    Shamelessly stolen perk design

  • I recommend moving it to Feedback and suggestions section rather than Ask the community; it doesn't quite fit here.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/suggestions

  • Unnerving presence AoE is literally your terror radius. Undetectable sets your TR to 0; technically unnerving works at 0 radius, but a more comprehensive answer would be No, it doesn't work.

  • Tl;dr Not a bug

Its spawn is triggered by someone entering the trial with a corresponding tome V quest selected. In theory, only the person with this quest should be able to interact with the pestula flower.

Unlike blighted gens, pestula flowers are part of the tome content rather than halloween event this time.

  • No, all maps only track already existing objects.

  • @Rizzo90 @MandyTalk could you help with the question regarding ticket submission above?

  • Keep in mind that you need to press it during second-to-last swing rather than the last one, since the last one is numb - it has no collision and doesn't hit people or objects. The last swing you see on your screen only exists as visual animation; and once you started it, you can not extend your dash anymore.

  • Assuming you already reported them in a game, you need to submit a direct support ticket:

Copyright © 2019 Behaviour Interactive. All rights reserved.

ticket type: player report additional information.

You need to attach all the evidence/data you have. Keep in mind that such reports are processed manually so it takes some time.

  • I suggest moving (or duplicating) this question to Technical Issues subforum for more relevant replies.

  • It only blocks communication; in DbD there's no feature to blacklist people in MM.

There is no limit in terms of how many people you can block.

  • @RepostRiposte said:

Pretty sure this is intended, hooking animation is not cancellable AFAIK.

This is just bad luck that you got the 11 o'clock skillcheck. If it had been any earlier he would not have gotten the hook.

It is not quite cancelled, more specifically u can not initiate it as a killer at the time when DS skillcheck is active (or so it was last time I tested it).

I'm open to corrections if someone is down to test it in KYF, as my data is far from up to date.

  • Afaik dbd doesn't allow you to track this specific data from its API, but I'm not generally knowledgeable in this topic, particularly in terms of third party programs.

I gonna upload the cutted escapes and scoreboards/progress on my YT-channel. There are always ppl who don´t believe stuff and I just wanted to make the progress/effort crystalclear

Thank you so much, this really helped me I didn’t know about some of the point being cut in half if someone helped you with gens etc

I need to improve my chases and try to pay more attention to totems

    thank you!

This is not explained in the game itself, but it is important to know for a lot of reasons (you can say it about pretty much any dbd backend info :D):

Every generator has 80 charges, with each survivor individually having repair speed of 1 charge/second.

With every additional survivor doing the same gen, contribution of each is reduced by 15% (-15% if doing a gen as two, -30% as three, -45% as four). The repair bar becomes red when someone else begins to repair your gen because your individual speed reduced, even though as a whole this generator is being repaired faster.

Emblem scoring only depends on the quantity of charges you contributed (a full gen done with 1 teammate from start to finish equals 40 gen charges for each of you).

  • Bug, in-game for at least several months. Not quite sure whether there's an already acknowledged bug report for it, but it won't harm to create a new one, esp. considering you got a video record.

  • Bug or visual skill check glitch, normally the game cancels hook animation in such circumstances. It was made to work this way a long while ago, soon after the Big DS Rework.

  • You are doing (more or less) the right thing (except for hook sabo - it does not affect your emblem scoring in any direct way).

Rank ups depend on emblems only, info on how emblems work can be found on wiki:

Emblems are a new Ranking Mechanic that was implemented with Patch 1.9.4 into Dead by Daylight . 1 Overview 2 Survivor Emblems 2.1 Lightbringer 2.2 Unbroken 2.3 Benevolent 2.4 Evader 3 Killer Emblems 3.1 Gatekeeper 3.2 Devout 3.3 Malicious 3.4 Chaser 4 Emblem Qualities 5 Ranking 5.1 Pip Conditions 6 Change Log 6.1 Patch 2.0.0 6.2 Patch 2.3.0 6.3 Patch 3.0.0 7 Trivia The Emblem System is a replacement for the Victory Cube for Killers and the old Bloodpoint-related Rank Mechanic for Survivors. A P

You need to repair as many gens as possible in terms of how many charges you yourself repaired - if you are co-op'ing with someone else, you get half the points. Killer distraction while someone else repairs gens also boosts this emblem by a small number; besides that you can get some points for doing totems.

Unbroken is kind of straight forward, just remember that getting downed once already denies you iridiscent quality in this category.

Benevolent has a large negative adjustment for the total amount of times people on your team got hooked, and to cover up for that you'll need to personally unhook as many of them as possible.

As for evader emblem, you need to win at least some of the chases (=escape them), cause otherwise your current chase score is cut in half.

  • No, especially considering it gives killer an advantage cause you do not make extra distance (man i can hear you breath, do you think I'll lose you over a 2s long blindness?).

Keep in mind that in high level matches these blinds are useless in 99% of cases. The "real" benefit of flashlights comes from grasp saves [besides rather unique scenarios of wraith lightburns, hag detraps, and some cheesy plays with nurse double flashlight lightburns/spirit haunt blinds/legion tech baits]. However, flashlight saves are rare to pull off without putting your team at a disadvantage due to spending too much time on positioning yourself around the killer and his victim rather than gens. On the other hand, making it work feels like an actual accomplishment and can turn the match around.

Edit: a small piece of advice - due to the way hag's and spirit's fov behaves during their pallet break animation, both are un-blindable in the process. Don't try it against them.

  • Small qol improvements like disabling last second item switching, displaying character icons in post-game tab, adding proper spectator camera for killers; also bug fixes, optimisation and so on.

  • What your example shows is just really unfortunate RNG. The odds of this happening are less than 1% [to be precise, 1/(3*8*7)=1/168], since it is literally the only possible sequence to deny you all the 3 remaining perks given the path you chose.

  • When you pallet stun billy, the pallet doesn't get destroyed as his saw is cancelled the moment pallet is dropped. If he destroyed the pallets, it means he was not stunned by them in the first place. Taking these two stuns out, only 3 instances remain which is not enough.

I haven't encountered or read about any major bugs with this challenge, just keep doing whatever you are doing, and eventually you'll complete it. DS, head on, q&q and probably IW will help you to increase the odds of success.

  • Accept that you are going down and try to take the mask off at her face to force her to down you. In dying state, the timer stops and then she needs to either hook you or camp you untill someone heals you. It takes a lot of time to actually tunnel someone into dying to RBT and she most definetely loses the game in the meanwhile.

From emotional point of view, considering it to be a bubba facecamping you while you use camaredire kind of scenario. Nothing is gonna save you, but your sacrifice gives your team a nearly guaranteed victory.

  • Boil over => soul guard (as already suggested above) or power struggle (which is a better fit imo).

I'd probably remove both boil over and UB to get two perks mentioned above instead. UB is a bit of an overkill here.

    Really? I was not aware.

Like, I knew you can get a Merciless Killer without double pipping, but I didn't know you could get the Adept trophy in that way.

Merciless victory quite literally IS a double pip match.

Ruthless killer for single pip, brutal for black, entity displeased for -pip. These "titles" refer to pip output and nothing else.

Adept requires you to get a merciless victory (+2 pips) only using this killer's 3 perks (4th slot should be empty), w/o restrictions on addons or offerings.

  • There was that 4.6 FF speed massive issue, it was fixed and it was mentioned in patch notes.

Then there's a 2nd wave (not confirmed) - legion might be moving slightly slower (4.9-5.0 instead of 5.2 m/s) with a correspondingly shorter lunge attack, but it hasn't been properly confirmed and submitted as fully backed up bug report. There's ongoing speculation regarding this issue existance.

From my personal perspective, legion movement feels a little bit off, and I simply dropped them from my active killer pool for now.

Is it true that the max amount of bloodpoints you could get in every category used to be 5000 so you could only max at 20000 a game instead of 32000?

I'm not entirely sure since it was more than 4 years ago, but iirc 5k bps was the top limit of points counted towards your rank progression after a match (pips were vased on BPs earned back then). However, you could actually get 8,000 points in each category, just that the last 3,000 points simply had no effect on your rank.

Then again, I'm not entirely sure I remember it right (or this could be 2nd generation of the score system rather than the 1st one), and I didn't commit for a fact check.

Currently you need to get a double pip (the results screen will say Merciless Killer, not Ruthless or Brutal Killer) and have killed all of the four Survivors.

    Then you get the achievement.

Not quite true. You don't have to kill all the 4 survivors, it's only about merciless victory.

You can 3k and double pip if you are purple rank or lower, or if some generous soul dc's on hook and gives you double sacrifice emblem scoring.

Correct. I have hit survivors with it. Mostly on windows by body blocking then fatigue cancelling before they have realized I've blocked the window. It's a niche situation that rarely happens but I mainly use it to save time between chases. For instance, I downed a survivor then see another out of the corner of my eye running away from the loop. I long blink in there general location to get LOS then I see I'm just out of lunge range. I fatigue cancel causing the survivor to path inefficiently cause they think I'm gonna blink or double back. Because of the cancel I get a free hit because they expected a fatigue that I didn't have.

    makes sense to me

  • @HR_Helios said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1838302#Comment_1838302

I play nurse on console and pc and I've found charging for just a moment then spamming m1 gets me the cancel more consistently. Idk why but I've been doing it if I have to guess about 80% of the time. I use it in situations where I need pressure. The time you save by doing it is crazy.

This way it only helps with fatigue cancellation/blink cancellation itself, and doesn't quite counter double backs on your 2nd blink charge, right? If I understood you correctly, time gap in this case is too short to adjust your decision basing on survivors movement, as well as for survivor to come close enough to you for the hit to connect.

I agree Ive ran the same build on huntress for most of the time I've played her and I still keep my rank one and win almost every game without any of those perks. The one time I ran ruin undying it was too easy. I was 4king at 5-4 gens and I immediately took it off after 3 games of the same result

they aren't even good on huntress, with an exception of few very specific maps. she has no mobility and no gen pressure, it's an entirely snowballing killer and (again, with few specific map exceptions) such perks are a waste on huntress in pub matches.

  • It's kind of nice actually, as whatever mentality/mindset you have, you'll find something interesting to play in dbd.

    To add to this,

Beware maps that have multiple floors such as The Game, Stanger Things map, and basements. If you blink downwards and the basement or the bottom floor is beneath you, YOU WILL BLINK TO THE BOTTOM LEVEL!

    Dude...

Pay attention to the thread title.

They're not my rules. I'm doing what killer mains and survivor mains suggest we should do. The fact that doing so probably doesn't work suggests that the game is ######### up no matter how we play. That makes it a developmental problem.

It is suggested by the same skill group that asks for noed nerf, take it with a grain of salt.

  • Following made up rules of yours doesn't mean everyone else should, too.

Do you have a video of this? Because in my hundreds of hours on Nurse I have yet to experience/see this.

    video+explanation

    https://youtu.be/XPQb8B7pMIM?t=365

  • @Almo said:

Blinking at the ground in front of you does shorten the distance travelled. But the time it takes to travel is fixed as a function of how long you've been holding the blink before letting go. So once it's fully charged you're committed to a full-duration blink.

I mean an actual cancel of the blink allowing you to M1 instead of using an already charged blink

    @OniWantsYourMacaroni, @Almo

Best footage of blink cancellation I found (disregard the russian title, just refer to the video itself):

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vd-OwUdwTAI&ab_channel=Feromon

On average I encounter 1 player who can consistently pull it off per 1k hrs of playtime, and it is mostly used on the 2nd blink as a counter to double back. Since I'm currently working on my nurse skills (that are rather pathetic as of now), I'd like to learn this stuff as well.

  • @derppug said:

If it's 1st blink, aim to the ground.

If it's the 2nd blink, hold it.

I don't quite understand what you mean.

  • @VikingWilson said:

SupaAlf says to charge the second blink and swing just before fatigue. I really don't see how, either, since I can either charge a second blink OR swing, and when I don't charge the second blink and swing, I just go into the additional swing fatigue.

Certainly it's an exploit, but I wouldn't mind at all if she stopped looking directly at the ground during fatigue, especially when it takes three whole seconds to recover one charge and an additional second for missed swings.

I tried what he's saying and failed 100% of my attempts so far :D

  • @OniWantsYourMacaroni said:

    You can't.

You can only aim your blink towards the ground to shorten the blink distance

You most definetely can and it's still in the game.

I just can't get the timing right, same with the fatigue cancel. I'm not too worried about it, they're bugs, anyway.

What should be fatigue hit timing in theory? I've been looking for some guides on this matter today, but couldn't find anything reasonable.

  • @VikingWilson said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1837596#Comment_1837596

I've never been able to do that and I've played a whole lot of Nurse

Give it a shot next time you play her, mb you'll find it useful (I kind of don't). It doesn't even require high sensitivity.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Good question! Nurse is forced to look at the ground when she's on fatigue. The wider FOV from Shadowborn lets you better see scratchmarks, survivors' feet, etc. while on fatigue, which can help you track them during a chase.

Or you could just look up when in fatigue.

I'm pretty sure it's not working as intended when the game allows you to do so, but this bug has been here since forever.

  • Usually it is not, and you need to submit a direct support ticket with strong evidence (video record and whatever else you may attach - steam IDs, match info and so on).

  • Basic build is m&a+whispers (as mentioned by TheGannMan), ruin and undying. If you are a bit more confident, ruin/undying can be swapped with more agressive stuff: enduring, spirit fury, bamboozle, brutal strenght (u'll see quite a lot of pig mains using the latter one).
