Voicechats doesnt change anything as you still cant filter out the potato players, which is the real advantage of SWF. With voice the bad players wont get any better, like even if you bring in kindred to help your mates see how the situation looks like, theyre still not doing anything useful. also voice is only useful if youre speaking the same language, which is pretty much not possible in most regions outside US.
-
Cause devs dont know how to balance the game properly even though they got massive feedback.

Protect myself from what? I'm inviting people to discourse with me and others when I make these. Or I'm venting. Either way, I don't see how protection fits into it?
Nah if you think what you do is fine.
-
Ah another one of your high quantity threads. Don't you think at some point you should stop posting like this to protect yourself?
-
The changes aren't even good in theory. And that's the biggest issue: just by reading the patch notes everybody with some kind of gamesense would have understood the consequences for the gameplay. So HOW did bhvr could have ever thought of releasing this even for a ptb? Why don't they ask their veteran foggies to take a look at it? None if them would have approved of this midchapter.
-
It's obviously the worst update in 6 years. Unreasonable and contradicting beyond everything. Not even gamebreaking bugs were so bad.
-
The midchapter just showed how much we can trust in bhvr to balance the game. The games were never so bad for killers as is is right now for survivors.
-
We had 3 weeks of ptb and people can read. It's like changing your favorite meal ingredients. Do you still buy them even if you know it tastes bad?
-
New meta is stacking 4 slowdowns for easy wins.
-
Solo Q is even more dead than before. Its already shown thousands of times that playing Solo or even duo is the most pain in the ass way to play this game. And now with those unreasonable and even contradicting changes it got way worse. There is no way to deny that.
-
Both nerfs were pretty much needed. But hey, you can still stack 4 slowdowns to have some easy matches, while survivors are just crippled on anything worthwhile.
-
How many more threads do you want to create this day?
-
Still not done with such posts and threads?
-
Maybe some more insight would be good for you.
-
Yeah yeah, grow up if you dont like frustation. Killers at this forum never fail to impress with such logic.
-
They thought 50k was fine on PTB. Everyone told them to remove it. They reduced it to 20k. You see how development works here. Pretty good job so far, I guess.

I think the main issue is new Off the record being straight up better in every situation. It’s a forced meta shift by the devs if I’ve ever seen one
How is OTR better? Killers just have to hit the survivor the second after an unhook to deactivate the perk.
-
BHVR wants to have a frustrating game. Thats the issue.
-
Its not like everybody knows already how bad this update is. So why not complaining about unreasonable changes? they didnt care much for PTB feedback, so what would change?
-
Yeah its so good we have plain out frustating game flaws. Dont let them be fixed to have some fun in a videogame. Yikes.
-
Its inda funny how especially killer players are just ignorant on how those changes will effect the gameplay. They just see killer buffs and survivor nerfs and are happy. no in-depth abilities at all. most of those changes are really bad gameplay-wise especially another 10s gen speed and several perks being trashed with no reasoning. and this patch will heavily affect player numbers on survivor side. but i guess bhvr just wants to flaten out the role numbers.

So... block Thana from being used on the only 2 killers who can actually use it effectively?
Youre not supposed to get a permanent 4stack effect from Thana.

If killers can't stand in front of the hook to deny the survivors the unhook why can survivors deny killers their hook by doing it. The hook should be accessible from all directions for both sides.
Survivor cant deny an hook. They can delay a hook. Totally different scenario as survivor pay a cost (getting a hit) while killers dont pay anything for blocking a hook.

Not a mod but I can answer this one...first of all, we do not just take feedback from the forums, we also have a lot of other platforms where we take feedback. This feedback is also discussed intently - I took part in the long meetings presenting this feedback, as that's my job.
When we go through the feedback from the PTB we're also very aware that there's a small number of people playing the actual PTB and please bare in mind that there's also no matchmaking on the PTB so all skill levels are together, which can sometimes skew peoples perceptions of things. So whilst we do clearly listen to feedback - the changes that we made from the PTB emphasises that point nicely....not all feedback can or will be implemented, as our Designers have to make the decision about what is best for the game overall.
Prestige icon feedback - we were very clear initially that this was not going to be something cosmetic, most people correctly figured out it would be something to do with the portraits based from that. The proposed portrait wasn't generally received positively so changes were made to it. We were always clear that this wasn't going to be a Legacy 2.0 outfit, nor was that ever the intention.
DS stun timer - the arguments have not been ignored, we've had some pretty lengthy discussions about them internally. This update was always going to be controversial due to the perks that we were changing, so we expected all of this. The fact that DS is used and the reasons why it was used were discussed. And we made the decision to go Live with the stun timer as it is, with the view that these things we can change in future if we find it's necessary.
We want to shake up the perks that people play with, keeping them the same strength would not accomplish that.
It's completely disingenuous to say we don't listen to feedback, when we clearly do - when we clearly have made changes based on that feedback. Of course we cannot possibly please everyone with the changes we make, as pretty much everyone has a differing of opinion. But I think we've shown time and time again that we do listen to feedback and it's not just from one place either.
So lets talk about DS as example as the the rest is most likely not much related to what I stated. You discussed internally the stun time. Okay. So what exactly made you think its not necessary to change it back if EVERYONE on this community said its needed with several arguments given and -not even literally- no counter-argument to be seen? This is exactly the issue here: your internal discussion completely contradicts all the given arguments and demands. Nobody can see any reasoning within this. If you would understand why DS is used, you could never make a change that makes that perk even more useless against tunneling than it already was in several regular circumstances.
Its like asking on the solution for 1+1, getting 2 as answers with mathematical proof and you decide internally its not right. reasoning? zero.
And another thing: nothing I stated is disingenous at all. Those are all facts that can be prooved by looking at the feedback and your dev updates/patchnotes. If you ignore 80% of the feedback, just on the major issues, its cleary ignorance of those feedback.
The actual development looks like the following: You change something thats not really necessary at all -> the community gives you massively argumented feedback on how thats not okay -> you make somehow even worse changes for 10% of the feedback and another 10% changes are like "we want it - you want it not - so we implement it nevertheless just with a small tweak, so be glad we even tweaked it for you". I dont see any necessity to give you any feedback if that how you deal with feedback.
-
You can use M2 to teleport straight ahead.
-
If killers even wouild use aurareadings Distortion would have a nice use, but as they just stack slowdowns its wasted.
-
The change doesnt do anything. Its just screams fake change.

Camping and tunneling are legit strategies that should remain as they are...
You can repeat your mantra every day, it still makes it not better.
-
How can survivors relax with tunneling and camping being buffed?
-
Like I stated several times: hook relocation, so killer have to chase survivors instead of watching a survivor on the hook.
-
Not anymore. The moment i saw that the only charm i would have wanted is behind a huge paywall it was over. Iam not gonna pay for skins i dont want just to get a single charm.

Because that doesn't work
Sure.
-
"I havent played the game for two years but i know survivors are OP" ... its surely not because youre bad after a 2 year break, right?
-
Easy fix: hook relocation. Still dont know why devs are so ignorant on that topic.
-
If anyone does this infront of me i just stop being a mate and play for myself.
-
They will be definitely worse than now as some players play less survivors and some players play more killer.

Yeah survivor main, enlighten us about how killers lack skills.
You should know best. LOL
-
Killer main showing off no game sense about the whole issues the patch will bring to the game. Pretty good job so far.
-
Its not about friend or foe. those are gameflaws making the game only frustating to play as survivor. youre basically hindered on playing this game as designed. So why are strategies like those only available on one side? cause theyre not strategies, theyre flaws.
-
Thats kind of a hard bait to sell more cosmetics of this collection. Especially the Scout Regiment Charm, which is probably gonna be wanted by MANY players, is basically behind a huge paywall. this is kinda worrying as this will be most likely the nmew standard on getting licenced charm, as we have no charm shop to get them alone by themselfs.
-
The whole patch lacks oversight. They contradicted themselves more than anything with this update.
-
Its sadly not about much harder, its about much more frustrating. And something like this shouldnt have happened if devs would have listened to their community about what was needed to be done.
-
95% of those who play SWF are playing with their friends. Creating perks for SoloQ only doesnt do anything for game balance.
-
Thats exactly the wrong way of development. You have to shut down the possibilties to camp and tunnel as it is now, cause this is just too simple to do and just frustrating for the other side. Afterwards you can try balancing out each side, but as long as you hae this flaws, its never gonna be better as people are just able to do it.

I have to say overall I am very happy with the July update and think BHVR, devs and mods deserve credit for listening to feedback and trying to please as many fans as possible. Definitely a huge step in the right direction imo.
The prestige system is great for long term players. When the update goes live I will have every perk for every character which otherwise would have taken me months.
My only concern is whenever a new chapter is released, we will now have to get the survivor and killer to P3 in order to unlock their tier 3 perks for the rest of the characters. I know this is still better than what we currently have, but overtime the grind is going to come back. I don't have a solution (other than removing tiers from perks) but wanted to flag in hopes the devs might take this into consideration and find a solution.
The grind will be always the same with each new chapter. You always just have to p3 the new characters to get all perks on all characters.

If the maps were designed better killers wouldn't feel the need to tunnel and camp.
Midwich is a nicely sized map and it flows and there isn't really a need to camp.
It's not a reason of cause and effect. How often needs this to be explained?
-
With actual rubber banding, bad hit boxes and the all-time latency the perk is pretty much dead. Another pretty good job so far.
-
How is it not fun to get any fine perk trashed and be forced to run unviable perks just for the sake of "changing the meta"?
