  • Give players more motivation to not DC is the better solution imo
I gotta disagree, as long as people DC because they missed DS or got their totem cleansed they can gtfo and uninstall DbD tbh.

Same here. Do 4, can't see the last, assume that surely the other 3 survivors have managed to do 1 totem between them....but nope.

I feel like I'm banging my head against a brick wall here. Let me explain...

NOED is harsh on solo survivors but it means nothing to 3/4 man SWF.

Want an indication of when a dull totem is cleansed? - killers won't have it.

Want some form of Kindred as a baseline ability? - killers won't have it

Yet they insist SWF is unfair and they want it removed, yet won't allow anything to make solo survivor more enjoyable.

How about you agree to give little quality of life upgrades for solo survivors so that swf crews can hop on solo and feel they aren't at a disadvantage and might play more solo games?

Killer mains just want everything swung in their favour.

Some form of Kindred as a baseline ability would be so nice. It's stupid that I can see survivors' auras while I'm hooked, which does me little to no good, but they can't see each others' auras, something that would benefit me (and them) way more than me watching them do gens or crouch around. Showing survivors' auras to each other should be baseline and Kindred should be altered so that each tier just shows the killer's aura within a certain distance of the hook. Right now, Kindred tier 1 is completely useless, anyway, and it makes no sense that it even exists.

    Sorry if that's off topic.

But yes, Small Game at least should tell the survivor running it how many hex/dull totems are left on the map. The perk is useful for finding totems and avoiding traps, but it's useless for countering NOED.

How about you just run Kindred instead? Guys stop asking to devs to hold your hand.
Builds work like that, they force you to choose, not to run everything you want.

    I do run Kindred.

    Awesome then.

It's an idea to close the gap between solo and swf. And as far as I remember one of the devs said that the intention of this idea was exactly that. So as closer the gaps as easier the balancing will be
Yeah but i love to play solo and the added challenge as well. I don't want them to make it easier, it's fine as it is.
Playing solo forces me to change my build (i love that) and i can be more focused on what's going on around me.
I see where you are coming from, that's one of the reasons why I play solo most of the time.
But somehow we have to sacrifice things for the overall better health of balancing. That's just my opinion, I only can see a successful balanced DbD AFTER closing the gap of solo and swf as much as possible (without just adding voice chat for solos) and currently the gap is just really huge.

Kindred would be one really big and important step and I think we should at least give it a shot in a PTB to see how good or bad it is.
I see solos and swf the same way i see different killers, they are different difficulty levels. It's up to you which one to choose.

Yes, it was a bad idea which mainly came from killer mains complaining about SC and totally backfired on them as we can see now. Funny thing is that i still see some people asking for SC to get nerfed, ignoring that even more survivors would realize about how useless is SC and changing their build to Resilience + Adrenaline.

I've started to use Resilience, Adrenaline (yup you're right about the first 2), Balanced Landing and Iron will. It's so easy to survive and genrush the hell out of the killers. The self care nerf was stupid and backfired on the killers. I love it. Although as killer, I've had to resort to playing scummy to win. ITS BEAUTIFUL.

Resilience + Adrenaline are the way to go, especially with friends. The other 2 depend on your playstyle.

Yes. My fault for rank reset. Guess I deserve this for not playing much?

Guess I deserve to have teammates who dont cleanse totems?

Again, all this rhetoric does is encourage swf play, and then you know how much salt that causes on here.
If randoms dont do gens then do what i do, run small game and cleanse totems while they do gens. Problem solved.

    yawn

How much does Behaviour pay you to defend all of their decisions?

Bad game design is not giving surviors any clue as to how is cleansing totems are how many are cleansed. Lets just have all 4 survivors running around looking for 5 totems, I'm sure we'll manage to get the gens done too.

How many training wheels do you need to accept the game as it is right now?
Noed can be negated before it triggers, if survivors refuse to counter it then it's on them.
Yeah, sometimes the killer is good at keeping the map pressure and you are forced to do gens instead of totems, so what?
So good killers pressure survivors to focus on gens, then they mop up any they missed with NOED. Sounds like a fun game right there.

Pretty much the entire community has been salty about DS and NOED for years now. The entire game can come down to a battle between those 2 perks sometimes it's ridiculous.

Ok I'll do totems and swf then. Oh wait no we cant get a game then because killers lobby dodge knowing their precious totems will be gone!

Is it too much to [BAD WORD] ask for an indication of how many totems are actually cleansed? So that when im running around looking for them I know if im wasting my time or not?
You are basically asking to be feed with a baby spoon. Totem remainings can still be seen.
Just because part of the community complain about something doesnt mean they are right. Actually most of them are people who refuse to adapt and instead want the game to be changed according to their will.
I think you never played in a way to escape WITH your random team mates against a really strong killer. There is no time for 4 solo survivors that everyone searches individually for 5 totems. If everyone makes sure 5 totems are cleansed NOED doesn't matter anyway because till this point the killer had so much time to kill everyone.
That's why i said in a previous comment:

    So just die then lol

Great game balance idea. You should apply for a job on the team.
Dude, if the killer is good enough then yeah, i will totally accept defeat and send him/her a "gg". What's the problem?

You have to admit that noed is usually only stomping solo survivors cuz of lack of informations, while good/smart swf groups will never have an issue of noed
My solo survivor build is: kindred, bond, open handed and small game. Why? Because i know randoms don't do totems, because i know most killers run hex totems and/or noed, because i know that if i do what most players don't  do we'll succeed (or maybe just them, bu that works for me)
I adapt my playstyle and build according to how most players (both killers and survivors) work, and works pretty damn well.
If i can do it anyone else can do it as well, just requires some brain.

If you guys say that Doc got nerfed because of the changes on Nurse's calling then you must admit that SC got nerfed too since it's related to a healing action.

Who says that? I certainly don't. Only stuff that changed in itself is either buffed or nerfed. SC wasn't nerfed as its values weren't changed. The Doctor wasn't nerfed just because a Perk he has the option of using no longer reveals Snapping Out Of It Survivors. His power wasn't changed.

If anything in that equation, then Nurse's Calling was nerfed.

I agree, but we got several threads of people claiming that Doc got nerfed because of NC. Maybe you didn't, but some others did say that.

About SC its values weren't changed but the healing changes affected that perk indirectly, which is why some people stopped running it.

Because it takes 8 seconds longer to heal? My what an atrocity, must mean the Perk is utter garbage.

And really, it's still omni-present in my games, there are at least 2-3 SCs still.

Well guess why, the ability to heal yourself is just mindblowing, no need to search for a teammate that can heal you (which is even difficult via voicecomms if you are playing with inexperienced survivors)

Still a worse tactic than not healing and keep doing gens. (of course you still need to be a decent survivor to afford being injured)
I'm so thankful for the healing nerf, seriously, made me see things from a different point of view and become more efficient.

Which shows you how broken the gen situation is right now.

I agree with the healing nerf aswell, being injured needs to mean sth.

It means something already, you are giving the chance to the killer to get instadowned again. I would say it's a good trade-off.
If killers can't take advantage from that then it's on them.

Still a worse tactic than not healing and keep doing gens. (of course you still need to be a decent survivor to afford being injured)
I'm so thankful for the healing nerf, seriously, made me see things from a different point of view and become more efficient.

I by myself and many I know of are playing the "No heal meta" which means basically not equipping selfcare, always using adrenalin and rush the gens injured.

The plan of nerfing selfcare was to slow down the game. This works for the casual and the only "just" survivors, because they will still selfcare even against Legion lol.

However, for the more advanced survivors selfcare became a "wasted" perkslot and this leads to survivors to rush the gens even faster, especially coordinated SWF groups who got 4x adrenalin.

I was always running adrenalin and only pushed the last gen injured, but lately I push all gens injured as survivor.

What's your opinion? Did the selfcare nerf helped you to slow the game down or are games even faster done cuz everyone is pushing gens injured? As killer I feel SWF games are ending even quicker than before if they have all adrenalin and noone selfcare.

SC hasnt been nerfed, just like DS rework didnt happen and the hatch sloing mechanic has been dismissed

Every second counts, that's why i run Resilience too.
Exactly! Also, it's 8 second longer without sloppy right? How long is it with sloppy/beeing mangled? Way to long imo
Yeah i don't remember, but enough to do half gen or so i think.

    Step back I guess.

Mods are not that active and i need @Tsulan to not be a mod so i can keep arguing with him.

    What would change?
I don´t even report people. Only bots.

I didn't mean reports, i meant that mods don't comment often precisely because they are mods.

  • Jumpscare Bubba:
    Tinkerer
    Monitor and Abuse
    Insidious
    Surveillance.

Kick a gen, go insidious and run back in once its white. Keep track on progressions to make the best use of Tinkerer and M&A.

I played as and against that meme build, its funny though not viable, can still lead to a few nice rounds if you don't take the game seriously.
I've seen people using insidious to camp gens and then get free grabs. Funny, but as you said, not viable at all.
  • If survivors want to waste their time looking for chests then i'll gladly take it, honestly.

What happend? I do not see anything in the recent patchnotes...

We are talking about the last healing nerf, which happened some time ago already.

So... Why are people arguing about it now, instead of arguing about it when it came out?

Because more people started to notice that less survivors run SC due to being a waste of time and instead they do gens and heal themselves with adrenaline, making the gemrush even faster than before.

Every [BAD WORD] time survivors find a way to work around new changes people come over and complain about how they managed to adapt to those changes.

No, it's actually the other way around.

When is it survivors turn to 'just adapt'?

They already did, this is why we got this thread now.
That being said i'm not here to defend every suggestion from survivor mains, i know many of them are pretty dumb and i've been against them too.

SWF rushing gens with Adrenaline is just an SWF issue and the unholy trio of perks issue (DS/NOED/Adrenaline).
What's wrong with Adrenaline now? It's an end game perk, meaning that survivors gotta play with 3 perks most of the match. If they are alive by the time all gens are done i say the earned it.
Every [BAD WORD] time survivors find a way to work around new changes people come over and complain about how they managed to adapt to those changes.
Well as has been discussed, 4 man SWF in which if multiple are alive at the end then they get a super sprint burst which is almost twice as long as regular, an instaheal, and it can even be used righr after a regular exhaustion perk if the timing is right.

The killer at that point has 20 seconds before the gates are opened in which to catch up to, outplay and then down the survivor. Really shafts lower tier killers if they don't have NOED.

That's why everyone says if NOED went Adrenaline would need to go too.
If multiple survivors, especially all 4, are still alive by the time gates are powered that means killer messed up, so i don't see a problem there.
I don't have any single problem with noed either, they both can stay.
So if you have a bad game, especially on a pallet heavy map, it's ok to take a middle finger at the end game?
Yes, same if you have a bad game as a survivor. Accept defeat in both cases and move on.
  • Honestly these kinds of players need bans, If only to teach them a lesson.
If it's okay to DC against a killer you don't enjoy then what if Killers starts DCing once they see DS?

Agreed with the bans, but killers DCing is something that i see already every single day i play DbD just because match went wrong for them, 1 or 2 minimum per night.
