  • What didn´t made sense to me was increasing gen speed, while nerfing gen slowdown perks and then adding a perk that buffs repair speed.

Its like one step forward and two steps back.

Dude, come on. It's fine if you do not agree with many people that Hag is unfun to go against. I even support that. Killers will always be subjective, so even the less popular killers still have people that like them very much, even when going against them. It's something that also should always be kept in mind if such killers ever receive changes.

But your attempts to ridicule people that do not enjoy going against certain killers are getting a bit laughable. The fact you have to slow ass croutch towards a survivor on hook is one of the reasons she has her camping potential. Yes, if survivors can time it right, they might get an unhook right when she has a good distance to the hooked survivor. If they don't, well because survivors move so slowly towards the hooked survivor, that already gives her more time to go away and then back to the hooked survivor.

But even if you time the unhook perfectly, Hag gets a notification, and you and the other survivor have to crouch away from the hook, slow ass once again, or you trigger the trapper, allowing her to teleport right on top of you. Which gives her good time to just go back to the hook.

And before you say that isn't camping, whatever. It has the similar effect of camping a hooked survivor because they can get back to the hooked survivor much easier, and then tunnel them much easier.

I´m not trying to ridicule you or anyone who doesn´t agree with me. Its just that there once was a time, where Urban Evasion was meta. People used it to hide from the killer instead of just running in circles.

Urban Evasion is the perfect counter to Hag. But i understand that not everyone wants to run this perk, since Hag is such a rare sight.

Triggering the traps disarms them. So the best advice to make a unhook save is, to run in (guns blazing) and trigger every possible trap, only to run out again, with the Hag behind. While someone else gets the now safe unhook.

Because the game is still glorified peer to peer. All game logic is handled on the client pretty much.

I was never a fan of turning the game from p2p into server sided. Simply, because it was never designed to be that way.

Best approach would have been to start something from scratch. Say DbD 2 and allow people transfer their progress from the old game.

Because people who make video games don’t understand simple http security. They need to hire a security team that knows what it’s doing.

It sounds like it. They really need to step up their game before the hacking issue hurts the game seriously. People already started suspecting anything that looks even remotely weird for being a hack. So even when someone uses legit perks/addons he gets accused. Thats the stuff for witchhunts.

It's not because of BBQ, lol. Those strategies were made even stronger because of the survivor nerfs and killer buffs. Killers are gonna play scummy until it's no longer rewarded as much as it currently is. They need to punish those things a lot more.

I mean, inbuild BT with speed bonus that stacks on top with normal BT is a pretty neat survivor buff.

Punishing people for playing will never work. Only rewarding people for playing in a desired way works. Devs took the reward for leaving the hook away and the amount of camping increased. Its not like people said that this exact thing would happen.

I don't find her fun because she is a camping god and because to me, her chases aren't very interesting or interactive. The counterplay to her is to not run into a trap, which you can not control a lot, and then she is just a 110% M1 killer, which is beyond boring, because that part poses no challenge what so ever.

I wouldn't be surprised if many other people disliked her for the same or similar reasons. But it does seem like a majority of the community just doesn't enjoy going agains her. That's simply how it is. So I don't think she is the type of killer people would be happy to verse more often.

    Wait... you can´t control crouching?

  • People usually complain when a killer runs 4 slowdown perks and how thats boring.

But when a killer runs a wacky build, that is completely different...

  • I remember when darkest Moonlight offerings were a thing and you could hide as ninja claudette right in front of the killer and he wouldn´t see you.

  • Remember when killers said, that removing the BBQ incentive would increase camping and survivors went on like "lul, killers can´t camp any more than they do now!"?

    Yeah about that...

Ragequitting is definitely annoying. For instance, I don’t play survivor very often but I happened to play last night. One of the other survivors disconnected on their first or second down. Note that the killer wasn’t facecamping or anything of the sort, they lost quit out of the blue because they were mad they got downed. In fact, later, with two of us left we managed to finish the last two gens against the killer because the killer made some misplays in chases against the other survivor (not me, I stink, but I managed to keep my distance from him and split the gens so we weren’t in a 3 gen situation). Had that quitter stuck it out we probably would have had a three or four person escape, as it is I was the only one who got out after we finished both of the last gens.

Quitting is also annoying when I’m the killer, it really puts the opponents in a bad spot and if I win the match puts an annoying asterisk of “but if that person had stuck around would I still have won?”

Yes, its extremely annoying for both sides. I´ve seen it so often, how we could have turned it into a win, if that one survivor wouldn´t have suicided on the first hook. Ruining the game for everyone else.

Yeah this kinda catched me off guard. Especially since i didn´t ask for free escapes. I just provided a solution for struggling killers buuuut our community is kinda... weird.

If a killer is being toxic to you it's your fault - You apparently

I don't dc, and very rarely suicide on first hook, I dont teabag, I mostly solo. I dont bring items, my build consists of mostly solo q perks (kindred, bond, lithe and prove thyself), yet killers keep hitting me on hook, nodding, being rude in end game chat.

Can you explain how any of that is my fault now?

Aaaaand where did i draw this conclusion?

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3196523#Comment_3196523

Damn so basically mmr is the problem. Again. 😶‍🌫️

To be fair, its not the mmr fault, that people reacted to the 6.1.0 patch by rage quitting.

My advise to the struggling killers would be, to let the clearly superior survivors go. Don´t force a kill with camping/tunneling/NOED and prepare for quite some 0 or 1k matches. Until the mmr normalized.

Or and that would probably the easier fix, as many people can be stubborn. Make a global mmr rating reset. A fresh start for everyone.

  • This has a very simple explanation. 6.1.0 has caused a lot and i mean a LOT of survivors to rage quit/suicide on first hook. Now they got moved to a lower mmr bracked and so did their teammates. While the killer got moved to a higher mmr bracked. Thats the reason, why you encounter boosted killers. That don´t actually belong to that mmr bracked and struggle to stay there.

What does a killer that struggles do? He resorts to the most basic (or scummy) tactics. Which is camping&tunneling.

Solution for that issue? It will take time until the mmr fixes itself and everyone goes back to his own mmr bracket. Until then, we get wild matches like this.

  • @kizuati said:

Here's some food for thought - is tunneling easier than ever?

Now that DS is dead, even with the introduction of baseline BT now that killers lose infinitely less distance on hitting the survivor, especially with the extreme usage of STBFL.

Off The Record was insane on the PTB, but as it got to live it became..quite worthless. What does it do?

If you're tunneled immediately, nothing. If you're not tunneled, probably nothing, unless you're a coordinated SWF. Is that not terrible design?

I've never seen quite so much tunneling as post 6.1.0. A big DS buff is in order.

    Not really.

I think DS should be reversed to 5 seconds. But apart from that it isn´t really dead.

    How is OtR worthless?

What i see more, is people trying to get a body block hit with basekit BT active. Which then could result in the killer capitalizing on that. Does that make tunneling easier?

  • @Grandpa_Crack_Pipe said:

I don't know about the rest of you, but I actually have a VERY easy to exploit guilty conscience, and if someone DCs 30 seconds into a match after I down them for making a dumb mistake?

I feel bad! I can't kill them anymore, i'd be worse than a murderer-- a jerk. I HAVE to let them go at that point. And that takes time!

So please cut it the hell out. For my sake. I don't want to queue up for another 5 minutes only to bump into the least committed player in DbD for the third time today.

Finally something i can agree on with you!

Yeah, the rage quitting has been rampant and i think that it not only ruins the match for everyone else in the match. But that it also results in a heavy mmr shift. Where people are moved to mmr ratings, they don´t belong to.

The rage quitting needs to stop.

You haven't addressed the lack of variety. I've already said that Myers has more game changing stuff with his addons, but outside those couple of addons that do change how Myers play, the rest of his addons are just the same thing with different values.

I'm not wasting my time with you anymore, because it's very clear you have no desire to actually read my point.

3 completely different playstyles are variety. More variety than just some percentage increases/decreases of abilities that most killers have. I really don´t get the point you´re trying to make, when i look at more recent killers with 3 addons of different colors, that just increase base stuff. Thats not variety for me. Whenever i play against a recent killer, i don´t go trying to figure out, what addons he might have equipped. Playing against Myers, that would be vital information.

Anyway, i wish you a lovely evening.

  • @Crowman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3195441#Comment_3195441

You need actually read what I wrote. I never said that other killers have more addons that completely changed their gameplay to the extent of Myers. Just that Myers actual variety between his addons is bad. Myers has a handful of addons that do the exact same thing, but with different values plus the mirror addons (though no on runs vanity) and his two iris.

Most other killers have brown and yellows to be the minor buffs to basekit addons then green addons and above start to be more diverse. There's a couple of killers that have lesser variety than Myers like Wraith whose addons are largely unchanged since he came out back when addon diversity was not really a thing.

So no list of killers that aren´t from 2018 then? Let me quote myself.

    @Tsulan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3195376#Comment_3195376

His addons allow for 3 different playstyles.

    1. that allows faster stalking/longer tier 3
    2. that allows to kill
    3. that allows to wall hack.

Thats more than more recent killers like Nemesus have.

    Maybe read that again.

  • @Crowman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3195428#Comment_3195428

That's not even remotely true with other killers anymore. A lot of killer addons now inflict status effects, give aura reading, or even act as a mini perk. There's very few killers who majority of addons are just % increases to their base power since even greens are more unique addons now. I think you just need to pull yourself out of the year 2018 where that was true.

Not to mention your complain about how other killer addons only provide increases to their power is the exact same thing with Myers except he has a couple of addons like scratched mirror and tombstone that do something else.

Can you name a couple killers from the last 12 months, that have addons which completely change the way they play? Instead of just changing timers on something?

  • @Crowman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3195409#Comment_3195409

Myers has more game changing addons, but his variety sucks

In fact I would even go far to say that Myers has the worst addon variety compared to most killers. Older killers like Trapper and Billy got addon passes that diversified their addon pools. New killers come with diversified addon pools.

His addons allow for vastly different approaches/change completely how he plays.

Other killers addons give more ability uses/faster reload or charges/some useless stuff.

  • @Crowman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3195165#Comment_3195165

Myer's really doesn't have addon variety. You can say he has more addons that can completely change how he plays which is a far more fair assessment.

His only viable addons are Infinite T3, Faster Stalk, and Tomestone Piece. Maybe you'll see someone use a duration addon instead of Infinite T3, maybe you'll encounter a scratched mirror myers, and maybe once in a blue moon you'll encounter someone actually using Judith + Infinite T3.

But as far as variety goes, it's basically non-existent since he is from old killer addon design that is higher rarity addon is just a lower rarity addon with higher numbers.

His addons allow for 3 different playstyles.

    1. that allows faster stalking/longer tier 3
    2. that allows to kill
    3. that allows to wall hack.

Thats more than more recent killers like Nemesus have.

Add-ons aside, yes he plays relatively normal at tier 3 having a 32m TR, but that's fair for what he's compensated. Outside of tier 3, survivors have to pay attention for his presence when tier 1 is pure stealth and tier 2 being pseudo stealth with a deceptive 16m TR. Basic attack only killer sure, but it's his hinderance to awareness that is his strongest ability on top of everything else imo.

Having to pay attention is no reason for a nerf. Especially considering, that he isn´t A tier.

    @Sonzaishinai said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3195165#Comment_3195165

That's my biggest issue with the tombstone piece, someone had to feed him. That someone doesn't have to be you

If it only allowed Myers to mori people who are fully stalked it would fix most of the issues

Your second argument doesn't really make sense. Millions are playing this game. Your personal experience does not reflect the game on a whole. It happens regulary enough for people to make threads about it atleast

And even if it is super rare. Imagine if there is a random chance that you can spawn in as killer and all gens are instantly fixed or you spawn in as survivor on the hook in second stage and it can only happen once a month per player.

Would that be fine? It's only once a month

Ironically 2 weeks ago, i had a match against a hacker. All 5 gens were completed and a survivor escaped through the gate before my Lethal Pursuer finished. Was it annoying? Meh. I farmed a bit in the 2 minutes of the endgame collapse. But i didn´t feel the urge to open a thread about it. Actually i rarely open threads.

My issue with the nerf request is, that the devs won´t nerf only that one addon. They would give him a complete rework and considering how they did reworks in the past... i´d rather not have them change him.

You could argue with such add-ons and the lowest base Terror Radius in the game, The Shape is one of the more efficient non-mobility killers in the roster.

His tier 3 terror radius is normal.

Personally, i love going against a Jump Scare Myers on indoor maps. Simply, because thats one of the few occasions, where the game feels like a horror game.

Does that makes him efficient? Depends on how he wants to play.

Myers is among the weakest killers

His addon is among the strongest though

What other addon allows you to kill a survivor that you haven't even seen all game untill that point

His addons also require a fair amount of time to charge up. Aka someone who feeds him.

Are his addons strong? Absolutely! And i wish we had more killers with a addon variety like Myers.

In regard, if that addon needs to be toned down. There don´t seem to be particuarly many Myers out there, insta killing survivors. At least i can´t remember the last time, i´ve faced one. What i see however, are a lot of players with varying nicknames that ask to be moried by Myers.

So is it really an issue, if you get that once or twice per year?

The VAST majority of DC's I see are on 2nd and 3rd hook.

These people want to play and have fun. When they find out that isn't really what DBD is about, they quit

The vast majority of suicides on hook i see, happen on the first hook at 4 or 5 gens.

These people don´t want to play and have fun. They just want to ruin the game for everyone else.

  • @Pulsar said:

I'm sorry but I'm not getting held hostage again.

Also, look man, I'm against DC's on first hook but when it's a slugging agi starstruck nurse, I am gonna seriously consider whether or not it's worth it to play DBD at all. They can play the game however they want and I can find something more worth my time to play.

Ultimately, when the majority of people DC, they're just gonna move on to a different game that they feel is more worth their time investment. You'll have the tryhard SWF's DC for Hatch and this'll hurt them, but it's not gonna do anything against most of the people who DC.

Almost every time I see someone who DC's on Xbox and I check their profile, they've usually either already turned off their Xbox or moved to a different game.

But most rage quits happen with no apparent reason at all. Apart from getting downed first. At least from what i´ve seen in my matches. Sure, there are exceptions, but we need a solution for this kind of behavior, that ruins the game for everyone else.

Majority of players that dc/suicide/rage quit going for a different game, isn´t something i would consider a bad thing. We don´t need toxic players.

  • Is Myers suddenly considered OP or something? Wasn´t he among the weaker killers?

  • @Gaboozle said:

There's no way new player can mind game like crazy. Their gameplay doesn't look like a new player to me. Sometimes i also looped the killer for a while and still, my teammates are self-caring in the corned (solo-queue thing ig). But yes i gotta admit, there's still a lot for me to learn

Don´t worry. We had a lot of people suicide on their first hook after the 6.1.0 patch. Which resulted in a lot of people getting dragged down to a much lower mmr than they actually belong to. Simply because a 3vs1 at 5 gens is almost impossible. It will take a good amount of time until the mmr stabilizes again and everyone gets fair matches. Right now its pretty wild.

  • @WipeIncGamingYT said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/347000/unpopular-opinion-its-no-wonder-some-killers-resort-to-camping-tunelling

Thank you for sharing your experience.

It is an old issue: if a killer is weaker than the survivors, the survivors start to bully the killer, being toxic without end. If survivors are weaker than the killer, they start to thrash talk him in after game chat and start complaining and whining in this forum. "Ohh, I can not bully nurse or blight, nurse and blight OP and need a nerf".

Thats exactly whats happening. Killers get bullied, then take that out on the next group, which in turn take that out on the next weak killer and so on. Thats why seasoned nurses don´t show much mercy. Since they got fed up learning nurse and getting ridiculed by survivors during the process.

A viscious circle only few try to break.

Originally the sbmmr aimed to avoid that. But it seems there is little left of that. As its still impossible to learn nurse/any new killer, while you have a decently high mmr = lots of frustration.

  • Twins have the lowest pick rate. So adapting all twins skins for the 2 twins mains out there, doesn´t seem like a logic step for bhvr.

With that being said, i´m all in for giving Victor more unique looks. The last tome with the pirate outfit, would have been so nice if they´d give him a pirate hat too.

  • This sounds more like a skill issue.

EDIT: for clarification. Killers only playing with 1 perk is most likely a new player. Which means, they are also most likely facing new players/low mmr players.

  • Why buff it? Its still the most used survivor perk.

  • Damn, i thought no one would notice, that i took DH away.

  • You wanna know whats even worse? All those teammates that suicided on first hook after the 6.1.0 release. They dragged their teammates down with them. So now an incredible high amount of decent players is considered bad by the mmr.

In other words, they played themselves.

  • Just equip Kindred and watch in awe, how your teammates ignore it.

Making it basekit, won´t solve the issue of bad teammates being bad.

Um... Yeah? Who said they were exclusive? How did you deduce my train of thought leading to these being Survivor Only exclusives?

The match making incentives were one of the first suggestions i gave to BHVR, about 3 months before these forums were finalized and it was still solely on steam. I'm fully well aware of how they work. I've been here a while, just not in an official capacity to post on the forums, because up until recently I haven't had much to say.

For the last 3 months i've been shopping for PC parts, waiting to ship, etc etc. so i've been unable to play. So I opted to watch Streams. Not just here in north america. i branched out to all parts of the planet, both small and large streamers. From what I've seen, i have to base my judgement. In other words, "IME".

Survivors clearly have the BP Incentive buff far more often than Killer, regardless of the time of day. However, plenty of times does this shift because people want Blood points.. so it does what its supposed to. Its balancing.

Right now, Survivors constantly getting the incentive means the Killer role is over populated. I'm not quite sure what you are missing.. Why do you think Killer Queue times aren't instant anymore? Survivors went either to playing Killer or just stopped playing all together. This is the 2nd or 3rd time BHVR has created a patch that has caused a "Survivor Exodus". I said it would happen too. Stats prove it too with Survivors having a 39% survival rate.

I also predicted more Survivors leaving SoloQ™ and getting into SWFs, meaning even harder games for newer Killers, on top of people tanking their MMR on purpose. You think the game is in an excellent spot too? 85% of their Fog Whisperers complain, on stream, "this sucks".

You´re missing a third option that would make the most sense. Since the playerbase increased after the 6.1.0 update, there just returned more killer players. That doesn´t mean, that every survivor switched of left. As you need 4 times as much survivor players than killer players.

Devs stating, that the bonus bloodpoint incentive lowered the queue for both sides and a top amount of 5 minutes for killers. My killer queues have been around instant to 2 minutes since the incentive. Which is more than acceptable.

You say, you are a long time player. Then you should remember the Hallowed Blight event where killer queues skyrocket to 30-45 minutes. Back then we had more people playing killer, because at the start of the event, every player had to play both sides equally, to get the event currency to unlock the skins. Which increased the killer population so heavily, that they had to change the event in order to allow both sides to get all event coins.

The Hallowed Blight was an Event in Dead by Daylight () that lasted from 19 October to 2 November 2018. It kicked off the in-game celebrations in honour of Halloween 2018. The Hallowed Blight is a Halloween-themed version of the Scorching Summer BBQ Event. It was teased by the The Hallowed Blight Teaser on the Developers' Instagram on 1 October 2018 and another Teaser on 9 October 2018. The Event added a considerable amount of new Lore to the Game regarding The Entity () , Benedict Baker and Vig

We are not seeing this now. If there were really more people playing killer than survivor, the forum would be full of complaint threads and you´d watch streamers play Pong, while waiting in a queue.

  • Depends how you define winning. It wasn´t to bad. Escaping also wasn´t the main goal, since sometimes one of us would go back and die in an attempt to rescue someone else instead of just leaving.

Every single attempt to bring solos on SWF information levels, has ultemately also buffed SWF.

The Undying notification uppon approaching a dull totem. Shows up for the solo, but the SWF team also gets informed about Undying in play. Ruin notification = everyone in the team gets told there is Ruin.

A basekit Kindred would optimize SWF even further. While only having minor impact on solos (which often like to ignore Kindred).

You dont nerf SWF. You buff Killers once solo queue is brought up to the baseline. Simple as that.

Every buff to solos, is also a buff to SWF.

While the kill rates might look decent, you have to consider that low rank survivors have a abysmal low escape rate. Partly, because new survivors don´t know what to do. The tutorial is a good start, but we need the bot mode to be able to train as/against every single killer with a choice of addons and ingame hints on what is happening now.

In my experience the vast majority of players doing challenges will only go out of their way to do a challenge if the game is already won or lost.

I'm happy I don't get matched with players you get matched with. I almost never see this sabatoge, and at least on my region d/c's almost never happen.

I've seen you use this argument a lot, but I don't get it at all. I don't watch NA or EU streams very much, but if I do, I don't see players acting as you say, either. Certainly not enough to warrant any significant drop in percentages for kill rate/survival rate.

Some very simple challenges, like repairing gens in coop, or heal so many health states. Took me way longer than necessary. Simply, because some of my teammates were doing some other challenges and were not interested at all in doing the objective. I´ve seen someone with a streamer mode run away from me (while i was injured), running repeatedly into a locker and then complain in the endgame chat. Because he needed to do some other challenge.

Honestly, the devs could almost completely avoid the issue with the challenges. By allowing people to equip several challenges at the same time + giving people the oportunity to see what challenges everyone has equipped in the lobby.

I think you just read the thread title and didnt read into it much further.

The thread goes into how 6.1.0 was a bad solution to Killer pain points and overly buffs some Killers and is too bad on solo queue.

I instead suggested different Killer Buffs/Survivor nerfs that in my opinion would be more healthy.

Oh i agree that the 6.1.0 patch was suboptimal. On one hand, gen times were increased. While on the other, all meta slowdown perks were nerfed hard. This in contribution with the buff to gen repair perks resulted in gens getting done even faster by high skill survivors, while also hurting low skill survivors, that can´t complete their objective.

But that doesn´t mean that killer should be more stressful. First of all, survivor has been always a walk in the park. Even solo. Simply, because doing gens or totems isn´t stressful at all. Sure, there are tight chases that can be stressful, but those usually get interrupted by calm moments. Because, as i said. The killer carries the whole match on his shoulders, while survivors distribute the workload.

Also, nerfing Nurse is a double edged sword. Since she has the lowest kill rate of all killers. Sure, high skilled nurses are very strong, but so are high skilled SWF squads. Which have a 15% higher escape rate. If you nerf one, you would also have to nerf the other. But how do you nerf SWF without nerfing solos or punishing people for playing with their friends?

  • Nemesus? His addons do nothing and need a complete overhaul.

Yes? I've said that in my post and that we shouldn't aim to make it the same difficulty. What's your point?

That you want to make it harder for killers. The "arguments" you used to justify it, like players capitalizing on errors or making mistakes, could also be applied to survivors making mistakes.

Even more with challenges. Where every solo survivor has a different objective, that might be totally counterproductive. Or do you think that a survivor that has to spend 120 seconds next to the killer, without getting caught. Or using SC and escaping, or escape through the hatch contribute to the overall teamplay? Challenges is what sabotages teamplay. Salty players, that suicide/dc is what sabotages teamplay. That doesn´t mean that killer has to become harder.
