I honestly feel like some just don’t keep up with patch notes. Some people just play the game without giving a damn about the next update especially mid chapters since they have little content
At least that would explain why BBQ is still so popular.
-
Everywhere i see people cherrish that the dc penalty is gone and i really have to ask: Do you enjoy those real short matches? When a teammate or the killer dcs because of the slightest inconvenience?

I don’t even think they can change self care in a way where it won’t be the most popular perk
Inner healing is literally free to all players yet people still use SC over it
Yeah i really wonder why no one uses Inner Stregth with OtR. You get the full heal and still have the OtR protection until you touch something.
Or CoH + Botany. For really fast heals. Sometimes i don´t understand this community.

Failed hard?
Before the patch, you would regularly have lobbies with DH, DS, UB, IW and BT taking 14 of the 16 possible perk slot.
Now, IW is pretty much non existant, BT is rare, DS/UB are used sometimes, and only DH managed to stay on top.
I see way more varied perk builds now compared to before.
I think we have different lobbies. I still see DS, UB and DH. Usually between 2 or 3 of each.
That you don´t see BT when its basically basekit isn´t really a surprise, is it?

SC is such a waste of a perk slot, why do survivors still run that??
Maybe because it doesn´t require finding a totem or teammate. The people that still use it might take the time to find someone else into account.
-
Considering how the 6.1.0 patch aimed to shake up the meta, i´d say it failed and hard. SC and DH still the 2 most used survivor perks. For how many years in a row?

You can probably figure out the most played by counting the number of skins they have haha.
Damn it... just noticed your answer. A couple minutes to late.

@Phasmamain said:
I’d be pretty curious about survivor pick rates. Obviously it doesn’t matter since they are just skins but it would be cool to see who the least and most played are
Judging from the amount of skins released. I´d say Feng is the most played survivor followed by Dwight.
Since it only makes sense to make so many skins for popular survivors.
-
The official kill rates don´t agree with you.

Oh wow. Forum killers should really stop sealclubbing potatoes and go up against kill teams, didn't have a single DC and I played the big three (Nurse, Blight and Spirit) both yesterday and today.
Could you show me the trigger to switch between those 2, please?
-
Only when they also buff Nurse. Obviously

61% kill rate? Ok hahaha
You know what 61% kill rate means, yes?
2 kills would be 50% kill rate and 3 kills 75% kill rate. So 61% kill rate means that a killer gets between 2 and 3 kills per match. Being closer to 2 kills than 3.
-
Can´t wait for the "nerf Onryo and buff Nurse" threads. Thats going to be the new meme!
-
Not according to the official stats.

I have played many many hours the past 3 days. No issues with DC'ing. Sometimes a random team mate DCs as soon as he heard 1St blink. No problem. Sometimes someone DCs when I play killer. But rarely. Still no problem. I rather take these few DCs (which is also a lot of crashing) than being held hostage by Cheaters.
So in what ratio would you set getting held hostage by cheaters vs someone disconnecting?
-
There wasn´t a question mark in the message you are refering to.
Anyway, would you like it, if you coulnd´t play a full match. Because someone always disconnects?
-
Leaving the being unlucky apart. I really think the event offerings and event addons/items should have separate chances/identifiers in the bloodweb.
Killers get more event offering while survivors have to split the things in the bloodweb through offerings, addons and items. Doesn´t sound fair.

Just imagine it would be officially announced!
Right now it is only the fraction that uses forums and the ones that noticed it.
I would argue that maybe half or less of all players know it right now. (I could be wrong since i don't use social media and don't know if it has made waves there already)
No one would be able to finish a game normally. One of the 2 sides would dc for the smallest inconvenience.
There is a reason why we had the penalty in the first place.
-
Solo has become unplayable, because everyone disconnects for no reason at all and people praise this.
Sometimes i´m not sure if they are sarcastic or not.
-
Now imagine how "fun" the game would be, if they turned the dc penalty permanently off.
You could get maybe a full match once in a 100 tries.
-
Penalties are off. So people abuse it ad nauseum.
Now imagine for a second, that the devs would turn the dc penalty off permanently. Game would become unplayable. As everyone would constantly dc whenever they encounter something they don´t enjoy.

It wouldn't work - unless you have Blizzard money to spend, it's not going to be possible to moderate. And unmoderated voicechat in a PvP game is never a good idea.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3229923#Comment_3229923
The last time I played a game with unmoderated voicechat, one person was reading Mein Kampf, one person was playing an air-horn at random intervals, one person was yelling incoherently and one person was about 10.
The language barriers are the least of the problems here.
That sounds like a weird coincidence. You won´t see that kind of group very often. Also, you could just mute the others. Like other games do.

I think its because the less Survivor playing made the MMR bracket so wide it doesnt matter anymore, dataminers already found the softcap is very low and when there are queues it broadens the pool a lot to shorten them so now it just picks wathever is there.
This was happening already before 6.1 but now is even more noticeable because queues increased.
Do you have any number of "less" survivors playing? Like real numbers? Just because there is a 100% bonus there, doesn´t mean that everyone suddenly stopped playing survivor.

Maybe against mediocre nurses which can be more or less countered by simple changes of direction while they are charging a blind, playing against a decent nurse is a pain in the ass and not fun at all.
Oh i like decent nurses. A real challenge! Depending on the map, some true mindgame potential.
Acording to her kill rates, there are far more mediocre nurse out there than good ones though, So whats the issue? Maybe it has to do something with the amount of people that instantly dc when they hear her screach? Because thats a different issue, isn´t it?

Except that OP also said the game would be balanced around voice communication to be base. The experience would get worse for those not using voice comms and they are already the ones that are struggling the most in this game
But they are struggling for different reasons. Number one, being teammates that ruin the match for everyone else by suiciding/disconnecting. Voice chat won´t solve this. As we need different mechanics to solve impede this behaviour.
Fact is, that SWF are far more efficient than solos and there is no way to simply balance around both things. As they can´t simply punish people for playing with their friends. They also can´t simply provide buffs to solos. As said buffs will also improve SWF gameplay. Separating SWF from solo matches also doesn´t work. Since no killer would match up for a nightmarish experience. So the only thing left is giving solos the same thing as SWF. Which is voice chat.
-
Interesting. The same people that after the 6.1.0 patch claimed that DH is dead, suddenly think its fine.
Meta completely changed for killers but didn´t change for survivors. Which indicates that either killer perks got hit harder or that survivor perks were more busted from the beginning.

This would mess with matchmaking if you don't speak the language of the region you're in well enough to use comms in it (Expats and tourists aren't exactly rare), would be pretty unfair to have to play with 200+ ping instead of 30-50 just because you don't speak the language.
Communication would need to be language agnostic through either a ping system or premade phrases that could be localized for specific languages (e.g. "Going for the save", "Killer on me", "On a gen", etc.)
Then just add "i don´t want to speak with the Manager" as the checkbox and the people that don´t want to have voice chat, can simply play without it. Nothing would change for them.
-
I think the really high amount of survivors that suicided/disconnected since 6.1.0 and the resulting stomp match just made every survivor lose mmr points. Like a lot of mmr points.
-
@Bot_Salvo88 said:
That would work... if everyone spoke the same language.
Just add a "preferred language" checkbox in the options menu. People get matched with people that have matching decisions.
-
I always say gg. Doesn´t matter how the game goes. Its just a game after all.
Seeing a gg on the other hand can be rare. Sometimes i even see the killer giving hatch and not receive a gg or thx.
-
Some people are just plain toxic. Streamer mode seems to have made this even worse. Since you can´t see their profile to dodge them before the match.
-
Playing both roles but mainly survivor (yeah, i know its hard to believe).
-
Good bye take care! Wish you all the best!
Tschüss, wünsch dir alles gute für die Zukunft!

Self Care is apparently super popular in Asia, but I’m not sure that the perk is actually still literally the most used perk, the dev stats that had it in the top 3 included a period where there was an active tome challenge to play as survivor using only Self Care and nothing else which I think spiked its numbers that month. On Nightlight it’s around the #12 top perk or so, which is probably close to where it stands outside Asia since that site is mostly users in English speaking countries. So popular but maybe not top five. 🤷♂️
Yeah asia has really a complete different meta than the rest of the world. Makes you wonder who might be right here.

Nothing more motivating than having We´ll make it and the teammate runs away to SC in the corner on the map, while being affected by Sloppy.

Because it's a crutch perk for solo/newbie survivors. It was never meta because it was good, it was meta because it was necessary.
Even the figures BHVR shared showed that it was disproportionately used at lower MMR brackets.
All the nerf did was force those people to run Botany Knowledge as well, costing them a perk slot and making them even weaker.
Or stand in the corner of the map while 4 gens get finished.

SC was gone? Still the number 1 most used survivor perk.

I mean it killed SoloQ completely and the playerbase keeps on plummeting and plummeting, but I'm sure there are ten million console players online at any given time of day.
You sure bout that? Cause i haven´t noticed any issues as solo. Well apart from the amount of suicides/disconnects.
Even more, yesterday evening killers got the 100% bonus points.

i think people are more upset that you "steal" energy from the survivor when they get downed. but honestly not that bad
just the usual people being more toxic and trying there hardest to not let the other side get there reward
And survivors "steal" energy from the killer, when they hit him with a pallet.
Sounds fair for both sides.

Some slowdown perks got trashed, but others got big buffs, like Eruption. The 4 slowdown meta hasn't really changed.
Maybe, just maybe and hear me out here.
Killers still don´t feel confident enough to play without slowdown. Because gens can still go to fast against good survivors.

tell me…why aren’t u guys reworking her already shes been a problem for years every game against nurse people dc or suicide on hook shes ruining the fun that should be a top 5 priority i‘ll gladly have a delayed chapter if it means nurse is getting reworked
Careful what you wish for. She still has one of the lowest kill rates. Despite the fact that so many people disconnect/suicide against her.
-
Why not? I also like going against Nurse.

To be fair. Both sides kinda play scummy right now. Like they do in every event. Already seen a couple bully squads that switched to 4 flashlights at the last second.

I laughed, but the OP is not wrong. This event...is a little cruel to survivors for a variety of reasons.
Events are like this. Like, i remember other events that were cruel for killers. Sometimes i wonder if its intentionally.
-
Yeah the pop ups really vanish to fast. They just stay a couple of seconds. Thats something that needs to be changed.
-
Ok thats a first timer. Survivors complaining about gen rushing.
-
Yeah had this happen today on my second match in Midwich. Wasn´t even a good nurse.

longer gen times means camping is stronger. shorter dash time means its easier to tunnel. Off the record and borrowed time are easy to tunnel through due to built in save the best for last stacks and shorter dash times. And decisive strike is basically worthless unless you are on a stun the killer challenge or the killer picks you up in a strong loop
make sense?
Meta slowdown perks have been nuked. Making gens effectivly the same speed as before (or even faster, if you consider the buffed survivor gen perks).
Short dash time is countered by the inbuild speed bonus after a unhook. The fact that BT even stacks on it makes it kinda ridiculous that its considered to be easier to tunnel now, than before with no protection at all. Furthermore, i see a lot of survivors attempting to body block with the inbuild BT.
OtR took the place of DS. Giving a longer protection time. But i agree that DS could use 2 more seconds of stun time.
