Do you not grasp that on certain maps where a low/no mobility killer is losing on a massive map might turn to camping to put pressure on survivors? Map balance will alway be an issue when it comes to camping or even tunneling.
A ghost face on the snow map (forgot the name) isnt going to be that effective trying to hide behind snow banks for stealth. So they may turn to camping or just proxy camping when they finally get a hook.
And anyone who has played RPD for more than 5 minutes knows that if you leave a hook on RPD, you might never see that survivor ever again.
Map balance affect game behaviour.
Tunneling and camping is not reasonable. People do it cause its possible, the easiest "play", and gives a guarantee to kills. And it annoys players. Its not an issue of any other game designs. Thise players dont care what killer or what map. That's why it's a flaw and needs to be fixed first. Unless the basic game mechanics are flawed like this, changing anything else is just bad development. You see that with this patch. It just gets way worse for everyone caused by the chain reaction those flaws create.

Camping and tunneling will always be a thing, devs already stated they won't make those strats impossible entirely, they will simply discourage it.
They buffed those issues. Pretty good job so far.

Many survivors play to escape and not to get points so it depends on what you call "normal". Gen-rush and gens-before-friends will certainly not max-out the points. It's pretty common for survivors to avoid interactions with the killer, especially at lower MMRs (but not limited to it) and that's certainly not helping.
When a killer does the equivalent (camping, tunneling) he doesn't get much points either.
survivors dont have it in their own hand how many points they can acquire.
-
Here we go again just generalizing SWF to be a Seal Team Six.
-
Legion and Plague are definitely not winners as nobody wants to play those matches anymore against them. Why would anyone want to play a potential 20 minute match? Playing survivor will now just be even more pain in the ass with all those stacking slowdowns, even more tunneling as its all defenses are crippled, camping being more popular as it now probably can even ensure a 3k. And killer are the loser as they wont find any matches cause of high players loss on survivor side. this patch has only losers.
-
It probably wont. At least - even though it still isnt a bragging reward as it shoud - it has a better fit to the game design.
-
Who cares for maps as long as something like camping and tunnel is an issue? Gameflaws need to be adressed first, everything else comes afterwards.
-
SWF doesnt make any difference with this.
-
Nice sarcasm.

@drsoontm said:
If you do gens, saves, are being chased, ... then you max out.
If you slam the gens and leave, probably not.
In normal gameplay you wont max out as survivor while killer could have easily double maxed out. Thats common knowledge.
-
Why? It totally makes sense that people who are p3 lvl1 get the same prestige level as people who are p3 lvl50 full perk. Or not? Nah, it totally makes sense.
-
Its now proven again, how much BVHR understand and reacts on given feedback.
Tunneling issues intensified with Midchapter: Who cares?
Camping issues intensified with Midchapter: Who cares?
Slowdown stack intensified: Who cares?
Prestige rewards being pointless: Who cares?
Crippling perks just for a change: Who cares?
Lets be honest. Everyone playing as survivor after Midchapter is probably just a masochist par excellence. Its really infuriating how much worse you could make already worse situations with just one midchapter patch for survivors. But hey its obviously that BHVR wants more players to DC or even quit the game. Otherwise you cannot explain such poor statements.
Are you serious @BHVR?

Of course they do, there is countless benefit you can get just by playing SWF.
They don't. It doesn't even work in hockey.

Actually yes, SWFs innately has dozens perk worth of advantage on top of reliable teammates, throw many solo q players there and most will be godlike.
Players dont get magically better just because they play in a SWF.
-
20s on an escape attempt would be hilarious.
-
Cause it was a wanted to change to those "i just rev my chainsaw all the time at all loops, cause nothing stops me from having a braindead time"-players. You just cant braindead play him anymore, thats what this change did. nothing more.
-
Pretending something that was obviously needed wasn't needed is quite special behaviour of killer players.
-
There is no skill in MMR. Its just a win/lose rating. The utmost poor design possible.
-
Nothing changed, same stupid matchmaking as always.
-
Before patch: 4 perks
After patch: 4 perks
HOW DARE THEY?
-
Just implement P-Head Cage Relocation to the base game hooks.
-
Flip Flop and Powerstruggle do like this.

This is incorrect as well, as new PR doesn't explode the gen anymore so DMS doesn't proc and you get no notification as to which gen it hit so you get no info on where to go to run survivors off of it to manually proc DMS. It's a good change imo, but it won't work in the manner you described anymore.
They didnt state that they removed the block-off effect, just the screaming effect. that would mean their statement would have been incorrectly worded as theyre different mechanics.

No, you're still wrong, because nit-picking to the point of absurdity serves noone. Or, you can't read. Either one.
Still saying I was wrong is kinda sad. They said faceamping with MS isnt possible. I told why it is still possible. Easy thing. But whatever. Some people just cant excuse their behavior as they just want to be right.

Grades arent used for matchmaking. Dont know why people still think it would.

Monstrous shrine turns off, you cannot facecamp with it, it is obvious what the person you replied to meant. There is zero synergy.
If you really are playing the semantics game it is an absolute waste of time.
Its hard to accept that you were wrong, right?

That's not facecamping, and smart survivors will just get off the gen before you hook
You will surely explain how standing infront of the hooked survivor is not facecamping?

Is it fun to make such threads nearly every day?

You cannot facecamp with the new monstrous shrine. It's literally cooked into the perk.
Edit: I didn't put any words into your mouth, I didn't use anything other than the Quoting function.
Than read again and just read what i referred to. Nothing of this is wrong at all.

How do you get this far in a thread, where one person was already corrected on monstrous shrine, admitted to being corrected, and then you go and spread the same incorrect assertion?
I just want to know how you get here, why post if you won't read.
So, show me which part of my post is not correct? I would really like to see that. And dont lay words into my mouth i never used.

So as a survivor main you should be able to just run over the traps with no downsides as soon as she places them?
The downside is you get probably hit. Its just ridiculous to get locked in a direction you dont want to run. It just makes zero sense.

You can blink through anything. You need to fully clear it, though. If your blink landing point is inside whatever you're going through, even slightly, you'll just headbutt it and go nowhere.
I recommend the addon that shows where your blink will land. It'll hop to the other side when you've charged long enough.
Not everything. The maps endges cant be blinked through.

You can't facecamp with new monstrous shrine
You can. Just run Pain Resonance and DMS in addition to MS, so one gen theyre on gets regressed and blocked, so survs have to waste even more time. and if someone is stupid enough to go for a safe your 4k is pretty much guaranteed.

Cause nurse doesn't break pallets, doesn't really need to kick gens, and blink attacks don't follow standard M1 wiping rules (except that one time where she had the wipe into fatigue bug years ago). The only thing that buffs nurse (E: in chase) is the speed boost change.
Thats just a wrong logic. A nurse still kicks gens with Pop or overcharge or whatever. A nurse still kicks some pallets as you cant play them properly due to LoS-Blocker around. And if the cooldown on attack doesnt effect her, you probably didnt test it out to know, right? Its laughable to say she doesnt profit from those changes too.

False, the pallet breaking, gen kicking, and weapon swiping buffs do not buff Nurse, so no, the devs have displayed that they can buff killers in several ways without buffing nurse.
How does those changes not buff nurse?

Well if you can’t hit a single person that’s on you. I was just saying that Oni does get his power passively while Michael can not. I’m on team rework Michael to fit the new style of gameplay. Same with a few other killers.
So its the same if you kill a survivor you havent stalked. Its on you.
-
Anyone who states that the grind hasnt been lessened for newer players is just plainly wrong. Its not as much as for old players, but its a good amount easier now as you still have your perks after prestige and get the lesser grind of smaller bloodswebs instead of grinding through lvl50 bloodwebs all the time and get free perks on others for each p3 character.

@Seraphor said:

Oni doesn't punish you for killing the wrong survivor.
If you exhaust the evil from survivor A, then survivor B who hasn't been stalked appears in front of you, you can't kill them because doing so removes 1/4 of your power.
I dont know if you ever played Myers, but this situation is nearly impossible to happen. But whats wrong with having to manage your power resources? Ive never seen any serious Myer player complaining about this, cause it just doesnt happen.
-
@Witchubtet said:

Oni gains his passively on the side though. Unlike Michael.
So you will tell me that someone who cant hit anyone will last for 8,5 Minutes in this game until they get their power passively? Also at that point a myers already had his power several times. Youre completely ignoring what was talked about.
-
I never understood why a killer gets the most benefit out of universal BP offerings at all. Like, they are the ones responsible for how the game goes. If they play like a jerk, so survivors barely get any points but the killer gets tremendously rewarded for his bad play.
-
@humanbeing1704 said:
It's pretty dumb if you discount pig using her rbts I'm pretty sure myers is the only killer in the game that can permanently not have a power
If you run out of stalk, you did something seriously wrong, so whats the issue? Its like an Oni that cant hit anyone.

Don’t get me wrong, but things from the shop we could simply buy, there is nothing nearly a reward.
"simply buy" ... yeah sure. LOL
-
I would have liked to get the anniversary glitter effects for those characters. Its was obviously aplicable to licenced too, so why not give this to players? Or at least a shop-ticket for one outfit (excluding legendary) for each character. But instead we got something noone else can see that even looks really out of place. But at least we can turn it off.
-
Probably because everytime a dev talks about something other people are going to interpret it in their own way ignoring how it was meant.
-
They won't as they're still stuck in 2017 gamedesign.
-
How about NO?
-
So ever thought of just dropping down to the first floor the moment they would wiggle free, so they get staggered and you can down them on the first floor pretty easily? Not? Think about it.

no it's better for him to die on hook because if the killer get him through potential dead hard and BT, why would he get a free exit just by having ds ?
Maybe cause he used up his nearly his whole loadout, while killer just had to tunnel?
-
Why? Cause its consistent with every other perk the works the same way?
-
@Hilidaris said:
DS get deactivated in the EGC because you could litteraly end in a situation of someone getting downed and crawling to the door without the killer being able to pick him up.
So its better if the survivor dies on hook cause there is no possiblity to get him out?
