Always wanted a fire controlling killer. We already have fire barrels scattered around the maps he could interact some way.
-
I think they are stuck with the "stats are saying he's doing fine" mindset.
-
If I had to guess, I'd say they went for a rifle-like recoil to make him feel more familiar to the average gamer, since a downward recoil would feel wierd to most players.
-
Having one bad experience with a perk is not a reason to want it nerfed.
-
There are currently two addons (Nurse's Matchbox and Hag's Waterlogged Shoe) that sevearly nerf the killer's power in exchange for more base movement speed and nobody uses them. People like using powers, a perk that removed it wouldn't be used at all imo.
-
DbD doesn't have competition because for as many problems as it might have, it is still a good game, and the others that tried to fill the same niche couldn't really compete.
-
Dead Hard is extremely predictable and can be played around. There are instances in which it can be really frustrating, but in my experience they are rare.

Is it possible someone did a drive-by syringe on him and after he picked himself up, the syringe kicked in bringing him from injured to full?
No one had a syringe, and in any case it happened in a couple of seconds, not 16.

Delaying it is a counterplay. Bad players will waste too much time trying to down people with knives because it takes too long to do on anyone who is not running around in an open deadzone. It'd be quicker even as a 110% killer to just run after them and hit them with a normal melee attack.
But this is the problem with the Trickster, using his power puts him at too much of a disadvantage. He's already moving at 110% speed, but throwing knives makes him move slower, it takes 8 hits to cause someone to lose a health state but survivors will automatically start to recover Laceration stacks even in a chase if you're not quick enough. It's just not worth it
When you start throwing knives there's an obligation to be completely invested in causing that person to lose a health state with knives because if you manage to catch up to them in the course of a chase and just hit them with your weapon, then all their laceration progress is lost and the throwing of any of those knives was a pointless waste of time because you slowed yourself down to do so and you'd have hit them quicker if you'd not bothered with them to begin with.
My point in fact is not that it doesn't have counters...
-
With "without much room to counterplay" I was too vague, I feel the need for a clarification: what I really meant was that his counters seem to just delay the inevitable, all he need is to land a knife every once in a while to eventually down someone, which is very different to how every other killer works.
-
His post-uncloak speed boost does feel wierd, it's like it starts slow and than accelerates, and it doesn't feel like it lasts 1.25s, as it should.
-
I see a lot of discussion around gen tapping, but knowing that it deactivates DS you could just adapt and simply not do it. Not tapping a gen won't be the end of the world.
-
I just faced a Huntress in Haddonfield and it was everything normal...
-
It's a OS accessibility option, I really doubt it's detectable or even bannable. Anyway thanks for reminding me this option exhisted :)
-
I like the idea of needing to remove each knife and the added penalty if you do it yourself.
-
OhTofu. Overall a cool, funny dude who plays kinda chill although he is quite good.
-
If you have Deliverance you should take one for the team mid-match, saving it for the end is kind of a waste.

I don’t want to get hate mail and such from your toxic followers
I really doubt this happens commonly. Aside from some clicky-click with a flashlight I never noticed different behaviour tbh. Most streamers are normal players who have single digit viewers and stream just for fun.

I would agree, but only if we add in some method to deter people from using Borrowed Time needlessly. I don't want to give incentive for reckless unhooking.
I completely agree. It's a needed change since it makes no sense that some killers can camp/tunnel with no worries, but I wouldn't want people to bumrush the hook. Maybe it could become an exhaustion perk so it would include some risk if the killer decides to go for the unhooker.
-
I click ready asap and then alt-tab to do something else in the meantime. Sometimes if I see too many items I might equip Franklin's Demise but that's it.
-
That would make them one-dimentional characters, making them more boring and feel less alive.
-
The protection hit mechanic is not reliable enough to base a perk on it.
-
Nope, traps under hooks lead to very boring gameplay (kinda like Hag right now). I definetly don't want that back.
-
Yes, the problem with with the addon is that it can be used on point blank throws, which are incredibly easy to land/hard to dodge. Giving it a distance requirement would mean rewarding skilled throws.
-
I don't think DH needs changes. Can be frustrating at times, but the perk is doing what it is supposed to do and if someone uses it with skill instead of bumping into a tree good for them.
In any case the solution proposed by OP would just make it unusable for the majority of players, while skilled ones (the real target for the nerf) would be barely be affected. If anything must be done against said skilled players, add a brief moment after activation in which interactions aren't possible, so it can't be comboed with pallets or windows. Again, I don't think it's necessary and would make the perk way less interesting and reliable.
-
Nope. The 4% can make a boring situation into a spicy one. Stop thinking about winning at all costs and enjoy the hunt.
-
I'd love a fire-based ability.

On the other hand, you can mathematically demonstrate that killers without some sort of catch-up mechanic are left in the dust if survivors just run away in a straight line (not even taking pallets and windows into account).
And that's the whole point of the two hit mechanic which is at the base of the game.
-
Pretty sure the repair speed bonus is the last thing people think about regarding Spine Chill.
-
Unlinke other games FOV in this game is tied to balance, one of the core mechanics is that survivors have full view of their surrounding while killers are very focused on a small area. Unfortunately a FOV slider would change that balance.
-
That's the fault of some content creators, who started to complain about it and like a herd of sheep people started to complain too. It's a non-problem and it's stupid thinking it is.
-
Also your definition of M1 killer seems quite broad.
-
Diversion. It can waste a lot of the killer time if used right (like making so the explosion is where a gen is).
-
No, Ruin is a perk that rewards killers who can apply map pressure and in combination with Tinkerer it's increadibly strong in their hand. It's not OP just because you can rid of Ruin... remove this counter and you get a balance mess.
-
I don't think the two are comparable. Warframe is made of a big number of small "bubbles" of content, which interact very little (or at all) with other bubbles. That means that they can do anything they want with such bubbles without affecting the rest of the game.
DbD on the other hand is all intertwined, and just a little thing can shake the game. Just think of the impact of something small like a single perk can have (Hex: Undying just to make a recent example).
Also Digital Extremes tends to create "bubbles" and then forget about them for years, which is something I really don't like about them.
-
I go to hit them but I frames even though they were moving on my screen.
Should have waited more.
-
not one generator done
This might have been the problem. Watching as 2 survivors repair 5 gens is boring af. They probably wanted to get over with the match asap to look for a match in which to actually play.

My personal favourite is the Wraith.

The ear is the thumb kinda, from afar it looks more like it XD
This! At first sight I always see this, I have to focus to recognize what it actually is.

That would be kinda awful from a gameplay perspective especially with such a long timer.

There's no issue with him being slower, as he's able to use POTD whilst laying said trails. He would either need a separate stance for laying trails and for using POTD, which would just be overly complex and stupid, or have his zoning be genuinely busted.
He doesn't need this.
Well, he could start slow and progressively get faster over time so in chases he wouldn't get an advantage.
-
I think the game is improving on that aspect. Slowly, but still.
Entire chapters, characters, and maps are released broken, buggy, and unfinished.
This is what disappoints me the most. It seems to me the current roadmap with one big update every 6 weeks is too buisy for them to handle. The state in which they published their latest updates is kinda shameful. They should raise their standards and give themselves more time.
-
Aside from some problematic addons I'd say Huntress is among the most balanced killers atm. Has a lot of counterplay and rewards skillfull play for both sides.
-
What? STBFL is an extremely good perk which can be game-changing against bold survivors who like to take protection hits.
why does Nurse not benefit from STBFL? Why doesn't her quicker attack cooldown make her go into fatigue quicker?
Probably because the devs still haven't decided if her blink attack should be considered a normal attack or an ability. Her interaction with "hitting" perks is all over the place.
-
The game itself is relatively easy, but it's a PvP game where you play against other human beings and not dumb AIs. Just because of that it requires a lot of tactical decisioning and prediction. Imo people underestimate the skill needed because there is no competitive mode, but even chess can seem easy if played against "casuals".

I'm going with Hillbilly.
He has no education whatsoever, and was literally bricked into a small dark room, but managed to invent a weaponized chainsaw over the course of hours without a blueprint.
In addition, he also rigged the generators to alert him whenever someone was getting close to fixing them, and actually ran an entire farm on his own (although admittedly not very well) without any sort of instructions.
If Max was given an actual education, he would probably be one of the smartest killers in the game.
He had a television though. Bet he watched a lot MacGuyver.
