I don't think so but this patch is awful and we haven't gotten a bug fix patch yet.
-
Btw most of the video is about how broken the game is currently for either side and the reasons for unsportsmanlike conduct.
-
the thumbnail…😭
-
Unfortunately no.
Also the game is riddled with bugs and it feels like they're not in a hurry to fix any of them LOL. We would've usually gotten a bug fix patch already.

You’re taking my statement too literally. By that statement the point was that you can severely reduce both those perks activation occurrences if your skilled, not literal zero. The statement was said in comparison to distortion which is literal zero reductions in its activations regardless of how skilled you are. I didn’t think I needed to be that literal for the point to be delivered without getting into semantics.
And what's the amount of skill required from the Killer's side to activate aura perks like Lethal, Nowhere to Hide, Ultimate Weapon, Dissolution etc…? Spawning into match and pressing space?
So it's "skill-less" for survivors to have Distortion to protect themselves from being revealed every other minute and it's an issue but Killers deserve to know your exact location on demand without any expression of skill and it's a no-issue? That's such a double standard.

Dead hard nerfed into the ground meanwhile you still see 1-3 DH every game very bad perk do not use please. Saying killers get aura reading for "free" as well is so disingenuous you sacrifice a perk slot and have specific activation requirements.
DH is nowhere as popular anymore and you can only use it up to 2 times. So did it get nerfed? Yes, it did. So idk what the point of your argument is since the only thing I said was that it got heavily nerfed which is objectively true? I said nothing about it's pickrate.
Most aura reading is free and there isn't anything disingenuous about saying that. It's just a matter of how you define free. I define free as not a perk slot but that you don't have to achieve much to get value from it. Perks like Lethal, Nowhere to Hide, Ultimate Weapon, Dissolution etc. are free compared to perks like BBQ for example which requires you to down and hook a survivor. Hope this helps for what I meant by "free".
So in my opinion getting upset that you can't get value from your perks every single game is kinda funny. Especially when like OP if you bring all 4 perks to only do one thing: aura read. This is like demanding Plague nerfs because I only use healing perks. No, I was just being risky with my build.
-
We desperately need some bug fixes... Hope to see them soon...
-
I don't see a problem with Distortion.
Chase perks like dead hard and mft got nerfed into ground and chases last much shorter now also thanks to how small most maps are after their reworks with goofy ass unsafe pallets.
So now survivors are like "okay then I'll hide instead" and this time killers are going "NO YOU CAN'T. I DON'T WANT YOUR PERKS TO CARRY YOU DURING CHASE BUT I DON'T WANT YOU TO HIDE EITHER!". At some point killers need to pick a struggle.
There are so many killer perks that give you aura reading for free and it's always a gamble when a survivor brings Distortion. They might just waste a perk slot.
I don't understand the obsession with nerfing anything that could be useful to survivors into the ground. Survivors don't have many strong perks left anyways and the leftover meta are perks that came out years ago.
Maybe we should let survivors who prefer to hide and stealth enjoy the game a bit because they're also needed for this game to function.
-
Why would they nerf an already weak perk?

Nodding is my favorite aspect about this game. I would be devastated if it went away. I took a long break and was shocked to see that crouch head nods were removed.
Nodding is literally my favorite part too, like it's so amazing.
Sad fact: did you know Pyramid Head can't nod…

I hate that we can't nod when crouching anymore… It was too cute.

I love it when people say "worth improving" in regards of playing a trashy multiplayer game. Like it's a sport or something that actually contributes to society.
yeah like what are we improving for? people just want to play a game…😭also with the amount of bugs, lag, exploits, questionable killer designs with no counterplay and everything why does it even matter if you improved or not…

THe new skin the lullaby is very soft due to it being a deeper voice. However, you can turn on the visual heart beat and see the lullaby through that letting you the huntress is close. So i wouldn't consider it pay to win as there is a way to detect it.
No, the lullaby is fine. The problem is she isn't making any audible sound when winding up and holding a hatchet.

And they destroyed it in the process. Even if old UW was overtuned (which I disagree with), this version is still bad. Good thing Deadlock, Pain Res, Nowhere To Hide, Pop, Grim Embrace, DMS, Surge and Corrupt Intervention are going nowhere. Because we like perk variety. This is not a good change. Killing perks does not help with a stale meta.
I don't see how UW helped with "perk variety" at all. In fact, it just replaced all other info perks because it was simply better than them, causing less variety.
-
AFAIK it's limited to %100. For example, if you have We'll Make It activated and you have a Medkit, using that Medkit while healing someone else is a waste because you won't personally heal faster than %100.
-
It was the easiest info perk to get value from with the laziest activation method. I'm glad they're reworking it to activate around the locker instead of around the Killer for a certain time with the upcoming change. They finally understood what made it so busted.
-
I usually don't care much about map balance but I have to say this Haddonfield change is atrocious. It's like a slap in the face to survivor players.
You got rid of all the windows just to replace some of them with goofy ass pallets. Not even a loop. It's like a joke.
Most of the map is a deadzone with nothing going on with meaningless pallets around the very corner of the map.
The map itself is so small that you can see both ends at the same time. You gave up on immersion for the sake of "balance".
I'm glad that one busted house was taken care of and I'm all for making the map more managable for killers but that shouldn't mean giving up on survivors' enjoyment of the game.
Thanks!

Yes, I have been lagging a lot
In one match I was lagging so much that I had to pretty much give up playing, my window vault was taking like 2 seconds to complete
but pretty sure my teammates didnt like it, probably reported me for "griefing" but there was nothing I could do
I vaulted the same window 3 times and I still didn't make it to the other side.😭

Same. I'm on Steam and matches are unusually laggy and there's a lot of rubber-banding happening.

4 use pop? lol cmon now
Hahah no not like that! Something like you get less regression if you keep hooking the same survivor and more regression if you hook different survivors.
-
I would like to see Pop changed in a way that incentivizes hooking different survivors. Pain Res. and Grim Embrace are very strong and reward you for not tunneling but with Pop you can just keep tunneling and still get value.

- You completely ignore how much of the communities opinion is based around content creators, even those who aren't watching them will likely hear them sooner or later by someone blindly parroting them, i don't really watch any content creators except for a very few and i still hear a lot of others who i seriously can't be bothered to watch their videos/streams like Scott Jund for example.
- The ones defending Skull Merchant were in the extreme minority, and the claim that 3 Genning was never condemned or shamed is COMPLETELY made up by you, just see the community reception on this. Hell its mostly fixed and STILL people associate her with this to this day, proven by your post. The complaints about her 3 genning are some of the most frequent things you can find, still some of the videos with the highest view count on youtube regarding SM, BHVR gave her one of the fastest reworks ever and nerfed 3 gens after. And if your point is that a few ones who defended it were a problem then you're a hypocrit based on the first sentence of your post.
- An opinion isn't more right because its held by a group rather than an individual, thats not how anything works, its the experience and arguments that matter. If only 2-3% play against or as her enough to comfortably say they understand her mechanics than the 97% doesn't matter in any way since they are unable to give any meaningful input, its like saying someones input about treatment of diseases is just as valid as the one of a specialized doctor because he also got a human body even if he doesn't even know what what a skeleton looks like.
Why are you so defensive? Gosh, what's up with people on this forum? Did everyone here forget how to socialize? Do you realize some of us don't care that much? I just left a short random comment and you gave me a page-long analysis telling me I'm making stuff up, implying I'm lying, also calling me a hypocrite over one comment I made and a weird disease analogy. Some of you really need to take a break either from this forum or game. Sorry, I don't care that much I just wanted to leave a comment. Fine, I'll be forced to like Skull Merchant if that makes you happy and not call me names I guess. This community is doomed.
-
I respect their opinion but a popular streamer's opinion doesn't overwrite the majority of community's opinion. So presenting this as the one and only fact is funny. There were people even defending 3-Gen Merchant with their lives too. Some people loved shaming survivors for wanting to go next instead of staying stuck in a 50 minute match but somehow never judged the "strategy" of a killer keeping survivors hostage. Survivors get blamed for everything.
-
If I'm being honest Pain Res. + Pop combined together is quite ridiculous at this point.

Omg this! I keep losing but the more I lose the more lethal-pain res.-pop-coded Blights, Billys, Nurses and Weskers I get. So naturally everybody dies at around 4-5 gens anyways cause there's no way to compete that. Idk if MMR is messed up...

Sorry your free stuff didn’t meet your every expectation.
That was the answer you were able to come up with? That was more disappointing than the event.
I don't know about yours but my time isn't free. Neither is all the money I spent on this game. Thank you for trying though.

It’s annoying the offerings weren’t tested properly before release for sure. But aside from even more BP, I’m not sure what you were expecting from a DBD event. This is generally what they are and have been for quite some time (with little gameplay tweaks here and there).
"I’m not sure what you were expecting from a DBD event"
Let me answer that for you:
- I would expect the corresponding event offering to work. Sorry but I just can't pass that off as "annoying". Expecting the offering to work isn't having a high standard, it's wishing for bare minimum.
- This event was promised to be "the biggest bloodpoint event of the year". So I would also naturally expect this promise to be fulfilled. If not, they shouldn't have made that bold statement for hype.
- They basically gave up on Lunar New Year just for this and a lot of players enjoyed the culture and the gameplay elements of that event more. So I would've expected this replacement to be at least be on that level.
- It's quite obvious that the event interactions weren't well thought-out. I wouldn't have expected most event-related activities like blood zones to be only active around deadzones without gens and such.
- Having Coup is kinda fun for killer but leaving no blood and being quiet when crouching are pretty insignificant for survivor gameplay. I would've expected survivor advantage to not be so trivial.
- I expected the event interactions to be at least worth interacting with since that's how the events have always been. Going out of your way to interact with the event is a waste of time especially for survivors.
- There should've been some type of balance for the amount of bloodpoints you get as a survivor vs. killer. You're almost forced to play killer if you want to take advantage of the event. You get 4~ times more for less effort.
- The events we had during last year have been amazing so I was expecting something to get excited about.
Hope this helps!
-
So... what now? This is the event? We can't even use the event offerings. We could already always use our own BP offerings. The event is there to do what?
-
@Mandy said:
Quick question on this - is the offering consumed or is it returned to your inventory?

Yeah same, I am not seeing an appeal in playing survivor when killers are getting double what survivors get, that's crazy.
Edit: I made an account just to share this, but you did for me, thank you :)
Welcome to the forums Sable Ward LOL! Yeah, you can even get x4 times more as killer compared to a single survivor as seen on the screenshot I shared, insane! I mean it's nice because I play both roles but there must be some type of balance.
-
I don't see the appeal of playing Survivor? I'm interacting with the event as much as I can and I bring the Offering but every single time Killers are getting x2-3 times more BPs at the end meanwhile survivors are getting something close to what you could already get? Why play survivor during the event?
-
Skull Merchant

Please inform us if it's safe to play DBD!

Yeah, it's kinda crazy that you spend time on it for 120 seconds and get no BPs in return. Sounds forgotten.

Circle of healing was countered by Shattered hope that came into the game AFTER the nerfs. If it had been in the game same time when circle of healing was introduced the usage rate would have been higher.
It doesn't change the fact that just because a perk can be countered by another, that it can't be problematic. Asking people to use Calm Spirit every single game just to counter a potential UW is just as silly as asking people to use Shattered Hope just to counter CoH. That was mostly what I meant not that we should bring old CoH back LOL.
-
I can't wait for the UW nerf/rework. Those stats you pulled up don't really mean anything. UW is a perk that outclasses other info perks, has no counterplay except for Calm Spirit (LOL) and it's just another perk that only overpowers already high-tier mobility killers. Nobody cares if Trapper is running UW but Nurse and Blight mains are turning their brains off, zooming across map with it, ending games in a couple of minutes. It does too much for least amount of effort. Just open a locker and that's it, you don't have to accomplish anything like downing or hooking a survivor etc. like most info perks require you to do.

Not everything is the fault of the Survivors, I agree. Not getting even a single gen done absolutely is. It displays an overall lack of awareness that was never getting them the win regardless of what the Killer did. Tunnelling isn't even a factor at that point. It's not like they got 3 or 4 gens done and heroically fell at the final hurdle because someone was tunnelled out. It's more the case of they couldn't even find the hurdles to begin with, let alone know how to jump over them.
Or it might display an overall lack of proper match-making too LOL. I somewhat agree with what you've said but I also can't overlook the fact how easily and fast you can tunnel someone out currently and still keep the gens under control. Killers still have strong regression and block perks available but survivors got stripped from anti-tunneling perks that were actually threatening to the killer. I only play killer and solo survivor and when playing solo having 1 survivor tunneled out and still having 3-4 gens left is such a common scenario.
-
@Raconteurminator said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3678030#Comment_3678030
Pain Res. triggers once if someone is being tunnelled. There are still 3 people working on gens. It's not uncommon in an average game to lose 2 or 3 gens in the first chase. If 3 people cannot do even a single gen between them at any point during those chases, that's a legitimate skill issue on their part.
If the person being chased can't buy a single gen with every pallet available to them (with pre-dropping being as effective as it is, and likely having WoO equipped), that's also a skill issue. With that level of inactivity and lack of awareness, the Killer could have stood in the corner for a minute and still gotten a 12-hook game.
doesn't matter. 1 stack of pain res erases %25 of total progress and with pop you can keep kicking %30 current progress off and if you combine that with gen blocking perks like grim embrace and dms which is very common, it is very possible that survivors can't out-repair a tunneling killer. they might complete a gen but that doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things since 3 survivors left with 3-4 gens left is also already a lost. not everything is survivors' fault especially if killers take advantage of certain playstyles or is an experienced player.
