Correct. Neither promote constructive discussion and both are very simple and misleading pieces of advice.

π Don't expect much different from you at this point. Try not to get banned again, ok?
Just saying, your idea in its current state does next to nothing :/
You can pretty much survey most maps for the remaining totems in those 15 seconds you suggest solos should spend "consulting the bones".
-
@Poweas said:
I like that actually, like, I like it a LOT. It's new, it's fun.
If it took 1 second or less I'd be behind it. It's flavorful and fun in addition to closing the gap then.
-
Also, this idea is hilariously bad. "Guys I have an idea to bring solos to swf level, but it requires they take over twice as long to cleanse totems! Pretty good, right?"
-
Oh my...
How does a totem counter make NOED useless? Swf are already in the game and are already 50% of matches. Making there be a totem counter 100% of matches seems like an easy consistency fix for more reliable stats moving forward. Keeping the gap open has no justification.

Lol yea, but well at least there's mods and devs that are active and has a lil bit better community than steam forums or reddit.
Yep, that's why I chose the forums. Plus, I made friends here quickly. I haven't checked out the discord yet but I've heard good things.

For me, Borrowed Time. I despise how it encourages stupid plays with little draw back. How somebody can simply follow me to a hook, wait for me to start walking way, get the save, and still give them BT. I hate that, in the EGC, it's almost a free escape.
I can work around DS, unless I down them near the exit gate, then it's, again, a free escape. I can work with Adrenaline, usually. Unbreakable can be annoying, but doable. OoO is practically broken against Trapper. Yet it's BT that I loathe the most, especially when two or more survivors are running it, and simply trading saves.
If you don't camp or tunnel BT never activates...amazing right?
-
Cool idea. I could see it being implemented fairly.

True, presenting these topics the wrong way only leads to more problems...but, I think OP has made their intentions clear enough. They even put OP in quotation marks.

OP suggests it's 'over powered', which generally means it's 'unhealthy' for the game since it's too strong hence why it's called 'over powered', it would just be 'powerful' if it was just strong and that's it. So normally, OP stuff are considered unhealthy by that logic, you following me? There's only very few cases where stuff are considered unhealthy without being OP, which is seen in Legions case on release. But normally, people find 'Over powered' stuff unhealthy.
You understand?
Yes I understand. Why tell me this?

'too strong' suggests it's overpowered that's why I was misled. But I don't get the fuss about these perks, so easy to play around DS and Adrenaline is basically NOED but for survivors, as a player who plays both sides, I find both perks fine, same with NOED, BBQ, STBFL and Pop goes the weasel. The community just complains about good perks... :/
There's a difference between OP and unhealthy. Not everyone complains about perks because they find them OP.

I guess we're going to just disagree on the definition of the word fact then.
You're not being griefed just because a killer killed you. Dying isn't the same as "being prevented from playing", you just lost.
Move on and stop thinking you're entitled to the killer playing the way you want them to.
My comment doesn't have the word killed in it. Please stop inserting context.
-
No survivor perk is overpowered, most can agree. But like you said, Adrenaline can seem really OP when the survivors toy with you and get 4 health states and sprint bursts at once at end game.
-
@Bovinity said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1250378#Comment_1250378
Except it's not a fact.
If "killer killed me" is "griefing" by your definition, then that really just goes to show why people use the word entitled to describe certain people.
Look at my comment without inserting context. It is a fact.
-
@Bovinity said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1250355#Comment_1250355
You are playing the game. Being on a hook is part of the game. It's not fun? Well, neither is holding M1 at a generator, or running the same loop 50 times as a killer sometimes.
Don't like it? Well, sorry, I can't help you there. It's not "griefing" just because you don't like it.
I didn't mean to imply anything. Just wanted to state a fact.
-
@Bovinity said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1250321#Comment_1250321
The killer killing you isn't "griefing".
Also, when I'm playing survivor, I'm fine with sitting on a hook while my team finishes everything because the killer can't stop staring at me. That's not "the most miserable experience", it's just amusing.
One more thing: If survivors would stop being so goddamn thirsty for unhooks, killers wouldn't seem to be "camping". Seriously, if you're going to follow the killer around like a lost puppy and constantly unhook people 2.3 seconds after they've been hooked, don't call it "camping" when they turn around and smack one of you.
(Seriously, that happens at least half of my games when I play killer, and then invariably the survivors whine that I "camped" or "tunneled". The hell do they expect me to do, just pretend I didn't notice the unhook that happened almost literally within my lunge range?)
The killer not allowing you to play the game is griefing.

@AvisDeene said:
Kindred counters camping, once hooked your teammates can watch the Killer and see if they leave.
Camping is also countered by learning the maps better and being good at looping the Killer. The longer you waste the Killers time, the more time your team has to rush the gens. It's your fault if you go down in 5 seconds.
You are not entitled to get an escape, nor are your teammates entitled to save you. It's obvious if the Killer is camping the basement, but most survivors flock to the hook like moths to the flame.
NoEd is countered by doing totems and counting to 5, Detectives Hunch, Small Game and Maps. You don't even have to cleanse all the totems, just remember where the totems are and cleanse it when one of them lights up.
If NoEd Procs and your team dies to a camping player in Endgame, that is totally on your team. They should have left you and escaped.
"Just use more perk slots 8head"
Yes, survivors can prevent themselves from going down early but they are always caught eventually. Using perk slots to get info swf has for free is flawed for obvious reasons. Survivors are not entitled to escape, but they should get a chance to do so. Doing totems isn't the only way to counter NOED.

Hard to say the bugs aren't there. Taking away peoples potential mains for an unknown length of time is kinda a BIG issue. I dislike this rose tinted glasses perspective where you just ignore all the faults of one of the least polished patches I've ever experienced. The bugs are part of the patch, disliking a patch because it's an unpolished untested trainwreck we were supposed to be excited about is an unhealthy viewpoint that only encourages this type of behaviour from the devs.
Why not encourage changes that make the game much better for both sides.

I can't imagine why anyone would be unhappy with the patch. Clearly a bait post right? Zzzz Clearly nothing to complain about anymore than getting stuck in objects frequently could be right?
It's only bugs, they come with any update to this game's spaghetti code.

On the contrary, I find this to be one of the more funny ones from his recent videos.
Because it's literally how I feel when talking to any Main (TM) users on this forum. So hearing someone else feel the same way I do, in a sarcastic tone is rather cathartic.
That's nice but for me my life has enough repetition. Nice to see Yerv is still a good content creator.

I will always complain about dbd if someone ask's me until they have change the bad things.
That said, I was never be a big part of nerf threads that have go towards survivors. The worst thing I have ever say in a "nerf thread" towards survivors are imo, that swf's have a advantage that killers and solo survs not have and I still think with that I was not wrong.
Personally I couldn't care less about survivor's strength, if not 2 things would be:
-The constant complains of survivor's towards killer/mechanics.
-Feeled endless nerfs for killers.
Both give you a really bad feeling inside your stomach.
The devs have make yet some patches were either killers got buffed, or at least they have created things that have a use for both sides, but that was not always the case and I ask me honestly how many patches bhvr will push out bevore they go back to their old behavior and start to nerf killers again.
And the second point is, even with all the changes the devs have made in the past, they still have not change what is personally for me important and until then you will see or hear me complaining if someone asks me in real life, or on a social platform about dbd.
I know, I have talk here a bit mysterious, but I also would not like to hijack this thread and fill it with other topics.
But at the end I can only say: Have survivor player really thought they can complain about certain killers, mechanics and perks without anger the playerbase of those certain killers/mechanics and/or perks?
You see we sit in the same boat, somehow.
I just like to see that they take one specific patch back, so that I can play my favorite killer and having fun on the same time. If they have done that, they can make the maps big as an football field, bring old mettle of man back, 2 quadro trillion pallets - if that is something what would make survivors happy, but until then, you will me not see smiling if I talk about dbd ;).
They give you a bad feeling because your opinion is biased. Jic you didn't know ;)

Before the update, the most common complaints (Except for right before and right after the Ruin Patch) were from Survivors crying about tunneling, camping, moris, and NoEd. Those complaints have flooded this forum even before the Ruin nerf.
Moris are the only legitimate complaint, I still don't know what the Devs were on when they thought it was a good idea.
Everything else they complain about can all be remedied by getting better at the game. They either don't want to or won't admit that they aren't skilled enough to.
Camping can be countered by learning the map layouts and mastering looping. If the Killer can't catch you, they can't camp you. You also have perks such as Borrowed Time and Decisive Strike that can be used with good teamwork. Barring Bubba, camping isn't an issue. It isn't the Killers fault if you're bad and can't prolong a chase for more than 5 seconds.
Tunneling can be countered by, once again, learning how to loop better. If you waste too much of the Killers time, you become a less desirable target. If the Killer wastes the match chasing you, you succeeded in letting your teammates win. Your teammates can also interfere by body blocking, giving you a chance to break the chase and sneak away. Decisive Strike can also help.
The game has always been Survivor sided. The reason why many are crying is because the Devs are finally balancing things to be fair for both sides and the Survivors don't want to adapt. They want to always have their DS ready for EGC so they can get EZ 4 escapes.
What did Survivors reply when Killer mains complained? Git Gud, Apply Pressure! Well, now Survivors can take their own advice.
Not being caught is not a good counter. If it was, Moris would never have been nerfed.

No, We complain that survivor use only half the stats and only analyse half of it. They often mention the kill rate of killers, ignoring that a a Kill can range from a looper god getting outplayed to an afk potatoes who died on first hook. And that not even mentioning the mori. Then they also ignore the fact that Nurse who a top tier got the second worst kill rate.
I think red rank having Ruin in 80% of red rank game and 45% of the entire player base games. I think we can safely assume it was the best option if around half the entire player base game had it. And the entire playerbase games counts the game with killer who did'nt even have the perk. Add to the fact Red rank killer, who got the most experiance, used it the most.
There a reason no one use dying light
Just because everyone uses Self Care doesn't mean it's good.

Hello, I registered here to comment, I fear this debate will lead to unnecessary changes to alter a mechanic 'as balance' which rather aptly depicts a trope in the Scream franchise - Ghostface knowing he's being watched in a sudden snap towards the victim(s) whilst they thinks they're hidden/concealed. It's the reason I bought Ghostface and all his respective cosmetics - he was thematically appropriate in design to his role in the films: he's awesome at pursuits and to surprise people with leaping out at unexpected corners from perks (Ears).

Why make a thread about something you don't care about. If there's no point don't make it. In order to understand it without much logical thought, you can think of it like crying wolf. Those who often cry wolf will be ignored when the wolves do finally arrive.

Saying Ruin wasn't the best slowdown option is like saying DS ain't the best anti tunnel option. No one gonna believe you.

The only problem with freddy are the dream snares.
Like have you ever heard someone complain about dream pallets? Dream pallets are never used because dream snares are way too good at distrupting loops. And that was in my opinion with the very very safe loops BEFORE last patch great. But now they are gone it is a good idea to nerf the slow down of the dream snares or reduce the amount of dream snares freddy can place.
This way dream pallets might be more attractive for people and not just a fun option.
And having easy to play killers is good for the game. So just because a killer is easy compared to other killers, it doesnt mean they need nerfs.
Having easy killers gives players false expectations, and makes time investment into the game feel less rewarding. I agree we need some easy killers, but Freddy and Spirit require close to no effort to get close to maximum reward.

''This wording doesn't indicate they only care about survivor fun, the wording is phrased this way because the change mostly affects the survivor''
They don't mention at all how it would affect the issue of gen rushing, the reason killer runned this perk in the first place. Also no the change don't ''Mostly affect survivor'' you gutted the best killer option to slow down the game. the only thing that changed for survivor is that now the perk is half as strong and that they don't have to deal with skillcheck anymore. Meanwhile Killer meta shifter cause they need to rework their whole build around the fact they need more weaker and gimmic slow down perk.
And no, im sorry, removing the skill check and regress speed was stupid. You don't like the fact you need to press space bar, it to hard for you? gen going to slow? Well it an hex, it the whole point of an Hex perk, if you don't want to deal with it you have to waste time cleaning that totems.
Now it ''fun'' for survivor, gen your working on can't be slower, No more hard skill check, but you can also stop other gen regress by cleansing totems
''Ruin was just a passive gen speed nerf for killers, not much experience to be had.''
Litteraly 80% of the game perks work in that way, most perk are just ''You get bonus and it work.''
Look at blood hound, it just a passive blood tracking perk for killing, Not much experience to be had.''
Look at Iron will, it just a noice regression passive for survivor, Not much experiece to be had''
Ruin wasn't the best slowdown option. It was a potato masher.
