Yay. Another survivor hiding the entire game so they can say, "GG EZ."
I hate when people do this it's honestly annoying. Theres a difference to being stealthy and useless you know? Why would you hide when the killer isnt near you. DO GENS. Everyone likes to throw around stealth means useless when it simply isnt true

Agreed

Killer shouldn't be add-on dependent, he need some buffs
I agree with @Pipefish. I dont think he is add on reliant either. Hes a pretty decent killer. Pig is more add on reliant and her stall is based on rng that can only become worthwhile with her add ons

This just sounds like a constant annoyance to have when you play survivor. Interesting idea tho

so im a new player and I was playing against GF. I was running him in shack and I was on the inside while he was on the outside with a wall between us. I could tell he was trying to expose me through the cracks so I made sure I looked at him. All of a sudden boom! I'm exposed.
Is this just part of his ability?
As a survicor is there anyway to counter this? Besides trying to hide or run away. Can I run up to the crack and try and expose him or is he not exposable through cracks?
Just asking thanks
Yea it's annoying. The only area it affects me is the shack but they are getting rid of the cracks when they update the graphics so this shouldn't be that big of a problem anymore

Unless his trap is clipped under the ground, how visable do you want these traps? It's kinda unfair if you can see his traps 5m away so you just run around it.
There is a difference between hidden and invisible. There are plently of good hidden traps that you won't see unless your right next to it. But its not fair to have them invisible and you just happen to step in it because it was underneath the ground and looked like it wasnt there.

I could care less about invisible traps, how about we not report it and let the devs work on more important things or the next hotfix is gonna have patched traps but then they'll be like we didnt have time to fix sh1t that matters like auras or flashlights or MMR. Long list of bugs atm and traps not important.
Just because somebody reports something doesn't mean it will take full priority.

no he is weak. All his traps should invisible. Maybe survivors think trapper will be scary
Tbh I find trappers presence scary. I avoid shack unless I know for sure that all his traps are dismantled there. Trapper is one of the only killers for me that make me scared for where I go because 1 wrong step and its over.

So Hag is camping basement places traps all around, you rush in to save your teammate but then all the traps pop up at once and you go down because your camera went all over the place. Any tips for this since you don’t have time to flashlight the traps or crouch.
best I can say is go for the save when she is going after another survivor far away, but even safer, go for the save if she is carrying somebody else since she can't teleport. Other then that? you gonna have to crouch your way down. Try not to get downed near basement

I actually prefer those add ons way more.
Look at Oni. Extra duration and speed is amazing. The fact he has a good few add ons that do that makes them really nice.
Look at demogorgons trash add ons. Dumb useless status effect add ons
Look at deathslinger dumb useless status effect add ons.
Myers.faster stalk and more duration
Ghostface had trash add ons with the only good ones being reduced cool down.
New hillbilly. All trash but if charge speed was there it would be the only good ones.
Trapper. Setting speed and an extra trap.
Wraith extra speed and faster uncloak.
Gimmick add ons always suck and I hate them
I don't really count effect add ons in this list. When I was talking about pig I was talking about how you can build her around her traps or her crouch. And how her Amandas letter is diverse and changes the way you play her. Or like body blocker hag. While I think the current add ons aren't the worst thing. I feel it would be more interesting to have the option to interact with killers powers in different ways

I spend alot of money on cosmetics because I think alot of them look nice. My only regret is buying so many jane ones to the point I dont use old ones so I try and switch it up to use all of them(will most likely buy her set that is coming out). Yea I get that but i can tell they just got the game from how they play. Half the time they don't even run away but walk (not exaggerating) Also their time played is vastly different then mine (they having only a day played compared to my 80+)

MMR is almost always an elo system that has modified k-values or slightly different calculations.
Based on that knowledge, elo typically takes about 25 games to get good. Outside of that the more games played the more accurate your rating is so every game played makes it better.
Alright then I'll just try playing more kiiller games. I've been playing survivor more since its been more accurate (prob because I've been playing it more). Thx for that didnt know how it worked exactly

On xbox here. While the ranks haven't been perfect. Its been ALOT more consistent with ranks as survivor. Be4 I would always get bad killers and teammates while now for the most part it seems everyone is around the same skill level.

I feel like people vastly overestimate how hard it is to play hag. The only thing that takes real skill on her would be using mint rag. Everything else is spamming down traps at every pallet or chokepoint near a 3 gen or a hook and then mashing control to collect free hits. Probably the most skillful thing you do as hag is waiting to see if someone on the other side of a pallet is going to vault it to determine if you take a trap or not.
Tons of veteran players will just suicide vs. the hag because they know how cheap she is. And I say that as someone who plays a ton of hag.
I think playing an M1 killer is significantly harder than hag.
I disagree. While she isn't nurse level of hard, she requires you to have map knowledge and a plan. Sure you can just place them at pallets but if your doing that without thinking ahead, it will lead you to disaster

The problem is that it's only being implemented for killers. Quick switching has always been a problem, and now that the Devs have implemented a system that locks characters... It only locks the killers. Survivors can still quick switch to whatever broken item they want, on whatever broken skin they want, and not give killers any time to react. It just feels kind of unfair, especially when you add in the cheating software that lets survivors see what killer they are going against.
I feel this would be a larger issue if the vast majority of the community did this. Personally I don't ever really see this but I'm not anybody else so what do I know. I play on xbox so people wouldn't be able to use that so I can't really say anything about that. People who use that are scummy and don't play for fun.

You do realise that killers are different with different abilities and survivors are just skins?
About the items you can always change your build if you want to use franklins for example.
You guys need to stop with this whining thing im getting sick of it honestly.
I agree with this. Survivors don't need to be locked. I personally don't see the point. That's basically saying that they wont be able to switch items which could be the equivalent to a killers addons. Locking away that would just bring frustration. As long as you can change your build its not that big of a deal

So what stats do you want to see here next from the developers?
It's been a while since we've seen which Perks are the most popular, but even longer since we've seen the least popular Perks, i'd want to see both. (Split up in all ranks/rank 1 & platform of course.)
Highly doubt they will do one soon. Remember what happened last time they gave us statistics. People kept basing their whole opinion off of them even tho the devs said take it with a grain of salt. Most people will just use the statistics as validation of why x or y needs to be nerfed. If everyone wasn't always arguing over things im positive we would get more statistics more frequently

I played killer just to see what it would be like to play on PS4 again after restarting on PC and was surprised that the toxicity from players is far worse.
After building up my Wraith to a tier 1 with my usual perks I enjoyed playing until you get to that rank 12 or 13 moment when you start to play much higher ranks but even playing higher ranks they tend me be more respectful which was something I forgot until playing on the PS4.
First match had the DC just before the 3rd hook and received the usual toxic message after killing them all.
Next two matches I had t-bagging at crates/gates etc.
The amount of SWFs on comms is far greater than PC so lack of co-ordination is better on PS4 so messing around with Trapper made me realise how much I hated it on PS4 with most of my traps called out and disabled.
Will go back to playing survivor on PC, the slog to upgrade all the killers is too much hassle.
Anyone heard whether BHVR have given an update about their SWF balancing plans have been actioned yet?
Xbox here. There are more swf but in my experience most aren't top notch players. Most are just people playing together for fun and stuff but you can still tell they are swf.

If it takes him forever to get EW3, minus well assume he has it and besides, you should be able to spare a hook state if he's been a M1 killer for a few generators. 😊
Sorry that my feedback isn't what you wanted to hear, but it a good counter against EW3 Tomstone — you even hear achievement hunters complaining about it! 🙂
I agree with this. If it takes a while for him to get into EW3 I usually assume he is running a tombstone or has infinite. Either way, you're dead anyway so jumping in a locker doesn't change the outcome. If you have distance run otherwise no harm jumping in a locker to counter. Not like you would survive anyway if he hit you

At this point killer is just annoying to play especially killers with poor gen pressure..even after all these updates to nerf gens they still go to fast and the only reason I still play killer is because I have to finish my rift stuff I did my survivor stuff really fast but have been putting killers off and so far I was right I still hate playing killer
My main issue atm is that everytime I play killer I get paired with rank 20s and it makes the round really boring because it ends so quickly
-
@ProfoundEnding said:
I can't be certain, I'm not a dev. But I assume it's a mix of all those things you mentioned. Obviously the more popular characters get more cosmetics because they're played more often. I also think they take into account how long it's been since a certain character has gotten one.
Let's take Yui, Jeff, and Adam for example. Yui came out over a year after Jeff and Adam yet she has at least 3 more outfits then both of them. This is because she is played more often.
Also, Zarina JUST came out, is nearly brand new and she currently has the exact same amount of store cosmetics as Adam. I think the dev's notice that female survivors are generally played more then male ones and also take this into account.
Now I'm sure the killers are in a similar situation. It's just not as compact.
That makes sense
-
To be fair it used to be alot worse. The empty area you ran passed in the beginning would of been another jungle gym to T-L wall. Also the killer had a chance to break the pallet if he didn't keep doubling back. Most of the maps were changed for the better and have become alot more balanced. Sure not everything was changed and some things can be screwed over by certain rng but they did say more changes can be made in the future. But ya know corona is still a thing so limitations are expected. This is just 1 of few examples.

I still disagree. If someone is within 36 meters working a gen or a gate, you are likely to hear it. You don't need Bond to know that they're there. In contrast, if someone is injured across the entire map and opening a gate, you can see it.
I liked the original Aftercare, but with the nerf to it, it goes away too quickly and doesn't cover the whole team.
Well I suppose we can agree to disagree then ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯
-
@Splinterverse said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1442100#Comment_1442100
Not true. You get less information because you only get 30 meters or so of info. With Empathy, you get mapwide info of people on generators, gates, etc., as long as they are injured. If someone is running No Mither, you see them the whole match. If you are going against a Legion or Plague, you see the whole team most of the game due to the frequent states of injury.
Yea I get that but that's situational. There are many games where people are mainly healthy. 36 meters isn't as small as you may think. Its more reliable imo. Personally I think aftercare triumphs them both but that's highly debatable. Also many killers are loud and make audio noises when they are in a chase so there are other ways to see if someone is in a chase without using the perk
-
Would be nice
-
@Splinterverse said:
Empathy trumps Bond. Bond has a small range, so small in fact that if they are in that range you are likely to see them anyway. Empathy is map-wide. You can see where the action is and avoid it or head for it to help. I use it in place of Self Care because I can also find others to be healed by.
While I think empathy is alright, I think bond is more versatile. Not only can I see people if I need to heal, but i can see if people are on gens, somebody running for a save, doing a door. You have more awareness with bond and get more info

@FrootLoops said:
thanks for the advice! I would also point out that in solo queue you have an information vaccuum, so bring perks to help bring you news. Bond is great for this, since it tells you where your team is and what they are doing for a pretty good distance around you. If you haven't unlocked bond then kindred is the next best thing. You can see which direction the killer leaves the hook in, which of your teammates may be going in for the save, and which gen(s) any of your team might be pressuring. Plus kindred feeds your whole team info when you get hooked
Yes I agree. I didn't really talk about perks but those are good ones to bring in solo queue. Another one I like is alert since it can let u know who the killer is early game and it lets you know where there are no pallets.

Oh, I understand now. You don't realize why devotion exists to begin with. Actually, you don't seem to understand how the level system itself works either so let me start with that. As levels increase, both the shard rewards and the xp required to read the next level increase. The shards per xp do differ slightly at different milestones but stay in a very small range. And it doesn't give you more shards per xp as level increases, it jumps both up and down at different milestones. Actually, the very last milestone before a reset is less shards per xp compared to the milestone before it. There is no "punishment" for reaching the next devotion level; that's just a figment of your imagination.
If instead of resetting, the shard rewards and xp required to level just kept increasing, then eventually it would take ridiculously large amounts of xp to get to the next level with massive shards being rewarded as a result. If the shards per xp invested actually increased as things went up, players might enjoy this. But since they stay relatively the same, most intelligent people are going to want more consistent progress rather than wildly spaced out progress. BHVR knew that and designed the player level to reset once levels reached 100 because that's intelligent design. The result was adding another variable that measured the results so you could have a hundred's place to help you measure your levels gained. Devotion is nothing more than the hundred's place on your player level. BHVR just assumed that players would be smart enough to figure that much out on their own so they didn't explicitly state it.
That literally did not answer anything. All u did was explain what devotion was, which everyone knows. So how about instead of belittling peopleand acting like you know anything, actually at the least of answer the question of WHAT rewards. And no, just because it's used in the system to "make getting shards more consistent" does not mean it's a reward.
Anyway I forgot on what stream it was on but I remember them talking about how they might have some ideas for ththe future to add devotion rewards just like how they will eventually add prestige rewards

I honestly think the devs do not care about console. Most of their playerbase is on pc therefore they are going to cater to them. Console hasn't been optimized since forever despite what they say. All they have to say is "we are working on it." I feel they need a team dedicated to console just like how there is a mobile team.
-
I just wish this game had better console optimization. Like I get it. They don't care and its not a high priority because pc is better. But like if they at least added a few things to make the overall experience better it would be nice. I hope they make counterparts for the next gen console and HOPEFULLY those will have better optimization. They have been sleeping on console forever to the point where it is obvious they don't care and their priorities don't lie here

Play with your food is very good on certain killers (Leatherface's chainsaw at 3 stacks of pwyf can be very deadly). It's not a standard perk that you can put on every killer and expect to do well with, so I wouldn't say its a good perk for every killer. Although I think some of the best killer perks that haven't been said yet are:
Franklin's Demise (Leatherface, level 40)
I'm All Ears (Ghostface, level 30)
Nemesis (Oni, level 40)
Blood Warden (Nightmare, level 40)
Surge (Demogorgon, level 30)
Infectious I would only recommend on insta down killers that can snowball very quickly. Infectious is amazing on the Hillbilly, the Oni, and The Shape at tier III Evil Within.
BBQ is great on every killer for bloodpoints and starting another chase fast, but killers like the Hillbilly, and the Nurse are very good users of it's aura reading parts. It's very easy to chainsaw someone who is on a generator from across the map with it if they are unaware.
Dying Light is not as good as people say. Firstly, the obsession is not affected by it. It also takes a long time to set up and with how fast generators can go, you have to be a Killer that can get quick downs like Spirit, Hillbilly, or Nurse to get it to work in time. It's not worth the slot.
Thanatophobia is also not that good. It punishes you for sacrificing survivors as you no longer gain the penalty to speed if a Survivor is dead. It relies on you keeping the Survivors alive to get the maximum value out of it and it's only good on killers like Legion that can quickly damage every survivor.
Discordance is an extremely good counter to perks like Prove Thyself (and also maybe a counter to Better Together), but if you can, keep it at tier 1 on your killers. 8 seconds is better then 12 because it gives you more accurate and more frequent information as to where the Survivors are. Discordance 3 has a higher chance of giving you false information if the Survivors have left the generator.
I'm All Ears is good for mindgames in chases if used right, Nemesis is extremely good combined with Play With Your Food, Franklin's is great for survivors that bring a lot of items or toolboxes, Blood Warden combined with NOED is great for a late game 4K, Surge is good on maps like Hawkins, and good for insta down Killers like Ghost Face. Combined with Surveillance it can be a very good combo.
Ah that makes sense. I use it every once and a whole on plauge in a meme build. I'm a plauge main and infectious is just soooo good on her. Either they are 1 shot or if not they most likely cleansed and u can snowball like crazy
Everything else u said I agree with, perks usefulness really depends on the killer
-
