the killer has almost no reason to be around completed gens
If survivors are trying to take their chase toward gens in progress, they're objectively doing it wrong.
If you can lead the killer away, more time for your team. And the best place for that is where gens are already finished.
Hadn't really thought of that honestly, mainly because if someone is purposely trying to run me away from gens I just... dont follow them.

All you have to do to counter act needing to hit a wall is bump in place and immediately rush forward.
The removal of tokens when breaking a pallet is warranted
Yes but you still need to actually hit the survivor. And if you're running in a straight line against the blight then you deserve to get smacked for that. So I must disagree that it's warrented. Whats next put weskers power on cooldown after breaking a pallet? seems like people are just mad that their 17 exhaustion perks don't give them as much distance against the blight. If people stopped using exhaustion perks every game they would realize that the issues they have with mobility killers go down. Though that would actually require you to be able to properly play without the exhaustion perk. (I bring anti-exhaustion builds sometimes and its the funniest thing, they run around like a chicken with its head cut off)

I obviously can't speak for the development team, but personally I'd argue that it isn't just that it's money to implement and moderate, it's also that there isn't much of a benefit.
Voice chat obviously wouldn't benefit the majority of SWFs much, if they're capable of using voice chat they're probably already using Discord or another third party system.
Voice chat also doesn't benefit solo queue that much overall, since a lot of variables have to align before you're actually able to use voice chat with strangers - language barrier is the biggest thing to consider, but there's also willingness to use a mic, actually owning a mic, noise pollution from other people in your vicinity while playing, and so on.
On top of all of that, it also opens up new avenues for toxicity and harassment, which is a pretty major negative to compare the benefits against- and since there isn't really much in the way of benefits to begin with, that makes it a pretty noticeable element overall. The better question to ask, genuinely and not as a rhetorical question, is why bother implementing VC in the first place.
As for why bother; so we can stop using the soloq excuse for buffing survivors or doing some weird things with revealing what killer it is halfway into a match. When they could be idk, working on making the game more enjoyable/less buggy.

Killers have been able to do all this for years. No items? Can take off Franklins. Four flashlights. Lightborn. 4 matching Aces, dodge.
If it hasn't been a problem for killers to do this, then it's not a problem for survivors.
Or better yet, prevent both sides from seeing anything about the other, which would help curb sniping as well.
All survivors are identical except for how well they blend in to different areas. I can't make a build that specifically invalidates any feng's but I can make a build specifically to deal with a killer power. Plus I mean, 5 sec switch has been in the game since it came out. If you're really that concerned about someone bringing lightborn or franklins just do that.
survivor items ≠ killer powers

I think that when nobody is hooked or downed by the killer, with a short grace period after unhooks, after gates are open survivors should start to have their bp drained at a slow but exponentially increasing rate and given to the killer. Then they can tbag at the gates to their heart's content.
While I'm not sure it would change anything since most toxic survivors have no life and are max level on everything it would still be quite funny to see.
-
Maybe, idk. I haven't made one and dont plan to, not really that concerned about my stats, free charms I'll never use or bhvr telling me to give them money.

You can just find another game? If a killer is out of their depth/doesn't want to get bullied and farmed/has to take care of their child/dog/flooding basement I don't think crucifing them is the best option. You get the bp you earned playing up till that point, just queue again. Sounds like you're just mad that a killer doesn't want to let you farm bp honestly.
-
You could also just... play the game and find out? Aren't there more pressing matters to fix in this godforsaken game than if you can tell what killer it is before he smacks you with a large object?
-
Interesting points, and removing the vault is an option. But if you keep it let it still work properly. My issue isn't the ghoul being nerfed my issue is bug abusing. (and I don't want excuses that it isn't a bug, survivors shouldn't be able to phase through the killer)

Ghoul is not worse then legion.
He still has hyper mobility and a free injury state (legion hit is not free survivors have counterplay to it even if its harder to do)
Ghoul gets one part of his overtuned kit nerfed and we acting like the killer is worse the legionOk, so if it was a nerf then the power would still work properly, the problem is that the power is is not working properly. If you want it so I don't auto hit you if you're too close and have a deathwish thats fine, I will manually smack you then. The problem is that it doesn't work, survivors can completely negate your power by running through you and just vaulting over, it isn't a nerf it is a a bug at that point.
@NotVerySuss said:
This change would actually be fine if they made so that survivors can't just walk through you during your vaulting animation and vault to the other side of the pallet. If they made it so that you can body block them from vaulting it would be fair. but for now i think its not fair.
Basically what they said, you want to nerf the ghoul? alright fine, but make sure it actually works properly.
(Secondly, it isn't a free hit especially since they keep changing the "stickyness" (personally Im not attached to if it has stickyness or not I'd just like them to decide on a value, even if its 0, and not change it every couple weeks) sometimes you will get hit because of bad circumstances but the same could be said for many killers, you can play around it. Play the ghoul or watch someone play them and you'll learn their weaknesses. though this doesn't really pertain to the main subject. )

This will literally just increase instant/near instant saves, thereby increase proxying, thereby increasing camping, thereby defeating the purpose? At this point we should just let the survivors teleport to lockers after being unhooked. You already have base kit haste and endurance, plus anti camping measures. Like what more do you want lol
-
Now I almost always play killer (as in the only recent games of survivor I've had are for 2v8 priority queue) and I do understand where you're coming from. That said actively pickinga fight on the forums is a good way to immediately shut down any sort of discussion on the matter and just bury the topic.
I do think that the killer should have more options when it comes to survivors just waiting at the exit gates. the problem is that there, at least that I can think of, isn't really a perfect solution. Some ideas I've had are to block the gates if the killer is within a certain range, if a survivor loses a health statein the gates, etc. And I do think your idea has merit, similar to the anti camping charge up. I also think another way to curb it would be to lengthen the collapse and have the collapse start as the exit gates are powered.
(side note I dont think letting the killer leave immediately would be a good idea, it would make any sort of end game build almost impossible because the onlykillers who wouldnt leave would obviously have a trick up their sleeve. Though I also think survivors shouldnt be allowed to leave either...)
But here's the issue with any sort of discussion down this avenue: While I try to see issues from both sides the truth is that the game is survivor sided, has always been and will always be. (With a few exceptions like nurse.) The most apparent situations would be noed and dead hard. Noed is just an alright perk, a last desperate gasp before the game is over, a perk slot I could have instead used to help prevent getting that far into the match. It is also the source of salt within the dead sea and has been changed (nerfed) so much I'm honestly surprised it still has the same premise (you know, like how knock out's description doesn't even make any sense anymore) whereas deadhard was so powerful and prevalent for an extended period of time without being touched. To the extent that I feel that the devs were just ignoring the issue hoping it would go away. Again I'm not saying killers never get anything nice, Im just saying that the games balance is skewed towards being survivor sided. The counter argument oft said is about soloq but Im here to tell you that as someone who's been playing since the game came out almost 10 years ago, in high mmr it doesn't matter if you're in a swf or solo the teams are very coordinated and not often inefficient. (though there are a few survivors who are outliers throwing the game sometimes) My point is that, unfortunately, I doubt any amount of discussion is going to make the end game less miserable for killers. inherently due to the 4v1 dynamic there will always be more survivor players and therefore more complaints if things dont go their way. (like when they changed the movement so survivors had to move more within the bounds of reality and couldn't change momentum on a dime or spin around at mach 10) So my advice is this: pull out your phone and watch a video or something while you wait for the collapse to push them out, beats giving the survivors what they want. (or break pallets and stuf if you want/need the bloodpoints)

Survivors are being efficient with their time. Sounds awful. BHVR plz fix immediately.
I'm curious what the killer is doing where at least 2 survivors have zero pressure in this scenario. I'm guessing camping.
Yes, thank you for the insight since you are curious as to possible situations I shall list some, though it is not all inclusive. Though since you know at leas of the camping scenario I will leave that one out.
- we've got four survivors alive all on death hook the killer is currently chasing one survivor which not only leaves the aforementioned two survivors but actually includes an addition third survivor to assist with the last gen or open the second exit. There is of course a variation on this where they are chasing the third survivor and the fourth survivor is dead.
- The killer just hooked and killed a survivor leaving two left he is now about 16 meters away from a survivor working on the last gen. The last survivor sticks the gen and it gets completed, taking a hit in the process, and because the S2 was at thegate waiting he is able to get it open before the killer has a chance to down the original survivor. (though I must admit this scenario actually only has one survivor with zero pressure on them so it doesn't technically fit your criteria)
- The killer is doing rounds on the last three generators (now this scenario can actually have up to four survivors with zero pressure on them and, you're going to love this, doesn't involve camping!)
- Now this is actually a variation on the first scenario. There are four survivors and the killer is actually semi-chasing two of the survivors (which if you notice leaves the other two survivors pressure free!) as the killer picked up one survivor and the other flashlight/pallet saved.
- Now in this scenario we have one survivor hooked, another in chase, and would you believe it that leaves two survivors with zero pressure.
This list is not all inclusive and there are many more. Now to further elaborate on your proposed situation if the killer is camping a hooked survivor wheter or not the exit gates are being opened really isn't a concern since they cant do anything about it anyway (as they're busy camping)
-
@Wezqu said:
Its normal tactic even in solo queue to go to a door when someone is very close of finishing a gen. I do it all the time if I am close to one when the last gen is going to pop.
That is part of what I was saying, that this occurance is not exclusive to swf and is more a general thing.

I don't understand why Ghoul has exit blocking in first place. But giving him guaranteed kill on his guaranteed hit wouldn't be a good change. It would be same as versing Springtrap with loot box. Someone will just die, no matter what.
It's so that you still have a last card to play at the exit gates. I actually think its strange that springtrap doesn't have base kit blocking considering houndmaster, twins, ghoul, etc. do. I personally think there should be a mechanic for every killer to block exit gates temporarily somehow (its easy for some killers to just add blocking after using their ability on a survivor but that wouldn't really be applicable to like trapper). To make it a dangerous game to teabag at the exit gates instead of just leaving. However I also acknowledge that many people who play this game would ceaselessly complain that they can no longer inflate their egos risk free at the exits. So I must accept that this will not come to pass and be content asking for slightly more time blocking on those that already do.
And I have to disagree on the "guaranteed kill on guaranteed hit" due to the fact that you do need to aim (albeit with some aim assist) but more importantly that due to the slowdown (and speed bosst from being hit) from hitting a survivor adding that 1/1.5 secs will only let you get the kill if the survivor is right at the exit threshold, doesn't try to move or juke after being hit, and doesnt have any suvivirs around to assist. For the first qualifier you would require impressive timing (or impressive luck) to catch a survivor there or someone who is teabagging at the threshold at which point I think guaranteed death is deserving. Since almost all exit gated have pillars on the side (I think hawkins doesnt? if I remember correctly) you can simply use them to not get grabbed and leave after the ghoul enters the lockout after using the ability. The second and thrid qualifiers require them to just sit at the threshold instead of trying to 360/running around to have friends take the hit. For both gameplay and lore I don't think just because youve made it to the exit gate means you should be guaranteed an escape. Similar to that just because youve downed someone doesnt guarantee you can hook them. While there should always be hope for things to go well this should be counterbalanced by dread that things could go awry.

This is what we in the buisness call "cope". I've played as her and against her and its not much different from playing against blight, plus just don't present a target and they won't getthe fast vault. the only "broken" thing about them is that deep wound negates the survivors 37 endurance perks. They really are weaker than people say (not that they are weak by any means, just not as strong as people say) People just don't want to learn how to play against them, and it isn't a free hit just play around objects like you do blight/ranged killers. Ive had plenty of times Ive been forced to m1 because they're playing smart.

First and foremost Ghoul IS NOT BALANCED. At least not in the state he is currently in. I don't know what they should tweak about him but that bs vault over pallet and have no recovery time whatsoever to get a free hit is pure nonsense and should be removed just like they did with Chucky. Ghoul already has insane mobility. He does not need an uncounterable chase ability. Survivors are not running the loop wrong because there is no running the loop right against Ghoul. It is a stage 4 killer and should be changed immediately.
Idk I think they're balanced but I also play a lot of nurse so she is my comparison to broken.
Addendum: I think if you're getting guarenteed hit after a pallet vault you are running wrong or its a bad pallet. Just because the counter is similar to weskers in that you just keep looping the pallet until they break it. but if its a short wall and you run away its like a 50/50 if you've the distance to get to another vault/pallet. though the counter to that would just be not to let her target you on the other side of the pallet because then they have a similar speed and slowdown to wesker. I was more asking about hitting people over walls (and sometimes pallets) but "hold W" works mostly ok. I do have to say that she either shouldn't be able to manually cancel her ability or have it have a longer "stun" because if you grab a survivor for distance it slows you a lot but if I grab an object near them and end up right next to them I get the normal shorter stun. (which is usually a free hit, unless they're close to a lifeline)

Nice guess but rather wrong.
I play more killer than anything. Dredge, Scratched mirror Myers are my two main plays. With scratched mirror I can see through walls, see survivors running to save, and I still walk away.
Why? Because I have gens to defend not a hook.
What? Thats just a poor play on your part. If we do the math here we've got one survivor on hook and one going for a save so only two people doing gens. Now we walk away and get someone off a gen and we go to one.... but wait now the other two are on gens because they reset when you walk away so now weve got three people on gens and one in chase. Not a great gen defense plan.
Now if we play it differently and go trade hook or redown the unhookee should they block Ive now got another hook and a chase meaning another persons got to go for the save meaning now we've only got one person on the gens. Ergo the better gen defense is to occupy as many survivors as possible and not just make sure they arent touching them at that exact moment.

The issue is there is "Toxic" behavior and "scumbag" playstyles/behavior. For instance Slugging/camping/tunneling I see as more towards the scumbag behavior while it Isn't outright toxic, it's not exactly nice. Toxic behavior to me would be, t-bagging at the exit gates, flashlight clicking at the killer, killers hitting survivors that are hooked repeatedly, doing their weird little movement ritual on survivors that are slugged, etc.
Scumbag is, in my opinion, fine. you paid for the game play how you want. My issue is the legitimate toxicity like endgame chat slurs, leaving hateful comments on steam etc. The people who go out of their way to be awful.
-
I mean you just shouldn't have tunneled, I jest. In all seriousness its annoying at times and funny at others from both sides when one side fails. However I dont really see a way you could fix it entirely. Removing their collision could still have awkward moments where the game says you hit them anyway because they were inside of you, and after an unhook you're almost guaranteed to have the hit count as protection so endurance not triggering on protection hits would invalidate base kit bt. (Not that Im against invalidating base kit bt....) Im not entirely sure of a way to fix it that would make every situation work but the simplest, with complications as stated, would just be removing bt'd survivors collision. But then itd have to be considered a diffrent type of endurance effect so that ALL endurance efects dont have collision.

This is why I liked my idea of actually dodging a killer hit from pure skill grants you the speed boost. Not press a button and you get endurance for 1 second.
But if they escape it is a "skilled" play. One button pressing therefore is "skillful"

Killers should also have a slightly wider FoV anyway.
