happens to be and start rubbing his belly.

For example: all 3 tank a hit to bodyblock a hook and the victim gets free, all just burst of in different directions and the killer has to choose ONE to follow, while all 3 heal up on their own. By the time he downs the injured guy all other are already healed up and ready to bodyblock and tank a hit, leaving the killer with no progress towards his objective (sacrificing).

Without SC and 2 survivor remaining it would make sense to switch targets after a hit, but not if 84% of all survivor run SC. But still survivor complain about getting "tunneled", but claim that SC is is ok, because the killer should down you. #########?

  • Is this a serious request???

There are many ways of countering self-care:

    Nurse's Calling,

    Thanatophobia,

    Sloppy Butcher,

    Coulrophobia,

    Dying Light

    Perks that indirectly counter self-care:

Monitor and Abuse (on specific killers),

    Make Your Choice,

    Stridor,

    BBQ and Chili,

    Devour Hope,

    NOED

Non of the above is a "counter" to Self Care.

Nothing is preventing SC from getting used, it only make it take a little longer.

And also one hits aren't counter either, most of them are tied to very specific conditions and have counterplay in themself.

A good counter to SC is to down them before they can use it.

Which is called "tunneling", which is another thing survivor will complain about.

And in a lot of situations tunneling will hurt the killer.

Tunneling is to focus on the same player till dies, not hitting them before they can use SC.

You definition is not the one that is generally used in this forum by the majority of survivor.

  • "Camping" is intended gameplay. Securing a sacrifice and baiting other survivor to rescue the victim is a reasonable tactic.
And getting eleminated first in an asymetrical game is something you have to learn to deal with.
You have no right to play through the whole match.

  • My take on this:

    dbydaylight.com/en/discussion/17033/self-care-healing-suggestion#latest

    Self Care/Healing change suggestions
-A part of the unfinished healing progression will be lost whenever the process of healing is stopped (if 2 survivor heal 1 injured and one stops, no progress is lost) no matter if it is Self Care of healing from teammates
-Unfinished healing progression will decay while the survivor is sprinting
-Self Care will get charges (1 charge per tier of the perk), finishing healing with Self Care will consume a charge
-Self healing with a Medkit will not consume a charge

  • @FrenziedRoach said:
Also, keep in mind that this spitballing session they are having regarding that hit cone would come with a considerable increase to the lunge speed/distance to compensate for the shorter reach.

This change they are pondering among other things is to help deal with the sketchy hits we sometimes see when survivors make it through windows.

You mean like they said that we (killer) will gain bloodlust faster if they reduce the speed gained by bloodlust?
Oh wait, we don't get that and the speed gets reduced anyway.

I am a Killer main that actually thinks Deliverance is a good perk, it can only be USED ONCE

only idiots and biased people would complain

Distraction needs alot of buff, should have multiple charges

Autodidact also needs some slight buff, no one will use it honestly

It can "only used once" worked great in the past, right?
That was the argument about BT and it was a pain in the rear and got changed.
It is still the argument about DS and it is still an OP perk that annoys most killer player.
So it can "only be used once" is NOT a real good argument.
    Once per match? Ok.
But in reality it is once per survivor.

Did the Devs say that they dropped the SC rework?
    Where and when?

During maybe the last actual dev stream. They said they were "putting it on hold" to see how things settle with all the current changes. Since "soon" equals 2 years I don't even want to think what "on hold" means.

That would be the second time they announced a Self Care nerf and it never came.

  • The real issue with SC is
    a) it's limitless
    b) it's self sufficient

-Give it charges.(1 per tier, spend when the healing is finished using SC)
-make healing lose some progression if it is interrupted for any reason
-make it lose progression during sprinting
    -make it slightly slower
