Yes please. The number of times I've died on hook because my thumb just seized up for a split second due to the repetitive button pressing is way too high.
Hell even if it came in the form of a perk, something like:
Removes ability to take 4%, and removes the button spamming mechanic from the 2nd stage. In exchange you get random skill checks, and hitting a great skill check (in either hook state) grants you your 4%.
I'm for changing the second stage hook to skill checks, but keep the 4%. Making a hook jump a skill check means hook escapes are guaranteed because skill checks are not that difficult, especially at higher levels

I wonder if Feng opened it, but for some reason it being open didn't update on your client (the game server knew it was open, but your game client didn't), so when you panned the camera over it your game updated it and was suddenly like, "Oh yea, that's supposed to be open"

Ethernet 20 mbps. Has always been an issue. Once in awhile I will play a game and the experience is near perfect, it throws me off because I am so used to lag I miss skill checks because they actually stop when you hit the key instead of having to hit the key a second ahead.
So yea, that's going to be your issue most likely. With 20mbps being your max bandwidth you're probably only actually getting like 15mbps, possibly less at busy times. If anything else is connected to your router that's going to restrict DbD even more. Really you're going to want closer to 50mbps at least to alleviate your lag issues unfortunately...
-
Also when running, if you run past a survivor who's next to you, hit the attack button and it unlocks the turning restriction, so you can usually hit people who are at a 90* angle to you. As the Oni raises his weapon, then you would turn the camera
Learning this helped a ton because I know I don't have to run straight at survivors any more, I can be off by a little bit and still get hits

I would have thought Nurse would do well on Game being able to go between levels.
I'm sure people better than I am would be able to control that pretty well, but I have an issue sometimes where I'll aim ever so slightly up or down and suddenly be on a different floor, losing the chase
-
Nurse is a nightmare for me on indoor maps. It can be hard to blink just right so as not to land in a different room and cut yourself off, or in The Game's case, changing floors x.x
-
That's normal and intended. You were locked in an animation so the pallet stun didn't work. Stuns only work if you're in control of your character

"From what I've heard, From what I've seen" How about you not come up with an opinion until you've played on both consoles? Xbox Series X is able to play dbd at 120fps, Playstation only plays dbd ar 60. I own both consoles and can 100% say dbd plays better on Series X
I mean, I don't have the ability to afford both consoles you donut. I'm just going based off what I've seen on this forum being posted a lot. I sure haven't seen a lot of people saying how great it is on Xbox, mainly the issues. Are there issues on PS5? Yes, but it seems to be far less prevalent.
Just had an observation and made my opinion
-
Most of those looked early. You'll notice the flashlight blind effect happens right before the killer spins around, meaning they got "stunned" before they had control of their character again. Just like with pallets, if they're in the animation still they can't be stunned
-
Some of the flavor text for perks, items, etc. has curse words
-
If you read the description you'll notice that it's a community made outfit. BHVR doesn't charge auric cells for it because they technically didn't come up with the idea

If that’s the case then they should just make it so anything older than a specified time gets deleted or locked. Otherwise there’s no point in keeping them up.
But yeah, new threads on NOED and keys every half hour is waaaaayy better.
Didn't you know there's a quota that has to be met every week? Gotta have a certain number of NOED, DH, DS, and hatch threads, otherwise the whole forum will be deleted
-
What kind of internet speeds do you have? Are you using WiFi or Ethernet? Has this always been an issue or is this a new issue? Are there other devices connected to your internet as well?
So far what you're describing is 100% lag on your end.

Now Wraith is a hard one. They all seem to be pretty different. But one thing is for sure: you love ringing the bell. Even if there is no reason. Hey, I don't blame you. I've played him a few times, and it's crazy fun. You're a focused individual who enjoys winning, but can admit when you've lost. I appreciate that.
Pff, haha, yes, that is accurate

I think we're almost to this week's quota of "Nerf Dead Hard" posts already

Hey, at least he's not standing right in front of you banging his bell

Do Wraith? :)

I've only pretty much watched Ohm and True. I just can't watch Otz's streams, I don't care how good the guy is at the game, I just can't stand the sound of his voice for some reason.
Ohm is fun to watch, but I don't like how he's always using shortcuts when he plays (Keys and Moris) and he only seems to upload videos where he wins.
True is ok, but he thinks he's like the Michael Jordan of this game and he has a fragile ego. He always has his excuses ready as soon as he even so much as faces off against high ranked individuals that aren't potatoes. They chose this map cause they're not confident in their abilities. Killer's role is so much harder and takes longer (never a problem when he destroys potatoes), Oh he's blocking him because that guy is not good enough, I've caught up to him already. There's always an excuse, it's like the guy is so insecure and if you comment on it, oh you're a hater and you're just a toxic vampire that is trying to make him second guess himself. lol, ok dude.
Anyway, would appreciate some recommendations, thanks.
If you like Ohm watch his stream VODs. It's definitely true that he cherry-picks his YouTube videos, but his streams are far more varied and he uses "shortcut" items significantly less than you think.

You guys must be the one taking all of my corn then. I haven't seen corn in days

Because the End Game Collapse was on going this is not considered holding the game hostage as there is a definite end

I didn't want to know which console is better. I wanted to know which console is best played on dead by daylight.
From what I've heard, PS5 is better. Xbox seems to have a lot of frame and crashing issues from what I've seen on the forum.
I personally play on PS5 and it is silky smooth

The Shrine is random every week, excluding new perks for a set time (I don't remember it). If a perk goes into the Shrine it is then restricted from reappearing in the Shrine for at least 3 weeks, after which it is in the pool for randomly appearing again.
@swager21 said:
the perk is meta + its from a licensed character so obviously theyre not just gonna give it away.
Decisive Strike was just in the Shrine, and Inner Strength is in the Shrine right now, so this argument is invalid
@nursewannabe said:
I'm still waiting for surge to be put in the shrine. I'm not gonna buy demo for that, but surge is just too good
Surge was in the Shrine 2 weeks ago, so it's still restricted from showing again for another week at least, then you have to wait for RNG

Just think you are playing as Ghostface, Trapper. Trapper's trap will go to useless because all survivors will see where he is trapping. Ghostface cant stalk because other survivors will see where he is crouching. How fair? Killer's aura must go, that is all. That perk using because of coordinate for solo survivors. So it need to work for that.
If you put Ghostface in stealth mode then Kindred doesn't show his aura. Killers with the Undetectable status have their auras hidden.
Your main concern there is the person on the hook can reveal you.
If you -really- need to camp near the hook, Insidious will hide you because, as I said, Undetectable hides your aura
(Or you can play Wraith)

Entered a lobby as Michael Myers. Wasn't planning on using any addons or anything special, just a normal game. Notice there's a key. AND a map.
Welp, tombstone piece it is
-
I just mute my game

But he allowed for varied gameplay styles and he was a beast at defending gens much better than now, a massive TR Doctor was super fun to play, I reckon it could be a pain to deal with so he had to be changed.
Oh yea, old doctor was pretty fun to play with. Creating a giant terror radius to get that constant insanity build-up was suuuuuper oppressive though. Getting good at knowing when to switch stances was also fun and engaging

He watched two people kill themselves with reverse bear traps at the exit gates and found it hilarious. What the tome challenges have to do with it I have no idea, but he felt the need to make sure you knew he was doing those challenges as he watched these two people die
-
Clown is ever so slightly better at chases, but nothing can top the Doctor's tracking abilities.

Sweaty survivors , I slug. Normal, let the races begin! Of course depends on hatch placement. When it appears right next to your third hook you get to ask how you REALLY feel about #4
Getting to have that little power trip is why I like playing Killer sometimes, haha
-
Calm Spirit only prevents the character from screaming. It still shows auras and loud notifications from addons that do so
-
Depends. If I know the 4th person is nearby or I know where the hatch is I'll go investigate it to see if they're camping it.
If I don't know where they are or don't feel like dragging things out I'll go ahead and hook the 3rd person and go from there

From what I've been told? Yes. But I'm hearing contradictory statements since opening this thread, so hell if I know anymore.
She has a longer range base attack, but a shorter lunge. This is the case whether she blinks or not. This is done so that the lunge range boost she gets from her post-blink speed is balanced.
So in other words that makes her even more reliant on her blinks because she can't lunge as far as any other killer
-
Ohmwrecker is a good choice as well. Always has fun, makes up stories about what's going on in the game, plays both sides, and is actually quite skilled
-
That it's not that big of a deal. I can imagine "abnormal activity" would be like your rank or amount of credits you have suddenly changing or small stuff like that.
You personal information (financial stuff) isn't stored with BHVR's servers anyways. That's a platform thing
-
Yea, if you watch the portraits it's easier to tell. It pops clean, then instantly turns injured again

Yea man! If you need any more help or advice let me know! That applies to anyone reading this; I don't mind if someone wants to reach out and ask for something.
-
Big popup that covers your entire screen that you have to acknowledge and people still can't seem to realize the MMR was going on? Not sure how much more obvious to make it, haha
(Plus the test should be over by now anyways)
-
@yogi42 said:
but legit i dont like camping and when i go for an unhook i go for the unhooker cause it makes the game longer and more fun
yeah i get called toxic?
Toxic really doesn't mean anything in this game. It's a token word that people like to throw around that's lost all meaning by this point.
You don't know these people, they don't know you. You're never going to meet them. Why be bothered by them at all? They're just mashing their keyboard to yell at pixels on a screen.
But yea, finish the game, nod your head, and go to the next one. The only person on this game that can really make you upset is yourself, you know?
-
I mean, none of that really bothers me. It's a game and I treat it as such. I actually like it when people t-bag because that's distance they could've been taking that they are just wasting standing still.
If people body block that's just free hits. If it's excessive I just drop the survivor I'm carrying and chase some more. It's better to get more hits in than to be stunned by a wiggle-escape.
Flashlights usually only get me the first time. After that I make sure to check the area before I pick someone up and am pretty aggressive about getting people away from my prize.
If a chase is going too long (20 seconds or more), I'll consider dropping the chase. Or I'll try and get that one hit in and then drop to pressure gens. Keeping people off gens is your goal. The hits and downs will come to you.
Overall I just take it as is. If I lose, I lose. My goal every game is 2 kills. If I get 4, awesome! But keeping my goal at 2 makes it so I don't get worked up by "missing" the goal of 4k. Reframing a lot of these "negative" interactions in your mind will dramatically improve your time playing, trust me. Learn to enjoy the "toxic" behavior.
And if I'm just having that bad of a streak I turn the game off and play/do something else. Knowing when to stop and just step away is something a lot of people on here don't seem to understand, and that's kinda baffling to me
-
@Kirkylad said:
They won't disclose that in case it is abused by people to go against lower skilled players.
@Moundshroud said:
Nobody knows; they won't us how it works.
And it's a good thing people don't know how it works. If they did they'd be able to manipulate it just like some people do with the pip system (ie purposely de-pipping to get easier games)
I would just play the game and not worry about ranks. Ranks hardly matter anyways
-
I noticed it took significantly longer to get into a game (even as a Killer it took a while), but the games I did get into were really nicely balanced. I'm sure the wait times will get better as more data is fed into the system, but hey, it's a promising start
-
The more you play the more refined it should get. Just like the regular monthly reset your matches are going to be wonky for a bit. Just keep playing and don't worry about it so much
Plus, as Weck said, your ranking is separate for each killer
-
Ghostface is stronger, but Myers is more fun to play
-
Huh?
-
Noed. Unless your team is really bad it only gets you maybe 1 extra kill, if any at all
-
Yea, there's still quite a few places that block Killers on different maps. They are hopefully being worked on still
That Bill, did he end up disconnecting? With the way he stopped moving I think he disconnected or lagged out

Huh did they? I just got back into dbd. Before you could just straight up go for kills with ebony right out if the gate lol
Yea, you've been out of the loop for a long time then, haha. I started playing in 2018 and Moris have always had a 1 hook requirement as far as I was aware. I think 2 months ago is when they changed it to 2 hooks
-
@IWasLeft2Die said:
I think moris do need a buff but this isn't what I'd want. I think the worst mori offering should be base while the others get down to 1 hook requirement over 2. Ebony being basekit I don't think would honestly change a whole lot. It's not that good but I'd want moris to be much more useful aside from this
Moris already had a one hook requirement before this recent nerf, so I'm sure they aren't going back to that
