The Thana change is more fake than aynthing else. On Plague survivors are forced to choose between two disadvantages: cleanse and give her a lethal power, or dont and play this game for 20 min. On any other killer youre basically forced to run healing perks, but hey, self-care got trashed. And a legion just laughs at any healing action. On most other killers thana is hopefully quite dead, which is a good thing gameplay-wise. On those two killer its still the most oppressive thing. -> Nothing achieved in regards of Legion and Plague. Another prime example on how BHVR claims to address issues while not addressing those issues.
MoM ... nothing to be said. Its HILARIOUS. How to make a already dead perk becoming a myth to be ever used.
And hey. BHVR logic again: "We want to change the meta" ... this obviously just works for survivors if killer even get their stupid DMS/PR combination back instead of FIXING whats wrong with their new "unforeseen combination".

So make it useless on everyone? No thanks
Nah, lets cling to your crutches.

Why not? Its a survivor perk.

@ThatOneDemoPlayer said:
It's worse, and the combo wasn't even meta pre-patch
It was probably the most played combination pre-patch. And now its even better as DMS can basically be activated without cooldown.

Knee-jerk reaction cause of ... no feeedback? BHVR did BHVR things again.

BHVR logic at its best again.

That's a good thing, too, because otherwise DS would be more meta again, and the developers don't want that.
This argument works obviously only for survivors.
-
So we can have even more of a tunneling meta?

Ok, so let's balance the game around the 99% of the players. Let's look at the most recently released data then:
https://i.ibb.co/VS3VByW/killstats2022.jpg
So, this data is from 2021-2022. We can likely assume that the kill rates either dropped below 50% pretty significantly, causing the devs to decide to buff killers as a whole, or that they shifted their idea of balance and are aiming for like a 60% kill rate or something else. Either way, if we look at this chart and want to balance for the "average player" looks like we need to:
Buff the nurse
Buff the twins.
Nerf plague
Nerf pig
Nerf trapper
Nerf myers.
Do you agree with all of those?
Youre just assuming something changed. With no evidence. And youre doing exactly what the Devs did: looking at numbers with no reasoning, cause even your "proposals" make no sense.

It was and probably still is heavily survivor sided when playing against a decent SWF team or at the highest levels of play.
The last time they released data it showed most hovering around 50% but that was averaged out at all ranks. Perhaps they took a look at high level play and saw the massive disparity there. Or the numbers dropped significantly at some point.
Who cares for less than 1% of the gameplay? This isnt a competitive game. Breaking the game for 99% just some people want to 4k in high MMR? Surely not.

To put things to rest immediately, I play both sides equally. I have nearly 3K hours (yeah not as much as you 15K monsters) but I can safely say that this patch shows just how much survivors relied on being overall busted for 6 years straight. There are so many players just not playing the game because they can't get gens done and bully the killer at the same time now and seeing so many people complain about it is honestly awful to see. The reason the kill rates were so low was that survivor was busted for 6 long years. Thinking otherwise is just... Showing how blind you are. The devs finally said "Alright, we're gonna make changes for the better." And now this game is actually balanced! Yet so many players are literally trying to change the stats so they revert it. Unfortunately the only thing to say to these survivors is... Get good lmao. It's as simple as that. Stop being childish and complaining over huge changes that were bound to happen if the devs cared about the game.
Low killrates? Over 50% is more than enough. Some killers were even higher. If you think survivors were busted, there is no help, cause there was no evidence. The game is acutally the most unbalanced way since years, buffing one side to the top while trashing the other has nothing to do with balance anymore. stop being unreasonable.

Here we go with our tinfoil hat again.
-
Are you guys okay? Youre the next one naming survivors as cheater. After one week of no arguments on your side you now completely lose your minds? tinfoil hat deluxe?

Another thread completely ignoring any reasonsing. You did a pretty good job so far.

People that claim the patch was a disaster are the ones having the knee jerk reaction to change. I mean, they complain about tunneling, camping, etc etc Yet I see multiple perks/solutions to combat this and that. OTR does well vs tunnelers,Kindred/Kinship do well to counteract camping,BT is still very powerful of an anti tunneling perk except this one isn't self applicable, etc etc.
it's just a good bit of survivors not accepting that they can't be the power role for once,it sounds very shallow but that's honestly what most of it comes down to.
You should really work on your gamesense.
-
Yeah let's punish those who already have frustrations due to some unhealthy changes. And sure put hackers on the same level as those frustrated players. Comments can't get worse than this.

Healthy patch. Survivor propaganda. You're sure to go with this nonsense?

Oh hey there again.
Yes, there is an echo chamber right now. It's basically a whole bunch of people pouting. BHVR wanted to increase kill rates, based off their internal numbers. Screaming that you aren't escaping as much as you used to...a bit silly, as that is what was supposed to happen.
That is the definition of noise drowning out signal.
Also...why does your name sound so familiar?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3104900#Comment_3104900
That would be silly, because then they'd have to revert the Ruin and Pop nerfs otherwise you've basically buffed the hell out of survivors while the stated goal was increasing kill rates.
They said "a little bit". What they did was completely different. They also said to nuke slowdown meta. Guess what. They made it even stronger. Or they wanted to address camping and tunneling. And guess again. They made it worse. You're just trying to twist the facts to your advantage, but while trying you're unreasonable and have no arguments that aren't obvious fakes.

Good stuff. This is the correct attitude - right now you've got a lot of noise and it's hard to find a clear signal.
Give it a bit, see what the numbers look like.
Hahaha. 90% of the community is pointing out the same issues, and you think its hard to find a clear signal? That attitude is the biggest issue in here.

- Dead Hard was far too powerful and popular. It being used less often is a big plus.
- The buffs to some of the perks plus the extra gen times have made builds with little or no slowdown feel more effective. I've been running all sorts of chase related builds with no slow down for instance and it's great!
- The prestige rework was a huge windfall for me. I went from all my killers having 30-40 perks each to all of them having essentially every perk at level 3 instantly.
- Endurance after an unhook is a great idea. You can argue that maybe it should last a few seconds longer but it's definitely an improvement over not being in the game at all.
Dh was the only counter to s-Tier killers. Not a good change.
Long gen times are just frustrating for survivors. And buffed camping and tunneling.
Prestige rework is a huge letdown for newer players.
Bt basekit didn't change that bt is still mandatory. Its just useless as it is and blocks other perks that should work for those situations.
Like I said. Most changes have negative effects. The whole patch lacks oversight.
-
That's the normal amount of blood points for a prestige. So what's your issue?
-
Or you can be of more use if you do gens.
-
Killer players tend to be the most lazy playerbase ive ever seen in any game. they think they deserve a 4k every game without having to pay any sweat into how to play a character and just serach for the most easy ways of playing to achieve their entitled 4k. thats why killer players are far more worse in skill than survivors, who are also mostly not even good to begin with even though the fundamentals are so easy to understand. also killer get hard carried by gameflaws and now even by anything else. base mechanics? hold your hand now. perks? hold you hand even more. devs did pretty much everything to make playing killer the easiest and most braindead experience possible. youre bad at this game? who cares? just play killer and win even against better players with ease.

????
Are you serious?
The dead hard being gone makes the whole killer game play feel glorious.
Killer game is already stupid braindead right now. There isnt even any sweat to be put in. I can basically cook meals while playing killer. Hows that a good thing if youre not completely entitled?
-
I just recently reinstalled Apex to not play DbD. Devs actually dont deserve any players playing this game at the moment until they fix their mess again. And i dont want to play just out of habit anymore.

Excluding the following:
- Camping
- Tunneling
- Bad teammates in solo Q (not doing gens, cant loop etc.)
Because all the complaints always go to to these aspects when these have always been apart of the game...
Yes camping and tunneling need to be addressed, and solo Q will always be bad because the SBMM system sucks...
So what exactly is the issue? Longer gens? Because all killers did was swap gen regression to longer gens to have the same outcome..
DH nerf? DS nerf? While I hate the DS nerf you shouldn't feel the need to rin it (I understand why DS has all been on my build) but that goes into the tunneling issue again and not the actual patch.
The question is: what did they even made better with this patch? Basically every change they did had a negative impact on something that was fine before.
-
@Dead_Harder said:
I mean yeah those boys are loud but you understand that completely being silent during chase was busted af right?
So completely trashing the perk was fine? They could have just fixed the perk by allowing breathing sounds and everything would have been fine. Now they just killed another way of gameplay completely.

Map tiles can very much be abused. Unless you think a potential tile layout that it is literally impossible for a killer to hit a survivor for upwards of 1 to 2 minutes isn't abusable?
They have a fixed amount of usage. If you think this usage is too long that a completely different topic. There is nothing that can be abused about a fixed usage.

I mean it is... so many people escaped games they shouldn't and now they dont have DH or their team dont have DH as well as the update pushing for everyone to contribute yeah.. it's a big reason
Saying that people escaped games they shouldnt is just taking guesses. DH didnt do anything for bad players as they didnt even know how to pull it off efficiently. DH nerf just effect good players as they now have less defense against S-Tier killers. Also most people are basically on the same MMR. High MMR is more a myth than reality, cause the matchmaking is just by far to vague. You see players that are highly skilled playing with low skilled players as a standard match. MMR does nothing here.

One thing might be specific map tiles that are too strong. There are certain specific loops in the game that are a bit too good, not necessarily infinite but that do take upwards of 60 seconds or more for the killer to catch up if the survivor runs them correctly. Whether or not a survivor is on a map that has such a layout is luck of the draw (unless they use an offering of course, and I do think map offerings should be removed entirely but that’s just my opinion), but when such a map is in play it’s pretty common for savvy survivors to take full advantage of them.
Map tiles cant be abused.
-
@Seraphor said:
What would happen is 2 other survivors would bait and loop the killer around the hook, pausing it indefinitely and giving survivor no. 4 all the time they need to crank out the gens.
We know because they tested this on a PTB.
So what? You can easily adjust this by make pre-conditions. Youre just repeating the same things over and over ignoring how to handle adjust this situation properly.
-
What can survivor abuse thats not tied to some addon or perk? Nothing. Killers get carried by those gameflaws.
-
MMR isnt an issue to justify the mess they produced.
-
If you had issues playing killer before midchapter it was a skill issue on your end. Also if you had high queue times as survivors before it just meant more killers were playing which would be quite unusual in most regions. Playing killer now just feels like cheating. Even the worst players get carried by the midchapter to 4ks. As survivor it just became a waiting to die simulator or you're that one survivor that gets tunneled first. It's completely nuts. Devs talked big and just made it really worse.

You are getting SO LITTLE value out of this perk that I would literally rather put every perk in the game on a piece of paper and draw one at random from a hat and run THAT perk instead of this one.
Yo get pretty much value out of this perk, BUT the perk isnt supposed to kill all pallets for you, as you think it would do. Youre just expecting something thats not realistic. You force the survivor to not use pallets, which is easier for the killer. Or you force them to waste pallets and make it even easier for you. Nontheless you get pretty good value out of the perk.

The patch is like throwing a bomb into a wood to chop some trees.

This last mid chapter patch was a big one, there were a lot of changes made including base changes. We are very well aware that it is going to take time for this to settle down and it's something that we are continually monitoring and if we see the need to make changes to things further down the line - that's something we will do.
However, we're not making knee jerk reactions here - if we do see things that we know are going to be an issue of high importance we will of course make changes in the planned Hotfixes, there might also be further changes made down the line depending on how things play out once players have had time to adjust to a lot of the recent changes.
Dead by Daylight is a Live game, it's continually evolving and changes made based on this. The plan of this update was to increase kill rates as those were lower than we would like. It will take some time to fully see the extent of the changes made, players adapt etc. This update and the after effects of this update is definitely something we are monitoring closely.
I guess I shouldnt have asked in first place as this answer was to be expected word by word. I had the hope bvhr once rethink their bad develeopment properly. But sure its always "knee jerk reactions" if the community gives reasonable feedback to unreasonable changes and demands actions that dont take years. I am sick of hearing "this will take time", "we watch carefully" and "if we see the need to change". You didnt even understood why perks were played and why those shouldnt have changed at all. You made a complete mess out of your gameplay. Fix it. NOW!

This isn’t my “opinion”. First of all, you need to understand the normal weekly patterns. Player numbers always drop after a weekend. Second, you need to understand how statistics work. You can’t draw a conclusion from this small of a data set (you said “throughout the last week” so I’m assuming you’re only looking at one week of data. Third, you need to take special events into account - things that artificially increase the player count from its “typical” levels, like the recent anniversary event and the new patch.
I suggest you start with the three-month chart, in which you can see the peak player count from each day. Today’s number is about 42K. That’s a similar number or even higher than recent weekday peak counts outside of the special events.
Look, I used to post about player count drops all the time earlier this year when the player count was actually dropping because I wanted to point out how BHVR’s actions (or inactions) were hurting their player count. But I didn’t throw out that claim without numbers (and context) to back up that claim, like you are now. You may be right that player count will drop if enough people are not having fun with this new update, but it’s way too early to make that claim and the stats don’t back it up yet.
Were talking about the player change since the Midchapter. Thats the last week. It makes no sense to look at numbers from 3 month ago. Your opinion was that the numbers are stable. Thats wrong as the numbers since last week are still decreasing. And i gave you something to think about, cause normally numbers increase again when a new rift drops. Also the anniversary event ended a month ago, those numbers arent interesting anymore as those have already declined over time since the event ended. Maybe youre the one that should learn how to read numbers.
