I've never seen anything like this & the only time her shards glowed that I saw was a video that I stared at zoomed in at for 16 seconds. Some of her skins don't even do this.
Just her default does this I’m guessing? Because she’s showing the most skin?

Some people really do have issues with adapting. I, myself can admit that the new Freddy was hard for me to adapt to. I used to hate going against him so much but now it’s so much more clear but still not my favorite Killer to go against.
If it wasn’t for my friends giving my viable strats/info on how his new kit works I would’ve probably never gotten better against him. I even bought him, just to learn him from the Killers POV and that helped as well. Wish people would dedicate time into playing the Killer they have the most issues with instead of demanding nerfs. I promise it helps a lot.

In my opinion, spirit is unfun to face because, when she slaps on Stridor, there's no reliable counter to her. Everyone always says to run Iron Will but that doesn't work when she has stridor. They say to use Spine Chill but whilst solo, I now apparently need to run Kindred, Detecitve's, Iron Will, and Spine Chill. So much for build diversity. She moves no grass, you can't hear footsteps (sound bugs don't just affect killers) and the only time I've seen shards glow is after staring a zoomed in youtube video for 16 seconds. My eyesight is scuffed as ######### and I could barely even see it then. If your counter to a specific killer is to run a perk and say it's not an issue then I guess just run Pop and gen speeds aren't an issue anymore.
In a chase it's just a guess. That's it. There's no mindgaming, no tricking with stain or anything like that. It's a guess. And it's not even a fair guess- the chances of you getting it right are like the chances of landing a coinflip, except you need to land it on its side, with 3nm into your pinky finger, mid-blink, after doing a perfect triple backflip from standing, with the face of the Queen facing towards the sun as it's covered by the moon in an unanticapated solar eclipse. If I wanted to play a game with those types of odds I'd go to a casino.
And from my own experience she isn't even that fun to play. Mained her for 2 months & play her when someone in chat decides they wanna see a Spirit game but she really isn't that fun to play. Slap on Stridor, phase, win, repeat. It doesn't feel like survivors get an input and it doesn't feel that much fun for killers. At least I have fun playing and facing Freddy.
It's not that I don't like strong killers- Billy, Nurse, Freddy, and Huntress are some of my absolute favourites to face and if you try telling me they ain't strong then yikes. I just find Spirit so dull it'd actually be more entertaining to go AFK, whip out my old DS and try a Pokemon Nuzlocke.
Tl;dr - I don't like playing or facing her, I find her mindnumbingly dull, and if I wanted to play with odds I'd go to a casino.
EDIT: because people have said before that im clearly a survivor main because claudette is my profile i feel like i should clarify im a red rank killer & i stream on twitch, mostly killer, so you can judge for yourself how i play.
I can understand the odds of guessing correctly where she is going to come from. Some may find that annoying/aggravating but to me that’s the fun part being in a chase with her in my opinion. I love being “jump scared” and freaking out not knowing where she is or where she plans on coming from (idk, I’m weird).
Also, (of course I wouldn’t know this unless I had a memory card for a brain) I’m not sure if I’ve went up against a lot of Spirits with Stridor (which I believe is a Nurses perk that enhances the audio of Survivors breathing?) but does Stridor work so well that it cancels out her slight phasing noise when playing with her? Idk, like you, I played Spirit on a bunch of different occasions but I’m absolutely horrendous with her so I don’t play her a lot anymore unless of course I have a ritual to do on her behalf.

I agree, I am by all means a killer "main" at heart but for example yesterday all I played was survivor. My goal is to have 2k hours, 1k in each side, right now at 1700 with over 1k hours as killer. I want 1k hours as survivor. Despite me preferring role of killer, I play a tremendous amount of surv.
Same. Like at this very moment I’m on DBD dedicating some playtime to Hag, although I’m 95% a Survivor player. It’s good to look at things from both sides of the spectrum and I’m glad you’re also like that. 💜

Its honestly getting old to me, not just Killer witch-hunting, but perk witch-hunting from both sides as well. Don’t get me wrong, if something is super unbalanced then yes rework it. Most of the time it’s just complaints from either a Killer or Survivor who has a bad game before coming to the forums demanding unnecessary nerfs.

And also, yes. Doesn’t help that every Killer that brings a Mori is more than likely playing the “tunnel off the hook then kill game”. Hurts my soul knowing that we can both benefit and get WAYYY more points by playing a regular casual game. I’d even allow a Killer to kill me, I just want points.

I don’t see them doing this in the future. The Devs don’t want to punish SWF by heightening their queue times. Also, not every SWF group treat the game like a bully simulator so not all of them should be punished just for being in a group with friends and enjoying the game.

Based off of being reported for bad sportsmanship, abusive chat, or cheating (with proof, of course) you got put into this server called the “Salt Mines” where you and all the other toxic players can pretty much indulge in toxicity with each other and leave others alone.

I agree, even though I’ve personally gotten toxicity from both sides. Getting that behavior from Killers is HIGHLY rare. It’s a common thing amongst Survivors though when I play Killer.

I think a lot of people just have boring/negative lives and exert that energy onto others because they’re not happy. Others are just fed negative energy by being egged on and think it’s cool to be toxic/bullies. Its quite sad and I really hope they get progress and overcome this behavior.

Its super aggravating when it’s outside of DBD because that doesn’t ban them from playing the game and/or stop them from doing it to others. A close friend of mine got a screenshot of his IP and I believe city/state posted into his message with a threat. This behavior is not okay, and quite dangerous if it’s the wrong person getting a hold of this information. I’m sorry you had to experience that. 💜

Trust me, people will go off their way to spread their salt, especially if they are group players, due to mob mentality and probably low Intelligence, they are more prone to doing that.

It is really nothing special when it comes to online gaming.
I hope you flagged/reported them. That behavior is disgusting.

Ignoring someone, let alone a GROUP of people is impossible when they find you on other platforms that have nothing to do with the game and harass you, threaten you & bully you.
The whole point of this thread was for me to rant. Irregardless of “if I care” not, it shouldn’t happen in the first place. If anything, the Killer shouldn’t be the one told to “get over it and move onto the next game” in this case; the Survivor should.
Also, I really don’t entertain the fact that these people are “just kids.” There are grown 20-30+ players dispensing this behavior as well (my harasser was a grown a** man, I saw his rl picture.) Don’t excuse what they do by saying they’re just “zoomed kids” because that’s more than likely NEVER the case.

Always played games, board games then PC Games with a bit of console thrown in - a bit of a tech nerd and love building computers. I hate cold weather and rain with a passion (not ideal when you live in the UK), am obsessed with travelling and find staying in one place difficult and have travelled a lot in life.
Really loved playing the old Tomb Raider games, which were the ones that probably got me into gaming the most am not much of an FPS player cos I have really bad aim! Favourite console game is Heavy Rain, I absolutely loved that game. I tend to enjoy a lot of story based games though.

DBD is currently my Main Game, before I played a lot of World of Tanks. I am too ######### for real Shooters, lol. Other than that, I enjoy From Software-games or Indie Games, also looking forward to Amnesia: Rebirth. But in general, I play few games, but a lot.
I am not that much into Horror in general, at least when it comes to movies. Watched Horrer Movies when I was younger (mostly stuff like Nightmare on Elm Street or Friday the 13th), but currently not really into this. In general, if I watch a TV Series it takes quite some time for me to start, but if I like it, I watch it pretty quick.
I am working as a Volunteer for the Yu-Gi-Oh Trading Card Game and attend tournaments around Europe for it. Not currently, obviously, but in general I enjoy it, because I can meet a lot of friends I only see at those events (from Germany and Europe in general). My highlight would be the year 2018, because I got invited to go to Tokyo and also took part in an Event in Melbourne. I am not that much of a player anymore, but at some point I want to get back to this.
Also enjoying good food, but again, not really a possibility currently. Sure, we can go to restaurants here in Germany, but I rather dont take any unneccessary risks.
I have 3 cats, 14 and 4 year old and a younger cat which is 9 months old.
