It’s literally going to make them much better? As well as keys, players will be rewarded for doing well, which is how it should be.

Why? They are both cosmetics. If no reason is offered other than because cosmetic, why is one bannable but not the other?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2228090#Comment_2228090
I agree, live and let live. But you can't ascribe intention to a strangers actions. Just because you think someone hates LGBTQ+ because they don't like rainbows does actually mean you are correct. I get you are most likely correct in this instance, but if we can ban for tunneling 1 cosmetic, what's to say we can't ban for tunneling any other cosmetic?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2228092#Comment_2228092
To me the left 4 dead charm mocks physically disabled people because it is missing a finger. Im offended if im wearing it and get tunneled. No one is going to ban that killer. Why? They are both cosmetics. Why is one bannable but not the other?
I’m going to need a ladder to be at the same height of the reach you just made lol.
-
Yes, anyone who tunnels because of the pride charm should be banned. No question about it.
-
Does one of the strongest perks in the game really need a buff?
-
@Animal_Mother said:
Are killers going to get banned if they say they tunneled Jane because she's fat or Feng because she has coronavirus? Seems kind of silly. Killers should be able to kill players for whatever reasons they like.
How does this comment have any vote ups? It’s literally saying racism is fine, and that killers can do whatever they want.
-
Can we not make a thread attacking people for being concerned about homophobia/transphobia in a game when it was already common before the charm? Literally nobody is saying the killer is doing it because they have the charm based on nothing else, but it’s pretty clear when they’re being called the f word in the endgame chat.
Stop trying to make LGBTQ+ people the villains in this situation
-
My favourite game is when a wraith uses the bell silencer, sends us to Hawkins and then tunnels me off the hook twice.
-
I don’t really care much about her being changed, she’s the rarest killer at red ranks, along with twins anyway.
-
Legion is terrible
-
Red rank killers can be just as sweaty, if not more

Works for me as well.
(though I do think you can have a crush on people regardless of your sexuality and their gender… but I see that others might think differently on that)
I agree with you. Even straight people can have intimate feelings for people of the same gender.
-
No, she’s not even close to the perk. Smash hit and fast track are solid. Self-preservation is terrible but having two decent perks is better than a decent amount of survivors.

Don't get me wrong, he is fine where he is. It is just people want even more of a punishment like a 5 second cooldown with massive slow for cancelling his power just because the survivor held W instead of pressing space.
I don’t think he should have a bigger punishment than right now. OP was suggesting shortening it, when it’s fine as is.

@Chocolate_Cosmos said:
Lol it is no way near trash perk tier as others here say.
It's very good on some maps, decent on others but there are some few maps / RNG where you can't much use it.
There are better exhaustion perks generaly speaking.
Yeah, if BL is trash then idk what perks like buckle up are
-
@TicTac said:
I think many would say balanced landing is the third best exhaustion perk, so its not underrated. But maybe im wrong.
Balance landing is imo the most map dependent exhaustion perk.
I agree it’s probably seen as the third best, but I think the gap is smaller between the top two and BL than people often think. That’s what I’m trying to argue anyway. Map dependent for sure, but there are some maps where it’s 2x as good as the other exhaustion perks that it’s worth it for me. You can also run it with dead hard for a solid combo, using whichever is better in the situation.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
Since they changed it, it is a Trash Perk. You can only use one Exhaustion Perk and there is no point in using Balanced Landing, when you can use Sprint Burst and Dead Hard who are both without a doubt better than BL. Even Lithe is probably better, since it is less situational.
Some Maps even dont have Drops, e.g. Shelter Woods only has the Basement Stairs as Drops and other Maps can have bad RNG and dont even spawn with Hills (like Storehouse or Gas Heaven).
I get thinking it isn’t the best exhaustion perk, but it’s absolutely not a trash perk. You will get use out of it in 90% of your game which is much higher than most perks. Lithe is ok, but very predictable and often used when you don’t actually want the sprint burst, forcing you to leave the loop early, or waste it.

Tired of this narrative that the killer needs to "earn" their power or attack. What did you as a survivor do to earn the right to hit space on a window?
We need a tally system for survivors where they must EARN their right to be agile and quick how about that huh?
Windows are very strong for PH, if a survivor uses them effectively against him, they’ve done well and deserve to avoid the hit.
-
He’s already a strong killer, and the only changes he needs are to his add ons which are hot garbage. The cooldown from using the sword is needed, as it can zone survivors out without the killer doing anything to earn it.
-
Probably to compensate for how long it takes survivors to find gens. Dead dawg saloon has the opposite problem, where almost every pallet is unsafe. Hawkins too.
-
Hopefully we can get a trans pride flag charm next
-
Visionary shows gens close to you (32m), deja vu shows you the three gens that are closest to each other, not to you. This helps to prevent ending in a three gen situation, making deja vu much better for advanced players.

I never said the perk was bad I literally said it was better than Visionary, a perk you have to pay for
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2224080#Comment_2224080
Visionary doesnt show you all of them, both perks show you 3 gen situations because if you see 3 generators within 32m it's a 3 gen.... visionary just has a random cool down.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2222477#Comment_2222477
Deja vu was buffed a while back, it shows you 3 gens every single time a generator is completed. Its must stronger than Visionary which does the same thing, except worse, and with a cooldown. You also have to buy visionary whereas deja Vu is a default pwrk
Again, visionary and deja vu do not do the same thing.

Isn’t it funny how any attempt we make to have a positive place to talk about LGBTQ+ rep in DBD, it always gets hijacked by people who claim to ‘not care’. Then the thread gets closed and we get no place to discuss our hopes for the future of gay people in the game. Really sad stuff.

the whole "it's not minorities' job to educate you" almost always comes after a challenge to a claim that sounds something like "POC are systemically oppressed" "white men rule the world" "you're privileged to be white, male, a christian" etc. Yes, the idea that you're a lowly powerless peasant if you're a minority, female, gay, etc. and a powerful lord if you're male, and white, and straight is complete propaganda.
That’s literally not what people believe at all. Women and minorities can absolutely find success, but they face challenges that straight white cis men do not. It has nothing to do with ability, in fact women and minorities often have to be better than their competition to even be considered due to subconscious bias. You’re the one spewing bullshit propaganda, purposefully misinterpreting what we’re saying as an attempt to uno reverse progressives as the ones actually discriminating which couldn’t be further from reality.

Although, they already were exposed when you made an account just to be homophobic.

Just a side note maybe video games could just be a place to game?
Then they can remove the references of straight relationships in the game in the case of Claudette’s parents, Felix, Nurse, etc. Gay relationships in games hurt nobody, there is no argument against this.

I'm willing to bet money on it 💰
Alright, I’ll take that bet

Also, just as a side note. The burden of educating isn’t on minorities. It’s 2021, google exists and nobody has an excuse for their ignorance anymore.

Most people support it I don't care either way. I just don't like that survivors are going to wear it on every character so they can try to get killers banned for camping or tunneling
Proof that this is a thing? It’s a much bigger concern that people will get tunnelled because they’re wearing it.

I have an issue with it.
Companies only seem to care during or near June. Why should it be relegated to one month? Perhaps, it's my outside looking in view, but that seems ######### up to only care when there is a possibility of good PR.
In my humble opinion (as someone who isn't a part of the LGBTQ community), Pride shouldn't be relegated to a single month and companies should support it year round. Perhaps it's still too early to do that, to make Pride "normal." That's the end goal, right? To be accepted and treated the same as everyone else?
If I'm totally off-base, I apologize, but I do have an issue with companies using Pride Month as a PR move and ignoring issues the rest of the year.
I agree it should be a year round event, but it’s already hard enough to get people to care for a month right now. It makes it a lot easier to be a big event and get people’s attention.
100% companies use it as a PR move, but really there’s nothing to avoid that in the current state of the world.

Because it's political activism being injected into an apolitical game, and opposing such a thing does not make one a "homophobe." Of course being gay isn't inherently political, but you cannot deny the political machine that operates under the banner of LGBTQ* exists, and the tiresome pandering by corporations every year around June is part of that.
As you said yourself, being gay is not political in anyway and trying to make it a political issue is absolutely wrong. Having an issue with a pride flag is clear cut homophobia, period. No media is apolitical anyway, it’s virtually impossible.

Oh I see what you mean, like these people that can't bear to be the centre of attention? Yeah that sounds about right. To be fair, it's not uncommon for me to see the same sorts of people in the community goad these egotists that aren't in it about being 'special' and 'in the group'. In the end it seems to be an ego thing if not a hatred over other sexual orientations, which is a thing but I don't think it is as rampant where I'm from anyway.
I have to disagree with heterosexuality being 'celebrated' so much as it is just the 'norm' staistics wise. You don't celebrate things that are taken for granted or are the majority of something. I don't think there's a need to celebrate it either, but those that strongly oppose it do come off as the same egotists we've mentioned before. Gotta make sure we got something over the oppressive 'others', right?
My brother's gay so I'll always share my support for this cause, I'm fine with the charm and I'd be fine with any other charm so long as it doesn't force me to care about more than I want to.
Not having to care about something because it doesn’t impact you is the prime example of privilege.

Just because something is the norm, doesn't mean it's "celebrated." Gay people are regularly characters in media, film, television. I don't ever see heterosexuality being "celebrated" as you claim it is.
Gay people are not regularly portrayed well at all. Gay people are stereotyped in main stream media as feminine, loud, weak, comedic relief, etc. Quite frankly, I don’t think straight people can determine what is and isn’t fair representation. Again, maybe you should reconsider your life choices if you made this account just to be an ######### on a pro LGBTQ+ thread.
-
Straight people are accepted unconditionally, and the traditional man + woman + kids family is still seen as ‘desirable’. Straight people are consistently represented in all media, and gay people are shafted in this area.
Given that this was your first post, I’m assuming you made an account just to respond.
-
Heterosexuality is celebrated and supported 12 months a year, and we can’t even have one month without controversy.
-
Meg. She’s the best survivor to start with for sure. You can get a Sprint Burst, Adrenaline, Spine Chill, We’ll Make It build on her alone which is incredible. You could live on those four perks forever, although of course it would get old. David is the second best choice.
-
What killer are you playing to get 20 minute games? Legion is one that makes games drag on way too long.
-
Not sure how PlayStation supposedly banning you for being gay correlates to the pride charm being removed?
-
Because they’re homophobic
-
Don’t feed the troll
-
Not really, it’s always been bad in literally every game because there’s a lot of bigots who play games
-
A Nurse’s Calling, Hex: Haunted Ground, Territorial Imperative, Whispers is the best I could come up with
-
Wouldn’t change it at all. Killers hold w as much as survivors, some of them will commit to five minute chases with little mindgames and then complain about being genrushed.
-
@Caleegi said:
No. I don't mind there being LGBTQ+ survivors but i think a new survivor should be made and existing ones should not change for it. I think Jake like others have said is a loner and by that i mean like he literally hates people. I dont look at him and go 'oh thats a good person to be LGBTQ'. I think if you must change a current survivors sexuality or whatever for the sake of it, then it should be Dwight.
This doesn’t make any sense to me? It wouldn’t be making a ‘change’ to Jake, as his sexuality was never stated. Most survivors do not have a set sexuality, and again, the mindset that unless otherwise stated, someone is straight is extreme gatekeeping for queer characters in this game.
Not sure how Dwight makes more sense than Jake. Dwight also has social issues, and Jake being in touch with nature isn’t really the same as hating people.
-
They’re completely different perk. I don’t blame you for not knowing though, even the big content creators think deja vu just shows gens close to you.
Its a pretty good perk.
-
I find Jake much more believable as potentially being gay than Dwight.
-

Well I think genuine loner as he wants to be left alone. Though I see what you mean. If the devs wanted to add an LGBTQ+ character it'd be easier and safer to avoid conflicting lore to create a new one.
I don’t think it’s conflicting lore at all, there’s nothing to believe Jake is straight or not in his lore. I don’t like the mindset that we assume straight unless told otherwise.
-
@ProfoundEnding said:
I think they're planning to do it with a new character, not an existing one.
They could do both though.
-
@WishIcouldmain said:
I don't see it with Jake to me he seems more of a loner if anything.
Yes, which could tie in perfectly to a lore related to how queer people are isolated by society, similar to how Jane’s lore deals heavily with the racist stereotyping she deals with in her career.
