No, perk is still rewarding bad play. I am not happy with change at all, they did not even change base problem of Noed.
Endgame collapse is not bad play.
People only hate NOED cause they want to "epic moments" in endgame saves, and taking away protection hits makes those Survivors cry foul. NOED has never been a problem for the #JUSTLEAVE crowd.

I am looking FORWARD to this update.
Anyone quitting is just sad they are losing their precious Dead Hard / Iron Will that has been carrying them for half a decade.

Some killers should synergize better with specific perks and i had a lots of matches that this exact type of blight still lost either way, because the survs were good in this match regarding game sense. Salty nerf.
Just because something can be beaten doesn't make it fair, balanced, or good game design.

Not impossible to win these blights, just take more game knowledge from survivors, which must survivors dont have, must survs just want a easy braindead game
Has nothing to do with the fact that being able to run back to a 70% gen at Warp 9 an infinite number of times is a broken mechanic.

The nerf for pain resonance and tinkerer were not needed, ruin is now bad. The nerf to survs was necessary and buffs to killers were needed. Thana and gift of pain were needed to buff and should not change. They made balance how it should be, they shaked good not bad
I have faced enough Tinkerer running Blights to know this was 100% needed.

I'm all for shaking up the Meta of the game but this is not the proper way to do it. Making less frequently used perks viable by nerfing current meta perks into obscurity is the wrong way to go about balancing a game. The way you balance a game and appropriately change a Meta is by buffing the less used and niche perks so they are just as viable in their respective ways and make them more general and non-niche. General use perks will most often than not win over niche perks since they will see more use. I just believe in my own personal opinion they went through the patch without any sort of balance in mind and just decided to change the perks the community was complaining about the most either through nerfing surv perks or buffing killer stuff.
"Making less frequently used perks viable by nerfing current meta perks into obscurity is the wrong way to go about balancing a game."
Absolutely false. It is the BEST way to balance the game. Trying to buff existing perks up to level of Dead Hard is insane thinking.

something ive noticed alot recently is that killers arent moonwalking or hiding their red stain in chase anymore??
just seems weird since when i first started, mindgaming has always been a thing consistently in my matches but for the past i dunno 6 months it feels like i havent seen a killer actively do it in a match.
to the killer mains, is it pointless to try to mindgame?
There is no reward to it. Why would I want to play a mindgame I could lose (or get cheated out of with a perk like Dead Hard), when I can just kick your pallet and? I'd rather lose 3 seconds of chase time than 10+. The risk is not worth it. I mess up a mind game, you get a whole tile of distance. Not worth it.

I don't understand why we cannot control our own level of censorship. I should have the right to turn it on or off. I'm not afraid of mean words.

There is no such thing as over-nerfing Dead Hard.

Still no one tell me how it is abused, maybe I, or someone else, would tweak it with another idea. Just an simple example.
If I chase another survivor, I'll be definetely outside 12m (except shack, maybe, but shack chase algorithm is already known by everyone except new players), or if I can't catch survivor around the hook for a long time, I think I should raise my skill more and I'm definetely not belong on this MMR.
Also with paused timer is basically a slugged survivor. I would behave the same as when I slug someone, or is slugging not viable?
Please, give me example.
As another option, don't show killer hook progress, continue timer if survivor is neaby, or even make it 1.5 faster. And I don't think why insidious shouldn't has cooldown if it is not used for facecamping.
ANY game mechanic that slows down the timer, or messes with it in any way, if the killer is close, causes Survivors to then loop the Killer around the hooked target, thereby not only wasting the killer's time with the chase but punishing him for being near the hook because he took on said chase.
As I said, it was done before, it was a terrible idea, the devs removed it.

wake up bro, all those videos are Hyperboles to express a point. But then again, I don’t expect u to see reason.
heres another just for the sake of argument since the last 3 wereny ebough
Still having to hit them, I see. Where are these FREE KILLS you keep claiming? I haven't seen one yet. I still see the Killer having to put in work.
WHERE IS MY FREE KILL FOOTAGE?!
I want to equip NOED and watch people die while I eat a bowl of cereal, god damn it!

Oh yeah, its super counter intuitive for a killer to get into a chase with any surv. I mean, ur faster and can down in one hit BUT u have to chase I mean??? What is the killer supposed to do next? Score a hit? where does it end? Where is the line?
it is free as long as u dont have to do ANYTHING outside what is expected of u. Period.
u know u could say the same about DH u know? U still need to be injured to proc and u still have to wait 40 secs standing still to recharge. Yet, its common sense it was an unbalanced perk. These are facts my brother
I'm gonna test out your theory.
I'm gonna run NOED next game.
Then I am going to AFK once the last gen pops and go make myself some dinner.
When I come back, I expect to be in the final score screen with my four "free kills".
-
@EvilSerje said:
Slow sacrifice timer. The closer to hook, the more slow it goes, and completely stops within 12 meters. Also Insidious should work only 10 seconds (no more needed to use it midchase), then 10 seconds cooldown.
There's always one person that tries this idea. This was done once before. It was abused by survivors and is not coming back.
-
Again, still not a free kill. You need to get off your backside and do something to make it work. You can laugh at me all you want, but these are how the perks work. NOED only works in end game, is removable, and does nothing to an already injured person. These are facts, not opinions.
-
I want you to read that first sentence again. SLOWLY.
"Explain to me how downing a surv with one hit and no downside is not a free kill?"
It wasn't free. Free would be if I got up to pee and came back and someone is dead. You have to win a chase and nail that hit to get that down. Which already doesn't mean anything if they were already injured because they would have already gone down ANYWAY. NOED doesn't make heads spontaneously explode with "free kills". Not to mention a down isn't a kill. A kill requires three hook states (or two and a Mori).
No Way Out can buy you just as much extra end game time as NOED, potentially a LOT MORE if NOED is destroyed quickly, which is now very likely with the growing aura.

Noed and dead hard are the same. Poorly designed perks that reward you for losing
Going to end game is not losing. The developers have said the game is literally designed around 2 escapes and 2 kills, thereby making the clearing of all 5 gens an EXPECTED OUTCOME.
-
Embarrassing is thinking there is a such thing as a "free kill".
In no way are those two perks anything alike.
NOED isn't a "You suck at killer" perk. It's an endgame perk, same as No Way Out or Remember Me. Most perks in the game can vaguely be called a "second chance" perk. That doesn't make them equivalents.

oh i see u trolling right? Please tell me ur either trolling or ur a noob. Cause u can literally play as both. So nothing in this game is a us vs them issue lmao. U should familiarize urself with the magical concept of Balancing.
yes I can lol NOED is literally the second chance equivalent for DH. Ur so biased u cant even see the obvious
You clearly have never followed my post history.
I'm a SURVIVOR MAIN.
And yes, I play both.
That doesn't mean the game isn't literally a two sided PvP game. And no, NOED and DH are not equivalents. One is a chase perk that can be used several times a match, the other is an endgame perk that rats itself out on first use and can be cleansed.
You cannot remove Dead Hard from the game.
The only thing they have in common is they are perks.

Yup. Because it is.
As long as Killer Mains can LITERALLY be lectured about how their behavior is TIME GATED ("Really? You do that at 5 gens?"), I really don't wanna hear about one strat on one killer you see in one game out of 20. Maybe.

Because its an issue. Lol same as Killer mains whining about dead hard a while back. If u actually think facecamping a hook is anywhere near healthy gameplay to anyone u should try and develop some game sense lmao
also, plz dont make this a “us vs them” issue. It’s the most played out discourse in here
The game is literally us versus them. I have no idea why people think this is somehow counter to how the game works. IT IS LITERALLY US VERSUS THEM.
Also, you cannot compare Dead Hard, a perk appearing multiple times in EVERY SINGLE MATCH, to one Killer.

The collective idea that Survivors can tell Killers who to play, how to play, and WHEN to play.... but everything Survivors do is 100% legit and "just part of the game".
You are not the first person to make this thread whining about Bubba. It's pretty much core to the Survivor community at this point.
-
"everything overpriced the license killers are all weak and unobtainable by normal methods"
I hate to break this to you, but most games have you pay for their Downloadable Content expansions. This is very much a "normal method".

Seems like you don't understand comletely. OK, I guess u are killer main. So tell me, is it any reason why killers try hard and tunnel and camping when it's START of the game??? Like complete start??? Because off bad and toxic killer Behavior most of survs who got hooked in first seconds just suicide and killers take that as normal thing, like it should be that way, like I just bloody turn on my game and waste my time to please the low esteem killer??? I came in to game to play, but not been abused and wasting my time, cuz my time cost more than yours "GG EZ" in end game. Yezzz... Now I see clear that this game is not for adult people like me. Bruhhhh
I'm a Survivor Main.
You know why they do that at the start of the game?
Because so do we. What do we do? We split up and in seconds 3-4 of us are on gens. 90 seconds later we have 60-80% of our objective done, more than half. How many Killers do you know that get 7 hook states in 90 seconds? Answer: zero.
That is why camping and tunnelling exists.

Oh, sorry mister that English is not my main language. Yezzz
That wasn't an English correction. It was an answer.
You want to know why camps and tunnels happen at 5 gens. The answer is so those gens do not get done.
I have no idea why Survivor Mains act like the number of gens left dictate what behaviors Killers are allowed to do. It's not like Survivors are banned from doing certain things before a certain number of hook states. When was the last time you saw a thread that said "Survivors, why are you rushing generators at 0 hooks?". The answer is never. Get off the double standard.

What a silly take. A perk that gets countered by another perk you are using is not the definition of useless. It means DO NOT RUN THOSE PERKS TOGETHER.

I don't think the shrine is a good solutions, it is still random as far as I know and with 204 perks you can wait really long. Also, accumulating shards takes awhile, especially if you play mainly one side, and some people like to buy cosmetics without spending real money, so it might be unpleasant having to decide between cosmetics or reducing the grind.
I can't guarantee that my calculations are right, but if they are, you need 1.300 level to unlock all the perks on one survivor with the old system. With the new system you need already 1.479 Level to get all the characters to prestige 1 and at that point you still need to unlock 174 perk tiers (since you go back to level 1 after you prestige it is a bit harder to calculate how many levels you need, but I think 146). So what I'm trying to say is, it is worse if you play strictly one character and I already mentioned above why I don't think it is a good idea to rely on the shrine to solve that.
For me personally the change is not bad, I like having more perks on the survs that I have not leveled much (but many of my characters are only at 40, so I'm profitting that much from the new system because of the way the Devs transfer the teachables). But I think it will not help new players, the group who is affected to most by the grind much.
Isn't the Shrine on a permanent 24 hour rotation after the update though?

And bringing that up in a thread talking about reporting hackers would beeee..?
Because lots of people report things that are not reportable. Like I said in the first place. The guy that used an Emergency Medkit with Bite The Bullet behind a wall with Botany Knowledge is not a hacker. And a "trollmate", might just be playing weird cause he got stuck with a dumb challenge like "hide within 10 feet of the killer for 20 seconds while injured".
There are LOTS of reasons you may not be getting a quick response other than "devs don't care".

It's not even whataboutism, the thread was about no side in particular. No one said anything about reporting killers for tunneling or camping, you just showed up ready to throw down implying this guy was a survivor main doing that because.. well, I don't really know why you implied that.
I guess, again, you showed up for a fight no one was participating in.
Because Survivor report whining massively outnumbers Killer report whining. It's not about taking sides. It's numbers.

Right. Apologies. The average amount of apathy bothers me. Anyway, they are still worse off in this case because of prestige tax which cannot be ignored unlike previously. They cannot get any more perks for their one character without paying the tax and they get sent back to level 1 where they must take a lot of junk and things they will never use. Like at level 50 they get your choice four perks and get to keep two. At low levels they are forced to take one whether they want it or not. This doesn’t even factor in the bbq and wglf loss.
Also shrine gambling is iffy unless I missed that going the way of the dodo. There’s a few perks I’ve wanted that have never come up, even during the daily masquerade rotation. I ended up buying the characters with shards instead. Now sure, latest perks like those of Cenobite, Onyro, Yoichi, Haddie and Dredge probably won’t appear for a while but still.
Unless I read it wrong the Shrine is now targeted. You will be able to just pick the perk you want and be done with it. So, if you want Blast Mine but never wanna mess with Leon you can just straight up BUY Blast Mine as an unlock.

Personally, I like that there is this variety of killers, strong perks and addons, as well as tunnling, slugging and camping, but there must be counter against all this. That's what makes dbd so varied and exciting: you never know what to expect in the next game! Really think increasing the selection of good perks would be the more interesting way to shake up a fixed meta. Especially it would be more sustainable than just nerfing the next meta again, and then the next one and so on...
This is a great idea in theory. The problem is that the last batch of meta perks were SO OVERPOWERED that people are going to use them as the gold standard of "what perks ought to be", and not realize they are outliers that never should have been that strong. Some of the perks existed because of poor core designed (Borrowed Time), but others were just flat abusable (Decisive Strike in the end game), or point blank broken beyond all reason (Dead Hard).
The sooner the Survivor community gets over this idea that all perks need to be at old Iron Will never, the better off they will be.
-
It is so you cannot abuse a dead zone. If you could use the same hooks over and over again, you could run something like Agitation, use a corner hook, and now every future chase can just be lead or ran around here, where all resources are already expended and lost.

I actually play most killers but know many people don’t and survivor players typically stick with one or two. So why do I care? Because I have empathy. I said this change barely effects me. However it is extremely disingenuous to sell something as reducing the grind when it does the exact opposite for most players.
I do honestly believe it’s ignorance of understanding their players and not maliciously attempting to increase the grind. This thread is trying to point it out to BHVR that if their goal was to reduce the grind, from where most players sit they actually failed.
That is not what I mean. What I mean is if a person only plays a few characters, what do they care about the grind for the rest? Just ignore them and you can literally buy the perks you want from the Shrine directly. You never have to touch a character you are not interested in.
-
If you have not hit me with a flashlight or Head On, and you are not a Dead Hard user... I will give you every glyph or challenge.

Its taken away bbq and wglf and put 50k tax whenever they hit level 50. That is definitely taking something away. Yes I agree perks being attached to bp gain is bad but the gains only come at the very end once several characters are prestige when the grind is at its worst at the start.
These gains are less if you consider that many players only play a few characters so getting ‘free’ perks on characters they’ll never use is gaining nothing at all. On a personal level this doesn’t hurt me much at all, I took full advantage of bbq and wglf during the event but it wasn’t that long ago I had next to nothing and how annoying that early grind was and now that’s going to be worse for people who follow me.
If you only play a few characters, then what do you care? Just play the ones you want.

Your first comment "specifically" calls out survivors for being "thick" for reporting camping, the same is entirely applicable to killers too.
It wasn't an EXCLUSIONARY statement, Jesus. At no point did I say Killers did not. But one is MUCH more common than the other. I've seen "reported for camping" a hundred times more often than "reported for looping". I think I've seen the latter like.... 3 times. Ever.
