As much as I hated that combo and want to support you, but I hate claims like "an infant could beat a killer with that" or "any killer with 20 functional brain cells can 4k everytime" even more. Staaaaphhhh
So do you want me to say survivor second chances take skill???? Cuz they didn't. None of them do. In fact they reward failure.

My friend, you were not playing killer much before update.=)
I did. A lot. I play both sides a LOT. I've been playing since 2017

How much are Unbreakable and DS going to do for any given survivor if you just counterplay either? DS cannot fire if you don't tunnel. Unbreakable can't fire if you just pick up whoever you downed. If there's other survivors trying to distract you from picking up the UB user, good: It's a one use perk, and you've got at least half the survivors unable to work on gens for a prolonged period of time.
Dead Hard was a problem, sure, but after the conspicuous action nerf, DS purely functions as a counter to tunnelling, and Unbreakable functioned in support of that. If you're complaining about DS after the conspicuous action nerf, YOU are the problem, not DS.
Oh good god the good old "just don't tunnel 4head" argument. My dude there's a reason both perks are top tier. They buy time. Sometimes you have no choice but to tunnel. Survivors can FORCE that. The only reason dead hard came above them was the amount of times it could be used. But DS unbreakable alone bought so much time. Every second chance perk forced you to alter your objective so you didn't get punished.

the amount of second chances that survivors had
The game, at base, gives survivors three hookstates, and thus three chances. If you take issue with them having a second chance, that's very much a -you- problem.
Dead hard + Unbreakable + DS made a nearly game breaking combo that an infant could beat killers with. I'm sorry but if you think survivors NEEDED that many second chances then you are not the best. I don't wanna say rude stuff like that but that's simply the truth.

I play crossplay off solo q on PC. There is no way to know your MMR.
Also MMR doesn't work. Lol

Do you play high mmr soloq, or you never got there by any chance?=)
Killer was INSANELY stressfull before update on high mmr. Every single soloq survivors were running second chance perks, killer just couldn't phisically keep up with gen speed.
Are you sure about killer is easier than soloq? xD
All the killer was: Hoping for survivors to mess up, just for killer to have a chance of winning.
Solo q was always harder than killer. There's no denying that. Killer is the second hardest thing this game has to offer unless you're nurse.

What I meant to say was they don't exist anymore with a perk loadout filled with gen perks, which is what most killers are running now. Games easily surpass 5 minutes if your entire build consist of slowdowns.
Thats if survivors allow it. Most slowdown requires kicking gens now which a survivor can stop immediately. The slowdown this patch is only as strong as you let it be

I'm sure this was already said since the thread is 3 pages in, but if we want to generalize even further, we can say that this patch showed a lot about killers too.
"But man!!! We're FORCED to camp and tunnel, or play extremely meta builds, if we want to have a chance!!!!" Well what's your excuse now :l
I never said there were killers who didn't do that. They also have to get good. Y'all are missing the point. Regardless the patch came out a week or so ago. Players aren't gonna change their play styles instantly. however one side is crying a LOT more than the other

So without assuming too much because you are not specific enough.
What exactly was busted? Because arguably the only perk that was "busted" was Dead Hard. That isn't what people are complaining about.

Imagine calling people childish after posting that. At the sound of not offending all the younger players, I'll say if anything it shows YOUR own maturity level.
Other than dead hard? Holding W heal speeds (which still are busted), the amount of second chances that survivors had, medkits (which are still busted), gen speeds, decisive being able to be used at end game. There are plenty I can list. Also how am I being not mature? The get good argument is exactly the right call here. A lot of survivors are now saying to revert the patch because of killers being too strong.

So play like most of the killers, who tunnel, camp and slug at 5 gens.
Play like scum.
Nice to know you're one of main problems with this game.
I see the solo survivor main lol

This is wrong though
You're forgetting two things:
1) The survivor post-hit speed was nerfed, meaning Nurse, Blight and Spirit all gain benefits from this because their mobility focused powers are even more oppressive
2) Decisive strike, a perk that at 5s only barely slowed down Nurse/Blight now does literally nothing against them. A nurse and blight can basically tunnel someone from 1st to 3rd with little resistance. Off The Record helps but it's also telegraphed, a killer will always know if someone has it because of the built in Iron will. Grunts of pain = No off the record
Both points are wrong on your end as you're going against blight and nurse. You were dead at the start of the match to begin with. No amount of shift W or decisive strike is going to help that

Guys, please realize that this patch is MORE survivor sided than killer sided in their changes, there have been more killer nerfs than survivor nerfs in this patch. If we compare both we can clearly see that killer nerfs don't compensate for all the survivor nerfs. And the menu music is really nice, so waiting for a few minutes is not that bad for killer games. And survivors have their queues untouched, so we all win with this patch.
I can't tell if this is a joke. The patch was 90% killer sided

Personally I don't think you can play both sides equally, you 100% have to chose the prefer role.=)
Of course it isn't equal but I don't prefer a role. I love both the same especially now. Survivor is actually difficult and killer is just a little easier.

Sure, ignore all the basekit buffs killer got.
Someone please post the bart meme.
Yeah I'm ignoring the base kit killer buffs. Cuz that's not the problem here lmao. Killers needed a tiny buff like that. The problems in this game revolves around gens going too fast and holding W being way too good of a strat. The buffs on killer gave every other killer that isn't nurse or blight a fighting chance. In fact these buffs mean almost nothing to the top 2 killers. This was literally a buff to all lower tier killers.
-
@versacefeng said:
I don't know how you find 20 minute games balanced but.
There's no 20 minute games. Sorry but that's just you exaggerating. Yes legion with the 2% buff thanatophobia that isn't noticeable is annoying and 10 second longer gens is such a horrible time loss but really this game is the most balanced it has ever been. I've watched this game grow from creation and this is really a step in the right direction. It will take time to get used to though.
-
I mean, I play both sides equally. Not sure I can main one side if I play them both

Ah, then there is. I thought you were talking about the ones who've stopped playing DBD because of this patch. The ones who are ragequitting can go and fellate themselves.
That said, I do think there's issues with the patch. Either they need solo queue buffs and a change to how MMR works so that you aren't punished for altruism (the gameplay trends this is creating are not positive), or they need to expand on the 5s BT and weaken tunneling and camping now that killer is generally more viable.
Oh yeah solo q does need buffs. I'm not denying this. But the thing I want everyone to understand is that I'm talking about the players who are all crying to revert the patch. The devs wanted to give the power role more power and they did. The survivors who relied on second chances and dead hard all realized that they couldn't do it anymore so they're trying to cry again.

The reason the kill rates were so low was that survivor was busted for 6 long years.
Last time stats were released, kill rate was at 55%. The time before that, 68%.
Very low kill rates, yes.
They were low enough on the devs stats 🤷

Your entire post is generalising people who play the survivor role
You should be talking about ragequitters/people who give up themselves
This is like me making a thread called "Killers need to get good!" then going on to detail that certain killer players need to stop complaining about SWF because xyz
There is a lot of frustration going on and I'm sure that's why people are giving up/DCing more frequently but that doesn't mean it's the survivor role itself, it's a certain kind of survivor. People gave up and DCed before DH was nerfed.
I don't think you read everything in my post. I did end up specifying people disconnect to try and change the stats to get the devs to revert the patch

"Solo Q is ok if you dont care if you die". Wow, so helpful.
When did I say it was okay???? Don't put words into my mouth lmao. I said you can get good if you simply don't care.
-
@Laluzi said:
Yeah, sure, "I can barely get a single solo queue game without my teammates throwing and killer queue times are too long to switch roles" equates to "get good." That is definitely the problem here and everyone who's complaining is a biased bully survivor main who's never had a thought to actual game balance in their life. You're the only enlightened player who's ever played both sides equally and I bow to your unparalleled, all-encompassing fairness. Something something something.
I think there's some confusion. I'm talking about survivors who complain that killer is too strong now to the point of just disconnecting every game. I don't mean every survivor. Though alot are doing it. The survivors who want the patch reverted are the ones who need to "get good".
-
How am I generalizing??? A huge amount of survivors are disconnecting or dying early in droves
I'm not saying every survivor does this. But it certainly is a LOT considering it happens nearly every game I play killer in.
-
@Marigoria said:

Then how do you "get good" in solo q with this awful matchmaking?
You play selfishly or just don't care about the outcome. That's literally it. I get solo q is the hardest thing in dead by daylight but if you don't think solo q is possible then that's completely on you bud
-
@Marigoria said:
Play solo q more and humble yourself a bit.
I play only solo queue :) Very rarely do my friends and I get together for DbD. So try again please

"Gens are fine"
Yes of course 80 seconds is completely fine and the killer who has no map pressure should just play better. Meanwhile that killer gets looped to all hell no matter which survivor he chases. And HellCatJane, why is it such sacrilege for killers to complain about ONE thing on the survivor side meanwhile I see countless survivors complain about Spirit, Dying Light, Freddy, etc. when none of them are even close to broken. Spirit is just mind games but most survivors hate having to actually use their brain. "WHAT MY STUPIDLY LONG PALLET LOOPS THAT WORKS ON 80% OF THE KILLERS DOESN'T WORK ON SPIRIT?!?! BROKEN OP KILLER POWER NERF PLEASE THERE'S NO COUNTER PLAY" And I've seen so many complaints on Freddy's teleport, dream pallets, etc. It's really sad to see how survivors complain constantly about killers and nobody cares but the moment a killer raises a finger towards a legitimate problem then the entire community of survivors tries to shut them up. Do you guys ever wonder why there are SO MANY gen related perks? Maybe the devs even realize that gens get done too fast so they constantly pump out gen perks without actually nerfing gens. Because if they do nerf gens then the entire survivor community will scream and cry because they can't loop the killer for the whole game anymore. Killers with very little map pressure like Clown, Bubba, Pig, Wraith, Ghost Face etc. have to run ruin in order to do literally anything because they can't sprint across the map in 3 seconds. Then when they finally find someone they have to eat pallet after pallet after pallet and rinse and repeat until every single gen is done. Now will people that play those killers get games with potato survivors? Yes of course! It's inevitable. But a majority of games against non meta killers with little to no map pressure aren't fun and are way too tedious to even want to play.
If we nerf gen repair time along with every gen related perk for killer then the games will last longer (Which is what a lot of people want) and killers that are lower on the tier list can actually perform. As of right now I love this game. I think it's the most balanced that it's ever been except for gen repair time. That's the only thing I have a problem with. I'm not asking to nerf survivors and their perks at all. Just the real problem in the game.
