I'm not well-informed about D&D so I didn't have much reaction to the reveal.
Also I don't think it's as global as other licenses we have. I'm certain almost nobody knows what D&D is where I live.

I'm still surprised ppl still call it rank reset for almost 2 years now. It's not called rank anymore, they are grades, which has no effect in your placements with other ppl. That's MMR. And even then, the system will place you with anyone as a last resort to prevent waiting too long for a lobby.
Same! I blame the game for not informing their players well enough about what anything means.

i bought seoul socialite when the glitch to mix it was available.. i don't really use the cosmetic anymore unfortunately... but i heavily agree and would know they'd get a bunch more buyers of the cosmetic if they just unlinked it. i don't get why they keep it linked, it's such a versatile outfit and has been proven time and time again and i cannot understand any possible downsides of unlinking it other than "they don't know how" which i refuse to believe they don't… honestly makes me want to play more yun jin now.
OMG I love you guys for supporting this idea! Now that cosmetics are such an integral part of DBD's monetization, they should at least get rid of linked sets that can be easily separated without any issues!

the reason is it’s a free second chance. The killer won chase and now you get one more chance to escape. It would be like if a survivor got a gen done but the killer was able to regress it back to 50 with one tap
can't killers already do that with pain res + pop LOL?
-
I'm still hoping and praying for it. Yun-Jin's Seoul Socialite needs to be released from the linked prison!
-
A lot of players would still appreciate this!

Hi all,
Just now when the rank reset happened, I already had a bit over a million bloodpoints. I was Iri 1 on both killer and survivor so I got my two 1 million bloodpoint rewards, but my bloodpoints only went up to 2 025 000. I thought that rank reset bloodpoints were able to exceed the cap? Can someone explain what happened or is this just a bugyeah same for me, it got capped at 2m for me even though it should've been more.
-
Why is nobody talking about Dork? She needs to be saved. They're after her!

It's a lie mine got stuck at 2m too.😭 It should've been bigger than that.

Knockout and Breakdown. Both would lead to a lot of slugging to the point where survivors regularly bleed out.
omg I can't imagine knockout and breakdown becoming basekit that would be crazy
-
Survivors should not be able to use any perks! Problem solved!
-
Omg these are super cute.
Look at the piggy! So grumpy uwu.
-
"survivors are getting away with it"?
getting away with what? knowing where 3 gens are and a miniscule speed boost?
-
Still waiting on this simple QoL change…

I don't have to squint anymore!

The game right now is balanced this way: the one that wants to win harder will win.
This mostly comes down to the load out.
On killer: strong killer like blight, Nurse, spirit, Artist, plague or Wesker with 3 slowdowns, aura and very strong addons.
On survivor : swf on comms with map offering, tollboxes and med kits in addition to very strong addons and ds + adren + dh, sb, lithe, balanced + Windows + deliverance.
Who ever doesn't bring it against the other side that brings it WILL loose.
Most matches are decided in the pre game lobby.
The power discrepancy between killers is a valid argument. However, leaving things as they are, making them (seemingly) dependant on certain perks is not good for the game in the long run. Killer strength needs to be more in line, then the base game can improve. Killers should not be balanced around perks and vice versa. Perks should help. Not be necessary.
Both sides can bring "unbeatable" stuff.
Yeah, I agree with you. I think that perks should be helpful tools and not dictators of who is going to "win".
Once it feels like your efforts to progress the game are futile against certain perks, it's a problem. This goes for both sides.
Even though the progress is slow, it's evident that BHVR is trying to implement this concept.
I wish to see Killers that are generally considered "weak" to be stronger but I don't think this should be accomplished by perks. This creates an imbalance and dependency and will never fix the core issue.
At this point does the Killer win because of their skill and how they utilized their power or did they win just because they had the X, Y, Z Perks…
-
I think it's a really interesting change. We never had a perk that gave Sprint Burst to another survivor without causing Exhaustion. I think it's creative.
-
Turns out one nerf wasn't enough since pain res + pop was still a busted combo. Just because it got nerfed once doesn't mean it's done.
How many times did Dead Hard get nerfed?
-
I'm glad Pain Res + Pop is getting a touch up.
-
200 percent literally looked like you're hacking so 150 is fine imo.
I'm not sure about the cooldown duration yet.
I don't think calling this a "buff" would be correct though.

A culture of radical optimism is a good place to start. The social sphere is filled with so much perpetual circular toxicity and negativity that the answer to it is an equal or stronger force. Complaining comes natural- instinctual. While compliments do not. So it is an act of conscious will power to be positive. I honestly suggest that people try it. Doing good makes a person feel good. What helps me is trying to see the beauty in something.
Human nature can be on the right track sometimes, it also can be wrong a lot too. Bad things happen because of it. It’s hard to convince humans that their behavior leads to destruction. All throughout history this has been difficult to achieve because toxicity makes sense to the individual committing the negativity. This negativity is difficult to move because it has great mass and it also has great inertia. It protects itself. It needs just as great of a sustained force to stop it from being a runaway train. Instead of fighting fire with fire, it would be better to neutralize the fire in the first place.
People are used to fighting and defending themselves. If you take the fight itself away you may witness confusion or the other person’s need to fight starting to re-manifest. When this happens kill the toxicity with even more kindness.Radical optimism I believe is the answer. Think sincere well wishes, sincere compliments on gameplay, cosmetics, names, etc. Even just being truly grateful for the other people themselves willing to play the same game together. This is the place to start in trying to tackle this behemoth of human nature in our community. Toxicity isn’t healthy. People who commit it must be suffering somehow. I see toxicity a little bit as a cry for help. So… let’s find the courage to do something about it. Who cares if your compliments get rejected. Who cares if you’re being nice then told something horrible. At least you created something good out of something bad. Let’s build the community that we want it to be. Let us be the actual change that we actually want to see.
This is what I recommend.
Law of Attraction✨

I think everybody looks nice but I would say:
For females: Yun-Jin, Jane, Elodie, Thalita…
For males: David, Gabriel, Renato, Leon…
-
A map for The Trickster and Yun-Jin would save DBD.
-
I love the DBD community! It's so queer-coded.

UPDATE 7.7.1
✅ [ FIXED ] Default Skirts : The seams don't appear anymore. The physics can be improved though since her legs come out when crouching and running. This wasn't an issue before UE5.
✅ [ FIXED ] Grand Moment + Sporty Stature + Outstay : The texture errors have been fixed.
❌ [ NOT FIXED ] Celestial Cats : The top still clips under any bottom you wear.
❌ [ NOT FIXED ] Tinted Sunglasses : The glasses are still opaque and she's balding.
❌ [ NOT FIXED ] Rio V + Professional Shirt : The tops still create a gap when combined with most bottoms.

How it was a health hazard? I mean you say this like 110% percent of players have epilepsy. And I think nowdays basicly every single game has a warning about it, and if it not good for you then stop playing.
With that mindset all the other bugs can be health hazard since anybody can a hearthattack from example from a Myers.
And the problem is not that they are focused on that bug first - sure, even if you have no epilepsy it can be annoying as hell. The problem is that altogether it took 2 weeks meanwhile they have more then 2 people for it. And for thet 2 weeks none of the problematic perks/items/maps get killswitched which is outworldly.
So while they sort out their bugs I go play sth else. For sure. But to be honest then why I would give any money for a company where they cannot do the most simple thing and rollback until they fix those gamebraking and health issues. Or at least killswitch those things?
No offense but I found the first part of your comment quite funny.
You don't have to be personally diagnosed with an illness to acknowledge that it might be hazardous to others. Also you comparing it to people dying over Myers is so unserious LOL.
I agree with the rest of what you said though which is what the discussion is about.

It doesn't even hide your pools of blood by the way. How stupid is that? LOL.
You're also audible when injured or not running Quick and Quiet.

Yesterday it occurred to me,
That I’ve been playing too much Dead by Daylight.… Sorry. I just had to do it. The first part of this post just really reminded me of it.

Meh I get it's a lot to work on but I honestly believe people are giving BHVR too much leeway here. This is a company that released a killer 5 years ago and only just now fixed a "bug" that existed since release. That took years to balance a huntress add on which was about as complicated as limiting the number of hatchets to 1 and it goes on and on with twins, blast mine, several killers being kill switched a year, etc. Nobody is saying they need to work more hours but it is a completely legitimate criticism to say the quality just isn't there with this game and I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for better.
Thank you for understanding my point of view. I don't know why people think I'm saying that they should work 80 hours a week. It's all about quality standards.
It's confusing to me why this player base has such low standards. I think they were conditioned by lack of quality or they don't play any other live service games that don't take years to implement the smallest QoL feature or fix bugs.

Yea. I didnt go in expecting less bugs from the update to UE5. I expected more bugs because of it. But i understand its going to come with more bugs and more work to be able to at least minimize these bugs with hotfixes. Its just unfortunate that the community is getting more impatient when bhvr prioritized fixing a health hazard over bugs.
Are we only allowed to have one bug fix every 2 weeks? Why are you guys so limited about it? I don't understand this argument.
Why is not having a concussion when playing a game suppose to be our standard? Should we get no more bug fixes now that this is fixed?
Why can't I express my disappointment about the slow progress of bug fixing just because one thing got fixed? I added my acknowledgment of the strobing fix only because I knew some people could say "but they fixed this thing!" and that's it.
The discussion isn't about if strobing should've been fixed or not at all. I don't know why y'all are twisting it this hard.
-
@Mooks said:
The only issue acknowledged and fixed was strobing which was literally a health hazard.
Why are the standards so low for a game that deserves more?
you could have worded this better/not directly after one another…They prioritized the right issue first
No, I'm not implying something like "Why did they only fix this?"…
As I said, it was literally a health hazard. I don't even acknowledge that as a bug, it's unacceptable. It's dangerous and it shouldn't even have happened and should be top priority.
But fixing that issue doesn't mean to halt all other progress. Right? Does BHVR only have 2 employees? Is that all they could do in 2 weeks?

I find Demo to be more fun! I always end up doing something I don't want to when playing Dredge because the controls are weird to my brain.
-
DBD players work?!?! What about our promise?!?
-
I support this idea!
Especially about Yun-Jin. Her 2 linked sets are so easy to separate without any issues. Not only the hair but other parts too!
Also we have so many clipping issues after the last update anyways might as well unlink these outfits too if that's really their only concern LOL.
-
I would recommend Wraith!
-
To be honest it had the opposite effect on me.
I'm nearing 4k hours (omg) and I'm terrified of breaking any rules, even unknowingly. Because I poured too much time and money into my account and it's very valuable to me. I think back then I would feel less frightened.
I'm even scared to use bugged perks that haven't been killswitched just to stay safe.
You will NOT see me getting reported! 🤓

Her last tweet breaks my heart...

What?! Omg, this is so sad... May she rest in peace...

Yeah, I don't understand this "weaponising DS" narrative going around either. We're not in 2019 anymore.
People with this narrative usually overlook so many details and facts when explaining their point of view.

It's pretty much this why I want to raise this thread.
BHVR are listening more than they have in the past, they obviously don't blindly go along with whatever we say, but they are at least listening... the walk back on the Pig in conjunctions with her buff, the Clown rework was good (would you believe I actually like Clown now! I was wrong when I said he was weak), and Huntress changes to leave them overall in a better place was something I have to applaud them for (though Huntress was questionable). Doctors QoL improvement was also undeniably good.
Hillbilly was an absolute triumph... and what all of these reworks had in common was a guiding purpose, a particular idea fundamental to the killer playerbase that was realised. Pig had her macro game in tact, Clown had his anti loop power kept in tact, Doctor is no longer add-on dependent, Huntress is also freed up alot on her add-ons, Hillbilly is throwing out his chainsaw like the madman he always was without a care in the world.
So even if our suggestions weren't put in place, having a guiding idea made these reworks all a triumpth... and Sadako isn't quite there, but she isn't far away, a couple of stones thrown for her, and she's got it.
So if we can at least define some goals for a rework, even if what we suggest might not come to fruition, something with the right principles in mind should hopefully make Twins a Billy, not a Trickster.
Yes. I'm really grateful that they usually listen to feedback if there's an obvious backlash. I still wish they had a clearer vision and well-thought designs before stepping into their reworks.
I don't have any idea on how to improve Twins either but I hope that players like you in our community that take time out of their day to share their opinions on how Twins can be improved are heard by the devs.

Might as well disable Hawkins cuz my ass keeps teleporting between rooms 😭
-
What do any of those perks have anything to do with DS and why it was buffed?
-
Most of BHVR's "reworks" are flops I'm sorry.
They end up having to rework the "reworks".
Skull Merchant is still atrocious . Onryo is awful you either stomp or get stomped. Blight was about to be disastrous but they finally decided to listen to feedback on that one after the PTB. Twins PTB was so bad that they didn't even end up going through with it which I appreciate.
But at some point it's like how do they mess up everytime? Like didn't they have the vision to see that Twins PTB would be disliked so much and that it has the most obvious design flaws?
So at this point idek what I want because I know BHVR would screw it up to make sure it's the most unfun thing ever.😭
The only thing is it would be nice to find a way to not make slugging the only viable strategy for them.
