Why are you not nerfing the most used perk in the game, but instead nerf addons of killers that have very small play rate?
You guys said in a recent post that you don't want to rush changes. Ok..but then you nerfed The Artist before she was even released. I really don't understand the thought process behind the decisions you take.
Why change the only addon that makes Clown playable? Why do it now?
Do you guys got killed by a Clown with pinky finger recently, babyraged and decided to nerf it? Is that what it is?
You also nerfed some Twins addons..why?? I do play survivor a lot and i think i saw Twins 3 times last year, just saying
You should be punished for your mistakes

As someone who's secondary complaint about this game is how many borderline unusable perks there are in the game, it's frustrating to see the player base react poorly to terrible perks being given a viable use. There are cases where perks are genuinely too strong, but you can tell what perks these are because they start to replace the meta (which for whatever reason doesn't get nerfed). Mettle of Man was originally a clear cut case, Circle of Healing is not as overwhelmingly busted, but is still probably too strong because it has somewhat replaced the meta. Everyone once thought the change to Lucky Break was completely busted, but how often do you see that perk now?
Boil Over and Power Struggle are not too powerful in their buffed forms. Boil Over isn't the problem, there not being a close enough hook in RPD library (and probably Thompson House) is the problem and that can be solved by putting hooks in the right locations. PS still practically requires Flip Flop, and any perk that requires a paired perk (especially one that isn't good on it's own) will never be meta.
Dead Man's Switch may genuinely be a bit too strong, but I can't tell for sure.
Anyway, as someone who wants the devs to feel rewarded for making perks genuinely useable, please don't discourage them from making effective changes. If we do that as a community, the perk changes/buffs that we will see will all be on the same level as Buckle Up, because people are generally not going to get in as big an uproar about a terrible perk remaining terrible compared to a perk becoming something a killer/survivor has to think about/overcome.
Devs, if you see this, I want you to know that meaningful perk buffs are what keep this game alive for me. Thank you for the buffs/changes that matter.
DMS is a wee bit strong but infinite healing with no downsides isn't

Killers complain all the time because they want to be a power role and be feared and get easy kills. The devs want a game to be balanced and have around a 50% kill rate.
That is why there’s so much complaining and devs don’t listen
Your entire acc posts is about mocking killers, this thing of 50 50 doesn't make sense, doesn't matter for you survivor mains if you do poorly you will still have 50% of underseved escape rate. The game is a 4v1,killers should be powerful to keep up with multiple people at the same time.

Also, iridescents addons are supposed to be strong and change the way you play the killer, why would i waste 7k bp on a ######### addon

tbaging, flashlight clicking (on macro!) or bodyblocking, healing in groups, don’t stop killers from playing. They’re rude and toxic too, but they do not halt the game or prevent the killer from trying. I said toxic game play because face camping and only going after one person is generally toxic. In situations where there’s no more gens and no hooks and stuff like that it’s definitely fair, but face camping at 5 gens or hard tunnelling someone out the game as early as possible is toxic. Sorry I wasn’t clear. I don’t think many high level survivors see a killer camp/tunnelling when the game is almost over as they toxic. Yes a killers objective is to kill, but at the same time aren’t they supposed to try and kill as many people as possible? They’re also supposed to prevent gens from being finished, deal as much damage as possible, etc. If they can’t and camping/tunnelling is the only way to secure one, how is that more fun than going after others and chasing them?
As for the person who is being tunnelled, if they’re not great that’s what, maybe 20 seconds or a game play? What about everyone else? Survivors cannot stop killers from chasing them. It’s simple like that. They can be better than them and not let them win, but they literally cannot prevent a chase. Whether or not it’s fun for the killer is if they care more about winning than just trying. You’re saying camping is supposed to provoke others to come, but that’s being stupid in a survivor’s part. It’s still not fun to just trade, or end up with two people down. What if there’s noed, an insta down killer, one of several insta down perks, etc. You’re saying that camping encourages saves but even if it does then what? That person who trades doesn’t get a chase, they just get to sit on hook for the next guy and then they get camped.
Your power scenario to counter my point was kind of a stretch, but even if you’re playing against a good team who happens to be able to prevent you from using your power (even though many killers don’t have to deal with that like ghost face) you still get to go after them. You don’t have to sit and hold a button and leave or sit on a hook. You.still.get.to.chase.
i am not saying none of this gameplay is ever fair, and it’s not even toxic sometimes, but at the end of the day the killer can remove a big aspect of the game that survivors cannot. Not being able to have fun as a killer because you’re having losing is a lot different than not having fun as a survivor because you literally don’t get to play most of the game.
Yes,surv's toxicity is excusable is that what you are saying ?
-
@ElizaSteph said:
This isn’t me trying to be whiny or start an argument, but I have a geneuine question. I’ve seen a lot of killers get upset or mad when they’re accused of making the game less fun for survivors, and in turn reply with why should they sacrifice their fun for ours? That is fair question and they definitely shouldn’t have to.
But my point is, this is usually brought up when the other side is talking about face camping, slugging, and tunnelling.
For starters , the killer has more impact on whether or not the game can be fun. How can survivors ruin a killer’s game? The only answer I can think of (i have a lack of understanding of the killer’s side, so correct me if there’s more ways) is by being good at the game. A survivor that is doing their objective and playing really well— ie doing gens, looping efficiently, trying to save and help their teammates— is the only thing they can really do that can ruin the killer’s fun.
When killers are being accused of ruining the game, it’s because of toxic gameplay like camping and tunnelling. A killer can chose to play in a way that prevents others from playing the game properly. Survivors can’t prevent the killer from playing the game.
Say I get face camped. That’s me not being able to do objective or get chased, and my teammates are forced to sit on gens the entire time and not experience getting chased. If they decide to trade then the game just becomes this mindless grab and get hooked simulator where you don’t have to drop pallets or window fault or do any sort of plays. And when it’s solo que it’s almost impossible for any plan to work out.
Or if the killer decides to slug and not hook anyone until everyone is down. That’s people sitting around doing nothing. Not being able to go for saves or do gens etc.
Even if the killer is losing and doesn’t have any kills because survivors are playing super well, they still get to chase, use their powers, perks, etc. They still get to PLAY instead of playing experience hook or gen simulator.
How can a survivor take the same kind of fun away from a killer besides by just being good? That may sound back handed but I promise I don’t mean it to be. I just mean that survivors can’t really stop the actual game aspect, while killers can make it very boring for us.
My question is, do killers find this type of play style actually fun, or are they doing it just to win? Like is it more boring to not win a chase even if you try your best, than it is to sit on a hook and go after the saved person and immediately down them again?
Because I think that on killer’s side sometimes winning has become more important than having a fun game of chase and mind gaming, and this in turn effects the entire lobby. I’m not saying they should sacrifice their fun, I just want to point out that it’s a lot easier for them to take the game aspect out of the game and I don’t think they really have fun playing like that anyway.
Killers are not really allowed to win,if they try to win (ie using tactics like camping/slugging/tunneling/) they are considered skillless and "boring" and "unfun",dbd is the only game where killing your opponent is considered "unfair"

Honestly I'd rather go against a 4 slowdown Pinhead instead of a Hoarder Franklin's infinite box Pinhead that makes solo queue painful due to my teammates not knowing how to counter them as well as painful RNG. Besides, it wouldn't be the first time I'd go against a 4 slowdown killer.

It's supposed to assist you with hurting people with your power, like how Spirit's phase walk assists you with cheesing a hit. It doesn't do the job too well which is why I want it buffed. I want the killer to be strong while still being enjoyable to go against, like Blight for instance.
Yes,that's true, also,Blight is Well designed, but people want him nerfed for no reason at all

So there's a lot of talk about blight needing to be nerfed. Specifically a few of his add-ons, namely alch ring, crow, and c33.
A lot of people say that base kit blight is perfect, and incredibly well designed, which I very much agree with. I love playing him without add-ons, and honestly can't stand using the speed ones as I feel like it messes with my perception a lot.
One thing I'm incredibly afraid for is blight to get the billy treatment. Where his base kit is fine, and the add-ons need changes, but when he's looked at and adjusted his base kit will be affected much more than needed, and add-ons made to be near useless.
What do y'all think should be changed exactly and how? Do you agree that base blight is perfect? Is it just his add-ons that are problematic? How do you think he will be affected when the inevitable change happens?
i'm afraid too that he'll get the billy treatment, people here dont want blights addons to be balanced, thehy want them gutted and uselles, like slinger's ones.

I forgot to mention Engie's Fang, lemme edit that real quick. Engie's Fang should absolutely stay the way it is, it was busted as hell prior to its nerf. Iri Lament Config is debatable as well as the box solving add-ons. Hoarder and Franklin's are really what made the box solving add-ons ridiculous, removing the synergy of those two perks with the box will give more freedom with add-ons while not punishing those who didn't use either of those perks on Pinhead.
You literally can't hurt people with your power, this type of design is #########,eng fang should've been base kit, nerfing a already b tier killer is really funny, huh

Super fun to play as, and interactive to play against.
He needs buffs for sure, revert his add-on nerfs and making it so collision with Pinhead and objects don't break chains. Objects being able to break chains is annoying, and can result in the chains not even doing anything in terms of value. Oh and make long range shots more rewarding. I would also say remove his synergy with the box and Franklin's/Hoarder to make it less stressful for solos as a nerf, but maybe a few more buffs to compensate? I don't know.
When a killer finnaly make a useless and dead perk useful its considered unfun lmao, looks like people don't like synergized things,Franklins and hoarder, less 2 perks for slowdown,p3ople whine when its 4 slowdown, and people whine if you use other perks, they are never satisfied.

this.
it has a lot of factors. Map awarness, learning what is slippery and what is not, etc…
Blight is also as you noticed. You rush ans bump and then you have 1.25(?) second of reaction time to chain lethal rush.
your DPI has no need to be massive. Play it how you feel comfortable with. Then slowly increase it - same as shooter games or any others.
Blight is hardest to play. Those who flick you around trees and corners have invested 2-3 digit hours into blight.
Start with simple. Then move to harder.
1) Hit box - field
From lethal rush with attack you convert into lunge.
The fraction of time, where you go into lunge the hit field or we is proper term, will be aprox 180 degree, after converting into lunge it is much much smaller
So the right way is to get onto survivor and do a hit without going lunge. Its always mind game as you need to flick/tilt mouse/controller into side he tries to dodge
2) Bump logic
You need to bump around to get survivor zoned so you can land hit. Orientation where you bump, spin toward survivor and continue. Hardest part tbf
3) Side Bump
Before bump flick into side, which will help you with smoother rotations
4) Hug tech
Bump into car/wall, get closer to hug it, look down -> rush and slide
*Some objects wants you to look up
5)Moon rush
upgrade 4) by before going rush, look slightly one side and with rush look other way around
6) Watch LilithOmen
Stream and tutorials. You will learn a lot. Blight legend
7) Practice and learn about
objects
Its 3 seconds instead of 1.25
-
@Phasmamain said:
Swing early to use the rush’s huge hitbox and make sure your sensitivity/dpi is high
Swinging early is the exact opposite of usingthe huge hitbox actually,he got to swing when he's justright behind the survivor.

ISTG if they do an addon pass and also touch his base kit I'm gonna sue buvr for mental damages.
True,BHVR will find a way of running Blight because of the addon pass, look at billy as an example, people just wanted some addons to be tuned down a bit, looks at his state now

...so even with the MMR that killers are complaining about, killers are STILL winning 75% of their matches? I thought this game was survivor sided lol

MDR gives spirit wraith double windstorm speeds while being able to attack out of it. Cherry blossom makes any outplay potential of survivors during chase impossible since she always knows you are there. She can bruteforce a loop with MDR + Cherry Blossom in seconds with little counterplay

M2 on cooldown for 5 seconds lmao.
Run Alc Ring and C33 and profit.
Nobody legitimately thinks Alchemist Ring isn't busted, I refuse to believe that
@Aven_Fallen wants c33 and speed addons nerfed too,not "just alch ring ",and he always have this "you don't need it" phrase, like yeah,we don't but we want to use,and c21 already got a nerf, then we will get blighted tag (requires skill),and people will complain about it too. We'll end up with useless addons just like Nemmy,if suvivors have strong stuff we need strong stuff too.
The point of addons is to make the killer either stronger or bearable to play as
All of this addons add a bit of sweat into the build for Blight,if you want to win,it will help, but killers aren't allowed to want to win, then we get to a point, that killer's addons have been nerfed so much we have nothing to work with.
-
@artist said:
this was literally the first thing i thought of when i read the dev update today. how easy would it be to hook someone and launch crows at gens to force survivors to let go? obviously camp the hook because after forcing them to activate dead man's switch you'll know there's no gen progress being made.
take this a step further by running pain resonance, thrilling tremors, and starstruck with it.
pain resonance because it's already very good and it would instantly activate dead man's switch on the furthest repaired gen (at least i think it would, someone fact check me on that).
thrilling tremors so u don't even have to guess which gens are being worked on, aka more efficient use of your crows.
starstruck to make nearby survivors think twice about going for quick saves while you're setting up crows for dead man's switch activation.
often times when a player asks what to do when the killer is camping, they're told to go do gens but what do you do in this scenario?
Oh no,a killer have synergy with a perk and vice versa,we can't let that happen.

Ruin makes it quit hard to make new Regression perks as it is too easy to apply. Yes I know about the fact that survivors can cleanse it. But Hex: Ruin can still be quit the bummer especially for the lower ranks or in SoloQ.
Think about it this way: Cenobite himself is not that much of a problem for SoloQers. Cenobite with Ruin/Undying is pretty much a problem for them because the ammount of coordination gets too high. One person has to go after the box, one person has to take care of Ruin/Undying and the others have to do gens. Now if Cenobite goes after the person cleansing or gets his chainhunt going this will go downhill pretty quickly.
Hex: Ruin blocks many interesting regression options because you always have to consider if a perk could be too strong when you slap some Ruin into the mix.
@Dstorv : Very educated response. Got some more for my collection?
And what would be the nerf, exactly ?
