I haven't seen many people freak out over reassurance. It's a perk that does it's job, and that's counter camping. Most people I see bring up valid points about it's griefing potential.
-
I really want VHS to succeed, the characters they made are charming, the aesthetic is good (basically Fortnite meets 80s/90s b horror movies) and the cosmetics are good (I hate their rotating store format however but hey it's a free2play game), but so far they don't seem to be responding to criticisms regarding the monster role. They need to overhaul it immediately. The monster role is extremely beginner unfriendly and will turn off potential casual players this game will need to keep it's head above water. The queue times speak for themselves.
Doesn't help that whenever criticisms about the monster role is brought up the community is quick to shut it down "Get gud" "Your probably just way too used to DBD! Monster isn't the power role here!" "Skill issue" "Just keep playing lol you'll get it eventually".

Yeah Rebecca currently gives Claire and Jane a run for their money on how loud she is. Meanwhile Ada is Ace levels of quiet. Funny, bhvr said they were going to try even the volume levels on certain survivors in a later update, but then released Rebecca loud as heck.
-
I ain't stopping until it's impossible for nurse to abuse exposed builds. Make her blink attacks count as special already bhvr.
-
I prefer there being a counter than adrenaline being nerfed to the ground.
-
I'd rather have this information before the match starts but whatever.
-
I don't think he needs to be killswitched but my god I hope they fix the blood orb bug soon. I got 5 onis in a row, and it's getting old. I never found him interesting to verse in the first place.

2 - 3 minutes for a match is not a bad queue time.
It kinda is when most people were used to 15-30 second queues on killer.
OP, killer queues are long because everyone wants to play killer right now. It should stabilize once the queue incentives come back. Which won't be for another month 😬.

That is weird. They want to shake up the meta, by making people use different perk combos, but they actually cut the number of meaningful combos you can have...
Yeah. I love running tank builds, sabo builds, vault speed builds, healing builds etc. So far bhvr has pretty much nuked two of the builds I loved running pre meta shift patch. MoM was somewhat usable for my sabo/tank hybrid build but alas, now that's getting nuked in this patch.
-
They're going to obliterate built to last and prove thyself next. Mark my words.
-
@RedCloud said:
Does this mean mettle of man deactivates if you perform a conspicuous action?
Yep. It also won't work if your already in deep wounds now. So the only reason this perk was appealing for certain builds has been taken away.
-
@Seraphor said:
MoM got buffed.
It now works after 2 protection hits instead of 3.
The "nerf" realistically won't affect anyone who's using this perk properly.
Basically, you should have no reason to run away from the killer if you're taking protection hits and have an endurance effect.
The appeal of MoM was that it didn't work like other endurance effects. That appeal is now gone, because they made it like every other endurance effect. Took a hit with MoM, now you could take another with a well timed DH because no deep wounds. Now that's no longer the case. It's a straight up nerf no doubt about it. Why take two protection hits to get a normal endurance effect when you can just run OTR or DH. Or hell even a medkit add on.
-
Of all survivor perks that I expected to see them nerf MoM was not it. No perk is safe from needless nerfs it seems. Better start preparing myself for when they nerf quick and quiet or streetwise out of the blue.

I'm sure we'll be able to bully them into reverting the MoM nerf like we did back when the devs thought nerfing Rat Liver with no compensation was a good idea
They didn't revert the calm spirit nerf, so I have no hope that they won't go through with MoM nerf.
-
Bhvr really thought taking one less protection hit was an even exchange for MoM not working when in deep wounds, losing it to conspicuous actions, and having the killer read your aura when it activates. They can't be serious right now.
-
Honestly believe half the basekit killer buffs will be reverted. Why they didn't do both the solo q icons and the killer buffs in the same patch I'll never understand.
-
My favorite thing is them acknowledging that people didn't like it and instead of scrapping it they just lowered the amount.
-
2025 is when we're going to see those solo q buffs at this rate.
-
Oh please. I highly doubt that all my teammates who DC/suicide on hook for being tunneled are trying to inflate kill rates. (DCs aren't taken in account anyway) Some people just aren't having fun. What should happen is bhvr deciding to prioritize making things better for solo q by working on those HUD icons immediately, rather than putting it on the back burner trying to release a streamer mode. Why they didn't think to do the icons and the killer buffs in the same patch I'll never understand.
-
If a survivor doesn't want to be in a match, forcing them to stay won't magically make them team players. The amount of times I've saved some trying to die on hook, only for them to sandbag and throw a tantrum is too many to count.
-
"Survivors are throwing" or maybe people just aren't having fun. 90 second gens on top of 4 gen slowdowns, nurses, camping got stronger this patch, legions/plagues running obnoxious thana builds. I could go on.
-
You know it's bad when at night my survivor queues are still fast. Or when my favorite late night killer main twitch streamer is playing survivor 😬.
Queue incentives please come back already. I would like to play more killer.
-
I don't want anime outside of cosmetic collabs. Anime doesn't translate to 3D well at all in the first place and would clash with DBD's aesthetic. The AOT skins already look kinda goofy.
My dream Collab is anything Junji Ito, but only as skins.
-
Hey, I didn't say that. Bhvr could make gens take 100 seconds to complete and killers would still run slowdown perks. If old forever freddy taught me anything it's that if players can then they will make gens 12 hours long to complete if possible.
-
To get people to stop using it. Honestly just use COH + new botany. You'll never have to bring a medkit again.
-
@SkeletalElite said:
Old self care
16 / (.5) = 32 seconds
Old SC Botany
16 / (1.33 x .5) = 24.5 seconds
New SC
16 / (.35) = 45.8 seconds
New SC Botany
16 / (.35 x 1.5) = 30.5 seconds.
Damn...they really destroyed self care.
-
That Kate cosmetic looks pretty but I'm worried it'll be a set. Also holy ######### that dredge. Haddie, I see, is not being considered at all?
-
deliverance + off the record + built to last + lithe has treated my solo q endeavors well so far.
-
COH and new Botany knowledge is basically old COH. Self care takes way too long to justify using it now. Especially with so many killers running sloppy/hemorrhage add-ons now.
-
That's gotta be a bug.
-
I just want the aot skins already.
-
Tome. They won't start teasing chapters till August. Question is, does this mean the update is tomorrow or next week?
-
I mean I would be confused if they nerf her, if their intent is to buff killrates...
-
Thana only really becomes problematic when combined with other slowdowns, and that isn't really thana's fault. After the patch combined with an extra 50 seconds of gen time, buffed thana, buffed gift of pain + 2 other gen defense perks I can see plagues and legions becoming really obnoxious. It's not old forever freddy levels of obnoxious, but it could be close.
-
They want corrupt to be useful for setup/slow killers and nerfed for high mobility ones (nurse, blight ect).
-
VHS is about to launch early access soon™️, and then there's evil dead: the game. I enjoy evil dead but queue times can be horrible and the matches can last pretty long. Often times I play one match and have 0 desire to play another.

Lightweight meta, mark my words,
Saying it will become meta is a stretch, but I'm glad they made the perk useful. Want to try it with sprint burst/overcome, fixated and quick and quiet.
-
I really hate that they nerfed the healing speed, it was so unnecessary. 42 seconds for a complete heal.
-
Your missing that once it's activated, it'll reveal the location when within 4 meters of it and THEN after 30 seconds will reveal itself at 24 meters. Which imo is the perfect nerf for it. The biggest problem I had with NOED, was trying to find during it endgame not being able to and just leaving. Like ######### me for cleansing 3 totems and still not being able to find the last two and my teammate getting ######### by NOED.
-
Because they simply aren't a problem.

I don't know why everyone always says they want a 50% kill rate. The only percentage I've heard them use is 60%

So why did they nerf pinhead? I remember them saying him having a 61% killrate was too high and toned down his add-ons (mainly engineers fang).
-
Prove it still good, unbreakable was untouched, BT was made even better, DS will still be used because it combos well with new OTR. All this "shake up" did was make sure spine chill, iron will and dead hard will no longer be used as much. The perks they did buff were nice (except calm spirit and botany), but I doubt you'll still see people running sole survivor. I don't think anybody on the PTB ran sole survivor.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Also, tier 1 self care takes 64 seconds, and the game considers you to be afk after being in the same place for 60.
I truly don't know why they felt the need to nerf the healing speed on self care. All they had to do was get rid of the medkit efficiency. Now because of them making self care take almost half gen, they had to double nerf botany just so they could buff the healing speed to 50%.
-
@Mandy said:
Reducing the strength of the majority of the perks was necessary if you want to do things from a balanced view. Base game changes were also included as well.
There is no way you can buff a perk so that it would be as useful as Dead Hard for example, without it being completely overpowered in regular play - hence the need to rework the current meta perks and buff/rework other perks so that they will replace the meta...and give people a chance to use other perks without feeling like they need to use specific perks.
I totally understand that players get attached to certain perks and feel a sense of loss when things change - we saw it previously with Hex Ruin. But that's part of the fun of a live game, that things like that can and will change - shaking up the meta is a great way to breathe freshness into the game. We've all complained about seeing the same builds over and over, and this is really going to change that up a bit.
Y'all did more than reduce the strength of some the perks. Y'all straight up nuked them. Some of them didn't even deserve it. Iron will, self care, spine chill, calm spirit (that useless buff is more of a nerf because of the speed debuff), ruin (might as well be a non hex perk now), pop are all so bad.
-
Nobody asked for BK to be buffed but they had to, because they nerfed self care's healing speed. But they knew a 50% healing and efficiency bonus to medkits would be too much, so they removed the efficiency bonus and gave it efficiency debuff instead. So a perfectly fine perk, had to be double nerfed because of their overnerf to another perk.
Hey at least it will be good with circle of healing.
-
Solo q will definitely be more difficult. We'll be back to having to run BT still, because a 5 seconds BT is nothing.
-
At some point killers got to learn how to counterloop and mindgame. Being carried by bloodlust is not the way to go.
-
Damn so nothing changed for survivors in having to still run BT huh.
-
Forget the self care nerf. The calm spirit nerf was left unchanged.

Being locked out of skins unless you want to sign up and pay for an entirely unrelated service is kind of #########.
They could at least put them in the Store for people to purchase normally.
Especially since it's obvious bhvr took skins they were going to put in the store and put them behind prime instead. In the case of artist and haddie, they put skins that were supposed to come with them in the store at launch behind prime.
