There is some undodgable powers like legion or Plague. But both are non-lethal (plague is lethal i you're dumb enough to cleance) And they're completely fine. But you should always have chance to dodge/mindgame/outplay lethal power.
Blight without exploits and Huntress with correct hits could be fine as well
Yeah, that is your problem. You think you are entitled to kill power evasion on your end.

She is in a really bad spot right now, which means BHVR is gonna give her the thumbs up and ship her as is.

She can walk through walls? What?

It still sounds to me like just want all killer powers to be dodgeable.

Yes. when you know killer is able to hit you because of experience and make a right move is fun. Random hits you can't predict because of many factors are not
I never know if im going to get hit or not by huntress. She's getting random hits she shouldn't and that's frustrating
Have you tried playing Civilization?

You're not delaying the game by unhooking 2 seconds after the guy just got hooked. you're only guaranteeing another down. Unless you're certain that guy is being camped, it isn't a good idea.
A fresh hook has more seconds to be on that said hook than someone on second hook.
That is more game delay.
This is basic math.
-
Huntress.
Just a straight up axe to the face. No bullcrap. AXE. TO. FACE.
No ripping out a tongue. No sending you to Brazil. No cowardly Demo that can't even chew and swallow.
AXE. FACE.

Why do you feel you are entitled to predictable killer powers?
-
@Snowbawlzzz said:
I don't care if your favorite youtuber does it, it's a bad play to trade hooks unless it's endgame. Every third game is ruined by some overconfident pink-haired Nea that sabotages our chances at winning by unhooking in the killer's face and getting downed that second, giving the killer 1-2 free hooks. The point of trading hooks is traditionally to buy time at the end of the game when the killer is forced to camp. When you do it at 5 gens, the game's already over. You've given the killer a headstart.
I don't know who here needed to hear this, but judging by the fact that it's usually people decked out in cosmetics with hours under their belt, I figured there's a good chance of finding one here.
Absolutely FALSE.
It is an AMAZINGLY good idea to trade hooks if you have no hooks and the other person is gonna die in 30 seconds. That is a huge game delay. Whether it is end game or not is irrelevant.
Also, a good hook trade gets me 2 stacks of We're Gonna Live Forever.

Killer needs some sort of bloodlust effect for non-chase that goes away when they enter chase.
I do agree that the killer's perks are generally just "win more" perks, I wouldn't agree that those survivor perks like DS/BT/etc. are healthy though as they're just as powerful if not more so when you're winning. BT can make a killer lose the pressure they have from hooking someone and maintain that disadvantage for longer due to the extra hit + speed boost. Decisive Strike can extend chases and give you a free escape during the EGC. Dead Hard currently is not healthy as when executed properly it gives you an extra health state every 40 seconds you're not in chase, so if you break chase (and thus "win" that chase) you get back your dead hard, so you can "win more".
Dead Hard needs to be reworked into something just entirely different.
-
That was almost two full years ago. I wasn't even playing then.
-
This man has some takes the community is not going to agree with.
I 100% agree with bloodlust. It's haters love to say the killer does not deserve that kind of hand holding mechanic while they themselves are running Iron Will, Dead Hard, Decisive Strike, and Unbreakable.
Perks should help swing the course of the game to keep a momentum going back and forth instead of aiding steamrolls.

Well the gen speed nerf was a huge one. It's also that pretty much every time a survivor perk comes out that people freak out about it gets immediately demolished like Boil Over. Pretty much nobody uses CoH anymore because it was never that good to begin with. Everybody just spent 16 seconds blessing totems only for them to be destroyed instantly. Just bring a med-kit, those have existed since the game came out.
When was there a gen speed nerf?
-
Stop releasing Killers? That is the game's primary source of new content.

Lol what? You know WHY i run me, me , me perks? Its because im constantly being let down by survivors! I play super well and the killer hooks me at the end and my teammates just leave with no effort to save! Nah.....F that im plus i dont even play with so called me, me , me perks because My Sabo builds revolve around saving survivors only sometimes to die for it (or them) Sabo/Breakout/Breakdown/Empathy
Literally NOT ONE PERSON runs dedicated Sabo builds in an effort to save teammates and have staple games so fall back on judging me as a player when you know absolurely nothing about me!
The three perks you mentioned in the OP were:
1: Unbreakable and or DS
2: Dead Hard
Those are definitely MEMEMEMEME perks.

That is fair, but zoning killers are only going to lead to prethrown pallets and an eventual down. Very little actual interaction other than kicking pallets. Maybe for you all you want is to down survivors no matter the cost, but for other people who genuinely enjoy the chasing it ruins the game.
Give me one good reason why, as a Killer, I want a 60 second chase instead of a 15 second chase if my goal is to kill you.

Twins- I greatly dislike the play style they primarily use and I wish the little one would rot.
Trickster- I get generally annoyed by being repeatedly hit by the knives. Their screen and sound effects are grating.
did you think this was a perk discussion?
Blight can #$%$ all the way off.

Yes. Zoning killers take away everything thats fun in chases. There is no push and pull or skill difference with them. It's just predrop the pallet and hold W. Survivors don't want to instantly die when looping and killers aren't going to just not kill survivors. Its frustrating for both sides since neither will have their fun.
My fun is when you eat the floor. I am not entertained by having you circle the shack four times just to drop the pallet.

Buff base kits instead of perks?
Okay, but my point is... let's say you do something like.... make Huntress a 115 killer.
That will give Huntresses a better chance to catch top tier, high MMR SWFs.
But it ALSO means that the lower MMR people get stomped TWICE AS HARD.

With the grade rewards I have around 3 million BPs now. I was thinking about not playing until the Ringu release so that I can put all of this into the new killer and survivor. I was playing too much lately so a break would be fine. Unless of course they remove the BP cap, then probably I would play in the meantime as well. Anyone else in a similar situation?
What you are trying to do is WHY there's a bloodpoint cap.

Things that people 5-10 years younger than you are into are by default 'cringe'.
But in all seriousness :) The theme of DBD is 'old school slasher flick' villains. And those persons/creatures would also need to be easily incorporated in the mold of one of the DBD Killer. Nemesis opens up the realm of video games, but I think the only other one that doesn't really fit the mold is Demogorgon (but Stranger Things was a big fad there for a while, so not sure if it caused a bit of an uproar when it was current. Maybe someone who's been around that long here could shed some light :) )
Well, as far as video games go Silent Hill beat Resident Evil to the punch on that one.

After a good hour of watching her I can say I am willing to admit that I am wrong and say that Tokki is a joy to watch. Good recommendation.
-
@BoriskyTheFox said:
Im glad they disabled her for a while. Playing against a killer that can teleport through walls and hit you no matter what you do isnt fun. This is our chance to go against killers that have more interactive mechanics.
"Interactive" is just a word Survivors use when they want to force a Killer to chase them around the same pallet 17 times before they Dead Hard through it.
-
Those two videos are 100% an internet issue and not a Huntress design issue.
-
@BoriskyTheFox said:

No there isnt. Killers are stronger than they have ever been. Kill rate stats are above average.
Those two things have nothing to do with player retention rates.
You can win and still have no fun at all. The issue is not that killers are not winning. The issue is that things like CoH and Dead Hard validation SUCK to go against and make the game unfun.
There are loads of Killers that have quit the game, in a disproportionate ratio to Survivors. Look at @Pulsar and he was an avid Killer player. Many have quit. You do not see these long threads, Youtube videos, and Q&A segments saying the same from the Survivor side.
And for the record, your statement is incorrect. Killers are not stronger than ever. There is a huge drop in kill rates since the last data collection. Right now the average is 50-55. Don't forget that pre-nerf Freddy had an over 70% kill rate.
-
Can someone explain to me what is so bad about Springtrap? Granted, I only ever played one of his games but it is a legit horror game. I think the lore fits just fine with DBD.
What exactly is the issue?

For me it's when people say Deathslinger now takes skill to play and I'm like dog did he already not before lol?
The thing with Deathslinger is people are like "You can still hit your shots". Like, yeah, I can. But my ability to map pressure, which ALREADY SUCKED, is now so bad I can't keep up with the Survivors. I hobble along at 110, then slow down even MORE to reload, to fire a ranged attack that requires me to reel you in to get the hit and down!
At least Huntress can get her hit and go about her day, and doesn't reload every single time!

''Killers are leaving the game because this game is so survivor sided''
There is actually data to support this though.
-
You have every right to dodge whatever lobby you want. The feature is there for a reason.
The survivors are then in one of two scenarios:
1.) Their queue times are fast, you've hurt them none and they have nothing to complain about.
OR
2.) They have a long queue time, and should probably reflect on WHY exactly a Killer would do that.
-
Killer is impossible to fix.
I have no idea what you could do to make Killer experience better that is going to apply fairly to all skill levels.
Currently anything you to buff Survivors turns Bully SWFs into even more unstoppable demons, and anything you do to buff Killers turns low MMR Killers into pubstomping monsters.

I agree. Like when people say everything is toxic on this forum, xD.
But the subject at hand is not such an example in my opinion.
Having different interpretations about the meaning of the word safety, with one being strictly about obligation and the other being more comprehensive is not hyperbolic.
Now if we were talking about the safety concerns derived from banning people from playing a game or posting their opinions on a forum I think I would agree with you.
I do enjoy our exchange BTW. Looking forward to your follow up. Though I sense we have about reached the end of how much this exchange can be stretched.
Safety:
"the condition of being safe from undergoing or causing hurt, injury, or loss"
I do not consider seeing a picture something that causes hurt, injury, or loss.

My favorite aspect of the chat filter is when you say a word, and it is censored, but another player says it and it is not:
Dave: Yep, that's ##### for you.
Dave: What? #####.
Dave: This makes no sense. #####.
Susan: Are you trying to say Myers?
Dave: Oh, #### off, chat filter.

Well in the end it all falls to individual standards. Sure many people are satisfied if they can't be blamed for something. Many others have higher standards and would rather behave in a way that they themselves consider acceptable even if it's beyond "obligation".
I for one think that it's a good thing that those responsible for the management of the forum content are on the second group rather than the former.
A bit outside the subject at hand, but as a high school teacher I often deal with both students and parents with bully behavior who will shame, ostracize and verbally abuse vulnerable children without ever resorting to direct physical violence. When those same victims then hurt themselves or suffer from bodily manifestations of their mental distress the bullies also often will just shrug and say something like "not my fault if he wuss". Sure, they can't be legally blamed for it, but that doesn't make it right.
Just trying to illustrate the difference between what's strictly obligation and what's not and why some people would rather play it safe and call things a security matter.
Nevertheless, you have your own opinion and I respect it.
My opinion is simply that words have very plain definitions, and the more you use them in hyperoblic fashion the less meaning they have. Like when people say they "literally died" laughing at a joke (No, you didn't) or when they compare anyone they dislike to a member of a certain German regime that rose to power in the 1930s.
Hyperbole helps nothing.
-

Not everything has to be physically harmful? You have to be the most pedantic person on this forum, honestly.
Because word definitions matter. If you say something mean to me, and that is now "harmful", can I have you arrested for inflicting harm?

And yet mental wellbeing and ensuring all users are properly safeguarded against potentially incredibly harmful content does fall under the broad umbrella term of "safety"
And now you are just playing fast and loose with "harmful".
I want to see the report of the person that saw a picture on these forums and was immediately rushed to the hospital.

You kinda sound like that middle management person who does not consider the mental health of their subordinates a security concern.
Direct bodily harm to a person is not the only criteria for stating a situation is a security concern.
Also psychological effects may reflect physically on some people.
While I agree that the majority of mentally stable adults and adolescents would hardly be shaken by a picture and would just shrug it off, it can't be generalized that is the case for everyone.
Also the tough guy mentality is rarely constructive or helpful.
That is an extremely loose and broad attempt to use the word "safety".
OSHA is not gonna come in and cite a business for a "mental health safety violation".

Let's not pretend trash talk is a "survivor" thing and not just a "competitive" thing. Just about everyone does a little trash talk DURING the game. The main thing is not being toxic AFTER the game
I follow EIGHT Killer mains on Twitch that do not trash talk at all. Stop trying to normalize that "locker room talk" garbage.
If you know some Survivor Mains that stream that NEVER talk trash and don't engage in toxic behaviors during game, I would be happy to give them a Follow.
So far, I have not found any. NOT ONE.
