There's no "keeping the match alive" at that point. If you unhook your teammate and get downed in the process, that teammate is just going to get chased and downed again.
Yeah, your options can be limited after that but I don’t see how that justifies the issue. It’s still bad game design to have one interaction override another just because everything is tied to a single button. That’s not a valid excuse.😉
It’s like saying you shouldn’t be allowed to choose when to mend and should always be forced to mend first instead of interacting with what’s right in front of you. It should be the player’s choice — 'losing anyway' doesn’t justify taking that control away.🙂

99% of the time the Killer will be chasing you while you're trying to remove the axe, so why would you even want to run to the hooked Survivor?
Because there are a lot of times when you're the last one up and you're going to get downed no matter what, so unhooking your teammate becomes the only real shot at keeping the match alive — even if it means trading. It actually happens pretty often.
Also, it's just bad game design to have multiple actions share the same button and override each other. One-button interactions really mess things up in clutch situations.

THANK YOU! I am being completely honest and reasonable. Am I perfect at looping? No. Am I pretty damn good at it? Yes. I am an ever better killer but good lord. Ghoul sucks. Exactly. I didn't even talk about the other 2 points.
Don’t worry—honestly, even if you made the most perfect play, some killer-sided folks here were still going to say that it was your fault just to invalidate your opinion. It’s not about your gameplay; it’s about them not wanting to admit that the killer is flawed.☺️

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR REVERTING THIS! COLLECTING ITEMS IS FUN AGAIN! YAY! 😍

Ghoul is not comparable to Skull Merchant. Skull Merchant was an issue upon her release and after because of her Chess Merchant playstyle which could stall games for ridiculous amounts of time. Half an hour to an hour or until the server timed out. That is why people hated her, and hated going against her, but if they Dced, they would get the penalty.
The Ghoul can't do that. No killer can ever since the gen regression limit being added. The Ghoul is comparable to Wesker in the fact that both are really strong killers, really fun killers and are seen almost every game long past the new chapter hype popularity. The simplest answer is that players are just sick of playing against him, much like Blight and post nerf Wesker.
I think this says a lot more about lack of killer variety in the game which leads to fatigue. People want to play other killers, they really do, but most aren't worth playing because they're so weak. It's more frustrating trying to make a weaker killer work.
I'm not saying every killer should be as strong of Ghoul or Blight. There's just not much incentive to play other killers.

Ghoul and SM can't be compared.
1.0 SM was hated cause she could easily hold a 3 gen setup for unacceptably long times and the so called free hits from her which I thought was crap.
Legion has to run up to you could juke or pallet stun him so there's counter play there. SM there's the very obvious drones scanning the area tagged 3 times get injured. Can easily avoid the drones by not moving for a moment or crouching or avoiding the beams. She's was easy to deal with and I've seen a lot of players just being careless running into them and complain about it when there plenty of counter play.
And there's Ghoul all he needs is line of sight with very little counter play that's available other than breaking line of sight. Haven't found a means of properly dealing with him so can't say much.
To be clear, I’m not comparing the Ghoul to the Skull Merchant in terms of gameplay or power — that’s not the point I was making. What I’m comparing is how the majority of players react to the two killers, like the "it’s not fun to go against" or "I want to go next" type of experience. The way people react to them is the comparison, not their abilities or strength in the game.

Interesting that you’re not interested in my observations, yet took the time to respond directly to them. I’ve been part of this forum long enough to know that respectful discussion used to be the norm — it’s a shame when that gets replaced by smug dismissal. If spreading toxicity is all you’re here for, maybe take a second to reflect on what kind of contribution that actually is.

Now, are you guys still pointing your hate at this much nerfed killer?

I'm just sharing my observations about people's behavior against The Ghoul. No idea why you're taking it personally.🤭 -

It will stay at 5 million until the Bulk Bloodpoint spending feature has been implemented as shown on the QoL Roadmap, then we will re-evaluate at that point.
You're definitely not going to lose the Bloodpoints you've earnt.

Please reconsider this change! It made the game so boring…
-
What a disappointing change. I'm not sure who thought this was necessary, but collecting as many items as possible with my P100 was one of the few fun incentives left. There really isn’t much else that makes having a P100 feel rewarding. Games are supposed to be fun—please consider reverting this change.
-
I wanted to bring this up again. I really think it deserves an update, especially with the upcoming Quality of Life improvements.
I saw a moderator mention that it was "intended" game design—but just because it's intentional doesn't mean it's good game design!

The initially reported bug is fixed but you broke something else that wasn't broken before. Honestly, I'm impressed how we have to wait for a simple fix to happen for months only for it to introduce another bug LOL.
The back of the skirt is broken now. It looks really bad and glitches out especially when downed and crawling. Please let someone who understands UE5 physics to handle this.
⭕️ Check the pictures below. This is patch 8.3.0.

why are killer queues so fast then, even with the fact there is no BP bonus?
Mine aren't fast. I usually wait for a couple of minutes. Must vary depending on region.
-
Same. I never seen the BP bonus for killers for a very long time in my region. Might be because of all the balance changes that make playing killer a better experience.

Some here, the game takes pretty long to start up and during the first couple of minutes I am plaguedby slowdowns and lags and even the character models oy load in slowly and sluggishly.
After I wait for a while in the menues or after the first match it gets better, but it's still a slog and 100% started after the Castle Castlevania update. At first I thought that I had too many taps open (always true for me), but that wasn't the problem.
Hi Akuma! Hope you've been well.
Yes, it's the same. I can visually see my game choking on start up and it lags so much. Once I'm in lobby textures take some time to load and the game freezes when selecting different models but after playing some games it's back to "normal".
-
It still takes ages to start up and the textures load slow until I play a couple of games. Same problem for my friend ever since Castlevania. 😕

a p100 does not necessarily have more skill than a p3 - I have plenty of high prestiges, does my skill change if I play a new character who's P3? No it doesn't.
Tunnelling out players and dodging lobbies purely because they have a high prestige character isn't something we wish to see happen - hence why hiding prestige was such a highly requested feature because players have become tired of not being able to play their favourite character who they've dedicated a lot of bloodpoints to.
Our Development team does not "pick sides" - they look at the game overall and see what areas need improvement.
Thank you so much. 🙏🏻 This change is very appreciated for the game's health.

P100 doesn't even mean anything nowadays cuz even new (500h-1000h) players can have up to 2 P100 characters so whatever.
Why do you care if it's removed if you don't think it means anything?

UPDATE 8.0.0
✅ [ FIXED ] Default Skirts : The seams don't appear anymore. The physics can be improved though since her legs come out when crouching and running. This wasn't an issue before UE5.
✅ [ FIXED ] Grand Moment + Sporty Stature + Outstay : The texture errors have been fixed.
✅ [ FIXED ] Celestial Cats : Clipping issue is fixed.
✅ [ FIXED ] Rio V + Professional Shirt : The gap issue is fixed.
❌ [ NOT FIXED ] Tinted Sunglasses : The glasses are still opaque and she's balding.
I'm actually quite surprised with the amount of fixes. I'm so glad I reported them!

HOW IS THE DND JEFF OUTFIT NOT LINKED BUT THE OTHERS STILL ARE???? AGAIN, PLEASE UNLINK THE ORIGINAL COSMETICS LIKE YOU SAID YOU WOULD BHVR!!! Or make people purchase them as a set and then allow then to mix and match, idc… it's just so disappointing and unbelievable that this is still a problem. I refuse to let this thread die, especially when people like Gabriel continue to get ######### cosmetics while his best one is linked for no reason (which was PROVEN when the bug allowed people to mix and match his fire moon outfit and it worked flawlessly).
YES! As last resort, sell outfits as linked then let us mix and match if money is the only problem… The upcoming anniversary mask for Yun-Jin uses the hair from the original post… which is just another evidence of why we don't need it to be linked at this point LOL.

I never played a single "normal" match since Chaos Shuffle

No but I'm having an easy time as Blight for sure… LOL

killers in this century?!?!

everyone hates me…😭

I think they just assume that the Killer has Lethal Pursuer anyways LOL.

Gen regression undoes the survivors primary objective. Survivors have spent time repairing a gen to near completion, and that progress is rolled back because they didn't reach the threshold of completing the gen.
Sabotage undoes the killers primary objective. The killer has spent time chasing, downing and carrying a survivor to a hook, and that progress is rolled back because they didn't reach the threshold of completing the hook.
For the record, flashy/pallet saves, DS, etc. are all in the same boat. You can compare them to how there are also various ways of undoing gen progress.
@SkeletalElite said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3718603#Comment_3718603
because the survivors objective is to repair gens and hte killers objective is to hook survivors, it is the main thing they must do to achieve their win condition.
Sabo/flashlight plays to prevent the killer from getting hooks is the exact same as regressing/stalling generators to prevent survivors from completing it. Repeatedly getting pallet slammed with background player pallet/flashbang saves or having your hooks saboed is basically the same thing as repeatedly having your nearly completed gen having its progress annihilated by pop and pain res. Of course these perks don't totally reset its progress unless they get used many many times, but pallet saves and sabo saves don't fully heal a survivor either and one gen is a much greater ratio of survivors total objective than one hook as well.
Ohh now I understand it better. Thank you for explaining it to me!

@Seraphor said:
The funny thing is sabotage is the survivor equivalent of stacking gen regression, which they're trying to nerf...
How? I'm not disagreeing or anything but trying to understand how those 2 are comparable or related to eachother at all.
