But killer IS harder than survivor. Killer carries the whole weight of the match alone, while survivors split their duties. So per definition, killer is and will always be the harder role.

Everybody knows that more variety is a good thing, but the different gameplay that allows for more variety still needs to be fun, or people won't care about the higher variety. Simple as that.
What isn´t fun about jump scares from unexpected traps?
Just because survivors have to use the ctrl button for something else than showing their appreciation of the killer, doesn´t mean that it isn´t fun to crouch.

Thats why they had to give incentives to play Survivor... because Killer queues just after "The Patch-ening" I was sitting for an upwards of a half hour in North America at 6pm with Crossplay ON. I don't understand your logic thinking people aren't playing Killer more. More Killers = Less Survivor pool = Longer Killer Queue Time.
Since the incentives it has drastically dropped thankfully. However, Killer queues are currently still too long during non-peak times. Anything beyond 1-2 minutes for a Multiplayer Online game literally loses casual players. BHVR needs those casual buyers.
The incentives aren´t survivor exclusive. They are there to increase the amount of players for the currently most demanded role. Killers can also get the 100% bonus, when there are not enough killers.
I repeat, you need 4 survivors and 1 killer per match. Per definition, there are more survivor players than killers.
-
Why didn´t they use Mobile version skins? Everyone would have been happy.

If there are more ppl playing surv than killer why are the incentives a permanent 100% on the survivor side?
Because you need 4 survivor and 1 killer for a match?
If there were more people playing killer than survivor, then killers would have a queue of an hour or more.
-
But... there are more people playing survivor than killer.
Also, your idea would force people to play the "meta" survivor instead of the one they like.

I am not going to try and explain why exactly people do not like going against Hag. In my case, it's probably just that chases against her are very boring, because you either trigger a trap, and get hit, or not, and get chased by a 110 movement killer. And in particular because she is such a camping master
Hag is not very beloved, simple as that. And I have no idea how survivors not enjoying holding w is an argument that they should actually enjoy going against Hag? Not even sure how that is related?
I´m not going to try and explain how more variety, killers, strategies, different approaches, etc are a good thing.
Or how doing the same thing over and over becomes stale and boring.

Yes, survivors actually got a lot of tools to counter it. And why did survivors get those tools, especially the basekit one, you might ask?
Camping has always been a problem, is a problem and will probably be a problem in the future. The developers can only do so much to prevent it. Basekit BT is a good start.
Its a intended game mechanic from the very start of developement.
-
Its not like survivors got a ton of tools (some even basekit) to combat camping or something like that...
-
All Hex perks are trash. Losing easily a complete perk for the rest of the match should warrant extremely powerful perks (risk vs reward). However, all but 1 hex perk are mediocre at best.
The whole way Hex perks work needs to be reworked.
-
So you want to get instantly kicked out, when the server or the killer lags?
Doesn´t sound abusable at all...
-
Current version is stronger than the previous version. So of course its still meta.

Right?!? Killers should take notes from survivors and just do the objective the easy way.
I remember a time, where killers played like this: constantly being afk or not participating at all. Survivors were not happy.
So i´m not sure if you really want that behavior back.

One is doing the objective and the other one not.

I believe they were speaking of the base kit BT. That being said, I do sometimes challenge those brave enough to approach with the opportunity to save if they can avoid the grab. It is the most engaging part of face camping, in my opinion. If you can call something so obvious an opinion, that is. I mean, not like I can do much else besides swing my hammer at them.
Killer doesn´t even has to camp to get a grab. Just a survivor who instantly runs to the hook, either with the killer chasing him or by not giving the killer an oportunity to leave the hook.

If it were up to me, I would buff it to always plant a mine after 5 seconds of gen progress. Muahahaha. This community thinks Behavior is bad at balance, but they cannot even comprehend the monstrosity that I would make this game. Bully squads everywhere would stack Blast Mine. Killers would become afraid of generators in my ideal world.
Lightborn and you´ll always know where the blast mine user is.

It makes sense that BM was nerfed this hard, it had nearly a 100% pickrate and even the initials spell out bad manners. It was just so toxic as the killer to lose games because every gen I kicked was a BM. Do you have any idea how unfun it is to be stunned for half the match?
To be fair. It was a hilariously fun perk. Not much more. Since it didn´t give any rescues or so. It really shouldn´t have been nerfed.

Well, you either run around the rock three times and drop pallet or hold W. Both are brain dead strategies but somehow 80% of player base can't even do that. So 🤷♂️
Balancing around bad players has never and will never be a good idea.
Otherwise Nurse would be in for a heavy buff. Because bad players drag her kill rate down into the abyss.

And yet chases are the most fun part of this game. If you consider that running around a rock then why are you playing the game? There are gen skill checks sims online!
But is it though? Chasing is fun, but if you ask a tunneled survivor he probably won´t agree. Same goes for a 110% movement speed killer who is running around a rock. Its utterly boring.

Oh, killer-mains here already :)
Thats a weird way to introduce yourself. But ok. Who am i to judge?
Anyway, Ingame Voice chat is the only thing that can bring Solos to SWF levels. Everything else has failed so far, so why not try the voice chat for once? And yes, i´m sitting in europe, i´m aware that there might be issues with the language barrier. But that could be simply circumveited by adding a "preferred language" option. With several checkboxes.
-
When I have CoH equipped and desperately search for a totem, only to find broken ones. Then yes.
When I'm not using CoH, then absolutely not.
-
Whenever I read a complaint about boring killers, I instantly have to think about how interesting running in circles around a rock feels.
-
His pick rate is already dropping.
Give him another week and you'll see him once every 10 matches.
-
The basekit BT was a pretty huge buff for survivors. Unless you want a buff for solos only. Which by default isn't possible. Simply because every buff ultimately also benefits SWF.
-
According to steam charts, the playerbase has been increasing since 6.1.0.

Honestly? I think the survivors that instantly dc/suicide at first down/hook for no reason at all, should think about taking a break. They´re obviously not enjoying the game and ruin it for everyone else.

I´d love to have some overweight characters.

Rework idea: make them a coop killer.
-
I mean, killers had BBQ. Which gave them a reason to leave the hook and go for someone else. Buuuut some people claimed that killers camp n tunnel anyway and that BBQ should go.
Well guess what.

If the killer is truly on the other side of the map, then hook suicide is very unlikely to happen. Because the teammates would just unhook the survivor before the hooked person misses the 2nd skill check. That's not to say that occasionally you won't be running up as they fail that 2nd skill check. But in most of my games (both as killer and survivor), if the killer leaves the hook; typically a survivor runs up and rescues. Often there are 2 already waiting to bomb the hook.
No one joins the game to just DC/suicide. They're usually expecting to play an engaging round.
It happens quite a lot. Even when someone reaches before they are dead. There usually isn´t enough time to prevent them from getting into second stage. So even if the killer attempts to play fair by 2 hooking everyone before going for death hook, there is a chance that he´ll hook the survivor who attempted to suicide. Because he has no way to see how often he hooked each survivor. Which is especially complicated when they were matching outfits.

3v1 because survivor suicides; 3v1 because the killer camps/tunnels. Objective or not, both actions can ruin the game from the remaining 3.
My main killer is Nemi. I've run Eruption, Jolt, Oppression, and BBQ since the first RE DLC (Billy was my main before that). I typically hook 2 times and let the survivors go. But during this time I patrol my 4-gen, breaking chase early (usually after 1 whip-hit), and keep the survivors on their toes. My perks helping to create a sense of hopelessness.
I've only had 2 DCs on Nemi that I can remember. Both of which were at the start of the match. I've NEVER had a hook suicide. But the games went on and the other 3 survivors escaped. DCs did not ruin the game for the others. Because I had direct control of that in the way I played.
BHVR gave killers the ability to set the tone for a match. My favorite survivor match was with a Myers years ago that seemed to always get the jump on us. He appeared out of nowhere; scared the heck out of us; hooked us all at least once; then let us go. There is a way to play that is tense & fun for all involved. But you cannot play selfishly as killer and then chide survivors for playing selfishly in turn.
Its a multiplayer game. Survivors can just set the pace of the game as killers do. Its ok, that you only want to play against new players, by always letting them go and ensuring that your mmr rating keeps low. But more experienced survivors are perfectly capable of setting the pace of the game.
Suiciding just ruins the game for everyone involved. There is no excuse for that. You claim that its justified, because the killer plays scummy and you want to get out. But how would the killer play scummy, if the survivor already attempts to suicide on the very first hook, while the killer is leaving? I´ve seen this way to often. While i´m on my way to unhook, how the killer is at the other end of the map and yet... my teammate tries to suicide.
There simply is no excuse. Either play the game normally or don´t ready up for a match.
-
Best i can do is another skin we already have.

Doing the objective isn´t ruining the game.

Yes, occasionally as killer I get a "gg EZ" from survivors. Just like occasionally as survivor I see "gg EZ" from the killer. There are trash talkers on both sides. It's no excuse to use your developer given power role to play like a jerk.
Sure it's your right, but so is hook suiciding to get to the next game faster.
With the difference, that you ruin the game for everyone else.

If that's the end result either way, why waste 15-20 minutes letting some clown (pun intended) work out their aggression on you. Send them back to the queue and hope for a more responsible killer in the next game.
Do you really think, that someone who plays killer has an aggression problem?
Getting someone more responsible who gets rewarded with a gg ez noob killer, pls uninstall after the game? Because there might be a reason, why we see so few of those...

Doesnt matter if killer queue is 10, 5 or 1 minutes, if he is going to hard tunnel at 5 gens, i dont bother, i just suicide on hook and let him enjoy the mmr bump and the subsequential sweaties he deserves
And high ping beneficts killers, so yeah, not a free win, but almost. Otherwise why people gets stupid hits out of hitbox sometimes? try to juke a huntress with high ping LOL
Also keep in mind i am talking about specific scenarios, which are 10%(?) of my matches
You forget a tiny little detail. You also drop your own mmr. Where your teammates spend half the match self caring with sloppy in the corner of the map and ignoring Kindred, even when its clear that the hook is safe.
Condemning yourself to elo hell doesn´t sound like a good idea.

This is not the intention of incentives. The intention of incentives is to reduce Queue Times for the role which gets picked more. Which is Killer.
If you would add incentives to certain Killers just to have them appear more often in the games, you will most likely increase the queue times for all Killer players.
Why not both? Say, for example 150% bloodpoints for survivors, when there are not enough survivors and 50% for playing a specific killer.

It's five hooks were you do not double hook anyone. Where would that be unachievable, exactly?
That would require that the killer doesn´t tunnel.
Impossible!

Hook a survivor different from the one you hooked last time. Do this 4 times in one game.

Okay. Right now, killer seems to be instant for me. The incentives really work. I have to admit, that i doubted that giving players bonus bloodpoints would solve queue issues. But i stand corrected.

yes because people don't understand that tunneling is not the most effective strategy yet
Correct.

One could argue that asking killers to apply pressure is equal to asking them to tunnel. Since playing only against 3 survivors applies a ton of pressure.
So are you sure, you don´t prefer killers taking slowdown perks instead?
