Didn’t the devs say recently in a QnA that they dislike camping and are adding measures against it?
Devs also said that killers shouldn´t feel forced to use gen slowdown perks and that those slowdown perks shouldn´t stack.
Yet, the last 4 killers all came with 1 or 2 slowdown perks.
So i´m not really sure where they are going with the statement and their actions.

If there are more than 1 yes I do. If theres one there is no point haha. Besides when I play killer having a survivor camping a gen is a pro cause I know they’re bound to come back, they cant help it, so more often than not survivors camping a gen is a guaranteed hit at least. Why would that be a bad thing? U patrol, u chase, u put pressure elsewhere then comeback to that gen
Then why do you consider camping killers bad? Following your logic, survivors get a guaranteed protection hit.

Theres 5 in total. If theres only one left why would i? Its common sense like ???
There are 8 in total. 5 is the amount of gens survivors have to repair in order to power the gates.
So again, why not go for the fresh gen?

what? Bro what else will survivors do if not gens? Thats their objective lmao killers objective is SurvivorS, plural, not the one on the hook like ??? Whats ur point
Oh i love this logic! Survivors objetive are genS. So why not leave that 90% gen alone and go for a fresh one?

If anything, learning and tolerating killer has extremely positive effects on your mental health. You will be far less frustrated when you deal with lunatics in the real world because of all your practice in the video game. Pogchamp.
My mental health improved by playing survivor or something else. Killer just becomes less and less appealing. Which is ironic, if you consider that this is the main attaction of the game.

A bad perk for a bad mechanic.
You seem to be under the assumption that just because its 'intended' means its good or okay.
Its not. If its intended, its horrible game design that is actively unfun and rewards the killer for doing absolutely nothing while forcing survivors to go into dangerous situations.
If it isn't intended, then its a terrible exploit that has been neglected for years.
Both of these options are garbage.
You seem under the assumption, that i support camping. But honestly, as far as complaints go, if the killer is on the map, then hes "camping". At least thats what most camping complaints can be boiled down to.
Survivors camp just as much as killers do. But when killers do it, then its scummy.
You tell me. If there is a gen at 90% and regressing. Do you leave it or do you wait for the killer to leave, so you can complete it?

Are you forreal?
BT is used ALOT because of the very complaint the OP just mentioned. Literally the campers are making BT meta more than ever because it is more frequent than not.
Survivors who farm with BT are bound to go down sooner than those who safely unhook without. Any rational human being player understands this.
This is why killers who do not camp don’t need to deal with BT or DS. Rendering those perks useless.
Oh the irony, killers that don´t camp are the ones to get most likely hit with DS during the endgame. Since DS then becomes a guaranteed free escape. Especially with BT.
BT gets used on killers that don´t camp, by survivors that don´t give the killer even a chance to leave the hook. The unhooked survivor then tries to body block the savior. So the killer either hits the unhooked survivor or doesn´t get a hit at all.
Have you never played with good survivors or what?
-
@DY86 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2939188#Comment_2939188
If I HAVE to go every match with BT its not “META” its a crutch, its bad game design. No survivor should enter a match thinking “oh boy what if this Killer face camp the whole game that one survivor”. And no Killer should go thinking “oh man, am I gonna get bullied by some SWF today?”. These only represent things that must change bro.
As i said, those perks are meta. No one forces survivors to use them. Yet, everyone uses them. Not because they are scared of face campers. Just because they allow for save rescues no matter what.
-
@Rezblaze said:

Bull.
I just facecamped after I got smoked in a match and ended up with a 3k. One dead, then I facecamped another to oblivion and got a grab on the obsession. Only one escaped.
If this is intended as a game mechanic, this is by far the worst mechanic to be in a multiplayer game.
What camping (and tunneling for that matter) is, is a side effect of two things:
A) Nothing preventing me from doing that and playing as scummy and gross as possible.
B) Matches and map design necessitating or forcing the killer in a position where camping is the only option if you want a kill.
If its not intended, then explain Insidious. A perk that has absolute no usuage as to camp something without getting detected.

@DY86 said:

Yes. But does it solve the actual functional face camp as you said it did? No
Why not? You can unhook, the unhooked survivor gets protected by BT and DS. Which are both meta perks and omnipresent in every match. So its not like survivors would have to adapt their build or something.
-
@DY86 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2939165#Comment_2939165
Really? Bro face camping is face camping if it was or was not considered that beacause of a technicality or terminology doesn’t change what it is. Therefore it was not fixed as you said
But you do realize, that unhooking a survivor is now possible. Doesn´t matter where the killer stands, its still possible, yes?
-
@Pulsar said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2939159#Comment_2939159
The literal definiton has, the functional definiton has not.
You could not be reasonably expected to save someone in the olden days against a facecamper, that is still true today especially against certain Killers.
It would benefit us all if we could find a solution.
But survivors have the tools to rescue a teammate against a face camping killer. Its even possible against Bubba (even though really hard to pull off). I´ve seen it with my own eyes.
-
@DY86 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2939159#Comment_2939159
How so? Cause I seen it happen many times. And thats just today
Originally, face camping was the killer stand in a fixed position in front of the hook. Which wouldn´t survivors allow to unhook, because there wouldn´t appear the "hold m1 to unhook" promt.
This changed with the introduction of swivel hooks. Survivors could unhook from every angle (ironically, killers still can only hook from the fixed angle).
Face camping was solved with this. Now the term refers to the killer being withing terror radius distance.
-
@Pulsar said:
Facecamping should be removed.
Unfortunately, nobody has found a good way to do it in the last 6 years.
I find it hilarious how face camping was fixed years ago and then people just changed the definition of it.

Don´t enjoy playing survivor and getting camped? Just switch to killer and make the difference!
I wish you a lot of success!

no game ever has made camping a mechanic bro lol if camping was supposed to be a mechanic bloodlust wouldn’t be a thing. Besides u missed the point. Im talking about the experience, theres no fun in just bullying the killer w BT and leaving without a single chase like ??? Empty win
Welcome to DbD then.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SS3DvvOQI04 -
The survivor role is more relaxing, less stressful and more rewarding than the killer role. Killer mains that switched to survivor have always been like "wow, this is so much better, why haven´t i done this before?!"
Strangely it was never like this the other way around.

@Raptorrotas said:
Damn if only we could hold survivors to that standard.
"Dont sit on that gen for 400/12 seconds, friggin camper".
Suevivors are way worse campers than killers and will ever be.
If the killer does it = toxic and preventing the survivors from having fun.
If the survivors do it = what else are we supposed to do?!
No wonder the devs are have been spamming us with gen slowdown perks for over a year.
-
Camping has been a intended game mechanic from the very beginning. Nothing changed in that regard.
The only thing that changed, was how efficient survivors became with doing gens. Losing 2 or 3 gens during the first chase isn't uncommon. So the killer feels like he has to camp in order to secure 1 kill.
Just equip BT and go for the rescue or finish the last gens and get out.

Even that isn't as simple as you make it out to be. Playing DBD well and communicating several vital pieces of information about the location of several things to 3 other people at once over VC are two very different skillsets.
Most of my SWF games sound like this:
"Killers by the shack."
"What? I'm in the shack."
"No I mean the other shack, the building not the killer shack."
"You should have said killer shack."
"Well it's still a shack."
"Killer shack is a specific thing."
"Killer's left me."
"Yeah thanks that was about 30s too late because you two were arguing about what to call the shack, now I'm dead."
"Don't bring the killer to me!"
"I didn't know you were there!"
This sounds extremely different from the SWF matches i had with randoms on the official discord.
Those were like:
"i have adrenaline, just 99% the last gen and be prepared to finish it"
"got the killer on my back, running toward the watertower"
"nah, we are at the watertower. Take him somewhere else"
"okay then i´ll need someone to take a protection hit"
"on my way"

Not really, because most 3-4 man SWFs are not a problem for most Killer players.
The Survivors dont become godlike just because they play with their friends.
On one hand i agree with you. Survivors don´t get skilled just because they play with their friends. Someone who is a potatoe alone, will most likely be a potatoe while playing with his friends.
However, a 4 man SWF has the advantage of giving everyone Bond, Empathy, OoO, Alert, Dark Sense, Kindred, Detectives Hunch, and a couple more perks for free. Simply because the whole team will know at all times where the killer is, what he´s doing, where totems or Traps are, etc. Which is a undenyable advantage. Even for potatoes. A little coordination can make all the difference. Say, the chased survivor has Adrenaline and the other survivors wait to finish the last gen. Not hard to pull off, but it can have a big impact.
-
I wouldn´t be opposed to a general perk slot increasement for both sides. The 4 perk limit was fitting for the small amount of perks that we got back at the release. But now we have 7 pages of skills, so increasing it sound reasonable.
Maybe do a test run first. Like 1 week with 5 or 6 perk slots unlocked for everyone and look how that goes. (chaos ensured)
-
Honestly, locked sets are a "no buy" reason for me. Their loss, since mixing some cosmetics would be awesome.

But that seems more broken to both sides? Why not just fix the run animation hit box, least newer players won’t have to guess where the invisible hit box is when a player is running
You would have to ask this the devs. But its probably due to the spaguetti code. So adapting the hit boxes sounds easier than it would actually be.
-
@t0007319 said:
Shouldn’t the hit box change with the running animation like any other game or am I missing something obvious?
Watching that video makes it seem more broken to me haha, again I might be missing something obvious here, but surely it should change based on character stance / animation?
I know height wise it’ll stay the same for fairness but crikey it seems like they missed a trick there.
Why should it? Its not a first person shooter. The hitbox benefits survivors as much as killers. It all depens on how you play. 360ing a killer wouldn´t be possible otherwise.
-
Hit boxes are not broken. They are simply the same when injured as they are if at full health. Despite the different looking animation. Now a hatched would miss a headshot, but if aiming slightly behind it would hit.
Edit: this video explains it.

You can't hide vs a Legion, sees your aura all the time, also you can't prevent being injured. He destroys pallets very fast or just vaults them.
He requires a red addon to destroy pallets faster then other killers. Him vaulting pallets it kinda his power. You know, that he only gets a notification of where you are, while: he is in frenzy, you´re inside his terror radius and you are not in deep wound status.

Well yes, but his power can be a little harder to understand for newer players. Which will then get stomped.

After the first 6 months of playing Killers after playing only Survivor for 6 months. I noticed in a Tru3's vid that he constantly M1 while carrying survivor, I was like "is he cheating?"
Turned out its a perk on Legion, which I dont have (I only have Spirit, Freddy, Plague) , so I dont even know it existed despite playing Killer for half a year.
Its not about "main", its just the grind is insane that affect players who has less than a year of playing.
Never said something about "mains". Not reading the perks/addons in the aftermatch can happen to everyone.

I have no clue how that happened tbh...don't suppose you have the logs of that match do you?

Yeah I get it no one mains twins, just since the tome came into play this seems to be a more prevalent issue, I mean they have a challenge that's literally chasing after hoarder activates, but let's be honest who's gonna chase with M1 charlotte over here.
You don´t need to play twins for the hoarder challenge. So far i haven´t been matched against twins. At least not in the last 3 or 4 months.

To be fair, while Mending itself didn’t change, the chance Legion can get multiple hits in a single Frenzy was noticeably improved so they’re getting more Deep Wounds per Frenzy use now.
It just feels like the low rank days against Legion. You know? Back when he was nerfed and people still got mutliple mendings, because they all stacked together and got hit by him?
I´ll give him a week before survivors start to spread out and won´t get affected by mending anymore.

It's honestly sad how little survivors will read the description of the killer's power, addons, or perks. The amount of times I tell someone in end game chat who is accusing me of cheating that the thing is right in the killer power description (something they can check on the end game screen) and they double down on that I'm cheating is too high.
When i play Pinhead and i down someone who is injured but chained in the exit area. They instantly acuse me of cheating, because i had no blood warden. Hell Pinhead even has a voice line for that exact situation and they still don´t get it.
-
I like to watch a certain streamer who regularly gets accused of being a cheater, simply because he combines undetectable addons (like wodden fox) with Starstruck. Often he addes IG, Agitation and Mad Grit. Which results in very confused survivors. Since they don´t read the perk/addon description, they assume he´s a cheater.
-
If you hit constantly great skill checks, then its over a second faster. If you just hit the normal skill checks, then its slightly faster then spamming A/D

No we're not. I see Billy at 65. Even at red ranks he's at 75, not 80. Though change to grades pretty much makes it an apples-to-shoes comparison anyway (i.e. no accurate comparison can be drawn).
And just for the record, even if there was an 80 percent kill rate for Billy and it dropped to 50 percent, that's totally fine as it should be closer to 50 percent than 80. This game would suffer mightily if any killer had an 80 percent kill rate.
The issue is just, that with 50% kill rate, no killer stays in red ranks. Also the 50% aimed kill rate seems to appear more from here 1k next match 3k, then 0k, then 4k, etc.
Also, the higher kill rate 2 years ago, certainly didn´t change the survivor role popularity and neither did the "nerf killer" threads decrease since then.

Thats the point.
