DH was fair and needed against the strongest killers in the game, or against anti-loop killers, but was BS for M1 or weak killers.
But surprise surprise, no one is playing the M1 killers, everyone sticks to Nurse/Blight even when DH is gone, which was the main gatekeeper perk of weak killers
Absolutely NOTHING about Dead Hard was fair.

Because for some reason Killers who failed all game and camp during Endgame think they deserve the pity Kill.
Why, after all these years, do you keep pushing this lie that powered gates = killer loss?
To get the devs desired outcome of 2 escapes and 2 kills, the gates HAVE TO BE POWERED.
Which means all 5 gens being done is INTENDED.

What’s the point in this if the Killer goes for the unhooked person? He can literally do nothing about it and gets hooked again while the teammates can only unhook him and he gets hooked again. I hope the devs are gonna change it quickly since this feels so annoying that you can’t do anything about it if the Killer goes for you again.
What are your thoughts about it?
The point is that if those perks worked in end game the survivor was unkillable. I've had survivors get unhooked, run into the gates, and teabag furiously because they knew they were quite literally invincible and there wasn't a thing I could do about it.

Yes, out of position is a legitimate term, but you're tossing it into a hypothetical where it has no business being.
You are not supposed to get seen in the first place. There are perks to help you find Survivors, but no perk is perfect and you only get four slots. For all the whining about "gen regression" perks you are now worried about location perks? How many perk slots do you think killers get?
Aside from dodging the whole 'survivors have to be on gens' argument, you're also dodging the actual meat of the argument: It isn't always the survivor's fault they're spotted. And you can't deflect with 'well, killers won't run them anyway', because that is patently untrue. BBQ & Chili had a pretty solid pick-rate before its nerf, and there'll be other perks that offer intel too.
If the game were built around hide-and-seek, killers wouldn't have ANY intel perks. So this idea that a survivor getting spotted is their 'mistake' is nonsense in almost any situation. Sure, there'll be cases where a survivor may get caught because they're careless, but if a survivor wants to get objectives done, they are going to have to risk being spotted. And if a killer brings the right load-out (Or the right killer, IE Hag or Doctor) there's no way to avoid it.
Camping and tunnelling are the Killer doing their job to kill you. You are not ENTITLED to an unhook.
Can you stick to a single argument, please? First you're arguing about survivors getting hooked at all, and then when that flops, you retreat to 'you're not entitled to an unhook'.
Which is fine, in and of itself.
But it does mean gens need to be made way, WAY quicker to compensate for survivors having only one hookstate. Pick your poison.
The game IS designed around hide and seek. The developers have said so.
And the only time it is not your vault for being spotted is if the killer is Undetectable. The terror radius exists for a reason. If you are on a gen, and you hear the terror radius getting louder, and you don't leave or hide, that is on you.

I don't think anyone is a loser in real life for how they play a video game. It's not real. I used to play a lot of Lemmings on Windows 95. I enjoyed watching the little idiots drown by falling into water. I assure you, I have never murdered anyone nor do I intend to. Cause... you know... it's a video game.

Yes, yes, we are all aware the killer's role is to kill survivors, but camping and tunneling are boring and showcase exactly zero skill. I find it far more exciting when the killer actually mindgames and downs me because they were more skilled in that scenario versus when they just tunnel off hook because 3v1 is easier than 4v1.
Why would I mindgame you if it is a tactically stupid decision to do so? If my options are wait ten seconds to get that second hook state out of the hanging Steve, or chase after the Nancy clicking her flashlight at me and that CLEARLY wants to be chased.... I'm not chasing her. That would be stupid.
I don't care if you think it is 'boring". I'm not here to entertain you. And people that throw around phrases like "zero skill" are often the same people that say that NOED gives "free kills".

Are you kidding me?
You consider getting seen a mistake? You do realise that there's a small trove of killer perks that make it impossible to avoid getting found, right? And you know that, if the survivors want to have any chance of finishing their objective, they have to risk being seen?
Then you pull some 'out of position' thing out of god knows where, once again disregarding the fact that survivors are forced to move into certain locations by merit of the objectives, and then you somehow split 'losing the chase' into two separate items. And you mark 'got downed' as a mistake despite the previous paragraph of your own post declaring, loudly: "You are SUPPOSED to go down!". So how is that the survivor's mistake!?
And that is on top of a gross misrepresentation of the actual issue. The problem isn't that once a killer starts chasing you, it's virtually impossible to lose them, the problem is that survivor gameplay is supposed to be more than constantly getting chased down and nothing else (Tunnelling), or only getting one single chase and 2 minutes of incapacitation (Camping, slugging).
Literally no one complains about getting hooked. People complain about the game mechanism of unhooking getting sidelined by campers.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3066432#Comment_3066432
what do you have to say about sweaty survivors making killer just as miserable?
I am absolutely in favour of nerfing bully squad tactics to the ground. In-built flashlight immunity for X seconds after being blinded for example. BNP removal. Removing the ability to deny pick-ups by healing.
But bully squads require a ton of skill and intensive coordination from multiple people to pull off, whereas camping just requires the killer to play for a bit and then AFK. Which do you think is going to be more common?
I also don't think -anyone- on the forums has ever argued in favour of bully squads and their tactics. But the pushback against any criticism on tunnelling and camping is pretty hefty. There's always, -always- going to be someone popping up going 'Well killers don't have to make the game fun!' when I can't think of a single time a complaint about bully squads was ever dismissed like that.
Everyone hates bully squads. But there's a lot of people stuck in a sort of revenge mentality that'll jump high and low to justify camping, tunnelling and slugging.
That's why no one bothers to point out how annoying bully squads are. We know. Everyone knows. There's no discussion to be had. It's just going to be 'I hate bully squads', 'I agree'. There's no point.
"Out of position" is a term the community has had for over 5 years. This is not new.
And yes, you are supposed to go down in chase. You are not supposed to get seen in the first place. There are perks to help you find Survivors, but no perk is perfect and you only get four slots. What I wanna know is why it won't censor the same people. I have had games where it censored "Myers" when I said it, but when another player said it, it was fine.

You're still not seeing why for years survivors are still talking about camping and tunneling in a negative light. You want survivor mains to see getting annihilated in a match by sweaty killers as normal and part of the experience of the game. It shouldn't be part of the experience of the game at all. This is about satisfied customers and clearly if people are constantly complaining about the same 2 things for years then they're probably not satisfied, are they? And I know killer mains are part of the game too, but if you think camping and tunneling should be the norm then you're just wanting the same cycle to continue where people get sick of it, complain about it here and eventually quit. This is a problem whether you like it or not. Its the reason why this thread exists as well as all the other ones before and all the ones that will after.
Because people ignore the purpose of the game, that is why.
I'm a Survivor Main. When I hear a terror radius, I hide. Do you know why?
Because the objective of the game is to AVOID the killer, complete give generators, and escape.
AVOID the killer.
AVOID.
As long as people keep up this "I WANNA BE CHASED!" garbage, you are gonna keep getting hooked.

When the killer tunnels you out of the match within the first minute or so, that is not fun. When the killer camps your hook to make sure you don't get to play the game, that is not fun. You're completely missing the point here. It doesn't matter that killers are not obligated to play under "made up fun rules." What matters is happy customers at the end of the day. No one is asking for killers to give up every match and let the survivors run around under no fear or pressure of being caught. In fact I would argue that is why most survivor mains play survivor in the first place. They want to be chased by a scary killer. What they don't want is to feel like that interaction was a lost cause and the match ends faster than it took for them to get into it.
Interactions are SUPPOSED to be a lost cause. You are SUPPOSED to go down. Chases are meant to be delayment of the inevitable. This whole "I wanna be chased!" thing comes to a grinding halt when it smashes into the reality wall of the Killer shoving you on a hook.
If you are getting downed in the first minute, congratulations. You got a chase and lost. Here are the consequences of your actions. You manged to get seen (mistake), get caught out of position (mistake again), lose the first chase (mistake yet again), get hit and then get hit a second time to get downed (mistake YET AGAIN!)....
.... and now you are sitting on the hook crying foul?

Medkits are the biggest impact items, and they can be absolutely devastating. Strong toolboxes on multiple survivors too. It's worst when multiple survivors bring them, that's when you really feel their power.
But keys, maps and flashlights generally have zero value in most games.
Yeah, but you can duplicate a medkit with a perk. No perk in the game can replace my Depleted Ink Ribbon.

I agree it would be ideal to have zero BP incentives on perks. But I think BP gains between killers should be looked at. Brutality and sacrifice specifically are very hard to max out, even as it is now and even in long games. It's odd how Myers, Billy and Bubba have no bonus to brutality, while GF and Oni do. Also, Myers deviousness gain is horrible. He doesn't even get any bonus for instadowning in Tier 3. Legion as well struggles with Deviousness.
BP gains for survivor too is kind of wonky. I think giving people more "shared" bloodpoints, like if you're working on a gen while altruism is happening, you gain a few points, etc.
I think what stood out was those two perks added to TOTAL bloodpoints, whereas perks like Prove Thyself and Beast of Prey just get to your cap faster. So I do not think BHVR cares about those.
-
This is a problem you created for yourself. If you want to advertise as a TTV, this is what you get. I know some awesome streamers, but BHVR is not here to be PR for you. If you want TTV in your name that means it is in your name, with everything that comes with it.
-
The Killer is TRYING TO KILL YOU. If you want a game where you are not in danger, but you really like running, I recommend Wi Fit, or maybe a Track & Field game.
"Survivors just want to have fun". is a subjective statement that depends on what is fun for you. The way half the Survivor Community talks it sounds like they want Killers to pretend to chase them so they can feel good about playing a game of Tag, but have no action lethality to it. I say again, he is trying to KILL YOU and he is under no obligation to follow your made up "fun rules".
The Killer is not your birthday clown and he is not here to entertain you.
-
Pretty sure the entire point of removing it from those two was to not make perks bloodpoint reliant.

Yea but when a game becomes a job its not a game anymore. Sweaty killers ruin this game. There is a reason survivor mains have been talking about camping and tunneling in a negative light for so long. Its because we literally hate it and it makes this game unbearable to play. I just had 4 matches in a row that had killers so sweaty it made me regret playing the game tonight. Tunneled every match and the killers won with 4k and I think only 1 generator in all 4 matches got done. This kind of sweaty gameplay has to stop because it is ruining this game. Survivors are sick of the same pattern of playstyles they consider toxic over and over again. Why do you think there is always threads here talking about camping and tunneling? Its because it is a problem in this game whether you believe it or not.
You hate it because you are LOSING.
What you call "sweaty" is just playing the game to win. Stop trying to use it as a pejorative.
Killers playing the role of killer is not "toxic".

Equivalent for addons is items, bringing an OP medkit is the same as bringing OP addons. But I do think that survivors without items are stronger with killers without addons.
It is not "equivalent" at all. Killer add ons completely change the way the kit can be played. A Survivor with an item either unlocks a hatch, makes a killer face a wall to pick up, gets a limited heal without having to use a perk, or shaves a few seconds off a gen.
This is nothing compared to Tombstones, Alchemist Ring, etc.

Trying to understand something here...
So the game is grindy AF, more so for Survivors than killer, that's much is easy to figure out.
So my problem is understanding why do Survivors gen rush if that means they're getting less BP!?
Why are you gen rushing and bringing BPS or Cakes!? You want the measely 20 to 25k BP in an extra BP scenario!?
You're still missing DOUBLE BP cause you're not doing anything else...You're wasting even more BP than normally.
Why bring Toolboxes and gen rush when you have extra bp offerings!?
Wait wait wait.
HOL UP
The game is NOT more grindy for Survivors than Killers. Not even close. Survivors just need to make their characters get the specific meta perks they need and they are DONE. Killers have different optimal perks based on the Killer, whereas all Survivors play functionally the same. Not to mention many Killers are add-on reliant and need to farm bloodwebs for those add ons. Survivors can literally get loot in chests and games, and even KEEP them if they win!
How EXACTLY is Survivor more grindy?

Sounds fair right? Oh, no, because every single killer will dodge your potato premade? Why is that? Explain me
You already have the power to dodge a lobby. You don't need additional information to make that decision.

I don´t Know, let me think.....
The fact that this game is not balanced around playing with comms? The fact that you can decide map + build + perks according to that map and win 95% of games abusing of information? The fact that you can coordinate for everything? The fact that SWF was released without testing it just because DBD was a failure at release and they needed players without looking the consequences that It could carry to the future and never balanced around that?
Just Maybe.

When you have a disease like C... you remove the infested organ with the idea of saving the rest of the body from a certain death, the same goes for SWF.
Yeah, still not seeing why me and three potato friends should suffer extra because we wanna play together. We lost tons of our matches anyway. We might, MIGHT get one four our escape a night after three hours of playing. The rest are slaughters. So why do you care if my friends and I die together? Leave us alone.

Nope, I am giving more reasons to survivors to play Solo instead of SWF :) I have friends and I do not play DBD with them because as main killer I know how abusive is so I refuse to ruin others experience.
And of course, because I want to improve on both sides and playing as SWF doesn´t let me learn anything because is like playing games on super easy mode, just that.
1 of my friends has more hours played than me, like 400 or 500 more (I reached 5100 last week) and he is an authentic potato. Why? Because since 2017 he played with comms, winning with zero effort and learning zero about the game. He struggles to loop against T2 myers, because like I said him tons of times -> "You are a carried potato"
That just sounds like punishment with extra steps.

I give you one:
Playing as SoloQ gives you X% extra Bloodpoints, same as less played side reward on the future patch. More BP, X2-3 experience that allows them to have more Iri Shards, for example.
Nerfing SWF to the ground ¿How? Really Easy, Making impossible to repeat perks if you are playing on a group. Not 4xDS - UB - DH - IW anymore (Or the new meta build, it doesn´t matter). Don´t let them equip items with more than Yellow Quality if they are on group. Do not allow SWF to use Map offerings.
Mark on killers lobby if they are premade or not, and how many are on the same group. Or just separate queues as solo or swf
"This will kill SWF". Yes, that is the idea, this game is not designed to being played by 4 friends on comms, and if they are not going to prohibe it or nerf it , at least let killers choose if they want to play against SWF or not, if you can choose your team as survivor, I have the right to know if you are on group and decide if I want to play an unbalanced match or queue again looking for chill matches.
SWF is the can.... of DBD.
You literally want to PUNISH people for having friends?

If you are contributing to something that is a general detriment to the game, and do so knowingly..... actually, yeah. You do.

Depends. Is what they want to use a cosmetic that has zero affect on me, or a perk that has broken the game for a long time now?

Trust me, the chances of getting a full game without multiple DC is near zero when penalties are off.
Also, nearly all team based pvp games have DC penalties (at least in ranked games) because those games are based on fixed and equal team sizes.
ALL of this. I've played this game when Devs temporarily turn it off, and the number of DCs in games absolutely SKYROCKETS.
