Hmm..the hatchet fos drops suck..but even with those she still has more going for her than nurse rn
I feel differently. I personally feel that nurse can do better than huntress right now on console because of her less frequent Frame Drops. As far as powers go... Nurse might as well be old Freddy
-
Aside from people arguing with you because you played nurse and used meta, i agree with you. The matchmaking with ranking is #########. I rarely play swf anymore and when i do, its just my really Good friend and no one else. I hate as a solo player when im matched with a lot of low ranks and they literally ruin the game for me. They get me killed because they don't know what working together means. Its also really annoying when i play killer and I'm stomping a bunch of potatoes. Im always in purple ranks as survivor/killer because i dont play enough to get to red ranks. So i stay around rank 5-6. Also doing some challenges hold me back from ranking up. I also can't stand people being carried to rank 1 by their friends and constant hatch escapes because they urban evaded the entire time. I hate seeing rank 1s who are just as bad as the rank 15s.

In my experience playing killer on console isn't that bad. I have my sensitivity turned to max and I don't have problems getting 360'd or aiming hatchets. I think nurse is rather difficult being able to spin rapidly enough but I think she's just as hard on PC. I'd say PC makes it a little easier to turn and follow survivors but I really don't feel like I'm being hindered by the joysticks. Huntress is my favorite to play just because I've played enough CoD in my life to be pretty good with the hatchets. I'd say most people who talk ######### about playing on console haven't played it much.
I will say though there is frame stutter that isn't in a lot of other games. The game is definitely not optimized on console but it doesn't make it unplayable. I kind of wish they gave us options to turn down the graphics to improve the stutter but they only want people to see the nicest looking graphics
I would agree. Nurse is playable on console and has always been tbh. People just don't want to learn her. I was a constant 4king nurse console because not many people really knew how to play against her as well as she was a fine killer to play. She was effected by the optimization on console in comparison to pc as i played both a lor. dont play her anymore though, her new changes bore me with her basekit. Huntress does lack because of sensitivity and fps but not harshly.
People who say console is trash typically don't know what theyre talking about. However, to compare player between the 3 main platforms on did... Pc is the best.Xbox is second best in terms of players and optimization. Ps4 isnr great because out of my experience... I bought a ps4 to play with friends on dbd... It was bad. Almost every player is skilless (in my experience!) And the optimization is just sooooooooo bad. Some bugs that I have never seen before that have ruined my matches have come from ps4. I pray for you ps4 playerz
-
Sometimes it can be bad. The fps is real bad for some killers with minor things and theres terrible fps when getting bloodlust. I'm on Xbox. Most times i 4k, even vs swf, but i come across mostly 2 man swf and solos during the afternoon. Between 6-10 pm its most mostly 2-3 man with some solos, from 11-6 am its a constant full swf with very few solos. In my region the matchmaking gets really bad for survivor ques (even as solo) between 6pm-6am. During that time killers ques are fast asf. During the other times of the day the waiting times are flipped. Ive learned this to know what time of the day is most efficient for me to play each side so i can, dodge the try hards and the potatoes. Can I ask you a unrelated question? How do you feel about dedicated servers in their current state
-
with it being based around specific characters. I’d really hope for a huntress story and meg park story. That way we can have really interesting lore while also having really interesting challenges

Well sadly i agree there were good things, like better fps even though they are more unstable than before, Demo, best killer we had since spirit, but i agree for most part.. i play on console and still have huge problems, like fps drops and low sensitivity..no change about the core issues of the game, ruin and genspeed, still so much difference between solo and swf, still too many low tier killers... i don't care about freddy, we can't have one single low tier killer buffed in a year, i mean there are 17 killers i think but only 5 are viable
*18 killers.. but yeah its a bad year for the game. As far as testicle faced killers go, the Demogorgon is just so unplayed that he’s boring. I’m on Xbox, I get a Demogorgon every about every 2 weeks. Luckily i played against one this week, but the amazing part was that he was good. I mean this guy was a excellent Demogorgon player, played him like a chess game, and that made him cool. The problem for these new killers is that no matter how iconic they are or potentially strong they can be, people typically give up on them a week after release. Clown, plague, Demogorgon are great examples. I wouldn’t say oni just because personally he still feels fresh to the game. I feel like some of these DLCs are bought but only for perks most times anyway

Moris are the same as keys imo. Both need to be looked at in the future. If you think moris are worse than keys you probably never saw three people escaping through a closed hatch with a key. And that happens at red ranks. So you don't play killer and survivor at red ranks. So your opinion is not that valid for me.
You were making a decent point, but than you messed up by saying they didn’t play a certain rank so their opinion isn’t valid. That’s a dumb excuse for being closed minded to his side of the situation. I don’t agree with the thread creator, but I do agree Moris and keys should be looked at in future. Your lack of respect diminishes your point. The thread creators point of view holds more ground.

Just a one word answer, do you feel overall this game is a better, worse or same spot compared to Jan 1 2019?
let me answer because remember this game last vividly. It ran worse to the extent of bugs last year. That’s no understatement, I can recall many game breaking that persisted until May, because the lack of work on the devs part. The 2.4.0 update really ######### up the game this time last year, but as far as frames and hit registration (not on servers) it is much better now. That still doesn’t say a lot, because the game used to show frames like a 1870’s camera. Now it show frames like a PowerPoint :)

I don't quite understand why we are all getting at each others throats here. Yes, they weren't able to fully complete their road map but remember guys they have done a lot of things this roadmap.
More cosmetics, that plenty of people enjoy, more balances buffs and increases, nerfs things that improve the game quality. They've been testing out dedicated servers they even had a PTB to try and show they were making progress on it. They have made updates in the attempt to improve the functionality of the game on consoles, and people with low end PC's. And yes there are somethings that are still causing performance issues. Red woods, and maps of that sort with lots of fog and objects and such. But those are just things to be not every game touched runs absolutely smoothly especially with how many updates these guys have been pushing out regularly to attempt to fix and adjust frames and such. They release cosmetics pretty regularly they worked on the rift, and they continue with trying to make it the best expierence that they can for the players and im sure all they want is everyones support to do this.
On the road map they have done everything as far map changes, dlc releases, and The added Freddy rework (after 2 years of leaving him as a piece of #########). Still no servers on console, but even than console the lucky guy for once because servers are so ass that even god himself could not make them better. No real rank rework stuff yet, but that’s 2nd half of the year anyway but let’s be honest the devs couldn’t finish anything else other than ######### dlc’s this year so it probably got delayed. We did get rift, it’s bad mostly cause it’s the first release, but still there’s so many things that make me face palm when looking at it. Mobile is a different team, game still got delayed, and still sucks in every aspect other than it’s the only platform that actually runs at 60 FPS! Switch was a dead platform for the game before it even came out. Game health community satisfaction still below a majority 65% (estimated/exaggerated). The devs suck at their job. High hopes or not, they still never get ######### done. I mean #########, if everything has to be done 1 at time, with 50+ people only working on that one feature, major bug fix, optimization patch for it the specific big features to come not half assed, than do that instead.

Its not obvious that they are more glitches. Most games nowadays that get updated regularly, are the buggiest in their early stages, and get more and more polished on a technical sense. FPS improve, memory usage goes down (data compression), bugs get sorted out.
With Dbd that's not the case. In 2016 it was certainly buggier than it is today, but compared to 2017 or 2018, there is litterally no improvement made.

Bud, half of your points are completely subjective
Freddy is cool now, Nurse is still cool, Plague is fun to play as (more when survivors cleanse but i dont mind her just vomiting around), Demogorgon is fun too and a pretty underrated killer, and Oni, well clearly they ######### up at some point but they will definitely change that again [i hope], Yui is a cool survivor too, the challenges and the rift is a good idea, just clunky because it's the first one, hopefully the next one will be more fun, and never had any bloodlust dropframe so just change your computer
obviously there would be more glitches, is there any online game with updates that have none ? most of them even are fun (but the gamebreaking ones are a shame hopefully a big part of them get corrected even if they shouldnt even have existed in the first place) and even if i think the events should be better, well, between that and new content, i would choose the new content too
Tho I agree not having chapter releases every 3 months would be healthier for the game to improve the matchmaking essentially, and the balance, just like mid-chapters do right now (not the matchmaking part tho)
Bud, 98% of the threads on this forum are subjective in EVERYWAY. Yes, it is an opinion post about this past year in dead by daylight. Most people do agree with the majority of my opinions as so it seems. It’s not wrong for you disagree, but dude don’t come in the post, tell me what I said isn’t factual as if that’s a bad thing, and continue to say your opinion as if it’s fact. GTOMF

I agree 100%. Thank you for reminding me why i'm taking an extremely long break once this Rift is over.
I wish I had the will to do that. Sadly I have no life and dbd took advantage of that so now I’m addicted to the game even as much as I’m bored of it now. I really do respect that choice though as a player and a customer

I have to agree. 2019 is really the worst year of the dbd lifespan imo. Sad..
I also agree. That’s not to say the darks time dbd weren’t bad. They were terrible and I can’t believe the game survived. However, I agree because this is by the worst year on the devs behalf. Too many promises with very little to show for in the end.

But they didnt have a couple of days to fix everything. They had a whole year to fix at least a couple of longtime problems. They may have had not enough time to do all they intended, and thats understandable. But that doesnt excuse them from criticism.
We can disagree with the changes they have made. We can disagree with the approach they have taken. We can disagree with their mentality. All fair points to criticise and are far from "pointless hate".
For example, instead of having worried so much about the useless M1 consistency, they could have avoided so much negative replies. They could have instead focused on different and more pressing issues. They could have fixed stuff people actually complain about, rather than something no one cared about. So much to discuss, and this is a single topic. We could open several other cans of worms, such as the "fun" of certain killers and "fun" while facing them, the SWF issue, map designing and reworking, creation of perks, and so on. Plenty to criticise about stuff they did during this year.
(thread creator)
Thank you so much as I agree! There’s plenty of things to critique in the game and of the devs. The post was not originally set a sh*t post, however there’s some shade to be thrown. It’s not unreasonable and I’m glad that you back that up. the devs show a magnificently long track list of how many times they’ve failed deliver on multitude of things. Somethings from the 2018 year of dead by daylight are still on their list of sh*t to do. It is the end of the year and that’s why it time for us people to talk about what we were supposed to get and the result of the devs work since 2019 and the June (year 4) RoadMap.
TOO ANYONE READING: I’ve never heard anyone say that the devs could fix everything in a day, so before you use that as the backbone of your argument in the discussion than please get out.

To be fair with all the bad, and there's been a good chunk this year, The whole Ash thing and MoM made me quit the game for a while, It just put a bad taste in my mouth they were either that oblivious to original MoM or did it to sell Ash but anyways there was also some good.
We got the End Game collapse, Closing Hatch for Killer, DC Penalties (Kind of), a Change to SWF Matchmaking to make it more fair, Two Perks in Bloodwebs to lessen the grind and probably some more I'm forgetting.
I have no comment on the ash thing. I try to not think about it. On behalf of EGC, sure hatch is close nice but EGC still bring some problems to the table, but that’s why I left it unmentioned. I don’t believe helped the game nor hurt it for the most part. The grind still needs to be lessened. The devs can’t keeping trying sell characters if people can’t play the ones the already bought. For example, I buy every dlc on release day. Let’s use pig as an example. I bought her on release, but I haven’t played her since than. Not because I don’t want too, but due to 1) she’s not much of my play style 2) I have more fun with other killers that I still have to progress with. Everything 3 months it makes it increasingly harder to play those character I bought 2 years ago. For me the grind makes an extreme problem because it’s hard for me to enjoy all the content in the game that I’ve bought. I can’t imagine how new players feel even still. No dc penalties on console yet (where I am now). As far as matchmaking... no. Matchmaking is worse than it was this time last year. There’s a lot of variables that can effect the length of time you sit there matchmaking, but it is much worse now. Matchmaking with SWF is bad now, because it destroys solos. It is irritating as a solo player at ranks 1-6 to be playing, a SWF group join the lobby and one of them being rank 1-6..... BUT the other 2 survivors in the SWF group being potato yellow and brown ranked survivors.... while we face a rank 1-6 sweat Ghostface. It’s not fair. Not for solos.
-
@arslaN said:
I was really hoping for a ranking system rework this year. Red ranks were already full of potato survivors and it's even worse now with the rank reset changes. It's slowly killing the game (or at least survivor) for me.
That’s supposed to be what we should start seeing this next update. However, the devs are so backed up trying to fix bugs from 2016 and when they were in beta, while also trying to fix (although somehow worsening) the FPS... and being DServs. It’s mostly likely delayed because it’s not on their “priority list”. But it honestly looks like from the bhvr documentary on YouTube that they’re too busy working on lunch and their weekly Friday night drinking parties at work (yes they actually do that).

I die due to immersed players most times as a solo survivor. That speaks from the red/purple ranks. I expect better from a player than to cluelessly let me die on the hook after I just finished a long chase. I always run kindred so they don’t lack info when I’m hooked. The immersed survivor who typically does nothing is the worst killer in the game. If one survivor is being chased and is apparent than they should be hitting skill checks on gens while the chased survivor is occupying the killer. I recommend all immerse players to use bond as you can better direct yourself in game.
-
@Peanits said:
By other survivors? Mostly because people have had bad experiences with that guy that Urban Evades across the entire map while they're on the hook, only unhooking them after they hit second stage.
In terms of emblems, mostly because there's not a whole lot of skill involved in staying hidden. But that's a whole debate. Should someone who can't survive in a chase rank up and get even harder chases, or should they stay where they are where they have a better chance if they do get caught?
That's not to say that stealth is bad, but there's a time and place for it, and there's some people out there who can't tell when it's time to sprint in, and that tends to sour other people's opinions.
Well said
-
As a rank 1-6 on average survivor who plays solos, i lobby dodged everytime I saw people in my lobby who weren’t ever relatively close to my rank. For example, being a rank 5 and than a f*cking rank 12, 15,16, or 19 would join the lobby, than I would leave the lobby. I absolutely hate dying on the behalf of my team being almost completely inefficient while I’m being chased for long periods of time rather than dying on the behalf of the killer catching me out of skill/my mistakes. I still get those same potato a$$ survivors in lobbies, but I don’t dodge now because I don’t know what ranks they are. It’s a great feature, but it is extremely counter intuitive to have right now due to just how f’d the ranking/matchmaking system is anyway.

I’ve been one of two remaining survivors in a match where the other one DCs so I can get the hatch and frankly I don’t understand it. Are you really so against the killer “winning” (I consider a 4K to be the only true “win”) that you are willing to de-pip and get 0 points from a 20 minute match? It only makes sense to me when it’s SWF and one of them is on the hatch. Even then, I wouldn’t consider it a strategy, I would consider it cheating (coming from a survivor main).

Those two are completely different, slugging can be countered with unbreakable, while DCing is just an exploit.
Plus there’s nothing wrong with slugging. There’s still gameplay involved. When someone dc’s to throw the outcome of the game than it’s like being the guy who throws the monopoly board

Both chapters are cool. Stranger Things chapter is better in my opinion. However, I’d say the cursed legacy isn’t much different. I think they both lack certain interesting aspects to the dlcs, but eventually I would buy both (if any new players are curious)^

The devs (specially Stephan Horvat) has mentioned how they wanted to implement this. Granted this was a year or so ago. I’ve always liked the idea and the devs do too, but as you said it’s probably not even relatively close to the top of the priority list. I understand why it wouldn’t be that important to implement as a feature right now.

Kind of proves my hypothesis right, doesn't it? That an obvious joke, even as you think, would cause that much trouble?
With my experience, everytime there’s a discussion and someone takes it to heart (mostly because it applies to them and they don’t know how to laugh). Than they’ll make a comment and some killer main gets upset. Than boom it’s an entire thread of back and forth hate messages.
