sometimes it feels like people would be happier if all her addons were meme-y and caused aneurysms trying to get to work
of the reworked bunch that's pretty much the only solid one and somehow there's a problem with the fact spirit can actually still find and hit people
I honestly wish it were like that for killers in general. With the condition that all their base kits are made solid if they arent of course

Play with a swf so you can pick your teammates or make sure (easier said than done) to die last so the penalty buffer minimizes how much you lose.
-
As far as I remember, shes always been like that. You're better off focusing on the white wisp trail than the actual model.
-
I just wondering because trickster seems to have mixed views depending on the platform. On pc, a good trickster can 100 to 0 someone incredibly quickly, but console has some limitations that really get in the way. Things like joystick deadzones, frame stuttering and an 'all or nothing' style sensitivity for those sticks.
That's on top of both tricksters are countered by just running and putting high things between the both of you.
-
What platform do you play on by chance?

While playing as The Pig
-
"X are leaving because this company is to stupid to balance things"
This has to be one of the most powerless things ever said when dbd has a way of driving out old players but roping in new ones just as fast, if not faster.
-
The real travesty here is that they changed pigs 28 m terror radius to 32 m to make her more inline with 115% ms killers, yet here deathslinger is, a 110% ms killer with 32 m terror radius.
But lets be real, the first mistake was taking the "give the killer a gun" meme a little too literally.
-
The real question is:
If someone hits the casual button, can they just DC for what ever reason because the game 'doesnt matter'?

I feel the only people who complain about Spirit's stand still mind game are the ones who run into her face instead of breaking LOS and getting distance of her. 🤡
Does breaking LOS do anything in that same situation on a killer that loses sight by herself the moment she hits m2?
What are you going to so? How much distance are you going to make walking away from a killer that moves 176%?
That's why I dont get people that think she's going to be f tier after her upcoming change.

I think they just intended survivors to just run from pallet to pallet, throwing them down as they came to them. otherwise, I can't imagine why the early maps would be so pallet dense .

Pros of playing a male character: jeff
Con: big boy
Pro of playing a female: smaller model
Con: being hit by things that look like it shouldn't connect but it actually works as it should because all survivors have the same hurt box.

Asymmetrical is a synonym of unbalanced.
not really. like, You can have a scalene triangle that isn't symmetrical about any line, but it can still be balanced on it's center of mass/gravity. Asymmetrical just means that both sides aren't played the same like you would in an FPS or even a MOBA.
-
Hook progress slows down, gen progression and perk recharge rates are also slowed by an equal amount while in area.
-
Yeah. I popped it on for a while. With the whole stack not getting used if you hit a great skill check, it really reminds me how disgusting old skill check bonus progression could be with a bit of luck .

You wouldn't have them simultaneously. You would have set 1 in beginning and leading through middle. Then set 2 would become active after last gens repaired and set 1 deactivates
But it would be effectively 8 perks because the endgame set would only consist of perks that activate at end game.
-
You dont think a possiblity of having 8 perks is a bit overkill?

Nurse is anything but a "meh" killer, she is the most lethal killer in the game and that has been true since her release back in 2016.
Theres also a common misconception that Nurse is the hardest killer to play which just simply isnt the case, shes the hardest killer to learn. Once you get the hang of her she becomes the easiest killer since she ignores pretty much anything a survivor can throw at her.
Imo. She is the hardest killer to learn, but dbd has a pretty low skill floor in general.

What do you mean grades?
Like "Ash 1" or "Gold 3". Those are just grades and don't reflect your skill level. Just how much you play.
You were probably were put against them because as you said, "I get 4ks quite a lot"

Obviously fnaf
-
That reminds me of Home sweet home's swamp level. There was this lower route that was flooded with water that slowed your character down.
Noone ever went down there unless they were new because it made you an easy kill. I wouldn't doubt that if they tried to add tiles like that , they would go largely ignored.
You'd just look at it and say "wow, there's nothing here".
-
Dbd 2. More skins , more PvE content, matchmaking pool is the same dbd 1, less reason to actually buy it and not just accept the free upgrade.
-
Probably because there isn't many other way to make it appealing.
Like with healing circle. How many ways do survivors have to heal themselves? Self care, inner strength, second wind, partially with solidarity or the best way... just a plain med kit. So now it has to compete with those, and the easiest (and the worst) is to make it flat out stupid.
-
The quick shots arent entirely gone. But now it takes .4 seconds to fire instead of .15.

it's an iridescent... it better be 4 free traps.
Though I don't really believe that ultra rare = ultra fair, I hope that is the case. Unless they do something to make party hats have a little consistency like what they did to trapper traps where it's really unlikely you'll get it off first try. I might just be imagining the worst but I just feel like while you're either looking or chases, someone will get the trap off.
But the very least they can do IMO is make her go 100% movespeed when crouched. I get that they don't want her to be able to 'camp' her traps, but it's 2:30 minutes. It's longer than actually camping someone. You're better off just throwing the dude on the hook and staring into his soul.
-
For the video tape, though more accurate to the movies, I wonder if it'll be worth running.
0 traps to place as you please... well unless those 4 traps are free and separate from your 4 reserved ones, which I doubt. I don't know, I still prefer the ability to place the traps as a please than blowing them all at the start. but I mean, killers are weaker at the start, so maybe it will be good.
-
I don't know. I saw that dollmaker gameplay, and that teleport + dolls gave me an Evolve Wraith flashback where you're chasing down this person who doesn't even want to make plays. like, it was just her spamming decoy and running, decoy, running, decoy etc... just doing chip damage and dragging the game out as long as possible till they either lose because of the 20 min hard cap or they finally commit.
Other than that, I'm pretty excited to see it, but IMO, it seems really different from DBD.
-
It's not even out yet.

Oh boy, that's a lot of addon passes. I can't wait for those killers to have the useless *insert disadvantage for double bloodpoints* addons.
Spirit nerf is interesting...they say within 24 meters but isn't that the entire range of her terror radius? Why wouldn't they just say "in her terror radius" then? I'm fine with Survivors hearing when she's phasing but there should be no directional sound, that kinda ruins the whole mind game aspect of her.
Also, can't wait for Pig to get nerfed!
I'm assuming so you cant modify it with insidious or any other TR perk

Doesn't change that she's much slower. Billy's chainsaw has turning restrictions too, but before they nerfed him, he was one of the best, simply because he could get around the map fast and reliably, and Blight benefits from the same factor. Spirit is too slow in comparison.
How often does spirit chase as an m1 killer? One of the best things to do as spirit is to short phase, and short phase often.

How do you find the dev update?
@Peanits said:

We’re back with another Developer Update, a series of posts outlining some of the upcoming changes to Dead by Daylight. You read that title correctly, this is part one; there’s so much to cover this time around that we couldn’t fit it all in one post. (And the writer passed out halfway through typing this.)
Killer Updates
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/10MY7H7HUVMF/bannertrapper.png
The Trapper
Starting things off with a bang (or rather, a snap), we’ve made a series of small changes to The Trapper.
Did you know that the number of bear traps that spawn on the map is random? That’s right, each trial will spawn between 4-6 bear traps at random. Now you can take this interesting little fact and completely forget about it because that’s no longer how it works: now, 6 traps will always spawn (not including the traps you load in carrying). This takes away some of the random element in playing The Trapper and makes each match feel more consistent.
Having more traps is great and all, but wouldn’t it be nice to carry more than one without add-ons? We sure think so. The Trapper will now be able to carry—and start with—two bear traps by default. This will help you get up and running quicker without relying on add-ons. The Trapper’s bag add-ons have been adjusted or repurposed accordingly.
Finally, on the subject of add-ons, we’ve done a pass on some of his least used add-ons and either increased their effects, removed their downsides, or gave them new effects entirely.

The Spirit
The Spirit has been a strong Killer since her release, and with that in mind, we’ve made some changes that aim to increase her skill ceiling whilst also giving Survivors some counterplay.
When close to The Spirit’s husk, Survivors will not receive any indication that The Spirit is phase walking. Originally this was intended to be a fun mind game (“Is she using her power, or is she faking it?”), though in practice, it often doesn’t feel that way. This lack of feedback forces you to make a guess and hope it pays off, which can be great when it works out in your favour, but can also feel awful when it doesn’t.
To add more skill into The Spirit’s counterplay, we’re making two changes:
- Any Survivor within 24m of The Spirit will now hear a directional phase sound. This lets you know whether or not she is phasing and also gives you a rough idea of which direction she’s coming from.
- The Spirit’s footsteps will now kick up dust while she is phasing. Keen Survivors may be able to pinpoint where she is, but tall grass and other obstacles may make it difficult.
These two changes aim to add more skill into playing as and against The Spirit and reduce the reliance on ‘coin flips’ (where you make a guess and hope it pays off).
Additionally, we’ve done a pass on some of The Spirit’s add-ons to bring them more in line and make the lesser used add-ons more appealing. Like The Trapper, some of these changes are small tweaks while others are completely new effects.

Killer Add-ons Update
What does moderately mean? How much more is tremendously compared to considerably? If you ever found yourself in this situation, you’re not alone. We used descriptive words like these to keep descriptions simple, but they end up causing just as much confusion since it’s not immediately clear how much they’re doing. With that in mind, we have done a pass on all Killer add-ons to list their exact effects. We plan to extend this to the rest of the game—Items, perks, etc.—in the future.
On top of that, Killer add-ons that apply a status effect will now have a brief description of what that status effect does.
While our designers were going through hundreds of Killer add-ons one by one to update their descriptions, they also noted down a few for changes as well. There’s far too many to list here, but we’ve changed some add-ons for the following Killers:
- The Hillbilly
- The Nurse
- The Shape
- The Hag
- The Oni
- The Blight
- The Wraith
- The Pig
- The Ghost Face
These changes focus mostly on unused add-ons, or add-ons that are too weak/powerful.

Perks Updates
Variety is the spice of life, and incidentally, Dead by Daylight matches too. In an ongoing effort to give you more options to choose from, we’re updating a huge list of perks. Without further ado, let’s run through some of them quickly:
Vigil
Nice and simple: We’re increasing the recovery rate from 10/15/20% to 20/25/30%. Additionally, Vigil will now increase the recovery rate of the Broken, Exposed, and Oblivious status effects as well (where applicable). In short, more situations where it’s useful, and even faster recovery too.
Babysitter/Guardian
Another small tweak: The rescued Survivor will now receive a speed boost for 4/6/8 seconds in addition to not leaving Scratch Marks or Pools of Blood. The aura reading duration has also been doubled.
For the People
For the People can create some amazing moments, but the trade-off of being Broken can make it very risky to justify using. We’re decreasing the duration of the Broken status effect from 110/100/90 seconds to 80/70/60 seconds.
Hex: Retribution
Previously, Hex: Retribution would only make a Survivor Oblivious if they cleansed a dull totem. Now, interacting with any kind of totem will make them Oblivious. Additionally, we’ve increased the aura reading duration once a hex totem is cleansed to 15 seconds.
Hex: Blood Favor
This perk shipped with very safe conditions so it didn’t get out of control. Upon reflection, we feel comfortable with removing some of these restrictions. Hex: Blood Favor will no longer have a cooldown, and will also activate upon successful Special Attacks as well.
Hex: The Third Seal
Just like the above, we’ve added Special Attacks to Hex: Third Seal as well. This should make the perk more practical on Killers that focus more on dealing damage with their power.
Hex: Thrill of the Hunt
With Boon perks making their way to the game (more on this soon!), we decided to give Thrill of the Hunt some love by extending the speed penalty from Cleansing to Blessing as well.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/UBSSKAL0J967/patchnotesdivider.png
Item & Character Kill Switch
Last but not least, let’s talk about a game health feature: The Item & Character Kill Switch. With over 50 playable characters and their cosmetics, nearly 200 perks and hundreds more add-ons and offerings in the game, sometimes things do break. Rarely, things will break in a way that makes them exploitable, and that can make the next week or two before a fix really rough.
Enter the Kill Switch. (It’s actually a lot nicer than it sounds!)
The Kill Switch allows us to disable anything that’s causing an issue without needing an update. When something breaks and becomes exploitable, we switch it off until it is fixed. This is something we’ve been able to do with maps for a while now to great effect. Disabled items & characters will be clearly marked and cannot be selected.
What this means to you: When that one thing breaks and people start to abuse it, you won’t have to play against it for a week or two until there’s a fix.
With that, we’ll give you a break from reading for today. But we’re just getting started. There’s a lot more to cover, so come back Monday for part 2.

On ptb spirit's power also had 20 second recharge time. And as far as I remember, the directional thing was a bug that came with the release... a time when all killers regardless of actual strength are rated as 'weak'.

Trapper changes sound good.
Spirit im not so sure though. From what i understand so far it seems laughable easy to outplay her now. But well see.
I still think short phasing is going to remain really strong on her.

Given the flashy but uselessness of the add-ons shown for spirit and trapper...
I fully expect nothing but nerfs to good add-ons and non-buffs(Technically a buff but doesn't actually do anything) to bad ones.
When it comes to legion, all I really want are my old never sleep pills. The ones that makes them even faster.
-
Yes! Give her the old concrete boots.
Also. It's only the first part. Hopefully, they are nerfing the top tier and raising the lower killers
-
Yes and no. I think against the older m1 killers, it can be a massive waste of time.
Against some of the newer killers with anti-loop. It's more of a minor inconvenience.
-
What I really want is for killers to be able to jump into the hatch.

Awwwwwwwfully snippy for someone who claims they have evidence to back a claim, only to then say "I'll look for it later."
Want to know what they REALLY said? I'll start!
"Skill based matchmaking ratings are also separate for each Killer, meaning you’ll have tougher matches with the Killer you’re really good at, but easier matches when you’re trying out a new Killer for the first time."
"They have literally always said that it would work like that though?"
Have they, though?
From: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/256979/news-skill-based-matchmaking-recap#latest
One of the main focuses of this test was to try a different approach to how we handle “unrated” players. An unrated player is someone who doesn’t have any matches played that have been tracked by the system. Usually, these players are new. However, they can also be people returning from a break! In this test, we only used matches from the past 3-ish weeks to build our SBMM (rather than our customary months of play data). This meant that our initial SBMM values for most players were a little inaccurate and required some additional games to adjust.
"How did the test go?"
- Halfway through our test, we were seeing many reports of high-skill Killers being matched against low-skill Survivors. At around 1PM EST on Thursday (around halfway through the test) we enabled a system that would assign unrated Killers a starting Rating based on their other Killers. To put this another way, if you had a high Rating with The Shape and The Trapper then decided to try out The Oni for the very first time, your Oni rating would start higher than the normal default due to your experience with other Killers. Enabling this appears to have resulted in an improvement of match quality, and we intend to improve this system in our next iteration.
This is the way it's always worked to avoid some people getting smurfed on.

You can't redeem 'nice' on PS5. It says 'not available on your current platform'.
So they are making platform specific codes now? Nice to see that you split the player base bhvr.
tbf, It's more of a meme code like the 'smole' (at least I think that's what it was that gave you 1 bp) that awards 69 bp.

Killer meta doesn't compare to survivor meta, otherwise this topic wouldn't be here
I mean.. they are both brainless and boring. Ruin 1 for slowdown, ruin 2 incase ruin 1 breaks, manual ruin incase ruin 1 & 2 fall, and tinker to show where to apply ruin by holding w at them.
If that survivor meta is skill-less, I think it's fair to mention other metas that are just the same.

-
Does it or doesn't it not? I heard one streamer say it doesn't normally, but if you purposely whiff, you have collision.
Have I been wasting time hitting tiles while playing a budget bodyblock wraith?
-
RIP for the oni that couldn't win a 2 v 1 at 5 gens. I expect to read a post about it later... though, I'd sooner believe they felt bad about the others giving up, then someone being that bad.
But either way, it always feels nice to just be in sync with a random group... or single person in this case.
