I get that.Well how do we get Original Nemesis to be original Nemesis in DBD, what do you purpose.I say make it base cosmetic.
I would suggest making it a new killer. I made the same suggestion for Freddy, having Reboot Freddy and OG Freddy. You notice that each Killer has a "type". I think it would be a good chance to create Killer variants by making a new Killer of the same type.

I get it man You wes craven fans got stiffed on two chapters,but let us at least dream
It's not about that, it's about creating pay2win costumes.
I've seen other games do this, and suddenly you need whatever the "best" costume is for the character. Was your favorite costume All New X-Men Cyclops? Well, gee, that sucks because the Cyclops Reborn outfit does 20% more damage and has lower cooldown on Optic Devastation. That makes you an idiot for using the old costume.
Cosmetics need to be just that - cosmetics. They should not change gameplay.

Can Behaviour can behavior renegotiate contracts, as a fan of Nemesis I feel like this is unacceptable I think the new skin are the Remake Nemesis should be the legendary skin and original number should be base.I but yeah if there able to change a skin with abilities then he can keep his zombies, but original Nemesis don't depend on zombies we get things done ourself,but as I have stated remake nemesis should be a legendary but also able to change a zombie into an Ne-a zombie he injuries, but this made Resident Evil fan heartbroken when the first chapter of Resident Evil came out the map didn't work and Nemesis zombies were a little bit wonky so please if behavior can renegotiate the contract and get the original Nemesis as base and use the new Nemesis as a legendary skin battery totally cool and we'd all be happy but I am not happy with this Nemesis because this is not the Pursuer
Under no circumstances do I ever want a skin or cosmetic to EVER alter game mechanics.
Ever.

Where’s the dignity in just killing bots?? Isint it more rewarding to down actual players rather then some fixated NPC? Where is this game going?
What makes you think there is dignity in playing with or against Survivors that screw around, sandbag, gamethrow, or engage in toxic behavior?

I think matchmaking works often enough, which is why the top 5% MMR stats are so close together. When half the killer roster is only off by a few %, MMR is absolutely working as intended.
The problem is MMR is based on a lone wolf win condition instead of a team win condition, so solo q will never actually feel like a team.
Imagine if solo q did get voice comms, and we would just have a bunch of matches where people would just scream at each other, because the lone wolf survivor refuses to help the team, and tells the rest of the team that they’re all trash, and that it’s every survivor for themselves. Because that is what many of the lone wolf survivors are thinking, and that’s the type of people that ruin games for the rest of their team.
I think a lot of lone wolves would just turn their voice chat off.

Who said they should listen to every complaint whining about something? This is literally a "general discussion forum" for people to discuss various topics on the game. A common such topic is back and forths on what could be done to make the game better. A lot of that may end up being individual complaints that are not shared by the community, but BHVR also does surveys and testing to get people's opinion on what is fun. You know, data. If the data indicates that the player base is unhappy with a certain element then, if there is a superior alternative, it should be changed.
For your own material, sure. If you think it isn't fun that Blast Mine can time out now, that's a fair assessment because that was created for your benefit to have fun with.
It is completely different to try the "This is not fun" excuse against the opponent's game mechanics that are DESIGNED to thwart you.

If not based on player enjoyment (fun/unfun) how in the world do games ever make any changes? If a mechanic is making the game less enjoyable than an alternative for the players it obviously should be changed. Now trying to figure out what the overall player base thinks/implementing a change are trickier questions, but I'm not sure what other metric than "fun" you would use for improvements.
Weirdest post I've read in weeks.
You use data. Actual data.
If they make a perk called Overwhelming Power, and Killers that use it win 99% of their games, that perk is OP and needs to be fixed. BHVR collects loads and loads of data they can use to balance the game.
If they actually listened to every complaint whining about something, the game would have imploded by now.

If something is an unfun mechanic, it should be looked at.
Facecamping. Tunneling. Etc etc
No, it shouldn't. Because that's too subjective to take seriously. That slope is so slippery it's covered in butter.
"I think facing medkits is unfun - remove them."
"I think flashlight saves are unfun - remove them."
"I think Lethal Pursuer is unfun - remove it."
"I think being found because I tripped a crow is unfun - remove it."
Literally anything the other side has that helps them win could be swathed with that paint job.

Survivors are not obligated to let Killers have fun.
This is an extremely poor argument.
No, Survivors are not obligated to let killers have fun.
That is why you never see silly statements like "It's toxic for survivors to do a gen before the Killer has three hooks." There's this weird idea that you are somehow being gatekeepered in how you can play based on some degree of success the other side gets to decide. It's nonsense.
-
@Irisora said:
The one perk that should have been basekit they missed it.. Of course im talking about kindred. After that i don't think there are any more changes needed for soloQ because camping and tunneling in the first hook is a global problem not just related to soloQ.
This cheese tactics shoudn't be promoted in anyway at least at the start of the game as it make the experience of the other players miserable. I can understand that a killer decide to tunnel or camp when there are only 2 or 1 gen left, but doing it right after the game started its toxic as minimum, to not say other things 😂
Killers are not obligated to revolve their niceness level around whatever arbitrary number of generators you have chosen.

That's your POW.
IMO it's exactly the point. Eruption needs counterplay, because it does too much and there is nothing you can do to mitigate it (apart from playing in a good SWF - which is problem on it's own). If eruption regressed the gen for 2.5% and made you incapacitated for 3 seconds, nobody would ask for skillcheck or any other nerf to the perk. On the contrary people will ask for buffs to the perk
Why does a perk that only works well by multiple gen kicks AND a required survivor down need counterplay?
-
Incredible. Every word of what you just said is wrong.

Wasn't the game also intended to be played solo originally? Now we have a solo/ sfw gap that makes the game much more difficult for a large chunk of the player base. Another issue that can easily be fixed with small changes, but it's never addressed.
asking for Shadowborn base kit isn't crazy (as OP points out). It would be a small but healthy change. It would make killer role more accessible and less punishing to play. What do survivors lose with this? The ability to be invisible when they hug the killer? It's a positive change with a minor loss.
And I agree with UE being base kit as well. We have so many mundane perks that should just be part of the game because they making playing more fun/ accessible. Shadowborn, Urban Evasion, Kindred, Buckle Up, Fire Up (Those come mind first).
This game was 4v1 at launch. I have no idea what you are talking about.

@Flopiyutiop said:

You'd still get the regression so the perk is still relevent. Either way they are gonna change the perk so better find smt that won't destroy it.
If all I get out of is regression, there are better regression options. Hell, Oppression is better at that point. That's sad.
-
@Flopiyutiop said:
The perk should have a hard skillcheck tied to the incapacitated part. Where, when a survivor is downed all previously kicked gens regress 10% and all survivors currently repairing get a difficult skillcheck. If they fail, they get the incapacitated status.
Like so, their is a counterplay for solo players by succeeding to land the skillcheck. What do you think ?
So you want to be able to completely nullify the perk by pressing SPACEBAR? That's a no from me, dawg.
-
I don't see why this shouldn't be a thing. Lots of perks have icons to measure when they are working or not and this perk should be no different.
-
This is why the entity should start the endgame collapse at the 30 minute mark. Hard time limit.

My point is just because isn't intended doesn't make it right and can be changed just like something that isnt intended can be added.
Stealth is a small part of the game sure but the majority of the game is based around chases.
So why should stealth be punished even more and chases be rewarded even more? That makes zero sense.

If they are advertising it as a hide and seek game it's to pull in more people. But the devs know the game is not a hide and seek game anymore, and they balance the game accordingly. It's hide and seek for the first 10 hours on survivor.
1500 hours and it is still hide and seek for me.

Last year the Devs said MMR is fine the way it is because it’s like hockey, yet now we’re here waiting for the next update because they took their players advice on MMR being impacted by your teammates and taking breaks
Who cares what they said about stealth, 90% of their mechanics, perks, characters and maps show that they prioritize looping and interactions, not hide and seek. The players all do as well
FoV change is necessary and only gatekeepers will use stealth, Devs or recent Killer buffs to deny it
I care what they said about stealth.
I DO.
And I like that playstyle. And I don't want it punished even more because a small group of killers want an even bigger visual advantage.

But I'm not because looping was and unintentional mechanic but players preferred the run and chase gameplay over hide and seek so the game was changed and then it became an intendedmechanic. The game itself was never intended to be played the way it is now. If anything the pov is a relic from a time when the game was intended for survivors to be more stealthy. Increasing the fov wouldn't completely destroy stealth either its not like the killer I'd magically going to be able to see over walls or behind stuff.
Looping was not intended, but they adapted later.
FOV was intended. Fully. At the level it was. And they picked that number specifically. Shadowborn exists, as well as Monitor & Abuse, with that number in mind.
The game is still hide and seek. Stop pretending its not because you have a different preferred playstyle.
-
@Gamedozer7 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3248128#Comment_3248128
Looping was unintended so then it should be removed,along with 360s since the game was designed to be a hide and seek game and not a cat and mouse chase game.
But that doesn't make since does it just because they planed the game to be one way doesn't mean it can't or shouldn't br changed.
You are conflating intentional versus unintentional game design.
-
@Sava18 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3248128#Comment_3248128
Not relevant to the discussion though. The game was intended to be a hide and seek game and that lasted for only a couple years. If the devs feel like it's ok to add it now they will.
It is still intended as a hide and seek game. The devs literally referred to the game that way in the last major advertisement.

There's a debate? I thought it was just a bunch of whining.

Yes I would, that's why I have been running 3 perks for the last 8 months. 70 fov is god awful and disgusting.
It is also the way the game is intended to be played.

BHVR has posted the statistics regarding the game balance.
If you want to make an argument saying the game is not balanced, you need supporting evidence to back that claim up.

It is literally impossible to not get t3 as Myers... Maybe it will take some time because of line of sight blockers or distance, but eventually he will get it... Also without communication how would you know if he has sucked more than he usually needs to get his t3? It is a ridiculous addon and needs to get changed...
I have seen many games where Survivors get a 4E before the Myers can get to Tier 3. Your "literally impossible" claim is literally false.
-
@Regulus47 said:
Sadako worst killer?! Someone hasn't been keeping up with the stats. Even putting them aside she has everything needed to be strong - instant mapwide teleportation to gens, stealth she can activate at the drop of a hat (with a barely perceivable lullaby, allegedly, though I've never heard it in game) and exit in literal seconds with an unnoticeable movespeed penalty, spirit's passive phasing on command, making mindgames often result in free hits with no effort involved, and the entire condemned mechanic that can kill people at 0 hooks and force game slowdown if you're using the right addons. And on top of all of that, she's tiny and can't be seen over loops.
I think many killers just struggle to down survivors unless they have an antilloop power like nurse or blight so they see sadako's fairly meh antiloop and treat her as the worst killer in the game. Ridiculous if you ask me.
I've never seen such a beautifully exaggerated description of Sadako in my life. Bravo on this magnificent hyperbole.

that game is unbalanced, no need to tell anything
Especially not with all the gen increase things going around and spreading
Um... yes, there is a need.
That is now making an argument works.
You make a statement, and then support that statement with facts.
-
Not every obstacle in this game is intended to be a "loop".

If you are getting "genrushed" at 90 second gens, I don't know what to tell you.

You are clearly not facing it often. Getting insta-morried out of the blue without any real indication or warning is not exactly "best thing in the game". At least with double iri you know what is happening by not getting EW3 for so long. Against piece you just randomly die
It's not random. You let him succ all the way to Tier 3. People are acting like this is the old Mori system.

It is absolutely nothing like complaining about getting shot in CoD. What a completely worthless comment.
It absolutely is.
You load into Call of Duty to shoot people. To then go "Hey! Getting shot isn't fun!" is stupid, and if you think that you should uninstall Call of Duty.
You load into Dead By Daylight to survive against a Killer, who has his own unique playstyle. You don't get to cry about that. It's not there to entertain you. It's there to entertain THEM. Killer powers do not exist for Survivor fun. If you can't handle that, you should uninstall Dead By Daylight.

Pretty sure it's moreso that people think a video game they play should entertain them. And it's in Bhvr's best interest to create killers and promote play styles that are fun for more than 1 person out of a 5 person match.
Nope. That's subjective nonsense. This is like complaining that you loaded up Call of Duty and got shot.
The game needs to be fair. Not catered to specific ideas of entertainment. The Killer is not here to be your party clown.
