I THUOGHT I WAS JUST CRAZY. PLEASE FIX THIS!
Sadly I don't think anything is ever going to be done about it.
Which is a shame because the Day of the Dead used to be my favourite cosmetic for Frank until it got changed I mean at least I could look forward to NSS Frank.

As it's been said several times survive with friends groups with make of this killer completely pointless.
If the community manages to come up with a consensus solo players could start doing something like a double teabag and point to prove that person is safe if the person doesn't respond with a similar gesture get the hell away from them.
Also perks like bonds would also destroy the hell out of this killer if someone starts walking up to you but you can't see them with bonds. RUN
It's a fun concept but there's way too much natural hard counterplay to make the killer in anyway shape or form viable

I don’t see why they would. It’s not like it gave an advantage (literally the exact opposite). So people who wore them knew they would be seen more which was kinda the point.
Maybe there was a color blind issue? Doubt it though because no one has complained about it.
Apparently it was a bug.
Which conflicts with the actual cosmetic banner showing that that's how it was meant to look.
However if it was genuinely a bug a lot of people really liked the bright glowing effect and brought the cosmetic because of that. I wouldn't mind if it was changed the next update or hotfix from when they're cosmetic was released but it was in the game for months before it got fixed.
Which meant the Bright blue glowing aspect of it was the unique selling point of the cosmetic so getting rid of it doesn't feel right bug or not. I do at least hope they read this thread and revert the change.

It is a new poster of new (5th) Tome. And we get 3 familiar faces here (the Hillbilly, the Blight & Nea) and new one (I think that he's a guy from the archives aka Benedict Baker). In the previouses 4 tomes we had only 4 characters from the game except 1st (we have 2 of em).
Also devs said that they have a big suprise for us. Looks like it's true.
What do you think?
The guy from the archives isn't Baker

Shattered bloodlines was pretty hyped hell it had everyone going on a wild goose chases trying to find specific things in the game that would hints towards what the chapter would be.
There was the people thinking it was split mouth woman.
They were the people thinking it was a samurai.
I don't think any chapter got so many community interactions and theories going.
Descend beyond will probably be a close second as the blight had been hyped up for two years at this point.
The 2019 archives tome for The Alchemist only typed people up even more even though for some reason everybody thought it was Vigo with next to no proof ( but I digress)
The other thing I could remember getting a lot of hype around it was probably Darkness Among Us.
Everybody forward because of the teaser picture that it was going to be a split personality killer ( because of the names and tallies of the respective Legion members)
Some thought it was going to be a mask swapping killer changed forms or powers depending on the mask ( because of the masks reflected in the mirror)
Then the trailer made it seem like it was going to be a camouflaged killer that look like a survivor until they striked.
Even though every one of these theories turned out to be false it was still a lot of hype. ( controversial opinion I think the idea of a group of Killers all working under the same name is a lot more interesting than the theories. So I'm happy that we got)
These are what I consider the top 3 hyped chapters if I'd have to rank them
I'd say shattered bloodlines is the most hyped purely based on just how much community interaction it got.
Then descend beyond for being built up for 2 years
Lastly Darkness Among Us
As for the one that had the least type I would probably say the demise of the faithful.
The teaser image was pretty much forgettable
The trailer was probably the worst trailer Dead by daylight has done
Overall by the time she hit the ptb a few people ( including myself and I'm pretty much a lore head when it comes to dead by daylight) had even forgot that they hinted to a killer in the first place.

Yeah, why change it? I don't understand. If it looked that way from the get go then everyone knew what they were getting when they purchased it, and were happy to own it. What reason to change it.
Edit: Did Jane's and David's glow too? Cause if they didn't, then it probably was a mistake. But even if it was, people were happy to purchase Legion for the glowing effect and it wasn't hurting anyone to have it...
I don't actually have the Jane cosmetic but luckily I do snapshot every ghostface selfie I take

Sorry to bother you guys this is probably not your top priority or even of interest to you but I was wondering is there any plans on reverting this change and if not could you at least put it forward for a discussion about reverting it.
Even though it might come across as a bit pessimistic I don't think this change was done to intentionally screw people over maybe it was just an oversight or something but still an answer about the problem would really be appreciated.

PATCH NOTES 4.0.2 | HOTFIX
If you want to check it out for yourself
The problem is that you can't really call that a bug when your promotional banner showed that that's how it was meant to look and anybody who saw a Legion using a cosmetic and decided to buy it because of the glow was also screwed over. Keep in mind this "bug" was in the game of for months.
The cosmetic was released around November the 2nd 2019 if I remember correctly.
Was apparently "fixed" around July the 2nd 2020

Nurse requires a lot of mechanical skill to play she's not something that people could just pick up very easily.
Spirit and deathslinger do take a skill but they have a much lower a skill floor meaning as long as you become accustomed to their basics you could pretty much do good with them. Even knowing the basics of the nurse you could still very easily be bullied.
Also when it comes to misplays the nurse is also very heavily punished you mess up as nurse and you're punished and it's not exactly like you could just the makeup by becoming an M1 killer because of how slow you are.
Because of this high skill high reward with big punishments for screw ups as a survivor it feels really rewarding when you outplay her
She has a lot of cues that can give you information what she's going to do.
For example while have to be quick about it you can tell when she's going to blink and roughly estimate the distance based on her hand position and how long she's been charging.
This gives you information whether it's a good idea to dodge in a certain area or two double back.
Deathslinger and spirit normally get called out because there's not much you could do to react to them you can't see spirit for the most part and deathslinger can shoot you so quickly you don't have time to react

When discussing Undying and ruin a very annoying thing I tend to notice is that a lot of people will always bring up worst case scenarios when trying to talk about it balance.
Which again is pretty flawed logic when you're talking about a gamble perk like Undying. If people have frequently Undying with any hex perk combination (it doesn't have to be ruin) I'm sure you've had multiple times where Undying gets cleansed first.
And I'm sure as survivors you've had times where you've had to cleanse ruin 4 or so times just to get rid of it.
Yes when we talk about the worst case scenario we're going to to run into situations where the Perk seems a bit overpowered.
I've stated this on several posts but if they have to change Undying the only thing it needs is to have the Aura ability probably switched to Thrill of the hunt that is it. (I love you to death Otz but your suggestion for it is terrible) That's only a "IF" they have to change it which personally opinion I don't think they do.

You have just described how to win against every killer in the game without exception.
Not exactly certain Killers will really punish you for not healing.
Oni being a key example not healing against him give him way easier access to his snowball potential. However if everybody keeps themselves healed only has to work for his power.
Spirit also hit this category ( Yamaokas really punish you for not healing) being injured makes it easier for her to track and pinpoint your location whilst you're unable to see hers.
I know it's somewhat lessened if you have iron will however if you're going to make that argument you could also talk about the spirit having stridor then we'll be here all day.
Stealth Killers ( sadly with the exception of Amanda) also gain massive advantages if you decide not to heal as they excel at getting the first hit so can usually sneak up on injured survivors and in that case the first hit is a down.
I mention Amanda as being exempt simply because her crouching makes her move slower than nurse so it's not efficient to stay in crouched for too long whilst the other stealth Killers can keep there stealth properties constant without any severe map pressure penalties
Legion and Plague order to Killers who not healing against is of the utmost importance. Whilst focusing on gens and not healing can benefit you against other Killers ( with the exceptions of the ones I mentioned above) it really hits these two Killers harder than most.
When people say not healing is Plague and Legions biggest weakness it's not because the not healed meta is strong but it's because they benefit greatly when people end up healing. But I pretty much forced into being M1 Killers when people don't heal
-
While yes tutorial does mention a lot of these things it's not exactly the best tutorial in the world.
At someone stated previously in this thread they really need to implement a practice mode ( no kill your friends does not count)
It has to be a practice mode you could do solo and learn the survivor basics and how to use killer powers.
For survivors
Skill check practice
Loop practice with a pretty basic bot
Possible stealth practice.
For Killers a practice session for each power.
For example you can program some survival bots to run around an area so you can practice huntress hatchets.
Or a mini terrain course to practice of blight bouncing
Granted some powers are not going to be practice friendly Trapper Wraith plague but still
These practice sessions could also be used to help people get a feel for a killer and see if they want to actually purchase it or not

Anti momentum perks are fine, for both. But they NEED some effort to make them work. DS reguires literally nothing other than get hooked (failing) here get this free 60 second immunity. It's badly designed perk, just like NOED currently is. People advocating that DS is balanced are obviously biased. Most killer stalling perks require you to do something, because passively they do nothing. The perk you disliked so much tinkerer does nothing if killer doesn't act on it, there are multiple limitations unlike DS has. So i hope they rework perks like Noed, DS, OoO in the future
You my friend are trying to convince a brick wall they're not going to change their bias stance

What stops a wraith from hiding, watching, and waiting for you to touch a gen and then tunnel? You want survivor to not touch a gen for 60 seconds? I am not allowed to work on the objective but you can? Sounds like a horrible balance idea. Survivors aren't supposed to be totally defenseless.
You know I find it hilariously ironic that you accuse me of coming up with situations to justify complaining yet right now you're coming up with situations to justify you're flawed logic.
Someone can't to make a point about how abusable decisive strike is without you jumping down their throat and saying that they're making up situations to justify complaining.
However you're perfectly fine to complain about things like the ruin and Undying combo or you're perfectly fine to make up situations to justify your own logic when it comes to someone's argument.
Honestly I originally put this post up to actually have some discussions and talk about what people thought about these suggested changes however if you're going to be so hypocritically biased and narrow-minded I'm not wasting my time I'm engaging with you further.
-
Survivor-
Overrated- sprint burst
So many people rely on the walk until the killer gets close then run strategy and most of the time Killers are usually just going to leave you the hell alone if you do that.
Also due to its overuse of getting you out of situations it tends to teach people bad habits of not properly optimising their distancing and positioning because they're so used to sprint burst just getting them out of situations where they would have messed up.
Underrated- Technician ( keep in mind I think the upcoming changes to bed and isn't going to do anything)
I think this perk secondary effect of making the repair sounds quieter is the best thing ever so good for stealth gen builds.
Killers
Overrated- BBQ
It's only worth it if you need blood points not much else
Underrated- I'm all ears

That doesn't matter because you are still able to stop the objective from being completed because a perk punished the other side for doing it. A fast killer will always be able to get there. How is that fair? Imagine if DS could be used "multiple times" to stop your objective regardless of being tunneled. That's the power of tinkerer.
DS is only a one time use. Tinkerer has no way to turn it off and can be used multiple times. Totally unfair.
If you suspect DS, why aren't you hitting them instead of grabbing them? Killers love to invent these scenarios that try to portray a perk as being too strong when in fact you are using the fully meta loadout that is oppressive.
When a generator is close to being completed and a healthy survivor is on it I usually don't have the luxury of just giving them two smacks.
If I hit them what usually happens is they just end up completing the generator whilst I'm recovering from that hit.
Let me put it to you in a very basically if you are comfortable enough to go on a gen or a totem and just casually sit there you are not being tunnelled so you have no need to have the decisive strike time as still going.
If you think you're at risk of the killer immediately coming back and tunneling you don't get on a generator
Also if you're going to try to bring up the US vs them mentality you can't really whine about creating situations when you were complaining about the undying and ruin combo.

I never said the survivor was working next to the hook they were just unhooked from. I said killers go back to track the survivor and will go out of their way to tunnel them out. Including but not limited to breaking a chase, even tho they didn’t have to.
Also, DS isn’t strictly anti tunnel so why the hell are we even arguing the timer? You play around it, if you know someone just got unhooked.
Here is an idea go chase someone else instead of nitpicking every little scenario in which DS could be used... I mean after all you have unlimited slug, unlimited camping capabilities.... but we don’t have to discuss how that in itself is broken do we?
Until then DS is fine as it is.
It has been described as an anti tunneling perk by most of the developers.
After repeatedly stating it's an anti tunnelling perk they can't really switch the narrative now

Explain Tinkerer.
Punishes the survivor for doing the objective and rewards killer for doing nothing. Killers tend to play a certain way with their perks but that is completely OK right?
1) It goes off on a generator is getting close to being completed.
2) the killer is not always going to be in a good position to take advantage of it.
3) even then it can still be countered by the survivors using their eyes
4) the killer can only deal with one thing at a time meaning if two tinkerer notifications go off the killer could not deal with both
If someone gets off a hook and decides to complete a generator that is right by the hook that is for example say at 90% The Killers left in an awkward situation if they try to pull that Survivor off the generator they get hit with decisive strike.
If the survivor didn't have decisive strike they probably wouldn't have made such a bad and risky play to begin with.
Decisive strike is not comparable to tinkerer
-
@Johnny_XMan said:
Just because you begin to do an objective while having DS doesn’t mean the killer can’t come back and tunnel you.
This is why the timer remains after being unhooked. I have literally seen killers break a chase just to take out the person who was just unhooked. So the idea that one could simply touch another body while healing or a gen or totem and it deactivates is not fair when the killer can just play around that.
We don’t give camping/tunneling those limitations now do we?
I'm sorry but if you recently get unhooked and your first decision is to work the generator that is literally right by the hook you can't exactly shocked Pikachu face when if the killer comes back they go after you.
Here's an idea after getting unhooked how about you make sure you're safe before you just go off and do objectives.
If you feel like The Killers going to come back don't touch an objective or heal someone try to leave the area just in case they starts tunneling you. This way you make it harder for you to get to tunneled and you also have ds strike just in case the killer still finds you.
You shouldn't reward bad play styles with immunity. The problem with decisive strike is that people tend to use it to play a certain way that would often get them killed if they did that without the protection

Nerf survivor perk more
Nerf killer perks less
Wow, I wonder what role you enjoy playing.
I play both.
However I would kindly ask that you don't try to derail what I was saying by adding an us vs them mentality to it.
I have no problem with making borrowed time balanced so Freddy can't abusive negate it.
I'm down for moris not being a super powerful as they always are.
I even think his add on proposals are I think a lot of things in the Patch proposed are good however just because I don't agree with certain things doesn't mean I'm trying to pick a side.
If you actually bothered to read what I wrote instead of jumping on the US vs them mentality. You would understand and that I never once really suggested a buff for any of the killer perks.
My point about DS was that his proposed changes doesn't address the abusable aspects of the Perk
My point about no one escapes death was that you can't add more conditions and restrictions whilst also weakening the perk. either scale according to it's conditions or find a more balanced condition to replace its current one. this is literally me stating the change needs to be applied differently
My point for undying was that the only change it needed was to remove the Aura reading and instead added to Thrill of the hunt. This is literally suggesting a nerf for a killer perk
Somehow you read that as nerf survivor perks and buff killer perks
-
For original characters
Spirit killed by her father
Oni- Killed by villagers
Hag- Killed by cannibals ( you could argue she transformed before death so technically not dying but I'm still going to add her)
Licensed
Freddy - Killed by vengeful parents
Amanda - Murdered by Jeff (no not that one)

The only thing that can counter that a little bit is distortion. Honestly that perk needs a buff since killers run BBQ with hex undying which makes hex ruin the pain in the ass before they reworked it all over again! Hex Undying needs a nerf!
You do know what Undying is a gamble perk right.
I have tested Undying out with different hexes and no matter what hexess I tested with the main problem of if Undying gets destroyed first you lose it.
I have had Undying be destroyed first and then ruin leaving me with legitimately just two perks.
I've had Undying get taken out first when I was running it with haunted grounds basically destroying the whole plan of my build.
I don't think a gamble perk needs enough especially when it's a hex perk you know perks that are meant to be really powerful in return for the fact that they can be destroyed
-
@Slickstyles said:
I really hate the concept of deactivating perks and I don't really think it's healthy for the game. This would refer to both DS and NOED. Personally I would remove 15 seconds from all DS timers each time another survivor is hooked.
For Noed, I dislike it being a totem perk and I would change it to be a solid 2 minutes of activation when all gens are done. I would like to implement a token system for Noed to encourage killers to actually do the objective instead of sitting there and waiting for Noed to proc.
We could do 3 hooks gives you a 4% movement speed and 5 hooks makes all survivors exposed. These effects last for 2 minutes after all gens are done.
It used to be 2min and not a hex but survivor just went immersed for 2mins making the perk useless unless you were already chasing someone
-
This is a long time ago.
When the Pig first came out if I ever managed to finish a match before hach spawned.
I would down the last survivor and put a reverse bear trap on their head then I would make them complete one gen activated and another gen to eat up some of the time.
I don't let them get back up and told them they had however long was left on the timer to find hatch if they managed to do so they were free to jump into it but if they didn't they died.
If they died I sent them the sound clip on Xbox messages from Saw 2 of Amanda saying "Game Over" to Eric Matthews.
If they managed to live and find hatch I sent them "Amanda's congratulations" message from Saw 1
Honestly I got the best reactions from doing this and I met some pretty decent saw fans as well. Hell one person even told me I won the internet which was great.
Even the people who died found it really fun and had a good time.
I am pretty sad though considering it was 2 years ago Xbox nuked to my messages because I really wanted to share some of them

Maybe someone already pointed this out but the point of his patch isn't long term solutions, it's stuff that could potentially be done very quickly within a week/month so that actual changes are made. He's not looking to implement the "ultimate balance fix patch everything!" it's something that seems reasonable to the developers to do with the least amount of time and effort so that SOMETHING can change considering how long balance changes take to be implemented. He's repeatedly pointed out he'd prefer to completely rework DS on streams but at the moment he's looking at the best solution that could be done quickly without changing everything (change one thing impacts something else). I think most of the changes when looked through that perspective are pretty reasonable, disagree with his assessment on Undying to a certain degree though I know Solo Q players have a hard time with totems that's a problem with the game itself.
That is true however the problem is changes like the undying one and no one escapes death one seem way more like long-term changes than anything else.
The Undying suggestion makes a gamble insurance perk even more of a gamble and far less reliable which is not good for balance.
The Noed perk suggestion takes a perk that is already conditional and add even more conditions and restrictions on to it whilst also weakening the power it holds.
A better change would be to make it less conditional and more something you earn.
Or if you're going to add more conditions to it boost the power significantly to make up for it
The suggested change pretty much weakens it and makes it more conditional which again is really bad for balance

@Withered said:
These are sort of my issues with it. I don't think DS should Deactivate upon touching a generator or healing or anything. Instead, as long as you are doing that action, the timer should tick down twice as fast. That way, if a killer from across the map runs back to the survivor, it if they want to stop a gen from regressing, they aren't punished.
His Noed is way too weak to be a hex perk. Either remove hex from its title, or make it significantly stronger than what he suggested.
Undying I'd say is too new to make a solid decision on, one way or the other. Its like devour, sometimes it's super useful, other times, it's cleansed in the first three seconds. Ruin is annoying, yes. But it doesn't make the game unplayable without it. Undying properly deals with all totems that have a great impact on gameplay, ie devour, lullaby, etc.
While I agree with your assessment I feel like if you just got off hook working on a generator that is legitimately right by the hook you just escaped from is a really bad idea.
It's pretty much asking for the killer to go after you if they ever happened to come back.
It might seem weird to say but if there's any possibility of tunneling in your mind, you should probably make sure you clear the area. Staying behind to do an objective something the killer is clearly going to the stop you from doing is never a smart idea unless that generator is about to pop

I am one of those survivors who wait at gate, because I am trying to get the killer to hit me so they get points
While I can understand that there's a large amount of time where the killer doesn't want any extra bonus points and just wants the match to end.
Especially when they've already lost they don't really feel like a walking to an exit gate just to see people butt dance

@unluckycombo said:
I can agree with DS being deactivated for End Game. However, I do think there needs to be a little more for the rest. I'm okay with survivors losing DS if they tap a gen or finish an action, such as healing another teammate or cleansing a totem. (Granted, I do think that it's kinda dumb that a Survivor can just tap a gen during chase to stop regression when a killer has to stop and do an animation for it when not runninh Ruin, but that's another discussion.)
However, I think DS shouldn't necessarily be disabled from hopping into a locker. For example, if a Survivor is running Q&Q and hop into a locker in order to get off a Head-On stun because that's the exhaustion perk they're running and they're trying to make more distance, then I don't think they should lose DS just from doing that. However, if they get grabbed from a locker, they should lose it imho.
As for a heal taking away DS, I think it should be situational. For example, I can get the argument of something like red insta heal taking away DS, even if I don't agree with it- however, if you heal up mid-chase from something like Secondwind, then I don't think you should lose DS- since you can't stop that perk from activating, and it's already a pain to get going.
Point is, I can agree with a DS nerf- but I can't agree with perks that are already bad getting worse because of a DS nerf, if that makes sense.
Personally as long as the other conditions for taking away decisive strike are meant I'm fine with people hopping in and out of a locker and still keeping it.
Certain Killers could take advantage of it.
The Trapper can place a trap in front of the locker essentially either forcing you to jump out before it's fully set or leaving you stuck in there are until you eventually decide to get out and get trapped. ( granted you could get people to come and help you you but at that stage you're wasting someone else's time could be on gen)
Hag can trap the vicinity and just teleport hit anybody who who leaves the locker.
If you're up against the pig and you have an active reverse bear trap she can just sit there and chill with some popcorn whilst you basically shorten your deaf timer
-
Why do you care if the killer is not outright camping you and just decides to smack you once or twice before leaving why does it matter. Hell even if you're the last person on the hook and they just decide to smack you repeatedly until the game ends why does it matter.
In the same way you find it annoying that I find survivors clicking flashlights or not leaving until the last Seconds of endgame collapse really annoying as well.
Bm is always going to be bm
Survivors butt dance
Killers nod
Survivors click flashlights
Killers smack on hook
Survivors don't leave until the last seconds of endgame collapse
Killers let the last person bleed out
People are always going to find a way to try to get one up on the other party.

As for ds I've sen so little people go for a totem after getting unhooked instead of doing a gen or trying to get attention to use the ds that its barely a factor, and the whole locker thing is just stupid tbh the fact that people can just hop in the locker and force the killer to eat the ds, stare at the locker to wait out ds, or leave is just utterly ridiculous from both a thematic, and a gameplay standpoint. As far as noed is concerned its a crutch perk to begin with and I'd be fine if it was nerfed into uselessness(and I'm a killer main before you complain about how I'm an entitled survivor main), the perk teaches killers bad habits and is just a last minute kill for nothing. Undying on the other hand I don't care for I hate totem perks in general, I hate losing my perks cause I decided I didn't want to camp an area for the whole match, not to mention the amount of horrid totem spawns in the game as well i generally hate most of the rig aspects of dbd and feel the game would be better off without most of them.
Crutch or not my main problem with the suggested to change is that he is putting way too much conditional elements on one perk.
1) you have to reach endgame
2) there has to be a dull totem available
3) you could only use it as long as still limited tokens are available
4) if the totem destroyed you lose it
Now what makes this worse is hitting an injured survivor can also take away your token meaning depending on how the game goes you could potentially end up feeding your tokens without getting any value from it.
If you're going to make it a token limited token based system then it cannot be a hex.
If you're going to keep it as a hex perk that will only spawn at endgame if a dull Totem is present. The token system isn't going to work
If you want to somehow have it both ways the benefits need to be way stronger than the one he is proposing.

I'm just going to go ahead and say that I find locker DS to be the single most annoying and overpowered thing anyone can do with DS alone. There is literally no counterplay and, in my experience, it always follows a short dash from a now-progressed gen or healed teammate. It is the most unfair thing in the entire game, including Nurse/Sprit/Slinger/Hag/PH/Freddy gameplay.
If the implement DS deactivating when you you get on a generator or fully heal or cleanse a totem.
The locker take will be pointless II a survivor touch is a gen or heals they forfeit their chance to decisive strike. If they want have their minute of safety they legitimately have to do nothing. ( even though I do feel like if you hook somebody else defensive strike should also deactivate)

As a killer main, Decisive's Otz fix is decent but you're very correct on healing and totems. If they GENUINELY sit there and cleanse a totem, then heal teammates, then self care, they are not being tunneled at all. DS needs to be a shorter time, but stop during chase, like what if it had 20/25/30 seconds duration, but would last forever while slugged or chased. Undying just needs to lose aura reading, otherwise, perk's balanced, it's an entire perk slot to make sure one stays up for a little longer. At last, Noed, this perk, sucks. Noed is honestly garbage on any normal build besides a Blood Warden Endgame Build. Noed is supposed to be a signal of "Hey, you should leave now" rather than "Go on a scooby doo scene to find the totem then probably die anyway so then you complain in post game". Blood Warden should deactivate if a survivor is suffering the Exposed status effect 15 seconds into it's activation. Noed is honestly trash and only gets you 1 kill, which is still a loss tbh. Otherwise, the patch is good, but I really don't agree with the DS and Noed fix at all, the Undying one is not good either.
Yeah the decisive strike change doesn't really stop it's me issues. It still retains its you can't touch me for a minute problematic quality.
Noed can enable some bad playstyles but his change isn't really what's best for the perk

infinite distortion wouldn’t be op if it did t combo with object of obsession tho lol, if a killer runs four aura reading perks that’s just a stupid idea on the killer’s part, bbq is easily countered by lockers and that’s like the main one killers use. If every survivor runs distortion they’re all playing with 3 perks each.
It doesn't matter whether they're common or not are you not understanding that.
Also did you literally just say object of obsession would not be powerful in combination I'm sorry what. I legitimately cannot take you seriously if you're going to make statements like that. Thank god you're not actually behind any game balancing
You do know one of the main reasons reasons why they added blindness to people who go into lockers so people can't just use object of obsession whilst in it.
The point of the matter is 1 perk should not be able to single-handedly remove a bunch of Perks and add-ons from coming into play. With no cost or condition whatsoever.
The closest in comparison is calm spirit and even that's not as powerful.
With the exception of barbecue a lot of aura reading perks and add-ons only give the benefit of aura reading.
You don't run scratch mirror for the bloodpoints and you don't run Amanda's letter for anything else

Off the record exists
That's irrelevant to the point I was making.
1) Off the Record can only activate twice.
2) It's only active for a limited time.
3) It requires you to be hooked.
There are requirements and conditions to get the immunity it's not unlimited and not for free.
Same goes with Sole Survivor your teammates have to be dead for it to work.
You're not getting aura immunity for free with any of these perks
What the op he was suggesting was free unlimited aura immunity if you running distortion.
Also as a lot of people have pointed out which I completely forgot object of obsession is a thing with OP's suggestion you could get unlimited object obsession with no downsides whatsoever.
Even when using object of obsession with Sole Survivor or off the record because of the conditions around it they're not an overpowered combo.
-
I'd be jelly because I couldn't do that as I'm a console player
-
I would be fine if they gave you ways to get tokens but definitely not if they made it unlimited.
Keep in mind this also would screw over.
Retribution
Undying
Nurses calling
Scratched mirror Myers
Amanda's letter piggy
All-seeing Wraith
Barbecue
There are some other aura Reading killer add-ons that I can't remember off the top of my head.
Bitter murmur
I'm all ears
It really isn't a good idea to have one perk can cancel out all of these whether they are common or not.
Increasing the amount of tokens or at least giving specific ways to gain limited tokens is fine.
But definitely not unlimited

I can't be just imagining a mega trend here. I'd be conservative saying at least 70% of the disconnects I see are coming from console users. No way it's compatibility issue because it's usually whenever they get downed early, or sometimes if they get downed late, oh and also sometimes if they get downed in the middle. And, naturally, when they're the killer and losing hard too. Y'know the usual.
It's just nuts how seriously they take things.
Also the teabagging. ######### is up with console people teabagging constantly at the exit gates? It's so common, that I'm honestly surprised when it doesn't happen on crossplay. Even matches where a normal person would realize they were allowed to escape I've see 'em do it as if walking out those gates is always some huge deal to them?
It's just so lame when you think you've had a fun chill match with someone and on their way out the gates they drop a douce to let you know they're douchebags and vrrrrry angry you tried to kill them the whole time.
I mean obviously neither of these things are exclusive to any platform, or new at all.... but goddamn I'm seeing a mega trend that cannot be coincidence. I can't even imagine how much worse chat would be if that existed.
Other people are noticing this too, ya?
As a console player (xbox) myself I can't particularly tell whether people I'm playing with are from other consoles or PC.
But I can at least say that that Xbox players do have an annoying tendency to stay at the exit gate until the last second.
It's annoying as a killer because you end up wasting my time. It's annoying as a survivor because anytime I try to do that stupid challenge that requires me to have people escaped while I'm alive I'm usually forced to eat an endgame collapse death.

Damn I would love to up vote more than once here. (Btw your first sentence says you WON'T go through but then you still elaborate your top 5? xD)
But on a side note, isn't something in point 5 and 3 contradicting?
In point 5 you say you would not blame the killer for going for the easier/more efficient kill and in point with the difference of 2 survivor doing bad plays (hook looping and doing a save with the killer in close proximity) the killer could start "tunneling" (a term associated with a certain negative note).
Just as a question and not meant as attack on you (written text without intonation is hard to understand in subtext).
Personally I don't consider tunnelling to be negative in the same vein I don't consider camping to be negative.
If an opportunity arises and you think tunneling is viable go ahead more power to you.
My major irritation or at least for when I play survivor is when other teammates allowed tunnelling to happen.
The same thing could be said for hook rushing that I said for looping around the hook. You allowed tunneling to happen more easily but in all honesty I can't blame the killer for tunneling if it's the smart choice and and my team a practically handed them a free injured Survivor.

I've enjoyed this interaction. Props to you appreciate the laughs you gave me forum friend.

Definitely would like a survivor based on the douchebag/ alpha b*tch stereotypes in horror.
Basically perks that are very self serving you would have to make sure they can't be used to intentionally screw over your team (As much as it would fit the theme of the character it would be terrible for gameplay)

Honestly even is someone who completes the rifts every time it's still pretty annoying that they made it even harder for this one.
Now I'm aware they can't have it too unbelievably easy because then there's no reason for people to buy tiers and a business is a business. Also Dead by daylight already has a serious grind to it, which is why I've always held the notion that the idea of completing all the challenges getting you to 70 is a bit ridiculous it was never going to happen and I'm surprised people thought it was going to happen this way.
However I'm really disappointed because it did really feel like comparing the 1st 2nd and 3rd tome they were really making strides to reduce the Grind it wasn't perfect but it was a good middle ground.
While rewards for tome 3 weren't the best it just felt better in terms of grinding as long as they kept at that level it would have been fine. But I think it's going to progressively get worse hopefully I'm wrong

I won't go through my top 5 most hated.
5). Hook rushers- Personally I don't give two craps what emblems or challenges you're trying to get can you please for the love of God not farm me. ( no borrowed time does not mean that you didn't farm me unless there are exit gates for me to run to you still left me in a sticky situation all you did with borrowed time was protect your bloodpoints and emblem)
If you pull me off hook before the killer could even take 3 steps I can't really blame the killer for immediately downing and hooking my butt again. Would it be nice if they didn't go after me yes but when you're practically feeding them free kills I can't really tell them off.
PS it's also very annoying when I'm playing killer and I can't even get my devour hope and make your choice to work because you don't let me get away from the hook
4). Clickers/ notification spammers- Can you please stop doing this most killers with more than 2 brain cells are going to realise if you want to be chased you're not someone they want to chase currently.
So in the grand scheme of things all you're doing is wasting time that could be spent on a gen. Also if you do this don't complain when you suddenly get tunneled when they killer finally start paying attention to you.
3). Hook loopers- Please stop looping the killer by the hook if the killer is chasing you try to get as far away from the hook as possible.
All you're doing is making it even harder for people to save the person on the hook ( keep in mind that person is on a time limit) and even easier for a killer to suddenly start tunnelling if they so choose to.
Also survivors common sense if somebody is looping the killer around the hook you can't really say the killer is camping.
2). Megheads- yes I know it's incredibly generalized.
This goes to all the people who explode your generator and then run leaving you to take the heat.
All the people who think their sprint burst is worth more than my life if and will literally crouch or walk their way to the hook when I'm about to hit second stage.
To all the people who stand in front of vaults or pallets for some stupid reason when they're not being chased which pretty much only results in person actually getting chased getting hit or downed.
To all those who don't use their common sense and will run into areas they are fully aware that have people in there usually resulting in rubbing the killer off on those was people.
Nine times out of ten it's always a Meg
1). Insta dc'ers or Hook suiciders-
Just because you get down first it does not mean you need to disconnect you ruin the game for everybody when you do that.
Same goes for if you encounter a killer you don't like.
Or an add on
Or a perk
Or map
Or if your teammates make a mistake they're human
Or if your teammates bringing a perk you don't like.
I could go on with more of the BS reasons I've actually seen people disconnect but I think you get the idea
Lastly if you're being camped please please please please just take the camp so we can get generators done.
If you ######### on hook all you're doing is making it easier for the camper to camp more people.
I know it's annoying but please just endure it.
-
Honestly I don't consider self-care a bad perk it's actually pretty good it's just that 90% of the time people use it it's in really stupid situations.
1) No Claudette the killer has insta Downs activated can you please not self care
2) When two people are slugged and one person is on the hook. Do you mind not wasting 32 seconds and instead save us then you could self-care in the corner all you like
3) Meg, I just saved you off the hook and I have we'll make it. It's also doctor and he is literally shocking someone across map let me heal you instead of running to the corner to self care.
4) STOP SELF CARING AGAINST LEGION
Are they good times to use self care. yes if you currently don't have an objective ( you just popped a gen) and you're up against somebody like Oni with no one to heal you I would much prefer you not give him free power

Literally 90% of the Hag player base puts 2~3 traps under a single hook and just patrols 3 gens near that same hook. Even if you approach it crouching she'll simply walk back to it and then what you do? You're on a lose/lose situation. If you crouch walk to not trigger the traps, she has time to get to you and if you trigger the traps it's the same. You can say "just do gens" but as I said she is probably the best killer to patrol gens and hooks at the same time. Unless you're on a very coordinated SWF or you have a purple flashlight with double battery there's not much you can do.
Btw, if you think it's okay for the Hag to trap hooks I also want to put trails with Pyramid under hooks, so I can instantly cage/mori people who are unhooked too.
Don't give yourself a 3 gen then.
90% of the time I usually get a 3 gen Strat it's normally not because I specifically went for it but because the survivors were so eager to pop every generator they come across that they completed all the generators on one side.
In fact I could pretty much only really remember three times I've specifically decided to say the screw the other generators I'm only defending these three.
The scenario you describe is the hag using perfect strategy. You most likely gave her a 3 gen and hooking people within the patrol route of that 3 gen is just the smart thing to do.
1) Spread out your generators. If you notice the killer is only specifically defending 3 put pressure on one of them the killer cannot be in several places at once.
2) if they do manage to get a 3 gen whether they worked for it or you gave it to do them. Don't get down within the radius hell run across map instead of a wall if you have to.
Usually a defensive killer will give up on the chase when they feel like you're going too far away from their strat. This is the perfect time for your teammates to start pressuring one or two of the gens
