I don't like hooks; the time sink of transport, the counter measures for safe pickup, the opportunity survivors have to kill themselves, or managing hook #s and locations to prevent dead zones.
I'll slug and go for chases, if anyone dies it due to poor team altruism.
So you drag games out for like 20 + minutes? That seems... unnecessary

Almost like the killer should hook that survivor so the team has to rescue from hook. I know, crazy thought

But to be fair... why would you just leave the survivor on the floor? I don't see a situation where I would want to force survivors to come for the pick up. Especially when I know that the more they linger on the floor the more time they have to get to a pallet etc.
You would have to be slugging excessively and for long periods of time to notice a difference.
Because travel time is precious, so that's 45 seconds you can spend on a gen, and if your teammate wants to get up, they'll use 45 of their 4 minute timer

This is a God awful change coming up... I literally took a 9 month break and came back because I liked some of the changes the devs did, but now... I genuinely don't know what the devs are doing. They straight up crapped on killers with this patch note. It feels like the devs still don't understand killers. So many years survivors have been getting away with second chance perks then they get nerfed and now given back to them via basekit *sigh*
Idk man I came back started enjoying the game again but then the tunnel & camping meta started because the endurance and gen rushing meta started. Neither are fun but now the devs kinda made the game worse for killers on top of an already existing problem in the game with cheaters. Think it's time for another break already. I'll probably come back if the devs understand the major mistakes they're doing.
Wow, you took a 9 month Break?

If you think it will ever be 45 seconds outside of a player just not having bill leveled, thats a pipe dream. It will always be 22 seconds and not counting every swf being able to make themselves unhookable. This is a massive swf buff
I mean, I'm never gonna run unbreakable, I'll take 45 seconds easily

Devs - please look into this. Something is fishy. And I don’t think pinhead was balanced around being able to initiate his chain hunt at the start of every game. They are going right to the box at the start of at least 75% of my games. It ain’t right.
There's actually some tech to it, they can pinpoint it if they run lethal, because of how the spawning works, so if they see survivors, chances are the box is in the location that survivors are not

STBFL doesn't work on blink attack (you get the stack, but it didn't reduces your cooldown)
But the killer cooldown buff works for blink attacks right?

True. You know what else exists? A restriction that allows the killer to run no more than 4 perks. Also how exactly do you counter sabotaging hooks? Probably run agitation, right? Pallets? Well, there is bloodfavor. So now I have 1 perk slot left just because I basically have to ensure that I can hook the survivor immediately.
Killer is gonna be a whole lot less fun to play if this goes live.
I mean, why do you think they added those buffs for killers? So you don't have to run gen slowdowns... y'know, that thing people said they were gonna do

Yes but my point was that survivors got a basekit perk fullstop. killer did not, if you think it would be imbalanced for killers to get basekit 8 stacks of STBFL then i think its agreeable that its equally as imbalanced for survivors to get the full 10 second BT basekit no? (Trying to find common ground ty for discussing things!)
...I guess? I think I'm just looking at more so survivors never had a chance to get their bearings when they got off the hook, and the unhooker would sometimes get away Scot free, and it was really unfair to the survivor who just got unhooked, hence the BT basekit
Unpopular opinion: I feel like the 5 seconds was enough in that sense that the survivor got to at least move to a maybe tile, and if not, then it was on your idiot teammate for unhooking you when the killer is right there
-
@Legionair11111 said:

We didnt get the full perks basekit (borrowed time used to be 10 seconds now they get 10 seconds basekit) if we were to get brutal basekit then we would shred pallets 1.87 seconds (40%) faster than the usual 2.34 seconds.
I mean, yeah, that just proves why they get small changes, can you imagine a nurse with a permanent STBFL 8 stack?
-
@Legionair11111 said:
The developers have already implemented a basekit Borrowed Time perk to survivors so that they cannot be tunneled out of the game as a killer tries to push his objective, but now they are thinking of implementing a basekit Unbreakable?
This to me is way overkill, especially since we have yet to see the killer side get any of the same treatment of a free perk at basekit. I mean the least they could do is make Shattered Hope basekit for killer but sadly killers arent getting any of these "here is a free basekit perk" treatment.
IN MY OPINION (dont get to worked up), I believe if survivors get borrowed time AND unbreakable at basekit, then killers should at least get Shattered Hope and Ruin at basekit as well, this would mean BOTH sides get special treatment for free perks and one side doesnt get visibly favored. Thoughts?
We did... it's called brutal strength and STBFL

The survivors are able to begin recovering the second they are downed. Therefore, the timer will start the second that Victor downs them and begins the atrocious 5 second cooldown.
So... Victor has to stand there for 5 seconds.... seems very unnecessary

I don't get why they made unbreakable basekit when it should've been kindred instead, now killers like Oni and Twins and tier 3 Myers are literally pointless

@DoritoHead said:
Downing a survivor with Victor= 5 seconds
Switching to Charlotte= 3 Seconds, so that’s 8 seconds after every down.
Time for survivor to pick themselves up off of the ground = 45 seconds, giving you 37 seconds to pick the survivor up, not factoring in teammates or medkits.
Now, let’s say the survivor has Unbreakable. That makes it take 22.5 seconds for them to pick themselves up, giving you a grand total of 14.5 seconds to pick up the survivor, not factoring in teammates or Medkits.
Thanks for coming, and remember: Twins are monsters at High MMR!
What do you mean downing with Victor? Wouldn't the timer start after he downs someone and switches to Charlotte? So the first 5 seconds doesn't apply? Not trying to be mean, I've just haven't seen Charlotte enough to know all her timings

Do you think this update will -actually- go through considering how killer-sided Behaviour is?
You mean how they demolished thanato because survivors complained?

Before 6.1.0: Borrowed Time used to be 12 seconds endurance with no haste but took up a perk slot.
Now: 10 seconds endurance plus haste (arguably better) as base kit.
Now: 1 Unbreakable on a team is enough to give the entire team a second chance after the killer slugged everyone.
Post 6.3.0: Good luck even getting the entire team down with 45 second base kit Unbreakable.
So with BHVR handing out meta perks like candy every 3 months what perk would you like to get in 6.5.0?
Adrenaline? Kindred? Circle of Healing?

I just want someone to find a game breaking bug on Nurse so BHVR can kill switch the woman for a month or maybe more.
man remember when she got killswitched it was a good time to play SoloQ survivor granted there were still some issues yes as always while playing SoloQ but you used to see more killer variety which was refreshing.
now the only killer I see is this broken toy with Agitation + Starstruck plus Midwich offering to make sure the sweats that are playing her 4ks at 5 gens against a SoloQ team.
some people here are fine with the idea of Nurse being the strongest killer in the game for 6 years now in others PvP games the meta always change and is rarely stale(Look at overwatch)in DbD fking Nurse was and still is meta 6 years after her release which is MIND-BOGGLING right ?
Granted double shield meta lasted for like 2 years in Overwatch but still top 500 players knew that this meta was boring so sometimes you could see the old classic Rein + Zarya duo or some one of my favorite tanks duos was Sigma + Hammond,now even in higher ELOs you see alot of variety double bubble (Winston + Zarya) etc lot of fun comps...
anyways yes BHVR pls nerf Sally ty.
The only thing I see is torb sym defense where I am

Yeah, Billy has a nice set of begginer perks that you should use when starting out, just so you get a feel for everything
Not saying these perks are only good for new people, heck even with 2k+ hours I still use lightborn because funny, but tinkerer lets you get a solid ground for gen speeds, how fast they go, ect, and enduring lets you be more aggressive in chases without much repercussions, all and all, he really does have very good perks for starters

I'd rather get 4 beamers than 4 medkits or 4 toolboxes any time of the year,,the only way flashlights can be abused is double locker saves where literally there's nothing the killer can do to prevent a beamer save as long as survivors can get the timing
You could run lightborn
-
@BrightWolf said:
I know I know, another "I hate flashlights" post. But I need to vent. You can flame me in the replies if you want, but please just let me rant.
I'm new to killer, (after playing the game as survivor for a little over three months). I'm not good at it, but I'm learning and I'm having much more fun as killer than I did as survivor when I'm not against really good survivors or a swf.
Anyway, I'm still learning a lot of ins and outs of the game. Which map offerings take me where, the layouts, gen pressure etc. I have lost count of the number of times I get turned around on RPD and The Meat Packing Plant, blah blah, blah. Preamble out of the way.
I hate flashlights, well not so much the mechanic itself. I just hate how spamable and easily abused it is and how the killer can be pre-stunned midway through performing an action, like picking up a survivor or breaking a pallet. This is especially evil on open maps, when you can't look anywhere, up or down because you get immediately -locked into a direction.
I literally came from a game where all four survivors were a very obvious swf, as they were swarming gens, swarming downed survivors, swarming pallets, swarming hooks to body block. Pretty much doing anything but gens. At one point I was stunlocked with three or four flashlights. I. Could. Not. Move. I was literally being blinded from angles that shouldn't have because two of the survivors were behind me in my peripheral vision, which really shouldn't count, but for some reason it does.
Honestly, I don't know what the devs could do to stop the abuse of flashlights. But I do think they should make a change so only one flashlight at a time can stun a killer and only from the front, not the side or behind.
Anyway, I know what I said above, but I have a couple of suggestions about how to deal with the ability to rapidly click the flashlight on and off or even during a flashlight save.
1) Adding a cooldown from when the flashlight is first activated to when it's turned off again, like not a long one, but enough that you can't spam it anymore.
2) Have it decay faster the more you use it, even with add-ons.
3) You must be head-on to achieve a successful flashlight stun/save.
Anyway, as I said above, feel free to disagree with me. But if you have any advice, I'd gladly take it. Also, in before "Git Gud". :P
Lightborn, done, problem solved

It's only 3. Each survivor has 10.1 worth of stalk.
It takes 5 stalk to go from T1 to T2, 5 stalk to go from T2 to T3, 10 stalk due to Tuft, 10 stalk due to Judith's for a total of 30 stalk points.
That's still alot of leeway before Micky can get his tier 3

I don’t have an issue with Tombstone Myers but this isn’t always possible. Last two times I was killed this way. It wasn’t even me feeding him.
Fine... have teammates that have eyes, as far as I know, it takes 3.5 survivors to feed him with Judith's, so like...if you guys fed him that much, you weren't gonna win anyways

The story goes like this, so gather around!
While developing Nemmy they tried an Iri add-on that would spawn in a third zom zom. Apparently it tanked game performance so badly they scrapped the idea and changed the add-on.
Now assuming they develop their game on bad-azz PC's, what hope is there any of the consoles or lower-end PC's could handle that? Imagine what would happen to our poor Switch cousins, their machines would prolly melt.
Doesn't nemmy have an iri that spawned all zombies defeated from pallet smashes or tentacle strikes respawn when the exit gates opened? Or was that a long time ago?
-

Well they are adding bots to custom matches soon (maybe even next midchapter if we're lucky!) If those bots work out well it wouldn't surprise me if they consider applying their pathing AI to things like the Nemesis zombies, different types of pets, and also maybe consider eventually replacing disconnected players with bots. (In fact DbD Mobile already replaces disconnected players with bots and it seems to work pretty well. The bots aren't as good as humans but they're better than no player at all!)
Can't the mobile team and steam team get together and be like "So John... how'd you add that AI" Lol

@RavenzZ said:
Now I know that there is no real defined "win" in Dead by Daylight. Most (and I think I saw somewhere maybe the devs said) that a win for killer would be 3 kills, for survivors 3 escapes, and a tie being 2 for both sides. I still think that a lot of people classify a win a lot differently though, and I'd like to know how everyone else does classify it. I personally lean towards the amount of bloodpoints being a win. If I escape as a survivor and only make 10k bloodpoints then I see that as me losing, as I wasted time for very little reward, but if I die with 20k+ bloodpoints I see that as a win because even though I died, my time was worth it as I was rewarded more largely. It's another reason why I think that escapes should count for less bloodpoints than they do now, and all in-game actions count for more.
If I'm able to get everyone above 20k BP before my flan is applied (killer) than that's a win for me

I regret doing it even if a lot of people use them and they told me that now nothing bad can happen about this. Can someone make me so that I am not scared anymore? I don't want to lose my progress and I want to still enjoy playing the game without freaking out. Everyday I think of that and it's been almost a year
From what I understand, that anti cheat thing hasn't ever actually banned anyone from using those, that warning is just necessary so people don't get any dumb ideas.
Although IIRC BHVR did say that if they did ban you, there isn't anything they can do, again, probably just a false warning, but if you already deleted the files you are more than fine
