Just delete dead hard, problem solved
I don't want it deleted, as there are archive challenges tied to it. But it could be reworked to do something entirely different.

I would love to watch a Survivor streamer that didn't do toxic behaviors or talk trash.
Unfortunately that is literally all of them.

He is the Killer, not another Survivor. The post is mocking boon totems.

Here i am after idk how long not active and all i see is people still posting the same things. People still asking for the same changes, still discussing the same issues. Nothing changes here...I sincerely hope you people realise this too and ask yourself if it's worth continuing. There's not a single thing i can say has changed, General Discussions are always about the same things, Feedback is still getting ignored...I won't say DbD is DEAD, it is to me, but it's stuck in an endless loop of nobody being happy about anything.
Don't tell me how to spend my free time at work! I get paid $22/hour to hang out on these forums!

In my experince early AM games are more solo queue. Once people start waking up the SWFs start to crawl out from under their squat machines ready to get their teabagging in.
-
So, you want to Kobe right into Bubba's waiting arms?
I don't think that this is the "fix" that you think it is.
-
I asked Mandy this very same question and got no response.
It would be logically easier to deal with one perk that is already causing a nightmare in this game than it is to try to recode multiple killer powers. This move does not make any sense from either a workload perspective or a game design perspective. Dead Hard is a poison in this game and I have no idea why such efforts are made to defend it.

CoH counters everyone except for Plague of course.
Oni is hit especially hard by it though as he needs those blood orbs to maintain his power.

Well I guess I just further proved how little I know about RE by my first statement.
1. I had it a dozen times. Just because you never got in that situation, it doesn't mean the issue doesn't exist.
4-5. 30 seconds is almost a third of a generator. In any other map, unless you are on the exact opposite, traversing shouldn't take more than 15-20 seconds.
I have spent entirely too many games on a 110 killer like Huntress or Deathslinger to believe you can cross a map like Red Forest that fast. Maybe a map like Lery's or something. 15-20 seconds is enough time to completely open an exit game. I find that unlikely outside of a Nurse, Blight, or Billy.
RPD is easy to get across, there are holes in floors, places to drop down, and even the main room has places you can drop from that do not even require a vault.

But not everyone played RE. I shouldn't be forced to buy another game in order to learn the layout of a DBD map. It is hard to learn the layout of a map you get so rarely. But let's say with time you learn the layout.
Let's be objective: you love RPD because of nostalgia. It is an objectively BAD map for this game. It was built for a whole different game and it doesn't fit in DBD.
1. Down anyone near the main hall gate and try to hook them. Unless you have the gate hook, which may or may not spawn, the nearest hook is too far away to carry anyone to.
2. Library.
3. Gens are impossible to find.
4. Even with you knowing the layout, you still have to reach a certain place on the map by going in a completly differnt direction every time. This increases the time it takes to move from place to place by a hundred.
5. With 4 in mind, the map is EXTREMELY big, so needing half an hour to traverse it doesn't help it either.
I think you missed the part where I said I didn't play the game this map was designed from.
Nostalgia has nothing to do with it.
#1: Never had this issue
#2: Library is useless. No reason to go there except to check for totem spawns.
#3: Gens are insanely easy to find and have a preset number of spawn points. Seriously, it is one of the most reliable gen spawn maps in the game. Midwich is FAR worse.
#4/#5: If you know where the hallways lead you can reach any spot on the map in like 30 seconds.

I'm trying to avoid that option, I implemented further measures tonight to keep this place safe, because NOBODY deserves to see those images, not the users on this forum and not the moderators either.
I'm looking for a longer term solution and working with the hosting company so that we can avoid this person coming back time and time again to do this.
Images are important here, for practical things such as bug reports, technical issues etc and because we love to see the animal posts and the screenshots when you want to explain something. But we have to consider safety of our users and our mods above everything right now. Please rest assured this is something we're taking very seriously.
"Safety"?

That makes a lot of sense, maybe in the first 2 mins a bot replaces them. Or if killer dc then they are replaced by a bot killer with a basic loadout. Im a killer by the way
I really don't care if it feeds you more Pops, or BBQ stacks. Anything a bot does is probably better on average than just straight up losing 25% of the team.

I respectfully disagree. We should be able to block players who are cheating or sabotaging the team via trolling. There is no ranking system to see who is number one/top 500, like a sports, FPS, or a fighting game.
The game should have a block list you can toggle to take players off, and it should let you know your que times may increase due to blocking other players. There should be a cap as well like maybe 20- so it doesn’t punish good players with a smaller pool, for being good. But that’s not going to happen. Only in a perfect world.
A perfect world wouldn't need your block list idea in the first place.

I have played more than just one game with the Nemesis, no I have not PLAYED the Nemesis, as I do not have the money to spend on him nor do I wish to get him. I've stopped reading most of the comments before typing this, as they all seem fairly repetitive.
Who is going to crouch mid chase when they don't even know a tentacle strike is coming? The only other killer in the game that gets more powerful the higher tiers they go is Myers, and even he's nerfed by making it where he can't stay in tier 3 indefinitely. Nemesis can. A momentary speed burst from an infection strike doesn't mean anything. In every game that me and many others have played, even early game, we cannot escape him. And I have personally encountered a lower cooldown after a hit; playing as tap with level 3 tenacity, I didn't even leave his feet before he was able to pick me up after a basic attack. One of ya'll said something about hitting Tier 3 makes him "as fast as a survivor", all killers are faster than survivors, else they would literally never be able to catch them. It is literally impossible to escape Nemesis. In every single game, the only way anyone's ever managed to "get away" is if someone else distracts him or if he's toying with everyone and hits us and leaves. On top of all of this, Nemesis has map wide pressure that literally no other killer in the game has anything CLOSE to, with the zombies able to alert him as they start following survivors. You have to keep an ear out for Nemesis's terror radius while keeping an eye out for zombies, because as the generators get closer and closer to being done, they get louder and louder to the point where they drown out the groans of the zombies. I quite literally had a match where a zombie dropped out of the sky on top of me as I was hiding in a bush right in front of Nemesis. Had this not happened, he would never have known I was there, and never would have caught me. I'm not the only person who has had these things happen to me. Everything I have said has all been corroborated by other people that I play with who have gone against Nemesis. You can say that he's not broken, but when you have literally 3 back to back Nemesis players at Ash 4 running only 1 perk and no add-ons absolutely WRECK a party of 2 Iridescent 4s and 2 Gold 1s, then the killer is broken. And we've asked them, and only 1 of them was a "veteran" playing on a new account.
I'll be returning to read the rest of what I ignored later, as I've just had more BS games against Nemesis tonight and don't really wanna deal with reading people defending a broken killer atm.
"Who is going to crouch midchase?"
Literally anyone at a pallet or window. They do it to my Nemesis all the time.
"A momentary speed boost does not mean anything".
It means everything. If I slap you with a mere contamination hit, you are guaranteed a tile. Even from a dead zone.
"All killers are faster than survivors"
You didn't understand that I said. I mean the Tier 3. When Nemesis pulls his tentacle out, his speed drops DRAMATICALLY. As in, slower than a Survivor dramatically. If we are 10 meters apart, I need 5 meters to hit you. You are now GAINING distance on me. What tier 3 mutation does is increase his TENTACLE CARRYING SPEED to be the same as a survivor. So if you are 4m ahead of me and I pull the tentacle we are now matching speed instead of you gaining distance. That is the point of getting to tier 3.
"Nemesis has map wide pressure no one else has anything close to."
Absolutely mega false. He has two idiots that run into trees and rocks. That is not mapwide. You know who does have map wide pressure? Pinhead and his chain hunts. That affects the whole map and every survivor at once.

The number of times I have played well enough with demos shred just for it to get canceled out is ridiculous
For me it is using my Nemesis tentacle to hit someone over the pallet, and then they use Schroedinger's Dead Hard, the perk that says you both did and didn't get hit at the same time as they Survivor takes no damage, but somehow also absorbed the hit that should have broken the pallet but didn't.

Dead Hard affecting killer powers was brought up in the last Q&A so it is something that the team is aware of, they explained that due to it affecting powers and each killers power is individual it takes time to go through this, as it means each power has to be done separately.
Rather than go through that much work, have you considered just going after Dead Hard instead of trying to microfix each power it affects?
-
This is only an issue if THREE conditions are met:
1.) You go down in or near the library, which honestly you probably should not be near all that often anyway. The gen spawn in there is not all that common.
2.) The killer has to choose to hook you there instead of hooking you closer to a patrollable gen.
3.) The Killer has to decide to basically game throw by camping one staircase while the Survivors have free reign over the entire rest of the map.
So yeah, I don't consider this anywhere near as bad as the Boil Over example. The two are not equatable at all.

I wouldn't be particularly surprised.
BHVR's problem has always been that they are so slow at making changes.
I cannot believe you would stoop to such a low claim. You know damn well that being able to mix and matched linked sets is an exploit BHVR takes very seriously, and will be corrected IMMEDIATELY.
How dare you.

DC after someone else has DC shouldn't be a MM ban..

I agree.
I don't think they have much to gain by saying 10% of all PC players cheat. In all likelihood, that'll just make people hound BHVR harder to get the cheating under control which isn't good for them.
It is a little disturbing though, if the claim is true, that it takes less than 24 hours for them to workaround a BHVR "fix".
-
@Pulsar said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2794544#Comment_2794544
Considering PC makes up (likely) less than half of the playerbase, 10% of all PC players cheating honestly isn't as wild of a claim as it seems.
Not that I saying he is incapable of lying, but I think the guy that sells the cheats as some part of hacking coalition is the one most likely to have the most accurate numbers. I doubt the majority of cheaters are outing themselves in any other way than receipts.
-
Not only is this perfectly acceptable, there are multiple ways to deal with it. Aside from the fact you can M1 your way out of this problem you could use several of the perks mentioned already in this thread.
Non-issue.

@Pulsar said:

I didn't.
I guessed.
We know Steam's numbers. EGS and Windows Store + Stadia are all smaller than Steam. I averaged Steam out to 50K and added 30K on top of it. If we take the 10% estimate from the cheater, we get 8000 players cheating.
We know Playstation is a huge platform, likely equal to Steam based off of PS4's and PS5's sold. That's another 50K. Xbox is likely around 2/3 of Playstation and Switch is.... :( so that likely makes Console's around 90K players-ish. That's about 170,000 average players in total.
That's about 5% of players cheating.
As for the actual numbers, nobody knows. I just tried to ballpark it, a proof of concept if you will.
Makes sense. It's a better formula than I've heard thus far. I'm not sure we will ever know the true value. Other than... you know... "too freaking many".
-
@Pulsar said:

I did some very rough estimates in a prior comment.
It comes out to be around 4% of the total DBD playerbase. Only around 8000 people cheating via my estimates, which, full disclosure, are likely totally wrong.
Curious, how do you gather this data?
-
@ReverseVelocity said:
You do realise that cheat manufacturers are going to give inflated statistics as to how many people cheat, so they can encourage people to buy their cheats right? Dowsey just taking that unverified number as fact is pretty stupid of him, stop spreading misinformation.
In order for it to be misinformation, you have to prove it is misinformation. Let me guess, you think Joe Rogan needs to be taken down from Spotify?

People seem resistant to the idea that end game builds are valid.
