@onemind similar with pig traps in that perks don't work on them yeah, but skill checks on piggy's traps don't decrease in size whereas these will. And you will definitely get skill checks on these.

They asked if the skill checks are going to pop as frequently as searching a Jigsaw box does. Otherwise being on the hook could be slow and boring as the "tension" of struggling on the hook is no longer there

  • I think it just starting censoring everything because you were trying to get around the filter and it noticed that

  • This is the new Freddy nerf, haven't you heard?

  • @Yords said:

    *Goes to scratch my face

    *gets a skillcheck and dies

    But in all seriousness, finally.

They've said that missing a skill check won't equal instant death, it just takes a chunk out of the progress bar.

    @Moxie said:

As a veteran player, I am fine with this.

This will disproportionately affect new players that struggle with skill checks though.

Not sure how it would work with "giving up" (Ex: For last survivor to get hatch, etc.).

Is there any word on this @MandyTalk ? I know there's situations where suiciding can be beneficial to other players. Will we be stuck on the hook waiting for skill checks or can we force the progress faster?

  • When a gen is blocked all progress on it is halted, including regression caused by Ruin. It will still have Ruin applied to it, but it won't regress until the gen is unblocked again. Repressed Alliance is actually a counter to Ruin because of that

  • PS4 Pro and PS5 player here, both run excellent. There's been an occasional post about PS5s having frame issues, but most of the complaints are from Xbox players.

And hey, $500 on a PC would have just as many frame problems if not more.

    What bug?

  • Dang, you zoomin

  • Are you sure? Breakdown keeps hooks broken for 3 minutes instead of the normal 30 seconds.

  • Camping really does suck gameplay-wise, but it's understandable for sure. But it's also gratifying as hell when you can manage to pull of a successful rescue from a camping killer. Those are the moments I play for sometimes

Had a Wraith face camping someone to the point where they weren't even looking around. Came up behind him and starting poking him and my friend came around the other side in front of the killer and taunted them. They started chasing them just a bit which gave me the opportunity to make the save. Wraith turned around, I took the hit, and we all escaped :P

  • I have an old recording on my PS4 of a pretty funny visual glitch in which the character models would randomly become HUGE. Like, taking over the entire map huge.

In the recording I have my character is the one who turned huge and I can't really tell where I'm going and end up getting downed. The killer picks me up and I go back to normal, but then my sister's character suddenly turns huge and I can see her on the other side of them map. It's pretty funny and I'll have to see about uploading it at some point

No amount of Red Bull is going to help you detect the Ghostface on the other side of the wall.

    No, but headphones will

  • @I_am_Negan said:

Never used spine chill I don't need it.

Keep you eyes open move you camera when your on a gen.

Don't sit on the side of a gen where the killer can easily pull you off.

Know your surroundings and your path to escape.

Same. I play with headphones as well, so even if it's a stealth killer I can usually hear them coming (Wraith snarls, Michael breathing, Ghostface cloth wooshes, etc). Managing your gen position is key as well. I think the only time Spine Chill would be super helpful is against a Tier 1 Michael with a scratched mirror. Otherwise there's much more useful perks out there

  • It's even funnier when they've been sacrificed already and as the entity is coming down to grab them then they disconnect. Like... why?

  • Because the Rancor mori only activates after the last gen has been completed. Closing the hatch won't activate it

  • @Phasmamain said:

Trying to stay on topic here but how exactly would they even play test a killer?

RNG players such a big part in a match’s outcome that getting consistent results with any killer is difficult.

If only there was something they could use to test with the public. A way to Publicly Test a Build of the game with other players of varying skills...

    The hell happened here

  • 99% the doors and it's an easily counterable perk.

  • It has such a small tell as well that I don't even notice it being used most times. It's such an underwhelming power

  • Fixated is my new favorite perk that I try and always run. It's so nice being able to zoom across the map without having to leave scratch marks everywhere and quickly changing cover with the killer nearby it so much easier as well

I disagree. Dbd's community isn't tame. It's filled with rotten apples.

I played a lot of Dota 2 and the insults were more focussed on the role that someone was playing. "idiot carry, deinstall pls"

Dbd's insults are more on a personal level, like get cancer or that I should suicide or insults that have to do with your nationality.

Yea, this. Most online games I've played if there's insults it's usually game related (You suck at aiming, Why didn't you kill this person, etc). DbD is a whole different kind of hateful and it's insane. And that's one of the biggest differences right there; Most games are frustration insults, this game is just spiteful hate

Not impossible, but certainly shouldn't be that often

  • It's not impossible to find high rarity items in chests without perks, so maybe you've just been super lucky? Are they chests you're opening and is it all of them? Or is someone with Plunder's Instinct maybe opening chests?

  • Don't let a certain mod see this post. He's been kinda snappy lately about this issue .-.

    PC, Steam.

Ever since the patch went live, my game has been displaying in 15-20 fps. After all the normal troubleshooting I found it was due to my odd way of playing the game. I use a gamepad in my left hand (The joystick is superior to WASD) and the mouse in my right hand (superior over joystick camera movement)

Using only keyboard and mouse the game runs fine, using only gamepad the game runs fine.

Trying to use both? The game chugs under 20 frames. This only started happing today after the update.

Below is a video showing the issue

I understand this is a specific issue, and definitely shouldn't be a priority over game breaking bugs (Like the Spirit Fury Bug right now) But this issue does make the game difficult for me and my condition.

    https://imgur.com/6mgVZqA

Watching the vid it looks like the issue is the game is trying to prioritize which input to use. You'll notice the prompt in the bottom center keeps changing from controller to keyboard super quickly

  • Have you checked behind yourself recently? ;)

  • You can still get tunneled out even with DS equipped. DS is not this god-tier perk that will guarantee your survival, so making it "base-kit" won't fix things. If a killer wants to tunnel you out, they will tunnel you out; there's really nothing you can do but learn maps, how to loop, and how to evade the killer.

  • From what I've been seeing you have to let the point animation fully play out to count. Moving and canceling it won't let it count towards progress

  • @Tsulan said:

Does the LORGE code work? How many points does it give? Never heard of it.

100,000 blood points. It was announced on their Twitter last night for hitting 600k followers

The dude directly insulted the devs with the title of the thread, criticism is okay, but the devs are people too and directly insulting them is against the rules.

Also the forum mods don't just hand out bans, there are usually warnings and getting jailed that happen first.

Tl;dr: Nobody is suppressing negative feedback, just don't be rude.

I'm not sure how asking a question is considered an insult?

  • The patch is being released an hour before the actual DLC is becoming available

  • @Kebek said:

No new changes besides those already announced. 1 single buff to trickster we already knew about = his blades don't decrease during main event, other than that, it's all QoL changes that don't affect his power level.

Hopefully we'll see him get something in hotfixes at latest during mid-chapter otherwise he'll very likely be the most mediocre killer added since probably Demogorgon or even Legion.

Other than trickster, I welcome the perk changes and wraith / blight changes. Overall good update with very underwhelming DLC at release.

The blades not decreasing isn't even really a buff, it was a bug. It was always intended to be infinite blades

  • I have maybe 800k saved up? All of which I gained yesterday morning (playing for like 3 hours. Was genuinely surprised how easy it is to gain bloodpoints)

  • @celesteismore said:

Would they die for real though when they get moried?

Nah, same deal. The Entity revives them. If you read the flavor text of the mories you'll notice that the Entity is granting a boon to the killer. The Entity won't get as much from a survivor getting moried, but keeping the Killers sated makes them more willing to work

  • Technically they are not dead. They've been abducted into the Entity's realm and the forced to participate in trials. The Entity feeds off of strong emotions, meaning it feeds off the hate and bloodlust of the Killers, and the fear/hope of the survivors. When a survivor is sacrificed they are indeed killed, but the Entity has the ability to revive them, so it does and then supposedly wipes their memories of the death. The ghostly appearance of the survivor as they are taken away by the Entity is what is consumed, being "fattened up" with emotion gained from the trail. In the process however a piece of the survivor's soul is lost, and eventually when the survivor is completely devoid of hope and emotion they are tossed aside into what's referred to as the Void, where they stay in limbo forever.

All Xbox families should be matched together with crossplay off, but at least Xbox Series X doesn't.

All Play Station families should be matched together with crossplay off, but at least PS5 doesn't.

Atm you're forced to activate crossplay on Series X and PS5 because the playerbase is so little.

I thought PSN was the same whether you're on PS4 or PS5? I'm on PS5 and I've played with PS4 players and they don't have the globe icon next to their name.

idk im joining survivor faster now but killer ? I could wait ages to join in a game ... what for?

i did join a game but it gave me the disconnected message even tho we didnt start up the match and the ping was fine or some....

is it because there are low games on non crossplay sessions or what ?

Significantly fewer games for sure. You're not only restricting the pool of players to your own platform, but it also restricts it to other players that have cross-play off as well

  • @UnentitledBunnyMan said:

Does deathslinger has auto aim on console like on GTA5? Or u have to use your controller to actually aim? I never used controller to play FPS except GTA5 and I can't imagine how to aim without autoaim

You have to fully aim him yourself. There's no auto-aim (GTA5) or aim-assist (CoD. It doesn't lock onto enemies, but kinda "drags" across them)

The way I do it is a place the survivor in the center of my screen normally, bring my gun up, and as soon as I'm able to I fire. I don't try and aim with the gun itself because it accelerates weird and throws me off, so I go for snap-shots and can hit them fairly regularly

Swap melee with crouching. That helps alot in COD.

What's funny is I haven't played CoD in years. But nah, I like keeping my melee on the stick because my thumb is there already from aiming, so it's much faster than having to move my thumb to the crouch button to melee. I also don't do drop-shots, and I know most people do, so I've gotten used to aiming at people's legs, haha

  • @Phasmamain said:

Yeah a 2k is an average match but usually in terms of points you actually lose. It’s weird

Yea, I do think the rewards need to match the penalties, if that makes sense. People here are jumping thinking that "2 kills should = 4 kills" which is not the argument being made. 4 kills should definitely be rewarded more as you accomplished all of your goals and then some, but 2 kills shouldn't be punished the way it is.

  • People who get mad enough to break $60+ controllers are wild

I do like the ones that will drop me a few feet from the Hatch and then stand there. Like...I've played this game a few times dude, I'm not going to crawl to the hatch for you to shut it in my face because being an ass is the closest thing to happiness you can achieve. We'll both sit here and waste our time until you either get bored or I die.

I mean, if I do the hatch thing it's because I'm at least going to give them a mori. Waiting until they bleed out though isn't fun

  • Ah, ok, I didn't see the part about it being a perk. Maybe it being a skill check would work in that case then
