Holy crap, I didnt realize how popular my post would get. There are 2 quick things unrelated that I wanna mention.
1. For everyone here, I am seeing a lot of disagreements. Totally fine to disagree, but it seems to also have an insult at whoever it is being said to. A lot has been said towards @Waffleyumboy. No need to throw insults at him, and no need for him to insult back. If you didn't insult him and I read it like that, I am sorry for the misconceptions. If you, waffle, didn't insult anyone and I read it as such, i am sorry for that also. I might not agree with what he says on every post, but that doesn't mean he should have insults thrown at him or from him.
2. I see I caught the attention of @Peanits. May I ask of you check my submission for a core mechanic idea. I put it under "Share Your Work"
I don't think insults were meant to be slung around, and I'm sorry if anyone found what I said to be insulting them. Thanks for the recognition though man!

Wait you actually think that? Maybe when it's down to 2 gens to complete, but early game survivors can absolutely set themselves up to avoid 3 gen situations.
I doubt survivors choose the killer's patrol route.

So not free pressure. Because you can hit them and....do what next? Eat DS, or wait and look at them.
Your response is not an answer to my question. It's simply trying to disregard it completely.
Hitting survivors is how the killer applies pressure. How come people on this forum don't understand the most basic things sometimes?

How is a survivor, working on a gen, knowing that you cant just grab and hook them, "free pressure"?
Unless you mean slugging them and watching. Which still leaves 3 people doing work.
If a survivor sticks on a gen in front of you they're giving you a free hit. Nothing more, nothing less.

I said 2 gens, and while I agree that the game can get harder the fewer gens survivors have to complete due to a shrinking play area, numerically the percentage is accurate and it's not always the case if survivors don't set up 4/3 gen situations and on some maps 3 genning is basically not a thing. And that's also why I never said anything about a kill, I said every survivor starts the game as if they'd been hooked once, which while reducing the overall number of hooks the killer has to do still leaves it at 2 per survivor to get a kill.
As for what you've "noticed", maybe you're just blinded by your own opinions?
Survivors aren't the ones with power over where gens are done. That wasn't an opinion piece. Any other questions?

Funny, because that is exactly what I felt when reading your posts!
Calling for nerfs but masking them as a "QoL change". Just like the Ruin nerf. And no, I'm not bias, I play survivor for more than 80% of my matches, and prefer it to playing killer. I am just more honest when I post.
You have a good day as well.
Yes changing the way the speed boost works and buffing solo to swf levels is dripping with bias and hypocrisy. Thanks for correcting me on my mistake of not putting heavy killer bias into what I say.

Hey Peanits I only want to say that you are right about noed, but wrong about DS.
Survivors abuse the 60 sec invulnerability to repair generators or to do risky moves to make you eat their DS. Stop with the anti-tunnel perk argument because it is not an anti-tunnel perk anymore at red ranks.
Noed can't be abused.
Have a good day!
Oh no, survivors are giving me free pressure!! What next, complaining about survivors grouping on gens?

I don't get that logic. You get significantly more points for winning as a killer than as a survivor. If you are stomping on the survivors as the killer, you will get like 28,000+ per game. If you are stomping on the killer as survivor, you will get like 10,000, because nobody is getting hooked and you only get 1250 points for doing a gen by yourself.
As survivor a good game and a survival usually nets 25k+ bp if you go for them.

Nurse, Spirit, Legion (for some reason), Ruin.
There's also the persistent bugs and the new ones with this patch: Audio, flash lights don't give any indication of blinding now, Hag's lunge after teleport is borked, Freddy now has a delay after setting snares, and personally I've felt like Doc's lunge is way shorter than it should be but might just be me.
Bugs aren't nerfs. Thanks for helping me make a string.

@Lucama said:
I wonder what the response from survivors would be if there was a situation in the game where every survivor goes straight into struggle when hooked, and the devs said "just don't not having the first hook, focus on not getting hooked twice".
And for the record, that's less % of the Killer's objective than 2 generators are for the survivor's objective.
You're looking at the percents wrong. Any experienced dbd player knows 3 gens is less than 33% of the survivor objective while 1 kill is over 50% of the killer objective. It's not linear, and I'm starting to notice you don't know much about dbd. The first thing you must grasp is objectives are not linear.

Whispers activates at 32m and her terror radius is 32m. so without Monitor people can assume youre on them because they can hear you for a short time until you croutch. thats why its a hard decision^^
I think at 32m it's very faint and doesn't sound like you're approaching them. Besides, SB + Nurse's is too good a combo to pass up.

I would probably run the meta perks of corrupt + pop goes. I never play M1 killers without bamboozle, in case I load into a map with abusable windows. Fourth slot would probably be whispers. No room for BBQ unless I am specifically farming BP.
I think playing killer without bbq is a waste of time. I could hop on survivor and get the same amount of bp for half the effort.

I just wish it would deactivate when a survivor unhooked a teammate, healed a teammate, or worked on a gen. I understand why survivors run it. Especially since the ruin nerf.

You can make all the comparisons you want, just make sure they're equal. Do any of the perks you mention give the killer a way to completely disable them? No.
Do any of those perks only take effect at the very end of the match? No.
Do killers have any sort of indication that survivors might be running those perks? No.
With Noed, you always have an indication that the killer might be running it as soon as you see a dull totem. You can completely remove a perk from a killers repertoire by cleansing their totems. Killers have no such luck, and the closest thing I could think of is slugging to avoid DS.
You say you are thinking about new survivors, but the fact of the matter is you're just thinking about yourself. A new survivor should prioritize themselves with learning the game and the counters that they could use against killers. They shouldn't have their hands held at the expense of the killers fun. The game is supposed to feel risky, the purpose of a survivor is to survive a dangerous environment.
But sure, neuter another perk that killers use, soon enough you and all future survivors will be playing lobby simulator where you queue for a match only to alt+tab to go watch some Youtube.
I wasn't calling for a neuter, I was suggesting a QoL change. Also paragraph 1 and 3 are incorrect. I'm going to ignore what you say because it is dripping with bias and hypocrisy. No offense to you personally, I just don't want to waste my time. Good day.
-
Doesn't whispers already tell you the correct time to crouch without m&a? SB is really good with Nurse's and I think you made the right decision.
-
@Keene_Kills said:
Killers aren't leaving over one perk. They're leaving over a long, drawn-out campaign to simplify survivor gameplay in order to make it more fun at the extreme expense of the killers' enjoyment. It's like a lover who's done you wrong time and again, and you keep going back to them, hoping they will change. It's a toxic relationship.
Ruin nerf was just the straw that broke the camel's back. Then the dev Q&A yesterday confirmed it for most folks. The game plan going forward is quite clear, the lover has not changed, and many killers are giving up on holding out hope. Simple as that.
Yes I remember that long string of survivor buffs and killer nerfs too /s
-
Agreed, Nurse just isn't worth it atm. I expect a few small buffs within a year or 2 :)

No but I would actually like it if matches lasted more than 3 minutes because people did more than just sitting at gens mate I want old Ruin back because it kept potatoes out of redranks aswell I never said that I want to mash everyone to dust but I want an interresting experience not a singular chase followed by being stressed and running around the map like a headless chicken hoping to find any survivors because BBQ didn't show you any of them
That's cool, have fun mate

Just because it doesnt activate doesnt mean it didnt serve its purpose. You still didnt get hooked and another survivor can pick you up, or just bring unbreakable.
No I mean slugging as in slugging the unhooker (which tunnelers can do) then going back to the unhooked and downing them. Hook the unhooker and you're free to tunnel :)
-
You want ruin to come back so you can mash more potatoes? Have any other exciting plans for what you would do if ruin came back? Sigh yawn sigh
-
That would make DS never activate. Why? Slugging exists and is now apparently a prevalent strategy. Like I always say, my idea is probably healthier for both sides.

What's the point of listing perks that have been deemed problematic and changed by the devs themselves when talking about one that they've said is in a good place?
Maybe the Small Game rework will have a totem counter. It probably won't, though, given that they've stated they want totems to play a bigger role for survivors.
I agree noed is in a good place, but I can see from the viewpoint of those it frustrates. Hopefully small game can be actually useful xD

When you watch something that makes you very uncomfortable. If you'd shudder, wince or recoil from a situation it could be viewed as a cringeworthy situation.
If you get a physical reaction from a Game Developer incorrectly stating that Leader affects Gen speeds then I would say you have a low tolerance. As it is, Leader affected Gen speeds from the Launch of the game in 2016 until January 2019.
Haha I guess I do have low tolerance because they changed that [BAD WORD] a whole year ago lmao.

Around 50% of games at least 1 dcs I would estimate

What would be considered cringy? I think that's exactly what a cringe moment is.

No, nothing wrong with NOED, speed boost is fine as is. Killer is playing with a handicap for the entire match until all gens are done, the perk itself is easily counter-able by cleansing totems throughout the match or even looking for it after it activates.
There is no need for a totem counter- that would just be the devs holding survivors hands. Detectives hunch and maps exist, if anyone has a problem with NOED then they could use them to find the totem.
I'm just making suggestions is less discouraging to newer players and yet retains all of the reasons people use it. Instead of defending a perk blindly because you don't care about survivors, hiw about you recognize the problems and give constructive feedback towards solutions. I've heard this ilk dozens and dozens of times, I'm not enjoying the music this broken record is spitting out.
Here's one for you: No, nothing is wrong with MoM, free hit is fine as it is. Survivor is playing with a handicap all match until they get 3 hits, the perk itself is easily counter-able by not hitting survivors throughout the match or just not hitting them after it activates.
There is no need for MoM to be nerfed-that would just be the devs holding the killers' hands. Instadowns and grabs exist, if anyone has a problem with MoM they can use those to down survivors.
I can do another one for BL or old DS or even old SC if you like :)

Thanks a lot @Fibijean!I only caught the last 15 min or so.However,a lot of these dev responses sound like a whole lotta bullshit to me,and i still fear for the future of the game as survivor bias reigns supreme.
Or maybe you just don't know what it's like to be a game developer?
-
Noed would be fine without the speed boost imo, maybe they could replace it with less pallet stun and break pallets faster or reduced cooldown from missed attacks? The speed boost is obnoxious and unnecessary to me. Maybe if they made the speed boost based on dull totems remaining I could tolerate it. Anything but a free flat boost tbh.
-
I pretty much only play survivor in swf now...solos have no way of knowing how many dulls got cleansed. We cleanse all the totems every game and it's funny to see so many killers dc when their noed doesn't activate but my mate's DS does lmao. Gg

Thanks Fibi, keep up the good work.

Move your skillchecks and secondary action to mousewheel down.
Try it, it will change your life. My rationale? Not only do you not have to smash your poor spacebar (which arguably has a longer finger to button actuation distance, improving reaction time)... but your left hand is free to sip your beverage of choice and eat snacks. I also find it makes DH a little bit easier to control in the rare instance that I actually use DH.
Is thing an old topic or an awesome alternative that nobody talks/knows about? I'm curious about your opinions on the subject...

Just because there's a "[BAD WORD]" in there doesn't make it rude. There's no bad words in the world. Only bad intentions. And being rude is not my intention at all.
If it's anyone I'm being rude too, it's BHVR and mocking their inability to fix game issues after months, leaving players to deal with them. Some issues persisting for over a year with no fix in sight.
I guess that makes sense...

Where did I say to ignore fixing DS? I Ctrl + F the word "ignore" and the first mention of it is your post.
I said other things have been broken for months, didn't even mention the things on killer side have been broken for over a year.
The double standards of "FIX DS IMMEDIATELY AS A PRIORITY" but "don't fix killer things that have been busted for months."
How mature.
People don't have to mention every thing that needs fixing when they want something fixed.

Feel free to help convince BHVR to fix Clown which has been broken for over a year and became completely broken once dedicated servers went live, then.
Killers having their powers broken, or a core mechanic of the game being broken is a bit more important than a single perk. Sorry you take that as "acting immature", though.
Yes let's ignore all the problems because your problems are very hard to fix. How mature.

Shouldn't her power have lethality?

How do I like easy mode if I play fair n square on R1 and going for 12 hooks?
It could be you are unaware of how your comment gets understood. If you tell me I play ez mode, then you look down on me without any reason. Making you so much better because you play "hard mode". I recommend you to pay more attention to your phrasing.
Maybe you can adress the threads topic with your own thoughts instead of making this sort of comments.
I didn't realize easy mode was such an offensive term, killer mains use it to describe playing as survivor all the time. It never really bothered me so I didn't figure it would bother you, sorry.
