Maybe you shouldn’t be playing the game. Perhaps you don’t understand the principle of integrity?
the point is, play fairly or don’t play.
I don’t care if I eacape, I care about having a good quality game.
You don't get to dictate what is or isn't fair play.

What is it with people playing so terribly with this new (I think awful designed killer) killer!?
I have NEVER seen so much camping or tunnelling in this game, it’s pathetic.
and continuously dropping guardians around hook is really not in the spirit of the game.
PLEASE, if you play knight as killer, play with some integrity. It’s making my friends and I not want to play anymore.
Killers are not here to entertain you.
Murder doesn't come with integrity.
And camping isn't illegal.

It really do be like that
Survivors should not know when Knight is using their power.

Who knows how long it will take to financially recover from the 5-7 bucks they spend on this? If ever!

I can force 3gen with my wesker EVERY. SINGLE. GAME. that I don't get something as large as disturbed ward. It's not hard really
No, you can't. No killer can. You can't hold M1 for Survivors. Only Survivors can complete generators. What you mean is "I can camp a three gen I picked out". But THEY have to do the generators.
-
@Gandor said:
That will not solve anything. Problem with eruption is strong 3-gen (or any situation where you still have a few gens close to each other). Killer will just kick all of them - so you know that they are trapped. But there's nothing for you to do about that one - but eat those penalties.
The solution is don't three gen yourself.

Buying the knight was the worst mistake of your life? Congratulations on your extremely blessed life.

You are ignoring the fact that playtesters exist, most of them having many, many, many more hours than the average veteran.
So yeah, the 0.25 part was tested, they added 0.15 to prevent laggy killers from picking up survivors and having no counter(because laggy killers would finish the animation before the server recieves it, making them immune to it), and it gives laggy survivors the ability to readjust their beam as it otherwise would need to be frame perfect.
So you have a situation where one side basically gets a free perk, and the other side has to be absolutely frame perfect every single time or they cant use an item. For those players, 0.15 was added to compensate, making everyone vulnerable and give every survivor a relatively equal chance.
And thats not even talking about the fact that flashlights only really have 5 useful addons, 6 if you count the halloween bulb too, out of 14 total, and out of those 5 usefull addons, only 3 are used because they do the same thing as the others, but better. Thats only 20% of the addons. Its objectively the item/power with the least variety because of that.
Not a single killer ability has only 5 useful addons, most of them have at least 10 useful ones. A lot of killers tend to stick with the same 3-5 addons because they are simply the best, but they can run out and there would be enough back up.
So as of now, yeah, enough testing has been done with the flashlight blinding. Since there were basically 3-4 frames where you could blind the killer before they could look away before, we basically went from 0.08 to 0.4. Thats from 4 frames to 20 frames, out of an animation that lasts 180 frames.
Remember that originally, the pick up animation lasted 5 seconds, you could use instablinds to the point that you had to look up/down permanently because a single beam being able to hit your face was a save, and brightness actually could give you a variety in how late you could be for a blind save. Then they removed brightness having effect on the blinding speed(its now a static time), and they nearly doubled the speed for a pickup. Making the blind nearly frame perfect.
Since Lightborn was changed from decreasing the blinding speed(giving you even less room) to fully disabling the blindness effect for killers, and dedicated servers sometimes making blinds impossible, flashlight needed some extra wiggleroom as compensation.
Because while yeah, it sounds unfair, look at it from a gameplay perspective. You have an item that can only be effective while the killer is in an animation, and even then they can just use a perk to deny you that, and having only 6 killers who have an ability that can somewhat be countered by flashlights, but even then not really because Nurse can blink before you get the lightburn, Artist can send the crows 2 seconds before you get rid of them, Myers and Ghostface dont need to look at you specifically, leaving only Wraith and Hag, where Hag has addons that can make her instantly respawn to her traps being removed meaning the only killer that gets countered by it is Wraith.
Would you use that item over, lets say, a key that can show you the killer's aura? Or a medkit that can self heal you up more than once? Or a toolbox that can reduce a single generator from 90 seconds to 70 seconds? Or even a map that allows you to find that one pesky totem for the sake of a boon, hex or a totem perk?
I dont think flashlights are done either btw, I feel like by the time they are done, lightburning Nurse and disabling crows is going to be faster, while Wraith finally gets less punishment from being stunned from a lightburn.
No. Just... no.
Pyramidhead add-ons on legendarily bad. You have the two range extenders, and that's it. EVERYTHING else is garbage. Unless you are somehow in love with "Undetectable while standing on your own trail".

And when you save from locker. You do it with what? I thought usual case was beamer (but sure enough - I have seen flashbang or crackers before). Would you also say that saving when killer grabs someone is also no longer flashlight save? Because AFAIK you still need to use one of items that "can create light".
Bah. But why am I even trying? You will find another reason how "you are right". I am out of this thread now.
Again, you keep bringing up the locker save which has nothing to do with what I am talking about.

Adjustments that are nerf AND buff. Are NOT called buffs. They are called adjustments. Maybe QOL (but this case does not really apply). You can call 1 part of it buff. IDK how you can call disabled locker saves survivor buff.
Because a locker save is not the same as a pickup save.
You are trying to act like they are the same thing.
In the wild, killer downed survivors being picked up flashlight saves were buffed. PERIOD. No "adjustment". Buffed. The lockers have nothing to do with it.

The same can be said for devour hope though, that perk does literally 0 if you don't leave the hook?
Having a perk you are just choosing not to use at the moment is not the same thing as "Hey, here's a cool thing you get if you leave the hook"

so you ignored what I said. From the very start I said they ADJUSTED how flashlights work. I specifically mentioned nerf-buff. Yet you decided to ignore what I wrote just to disagree with me. I am done with you

Ah so removing locker saves did not happen. Got you. Or actually it did! What a shocker. You still did not notice that part. Go read those patch notes again
I didn't say the locker removal didn't happen. I said that flashlight saves were buffed, after you claimed the devs favor killers by never doing anything for survivors - which they just did.
-
@Gandor said:

No. I did not. I saw 2 posts that made 2 adjustments. 1, locker save for safety window 2, larger safety window for server side validation (meaning the time-window is effectively same). So again. What buff?
They buffed the window for flashlight saves. No longer requiring that pinpoint exact timing to blind the killer. Flashlights were buffed.

You mean to say locker saves will still work? Because I read they will work no longer. So again. What buff? I see only adjustment
Did you not read the patch notes that buffed actual, normal, flashlight saves?

But they do reward you for leaving the hook, if you sit and camp those perks are going to be getting you 0 value, they do nothing unless you leave that hook to go kick gens.
That's not incentive, though. That's just choosing not to use them. Incentive would be "Hey, you get MORE value out of this perk if you actively leave the hook."
Devour Hope says "PPST! Hey, if you go far enough away, I'll let you MURDER survivors!"
That's not the same thing as "Call of Brine doesn't work unless you kick it".

@Gandor said:

Reread. Nerfbuff. Adjustment
It's a buff. It WAS harder to do. Now it is EASIER to do. That's a buff.
-
@Gandor said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3269811#Comment_3269811
Buff? I don't see any buff. All I see is adjustment. Remove locker saves (even legit ones not just 2 people with flashlight waiting in lockers next to each other) for adding time-window for less experienced players. That's adjustment. Or nerf-buff if you really want.
Also did you notice silent removal of a lot (and I don't mean 1 or 2) of pallets in eerie of crows? So clearly devs do not prefer killers at this point. /s
They literally increased the window of opportunity to perform normal flashlight saves. They are super easy now, barely an inconvenience.

if you camp and u have 3 unchecked people doing gens u lose the game, hence why these 2 perks are some of the best since they help you pressure gens?
Yes, and? Who was trying to say they didn't?
No one is saying they are not good. We are saying they do not reward you for specifically leaving the hook.
-
@Gandor said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3269224#Comment_3269224
So write that to devs so locker saves will remain in the game....
No it's not about doing something dificult. It's about staying on single spot and ignoring everything until you don't. Why is 1 thing fair and anothet not? I will tell you why. Because one of the thing helps survivors and that is obviously forbidden. Only killers are allowed to have unfairly easy things going for them
Yes, yes. The devs clearly hate Survivors. That is why flashlight saves were just buffed.

Eruption and call of brine 2 of the best perks for killer and some of the most common perks, both of which you have to be leaving the hook to go kick gens.
Not the same thing.
There's requiring you to leave the hook and then there is an incentive to leave the hook. Those two perks require you to leave. They do not incentivize you to leave.

No. Bubba that knows what to do gives precisely absolutely and literally 0 possibilities for survivor.
For newer bubbas, you can try to make him go overheat. You can distract him. You can make him chase you and hit something. But there is precisely nothing you can do to bubba, that is not new and wants to camp that survivor. 0% chance for success.
And if your next argument is that so it's not easy - then so is getting good timing on locker save.
A person that plays PERFECTLY should get the win every time. That's the same reasoning we use for everything. That's what playing correctly means.

well i can say basically all the gen regression perks require the killer to go away from the hook.... i mean i should say almost all the perks in general, perks don't work if u stand still, theres no perks that reward u for not leaving a hook, if that what u need to do to win thats another story, justified in most of the cases, but don't tell me that theres no perks
Perks don't work if you stand still?
Insidious would like a word with you. :)
-
"We already have perks to encourage killer to go away from hooks"
No, we don't.
We have Make Your Choice, a perk that gives the vulnerable person lots of time to hide, and Devour Hope, which will notoriously get cleansed in the first 45 seconds of the game.
-
Of all the survivor perks that need improvements? This ain't it, chief.
-
@Gandor said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3268394#Comment_3268394
No it does not. Survivors can do things, but if bubba does not do bad (watching outside of his hook, survivor missing timing), then there is exactly nothing you can do.
Do you understand what you just said? You are annoyed that you can't stop Bubba *regardless of how he plays* ?
That's not counterplay. You just want to be able to stop him so there's nothing he can do about it.
-
@Gandor said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3268357#Comment_3268357
There are many videos where survivors did not get the timing right. Where is the difference? I still don't get it.
The difference is that with the locker example, there's only play on ONE SIDE: the dude with the flashlight.
Mindgaming a hook save with a camping Bubba involves both sides actively making moves and decisions.
THAT is the difference.
-
@Gandor said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3268251#Comment_3268251
The same way as bubba. If he does not get distracted for 0 reason, it's impossible to unhook against him. If survivors don't miss timing, it's impossible to not get flash saved. Exactly. The. Same. Thing
Not exactly the same thing. Not even close. Bubba camping is not the same thing as a FIXED ANIMATION. Your use of the word "impossible" is factually wrong. There are plenty of videos out there of Bubba campers getting outplayed.
-
@Gandor said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3268103#Comment_3268103
1, it's not free by a very long shot. Changing it to 1 or 0 out is very simple - just get one during your NOED + NWO. And this still assumes optimal play from survivor side
2, 2 out is not win or lost. It's a draw - and that is one of the worse results such a bubba can get
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3268074#Comment_3268074
So the counterplay is hoping bubba screws up. Looking at hook is so damn easy and still some bubbas fail in this regard. On the other hand missing that tiny time-window when flash save works is more probable then that. Overall locker saves were more fair then bubba camping basement (even if they were very unfair)
How are locker saves more fair when they were LITERALLY unstoppable?
-
@Roaroftime said:
So you had four people to go for and went for the person who was just unhooked (and by the sounds of it wasn't sweating at all if she didn't bring an exhaustion perk) then blamed the survivors. Ok. More evidence survivors can't use fun perks also as they just get taken advantage of.
No, no, no. "Can't use fun perks" would be a perk like No Mither, not a freaking Exhaustion Perk.

You cannot seriously be arguing this in good faith.
That's how I feel about the "nothing an be done about bubba" people.
I've literally had a friend look at Bubba, enter a staring content, and then I walk up right behind the unhook and save. It is possible, it's not THAT hard, and to me "bad faith" are the people that automatically discount the idea. "Only against a stupid Bubba, maybe". Or "Yeah, but not in solo queue where everyone is dumb".
THOSE are bad faith arguments.
-
@Gandor said:

you can outplay it. Just take lightborn. Now you outplayed it. Same way as "there is outplay for bubba".
No there is no real outplay mechanism. Bubba can screw up real bad (so can survivors by getting bad flash timing on lockers), or he will camp that person to death
Lightborn is not outplaying because you don't know if you will need it during a match. You can outplay a Bubba mid-match regardless of perks.
-
@Pulsar said:

They removed flashlight locker saves for essentially that reason.
it felt awful to go against. They've already set the precedent.
Likewise, wouldn't it be better to promote more skillful tactics? Does it not seem unfair that a facecamping Bubba who puts in zero effort gets the same result as a Killer who plays normally and gets 2 Kills?
No, they removed the locker thing because there was nothing you could do about it.
I've seen camping Bubbas get outplayed. Hell, I've DONE it. It's not impossible. It IS impossible to avoid a flashlight save that takes place while locked in an animation.
-
Gas Heaven is definitely one of the maps of all time.
-
Absolutely no removal of Bloodlust. The entire point of that mechanic is to end infinite loops, or near infinite loops. No survivor should be able to 'run the killer for 5 gens", and people who think that is a good idea better rechange their stance on Facecamping because that is what you are gonna get if chases are pointless.
Survivors are intended to go down in chase. It's a matter of when you go down, not if. A killer is expected, if he placed "fair" and/or "nice", to get 12 hooks. Bloodlust is a necessary game mechanic if you want any semblance of that.
There are some RNG outcomes where the idea of 'git gud' goes out the window.... possibly due to three instantly connecting windows, leading to shack.
People that want Bloodlust removed just want the old 3-5 minute chases back, which were bad for the game.
-
Oh no. I got it just fine. Killer played smart and you don't like that, so you need BHVR to "fix" it.
-
Killer did thing that is effective. Plz remove BHVR.
-
90% Survivor / 10% Killer
I can't Killer with my friends, so that gets a back-seat.
-
I simply refuse to believe "If it is unfun, it should be removed" as a valid argument.
But that logic, I want flashlights removed because they are unfun. I want Blight removed because he is unfun. I want the sprint burst on Nemesis infection removed because that is unfun.
If you removed everything someone found unfun, the entire game would be stripped down to nothing.
-
They are the same, but the character model size makes it deceptive.
You would think that Pyramidhead, being taller with a long knife, would have a huge swing, but no.
Likewise the much shorter Freddy with just razorblades on his fingertips feels like he can hit 10 meters away.

Have you think the way you play is why you get so much salt. I have played some games with pc and survivors 90% of time don't say anything or only gg. Even I played basement bubba they didn't say anything while I got 4K:s... There are 4 survivors so more often one survivor can be salty than just one killer.
A person doesn't deserve hate messages over the way they play a video game and if you think they do you should seek immediate psychiatric help.
