There shouldn’t be two modes as far as “ranked matches” and just a casual mode. The matchmaking is already bad enough and that would only make it worse, especially for consoles. It would work if there was cross-play and actual optimization made. However, SWF should be knocked down to a maximum of 2

It’s not just ps4. I have 2 hammers and 2 Kate tips. 1 of each that I earned and the other 2 are duplicates

can someone explain to me why so many red rank survivors like to self care in a corner of the map? wouldnt it be more efficient if you were healed by someone else ?
Or just did a gen instead of healing themselves. Increases the chances of survival by a great deal. Healing in corners is likely to get everyone killed

I have my main killers that I play more than others, but there’s also killers I have a fairly high kill rate with but I don’t play them. It’s just about trying to have fun and getting challenges done for at this point
-
Didn’t read the paragraph, just the title... but don’t worry... I get defeated by survivors too

I agree, they really did a great job with explaining everything and how there are some things they really don't have control over. Showing diagrams and actual gameplay for Killer and Survivor really put things into perspective that was easy to understand. I really enjoyed the stream today and the devs did great. 👍️
Your a positive Pete and I love it. I’m glad you can agree

@youarewronglol said:
are you telling me they did a stream giving excuses for why the game is bad instead of plans to make the game a little less, broke?
No they explained why things are bad and how they need to fix it, but it’s still a process none the leas

I think billy is fine. He needs his addons reworked to fit that standard now, but even then his addons are op. Maybe a slight number nerf to “instasaw” but other than that.. he’s fine. He’s not commonly used on Xbox anymore, so it’s not like he’s overpowering by population either. That might vary on other platforms, but it’s not like pc was with a massive amount of nurses. Or how we had a extreme amount of spirits. He’s fine.

If one more person implies the only way to win as killer is to get 12 hooks imma lose it
No one is implying that 12 hooks is a win. It’s just the max number. Survivors shouldn’t be able to finish 3/5ths of their objective in the time that a GOOD killer can down a DECENT survivor due large maps, many pallets/vaults/loops, and bad rng. You can’t act like that’s not a problem. The devs don’t even have set standard of what a technical win is, but survivors should not be able to escape so easily for holding a button and hitting “skill” checks. It’s like when people play Palpetine in Star Wars and act like that was fun game cause they held a button to get kills, or in this case “win”. Maybe if survivor gameplay actually required skill while doing objectives instead of slight amount of “teamwork” and an infinite supply of crutches... maybe this game would more enjoyed and there would be less people constantly pissed off by the state of this game. Also, it’s a horror game... I shouldn’t be laughing at killers as much as I do when I play survivor. Let’s face it, survivor gameplay is more stale than ever and killer gameplay is more irritating than fun. The only thing keeping this game alive is this false that the devs will actually ever sit down and think about to their job. Goodbye.

1/5th? For me it is 2/5th or 3/5th.
I will say though, I have been starting to let the furthest gens go, and protect 3 or 4 near me, and even though I lose 2 or 3 gens earlier, I have been able to slow the game way down once they go for those last 2 gens. If I was a better killer I would probably get more kills, but this as made the game a little more fun for me.
Lol it was a typo meant to be 3/5th. It won’t let me change it rn

Do you think the last things I mentioned don't affect queue times? If survivors are all bunched up at red/purple ranks then queues will suffer unless killers are also bunched up at red/purple ranks. Killer queue time being fast is probably due to the killers' ranks being misidentified as corresponding to the ranks where survivors are all bunched up. My point is that yes there is a lack of killers contributing to queue times but no there is no lack of killers overall. There are just too many survivors at the same rank while killers are relatively evenly spread out.
Well that’s why the devs are removing rank from even applying to the matchmaking requirements. So rank will literally mean nothing anymore accept as a personal goal for players. So soon, matchmaking will not be affected by rank. Currently tho, rank does affect it but not greatly... other the point you made with most survivors being bunched up at the same rank which is causing odd cue times.

@Waffleyumboy said:
I totally agree with this logic. This means the devs are killer biased because instead of focusing on survivors 80% it's closer to 50/50. People also forget that it's almost impossible to have a shortage of killers due there needing to be less than 20% of the playerbase playing killer. There's no way less than 20% of players are playing killer, queue times are caused by swf matchmaking, survivors' easy emblems/pips, and miscellaneous matchmaking errors(misidentified ranks could be a factor?)
I’m not sure about the last part you said, but I’m thankful opened minded to the truth of how things are^

@Hoodied said:
DBD will also die if you have no killers as well
You have to care for both sides, not just one
No one said that the devs didnt care about killers nor did I. The point to be taken is that you have to realize there is going to be more favor for survivors over killers for the survival of the game. If the killers were in positions that survivors are in right now and vise versa for survivors than this game would die in matter of moments. Yes, it dumb asf but it’s the truth behind why the devs do what they do.

She’s fine. Ik because she’s barely different from before as far as being efficient. I stopped playing her after the change and then came back to her. Her cool down barely effects the gameplay

That’s actually good. It gives survivors more chance to actually have the wiggle bar for a reason other than points. Not saying that killer nerfs are good, but it’ll make the flow of the game slightly better... minus the death of old ruin

No, because it’s dumb and who has the time for it

I dont play him unless i have dailies or challenges he is required for or useful for. However, i love playing against him. He is by far the most fun to play against most days only because he is so durpy. He is strong on small maps, on bigger maps he is terrible. Maps need to have a standard maximum and minimum size so that all killers have universally the same potential with map pressure (by walking, not using powers to travel faster). When i play leatherface i have a lot of fun. Its very satisfying to down people with his power and on maps that arent the size of Europe... I typically do well with him.
I stopped playing the game recently, But i still keep up with it.

Saying we don't understand is dumb. Us veterans weren't always star players. You should learn to get good at the game as everyone else had too.

Nah. I'm gone. Part of the reason im quitting this game is because ive done everything in this game so much that its boring. Over 3 years is a lot of time to do stuff. On top of that, this community makes my stomach hurt sometimes... Like literally. I can't lie a major factor in my departure is because poor decisions of the devs. Granted not everyone can be happy about everything, but some stuff amazes me how they continue to f*ck up again and again. The devs track record hasn't changed and makes me have less faith everytime. I don't really care about the ruin change, but its definitely going to have a major negative impact on the community while also the game. Maybe ill try in a year and see if things are what I've been hoping for. Honestly, i just don't want to play anymore.

Adding a proper options menu.
DS becomes disabled after all generators are completed/EGC has started.
Fixing totem spawns Crotus Prenn Asylum.
Nerf the main building on Crotus Prenn Asylum and distribute some of the pallets from the main building to outside, so there are less dead zones.
Nerf the god window on Crotus Prenn Asylum.
Nerf the god window on Rancid Abattoir.
Nerf the god window on Iron Works of Misery.
Nerf the god window on Creek of Torment.
Nerf the god window on Cowshed.
Remove one of the two windows on Wretched Shop.
Change it so totems cannot spawn within a 24 meter radius around the survivor. If this is not possible for all five totems, then spawn them wherever and try to apply the same logic to all available hexes.
Smooth out Clown's bottles with dedicated servers to be more consistent and less buggy.
Rest of the time would be spent on general optimization and bug fixes.
Well said

I’ve already stated I rarely ever slug, tunnel or camp... I try to hook everyone 2-3 times because you’re right that is how everyone gets the most points.
But some people feel the need to split because the survivors all brought toolboxes and are cranking out gens. A killer who loses in 5 minutes isn’t going to get many BP
Yea, but my issue is... I play solo. I carry my own ass to rank 1. Along the way, i get potatos on my team every game. Typically the dead weight potatos who got boosted by their one friend who actually is good. I don't take in items because I hord. However, my potato teammates are much less of a threat. My problem is my teams and the greed of the killer which causes me to lose in 5 mins.
Be real tho. If the devs would just normalize 2x bp like battlefront 2 than it wouldn't be an issue. Greed wouldnt be much a factor. Instead the devs pull a 2x bp event out their ass every few months and everyone gets just so grateful that they go from slightly cival players to filthy human beings... Over a point multipler. 2x bp ruins the game.

Double bp makes it worth it to me though.
Wow the 500 points you got from crawling on the ground in the killers terror radius for 5 mins til you bled out just doubled to make a total of 1000 points.
-
@TheBean said:
gah.... I can't read all the posts...
But what do you expect? The same every other night. You just wanted it easy during double BP so you could get a bunch of points.
One thing is simple.... You want the points... Play killer and take them. Get those points.
That's the thing, its like an hour que time for me rn. Im not going to waste an hour on a chance for some ######### match

How is the killer being greedy? By doing his best with the options available? You don’t want killers to slug, which is one of their stronger tools to secure kills? What are you giving up? Do you purposely work slower on gens, no you do your best.
You get more points as killer for actually playing your objective and survivors get more points when they can actually play the game and not crawl

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/117115/double-blooppoints-makes-this-community-suck
I agree, in fact I see survivors doing GEN GEN GEN... do they have any other play style during this event?
All seriousness, no one on either side is required to play any different than usual during double BP. Play as normal, do your best and accept double what you would have normally gotten.
Why do people insist on others farming during this event?
Who said I was insisting ob farming.its boring. I havent had a game today where my mates have done gens because solo survivor doesnt allow good teammates. They haven't been rushing #########, but killers remain greedy
-
Ok for me it depends. If im trying to farm with one guy than ill mostly leave the others alone. I may use them for points, but won't kill them. Although, they usually get mad and kill themselves.
If I'm not farming and I'm feeling nice, ill sometimes have a favorite in the match. By favorite, i just mean that there's like one guy who doesn't seem like he wants to be a total piece of sh*t. If i have a favorite in the match than I let him/her build up some objective points before I kill them or i may even let them go. I always let the baby players walk around and kind of figure stuff out as well.
-
I also refuse to use them and moris unless its for a specific challenge. Which sucks to have to use them for those reason. Lol I didnt even use instant heals for years cause they just.. They were too strong to have fun with. I agree with your balance ideas for the keys.
-
@Waffleyumboy said:
New player queue times as survivor are that long?
Yes they can be. Sometimes they're better, but most times waiting on a game as a new player will take so long that their clothes go out of style ;)
-
I personally am unbothered by the add-on. Its been used on me before, but technically it is as fair anything else. Iridescent Head huntress is typically much stronger than your average 3 Iridescent Head Huntress. Granted it would also depend on the skill and knowledge of the killer the person has who is playing hillbilly or iridescent head Huntress. I mean the add-on has only made me kind of irritated before, but i always kind of annyoed prior to that game.
I like the idea of requiring a full charge for the instant down

Moris are a useable offering to kill one or more players if you hook them.
Hatch is a mechanic to prevent endless games and standoffs.
Yeah totally comparable.
Well. They're comparable when discussing keys and moris

I disagree. I have been playing huntress on xbox just fine. Im rank 4 and i play on 50 sensitivity and i think that she is really good if you can read survs.
Whispers, nurses calling, bbq and chili, and ruin are all you need. That and really good aim. And you need a steady connection.
I have good, steady connection, but i play her at 100 sensitivity. Im not having trouble with aum, builds, or anything else. My issue is the costly frame drops ive been getting. I had said this may not apply to everyone, but it is the case,for me. ^

Yes she does. Didn't disagree. However, she still suffers heavily at least for me when i play her. I don't typically have a lot of frame issues in other games or as bad of issues with other killers in the game

That wasn't a question. It wasn't a response to what they said. They were talking down to them for disagreeing that huntress is worse than Nurse. I'm not going to argue with you and get this thread locked. Good day.
In what way did i talk down to them? Their response had very little to do with what was asked. I asked about optimization of the 2 in comparison, not how the killers work. You are making an argument out of nothing

I mean I'm sure it works great for you. That's why i said that this probably isn't for everyone, but im sure some have the same issues. However, its a major issue on my end because the game is crippling me as a player in those common instances. That's why its a problem. In the mean time, I just play anyone else but her
