You're the one who sounds upset.
Try a rationalised argument next time haha.
#killertears
Im not upset at all, i find your "history lesson" was a good joke. Survivors were invincible and they got nerfed for good reason. They are still easily the power role, unless your too unskilled to run circles properly. Your wall of text is a desperate attempt to twist things, we all know DbD's balance. I cant believe humans actually believe this, but here you are

Actually he's facts are on point.
History OF THE GAME:
Since release, killer has been buffed, survivor nerfed. This is important to understand and through examples you’ll see why that has happened. It shows you why the game has had the trajectory it has and why we are now in our current quagmire.
It all started with the introduction of swf and the 2 escapes, 2 kills devs unit of metric. You don’t have to like the metric but it’s whats given the survivors all their nerfs and all the killers current buffs.
The devs failed to understand that people would want to play with friends in an online game (serious), what we got was ‘lobby wars’. Where survivors would join different lobbies looking for their friends and leave if they couldn’t find them. It was horrible trying to find games. Hence why we got swf, that completely unbalanced the game by creating coordinated survivors that could communicate. The devs have been nerfing survivor ever since and completely crippled solo survivor play.
Killers now are up around 70% kills due to the trajectory of the game and the devs metric system, unless you feel their metric system is bad, in which case they can undo all the changes I've just mentioned....
It also important to mention marketing and advertising. There’s nothing special about survivors, they are just reskins with some new perks that all play the same. THATS IT. EACH killer has its own unique play style and as you see from their advertising, its always new killers they promote. Survivors get a mention, but its never really the selling point.
DBD reddit, back in the day was all about poking fun at survivors and giving you the impression that every second game is SWF and heavily biased against killers. Which was a lie. OP SWF games are maybe one in 30 games with most swf games being friends who are just wanting to have fun and usually end up wiping. But there was no push back, the killer echo room there would down vote anything survivor sided.
That coupled with the points I mentioned previously meant that a lot of survivor mains left the game. Which is kind of obvious, I mean you understand the devs unit of metric sure, but you just watch nerf, after nerf, after nerf as it all gets taken away. Why would you stay for that? Its kind of miserable.
What has this created? In short. Entitlement. Killer mains know if they whine, they get what they want.
THIS is the environment the devs have created and what you see on the forums.
You poor survivor mains. I miss the days when i could stand at a window invincibly. Pressing Space every few seconds like a god. Those were the balanced days. Deciding wether i want to die or live. Now they took away the choice. I may die even if i dont want to! Death to all killer mains amirite

Still no response to second chance stacking. No wonder killers leave, if you only take crutches from one side. See ya in 1-2 years

I cannot confirm one way or the other, I'm just saying that this isn't the first time we've tried to cut down on perk stacking. Exhaustion perks proved to be too much in the past, and it was getting to the point where slowdown perks were in the same boat.
Game slowdown stacking is the same as Second chance stacking. You put 4x perks to stop the other side from doing their main objective to win. Im surprised, that the problem has been identified that quickly in gen slowdown. But for 3 years we have the same 4x Second chance meta which can lead up to 20x Second chances denying the killers main objective. Singlehandedly winning them the game through perk stacking. I dont see how that is any different from slowdown stacking.

You queue up for a game with minimal chances of winning and maximum chances of negativity. It would be insane to still look forward to it after 100's and 1000's of repetitions, expecting something different than a game that is heavily stacked against you outside of the games intended balance.
Or stop hitting yourself idiot. my 2c

Point out where I said it doesn't exist. Exactly you can't because that's not what I said. If you actually read my comment then you would see it say it doesn't happen as often as you say it does. you might run into a few in red ranks but it's not every few games.
"I don't run into toxic swfs."
Point is, i dont really care wether its 40% or 60% or 80%. I've played years against 4-swfs in their sweatiest forms and know about the unbalance and how they never get fixed. We dont even get rewarded, no bloodpoint bonus, no balance changes. You get free insults though, now tell me, why a casual player would want to do this. Im a pretty hardcore gamer and i can beraly tolerate this

Yet I can get on rank 1 on killer and I don't run into toxic swfs. I rarely run into the "toxic" swf groups your talking about. The only swf groups I run into is the people who just wanna play the game with their friends.
Well thats some bullshit to say they dont exist.
Tunnelcamping doesnt exist. See?
Why would toxic SWF be such a big topic since release, if it "doesnt exist" or "rarely happens". Obviously its a big ######### deal

@Mikey4Hire said:
Y'all realise that If we get rid of the option for people to play together or give a penalty just because your playing with friends then half the survivors are gonna quit dbd, including me and my friends. Swf is the only thing survivors can do to have fun in the game anymore. You guys act like all swf is a bully squad and is determined o ruin your game.
Its just reality, that highrankeds are flooded with toxic 4-swfs.
I dont mind survivors playing with their friends, you guys are awesome. Thats how SWF should be used. Have a good time with friends in an online game.
But thats not how SWF at highranks is used. The reality on SWF is just very toxic
-
The atmosphere as survivor. Balance aside, its a pretty looking, immersive world and fun to goof around with others.
The variety as killer and playing a fastpaced actiongame. Ripping survivors with chainsaws, hatchets and looking at them menacingly is fun, there's so many ways to murder and the variety makes it fun
-
They should disable chat from one side to the other. Make a green thumps up gg buttton that you can click instead.
And if survivors want to tell killer something, they can click another button to ask for chat permission. I dont want to disable chat with all survivors, just with certain ones. I want to mute "xX_SniperGOD_2007_EZ_Xx", not "DankHaze420suuup"

Personally, I think killers who dodge EVERY SWF are just bad at the game.
Yes there are death squads and bullies in the SWF pool, but not all of them are like that. So if you dodge SWFs, you're kiiinda admitting your own skill suck because you're saying you're not confident in your skills to take on a group of players that may be optimal and may be not.
One of the reasons I'm against giving the killer an indication of SWF is because a lot of killers tend to think they're not good enough or that they have a stigma they are completely unfair.
And that would just kill matchmaking time for everyone. The killer, solo Qs, casual SWFs. It'll just be horrible as killers who dodge would only want to face players they think are fair to their mind.
Im gonna be honest, I dont dodge them cause i fear they're too good. I dodge them, cause the most toxic games BY FAR are from 4-swf games.
And i want to keep playing killer for years to come without ruining my mood from depressed teenies. Some of them play solely to ruin your fun and they exist quite often at highranks. So i take a big fat negative factor out of this game. I just dont like dealing with those wannabe pro squads, who think they're ochidoooo duuuude, leeeel. Too old for this

What you talking about at rank 1? These days all you have to do as a killer is get to rank 12-14 to get matched against rank 1-4.
You're right, they're expanding. No one wants to play highranked killer and 4-swfs get dodged till they get a poor lowranked killer who doesnt know to dodge them yet.
-
Expand your 1 match experience to months playing at rank 1 against the good 4-swf teams, that know the drill. They all play the same, they all do the same things, its always the same against those sweatsquads. You gotta warm up, put on your sweatshirt, remove all feelings of mercy and play flawlessly for a CHANCE at winning. Its rarely going to be fun and the most toxic players usually attract each other and make 12 year old 4-swf squads.
Thats my experience with 4-swf. Yes there are good games among them and normal buddys playing with each other. I love playing against 2x swfs. But 4-swfs are rarely buddys, they're just random toxic people grouping up.
-
Iirc its dynamic mmr, so no side will outrace the other. You gain less and lose more against lowerranked opponents. So ideally, if you have an average mmr among killers, you will face average mmr survivors. A top10% rated killer will face the top10% rated survivors.
But it depends on their system, mmr could inflate later on.

one of the devs replied to a post i made and said that any dev who has anything to do with balances is red ranks
They still get input from higher positions and the rest of the team. If you're the only few red ranked killers in a 100+ man team, its hard to convince them from red ranked killer problems. Thats why balance changes are stagnatingly slow. I wish Peanits and not_Queen would join the balance team, they're real red ranked killers atleast.

I wish GTA 6 would hurry up

Yes, manipulating the red stain separates the good and the great killers. One of the few skillcaps in this game is to abuse the safety of the red stain against survivors.

Genrush, Godwindows
Tunnelcamping (Forcing 1vs3 asap), OP Addons
Matches can be finished too quickly from either side.
-
I dont spare toxic or skilled survivors. Not cause i treat both as the same, quite the opposite. I respect good survivors and i dont want to pity them. And giving hatch feels like a pity price.
If someone is good at nodding and dbd communication, i may give them hatch too. But i generally dont give hatch in tense games, only in stomps. Not out of disrespect, i just dont care about hatch in general... like at all.

OK so, just be to clear, because literally this chain with you is turning into clown world.
The devs made that statement, regarding red ranks. Your 'nah ah' doesn't change that, so unless you got something more for me, I think our moment is over.
The devs dont play red ranks. They're asking us longtime players and streamers, on what needs to be changed in red ranks because they are geniune, cute rank 20s. The devs have no clue on red ranks themselves, we are their main source of information. Its balanced when we say its balanced.

Look, your entitled to your opinion, but your post count ALONE tells me you're more engaged than the average player. You have a few thousand worth of hours in the game no doubt, which is also above the average player.
If you're like me you learnt doing skill checks a long time ago and if you've played since release then you've been there at every step when new mechanics were introduced along the way like 'hex' and 'cleanse' which is now common place.
When Wildstar was released in showcased itself as a leet gamers only game. You know what happened to that game? It's dead. It's dead because it chest thumped so hard that all the potential leet players that started off as newbs said forget it.
This game is balanced around red ranks according to the devs based off their metric system of 2 escape 2 kills. This makes sense because its the games 'end game'.
At lower ranks you have your potential leet players, you have to accommodate them in some way because they keep your game populated and your queue times down. You may have your own way to do that, but from what I saw newbs got absolutely DECIMATED against reasonable killers with hex ruin up, because they just had no capacity to manage what was happening.
I don't really get your argument about new ruin. It's the difference between a passive punishment and the constant 'you did it wrong' in your face of old ruin, every time you missed. Again you can complain its holding hands and maybe they would have learnt, maybe they would have gotten better. But my guess is the devs saw what was happening and knew it needed to change because seeing a game 4k with each survivor having less than 3k BP is ridiculous. I can't imagine newbs sticking around for that and I doubt you want a dead game.
With 70% kill rates at red ranks, those poor killers weren't exactly struggling. There needed to be push back.
"This game is balanced around red ranks"
🤡

Its builds like these the devs said they plan on nerfing soon sadly. I forgot if they said this but I hope they at least make the perks decent on their own. Ex:thanatophobia
Hopefully they only prevent stacking them, like new ruin/pop.
Devs should finally adress the root of problems, of why killers feel the need to use full slowdown perks. We shouldn't have one meta loadout to rule them all or get genrushed. Its so extreme with and without them and another bandaid situation.
-
Stacking gen slowdown is the most effective. Corrupt, Pop, Surge, Thrilling, Sloppy, etc. Chase perks used to be the best, but gen slowdown is a force multiplier you cant ignore.

His power and design don't even make sense, how does a chainsaw generate enough force to propel you forward, does it run on quantum energy or something? Almost all the rank 1s I've seen thus far this season have just spammed hillbilly, seems to be a power decrepancy between him and other killers to me.
Yeah other killers suck ass in this game, bluntly put. Once you face a decent team, you're hardlimited with M1-killers. And Billy is the only M1-killer who is toptier, so he does have a special place tierwise, if you still want to learn fundamentals.
-
Wouldn't mind swapping the extra distance for more i-frames. it needs a lag compensation mechanich since dedicated servers.
-
Least: Hag, because i have the least impact against her. Its already decided wether i queued solo/swf and brought flashlights/urban evasion when the game starts and you either counter her or you lose against a good one
Most: Billy, because he plays basic dbd. He can make plays with the chainsaw but it has counterplay aswell. Feels like a skillbased matchup.

To me, people defending Hillbilly's game design just shows how many people don't know what they're talking about.
I mean, they can disagree with me - they're wrong - but they can disagree with me. So their opinions mean less than nothing to me.
The devs will eventually nerf him because he's not in-line with the other characters & I'll just be able to sit here thinking "told ya so" while they then go on to defend something else & pretend like they never was behind Hillbilly in the first place.
You can't give every killer cooldowns on their abilities except one & then say that one is fine. Either everyone is worked the same way, or none of them are.
Honestly, it doesn't have to go beyond comparing Oni to Hillbilly. That sums it up right there. Hillbilly always has a one shot. Oni has to collect blood to build to his & it's limited. Hillbilly can run forever, Oni can't. How is it still a debate?
Its a circle of life in dbd to complain about billy at first, then get good and call him balanced when you're experienced.
You dont have to believe me, but it will happen to you too. Once you're good at survivor, billy becomes fair. Until then, you will get chainsawed a lot.
Billy isn't the prime example of balance since release for no reason. He is overly effective in the lower ranks, but thats where git gud comes into play.

How do you know how many? I haven't seen any official stats released.
That's a fair point about the feeling for the rage quitter (some prob are just as satisfied with dying) but it is effectively the same for the other participants. This distinction is immaterial when you're one of the remaining Survivors. Actually at least with a DC, don't you get 600 points? A suicide provides nothing.
I just went by feeling. Havent seen an increase of suiciders on first hook. Atleast nothing noticable, like all DC'ers suddenly suicide instead.
They lead to the same result, but not everyone switches to suiciding with DC penalties. Some just stop disconnecting. Others will eat the penalty. And some switch to suiciding, but overall we have more good games.
Lets be real. We are humans, we dont care about others. If someone has to ruin 4 peoples games to have a better time, he will do it, depending on his morals. We're a mixed bag of morals, its not gonna work without rules as we have seen in the last 3,5 years. Like op gives a ######### about other people. Why should we give a ######### about him. Make rules for everyone and done.
-
@Nicholas said:
What people are missing is that DC penalties are suppose to discourage DC which hurts everyone including The Killer. However clearly the stated goal isn't being achieved bc people circumvent by dying on their first hook. Hopefully in time this will be less of a problem and people start dealing with stuff they dislike.
Its not that many people suiciding on first hook. I feel like most survivors DC reactively. If you take away that split moment where they rage hard and tears fill up, you take away the satisfaction of their ragequit. They want to deny the failed dead hard right now. Not on the hook later. Its telling the killer now or never that you disagree.
Suiciding on hook is another message. Its pathetic, even for the suicider. Ragequitting gives instant satisfaction to the DC'er which will encourage and excuse future ragequitting. It may look like its the same, but it is not. That said, would be great to prevent first hook suicides next (like autostruggle and no chance to kobe)

Or how about this...
Turn the game on - Play for say 2 hours
Have 10 games in that period.
4 games feature disconnects.
That’s 6 normal games and 4 ruined by disconnects
Problem.
Now...
Have 10 games
4 feature suiciding survivors or afk killers
That’s still my time wasted with 4 non-games.
However at least before if people were going to be babies and dc immediately then it meant I could quickly get back into search and look for a new game. Making those 10 games more like 12.
Now however if somebody doesn’t want to play you still need to see it through to the end of the trial. Oh killer doesn’t like this map? Guess they’re going afk then yay just gonna hold M1 for a few minutes before I’m allowed to join a new game.
Hook suicides and afk killers were only a minor problem before as they were infrequent however now those cases FROM MY EXPERIENCE have skyrocketed.
You make so many assumptions about me it’s disgusting. I could easily make assumptions about you. Oh you have all the free time in the world? Yeah I can see why it doesn’t bother you.
However for people like myself with a full time job and other things going on? If I am able to set aside time for 10 games and 4 of them are ruined then what does it matter if its disconnects or suicides/afk? I’m still not getting to play the actual game. I’m not having good matches regardless.
“Oh wow the killer has a good start. This is going to be a tense game where we need to claw our way back.....oh nevermind Nea killed herself on 1st hook. Oh now Nancy had too. Gg I guess”
”Oh wow Ormund. Wonder who the killer is, wonder how good my teammates are, wonder if this will be a tense and exciting game....oh wait killer doesn’t like the map so he’s afk. Hmm guess I better get through these gens so I can join a game with somebody who actually wants to play”
All they have done is improve upon one problem but create another. Know what you sound like? A killer main who couldn’t care less so long as he gets the hook points. Some of us want a competitive game. That’s why we’re playing multiplayer and not against bots. I’m assuming for you though when the survivors/killer gives up you’re just giddy with happiness about the EZ win.
You know the real root of your problem? The 4/10 who disconnect. Without them, you get 10/10 good games.
The only lasting solution is to prevent DC's. And how do we do that? Well if the 4/10 are unintegrable into society, they get kicked out. If the 4/10 cant stop due to deep thoughts of selfrighteousness they get banned.
We dont want to play with you, just to be clear. Extraclear. You go away, we're happy

Legion just needs a less awkward cooldown phase. Though he excels in weeding people out, and his add-ons stack in interesting ways like iri-button and TR related perks.
Pig has too many weaknesses to her stealth that aren't too obvious. Best use of it has people doubting her position, not just ambushing people. Can't do that if you're bright red in an open field while spinechill tells em if she went back or is still around. Too high profile especially against swf. And beartraps are a great stall but no staying power against coordinated survivors.
Pig is a bag of tricks. If you compare one aspect to another killer, she will be the weaker one. But she has more aspects than other killers. Crouching to remove TR, Uncrouching for grabs and fake ambushes at loops, Ambushing to counter some loops, RBT for stalling. There is no flow chart to her, you have to check survivors individually how they deal with ambushes at loops.
She definetely suffers more against good survivors due to the counterable ambush, but other than that. She is noticably more efficient than most M1 killer in my experience. A good M1 killer
-
Leatherface against good survivors.
Clown needs buffs in a lot of ways, but he has his moments. His weakness to genrush and thus losing the game usually trumps his advantages though. Which is a shame since he can have a great but unrewarding skillcurve.
Pig and Legion are underrated imo. Stalling survivors is incredibly powerful and having a basekit stall is so, so good.

Then I am very truly sorry there are people out there that never had enough life experiences to understand this.

Those people play video games at night. While they are the watchmen as you sleep, sound and comfortable at night. Go talk with that person that works the fire station, ask them what they do at night. They aren't just sitting around doing paperwork or watching that old vacuum tube television.
Those people normally dont expect a videogame to revolve around their lifestyle.
Playing videogames at your job and alt+f4'ing when customers arrive should NOT be considered when implementing DC penalties. Expecting the whole commmunity to adjust to your ######### play times with 6 free DCs is out of my mind.

The discussion always goes the same way. They jump in with map size, like it really matters, anyway. I don't even know what that means. The bigger the maps, the more spread out the gens tend to be. Last I checked, all survivors move slower than the killer anyway. Map size is just another content streamer point of no value, as they don't struggle in most games they play, no matter the map size.
The infamous gen rush that seems to happen every game according to this forum, it literally doesn't shout more about how bad that killer really is. If/when 2 gens go quickly, they're outside gens, meaning the 3-4 gen patrol strat is on. You have to be a complete tool to be losing those games.
Survivor perks, BT, DS, Adrenaline complaints are literally bad players whining about things that shouldn't even affect them anyway. You get him with a DS, what you doing tunnelling and picking up a survivor? Why you hanging around the hook for BT? Last I checked, hitting a BT survivor means they need to mend then heal, taking them out the game for around 30 seconds or dragging another survivor away from gens, while you chase down the unhooker. Adrenaline is a joke perk, it's only useful against killers that can't stop gens, I haven't really seen it since green purples.
Points on SWF being a strong tool are fair, but I love those games the most, they're the ones that make me a more effective killer and the games where everything is hectic and busy, how it should be. It's literally my role as killer to keep an adrenaline fuelled, awkward to deal with game going until I get all the survivors. When 4 players are communicating and planning, it makes my win all the more sweeter. Even when i lose these games, it's still good points and great fun. I wish I faced more 4 man squad, as most games end up being complete walkovers against randoms or small swf squads.
The sooner matchmaking works properly, the better. Hopefully, I can get the great survivors i want to play against and you guys can have the potato survivors you obviously need.
You forgot Killermain btw.

Dont get me wrong, Solo queue survivors have it bad. The amount of hatch games Ive had as a solo queue is astounding. But you also have plenty of great perks to help in these bad games. Not to mention that competent survivors, even as solo queue, can still give Killers a run for their money.
If Im going to be honest, with how matchmaking is right now, Killers most definitely have it worse. Numerous games with atleast one, if not more red ranks. As a rank 8/9. And can I just mention how much worse it feels to play Killer right now? Getting multiple bad games in a row as Killer is demoralizing, and unlike survivors, Killers cant really justify their loss as "Just bad teammates." They get screwed over by quite a few maps, perks, and now the matchmaking system. Plus, some survivors like to send hatemail just to piss the Killer off more.
So as much as I think that solo queues need some buffs, I also think Killers are priority number 1. At the rate we're going, Killers are going to all but disappear from the game because they dont want to play in a climate where they hardly stand a chance of winning half the time. This isnt the time for a Survivor V Killer mentality, the Killer side of DBD has some serious issues to address, lest it kill DBD.
You pretty much hit the nail. Killers should still be the buffed side, but maybe we can sneak in some solo survivors buffsIts night and day playing randoms and swfs and i'd rather have that gap closed first before balancing around two entirely different powerlevels.
Im curious for the new matchmaking without ruin and the stats. It will take another year or so until we get there....

Honestly though majority of Self Care users tend to be bad. Outside low ranks where no one knows what's going on and Self Care is useful any other rank or survivor will be using better perks.
I rarely if ever seen anyone take it slow and steady anymore. I do know that if I wait a moment to start gens killers will bypass me and I can get a free gen.
Selfcare is the most used perk and most players are bad. Dont think thats related though. I can agree, that you can equip better perks though. Meta perks.
Its playstyle dependant. I dont have fun playing the strongest loadouts with medkits and 4x 2nd chances. Even though its way stronger, but it takes away all the thrills of the game. Selfcare seems balanced to me, so i use it with bk.
