Killers receive much more bloodpoints than survivors.
Not true, they give out more Bloodpoints to whoever is more swag. It says a lot about your drip that you would say such a thing.

Interesting, you think the kill rates are "better" at high mmr? I always assumed they would be lower given people like Otz need to play like I do to 4k at those ranks.

By your logic, neither side is allowed to complain about balance issues ever again seeing as there's pretty much a 50% kill rate now.
Wouldn't that be great? Imagine a world where we didn't need to read NOED this, Boon that, Dead Hard deez, Lightborn is OP. I wish I could live to see that day.

The data all exists in the same dataset. It would literally take them 15 seconds. Filter FOR SSBM greater than or equal to 1800. Done.
Edit: Based on Nurses stats alone we know it should be SIGNIFICANTLY different.
Yeah, I imagine Nurse and Pig are like flipped. But beyond that, I do not have many guesses. I think Spirit is overrated, not sure if people still drone on about her being top 3 or not. Blight, I could see being way up there. Really safe guesses there besides my controversial Spirit take. My personal experience with high mmr is limited to Bubba and Freddy. I could see Leatherface staying about the same, I think Freddy drops like a brick.
The more I think about it, you are right, the list is likely drastically different. I guess this spread was the closest to everyone being 50% so they went with it? Maybe consistency from prior lists? No clue.

If there is one thing I learned from competitive games, mmr doesn't save you from the wrath of the potatoes. It just doesn't and never will. Even at the highest ranks. We are doomed for all eternity.

I am not even one of the types to complain about the dev stream, but I found this to be funny because it is true. The code was unironically the best part of the stream. Kind of yikes, but we will have better luck next time!

Played against a SWF streamer who brought RCPD + hook offering. 2 of them always ran to the same spot, knowing that I won't reach a hook from there. Slugging did nothing, because they both had Soulguard. One player disconnected and the only solo in the match was doing 4 gens alone. Because those 2 would never move away from that area.
I ended up tabbing out and watching the dev stream until this was over.
Later I searched the VoD of the streamer and he was making fun of it. Whole chat turned against him.
Do people really wonder why killers dodge TTVs?
Soul guard is so underrated... It is actually the main reason I run iron grasp/agitation. I respect it THAT much. But yeah, I get why people dodge them. I just don't bother because of what OP said, you just backfill into another one and I do not have the patience for that myself. I came from Overwatch to dodge long queues, I am basically allergic to them to the point where I didn't even want to do my survivor daily at all into being a survivor main during the day. I am that committed to the cause. I hate survivor mains with ever fiber of my being and even I have become one... I have no morals.
-
I played against a Demo on the Swamp with Devour. After I cleansed a hex, he started just shredding to hide that he still had Devour, not that it would matter, I checked all around and never found it anyways. Lol.
I was just doing some gimmick Furtive Chase hook challenge as Ghostface. Stealthily camping those hooks and chasing the new obsession. I only cared about my challenges. But this teabagging and clicking Feng was finna catch these hands. I stuck to the challenge in the end, and only vaguely regret not tunneling them out.
-
It is probably not different enough to merit making the chart outside of cleaning up outliers. I would be very interested too, though.

I do play chill. That's the thing, I don't camp or tunnel, and constantly use meme perks like unrelenting, spies from the shadows, and just all around meme builds. Like my basement only build that involves agitation and monstrous shrine where I'm only allowed to hook in the basement.
It's just that matchmaking is busted currently.
Either that or the TTVs are sus. It is not unheard of. Most of the ones I play against are so bad, bro. Meta builds on comms or not. Maybe you should just give them a chance? They might just surprise you. 😉
-
This is exactly what mmr is for. If you want to play against chill, you need to chill. You don't get to have your cake and eat it too, fam. Not anymore.

Cause killers would cry a river and several things had to be reworked.
They would shift the balance updates. It would be nothing but survivor nerfs and killer buffs patch after patch. The kill rates are basically above 2k average mostly because of altruistic survivors during end game. I think the game would be a lot more fun if the game did end when gens were complete just because killers would get so jacked to compensate.
-
I look forward to it next year. Maybe. I mean, by then I will have probably finished the grind. But all the new players will have a blast. Smile.
-
No offense intended, your build is terrible for facecamping. You do not need slow down or to trick them into believing you aren't facecamping. That is some gimmicky stuff for the memes.
I suggest NOED/Rancor depending on how ambitious you are to 4k. The rest doesn't matter too much. Bamboozle if you need help getting the first down. I personally run Agitation and Iron Grasp to counter sabo/altruism.
Your goal is to just down someone as soon as possible. Fake playing nice so they unhook early. Tunnel the person off hook. Eat decisive a$ap. This is where a lot of people go wrong and try to play around it. Don't waste your time. Get them out of the game and start looking for your Rancor target. NOED is the harder perk to use because they can still spam second chances and escape unless you play your cards right, so I recommend Rancor instead if you are only bringing one or the other as you can kill without needing to interact with anything else and they have no counter to it besides playing immersed. Combine the two to force them to look for NOED if they are cringe enough to stay. Remember you can slug to draw out the Rancor.

I am actually in the third grade, at the moment, however, I hope one day I will be more mature as those big middle schoolers are. I would refrain from calling me a kindergartener. That is very rude and not very mature, sir.

Well hopefully you learned your lesson, in the extremely rare chance that a survivor brings an entire build to do one, slightly useful thing, and gets lucky to have the perfect scenario play out, always go out of your way to make sure that action is denied.
It was like 3 seconds... I am not sure the scenario is as niche as you say. Most hooks are near pallets and he had literally no support to pull it off whatsoever. It is underrated as hell and I am glad most survivors are not intelligent enough to understand that hook denial is powerful, otherwise my games might actually be scary.

If I run the killer for 5 gens so all my teammates survive, that is skills and the killer lost 1-3. Problem is all survivors should get same amount of MMR points for a 3-1 win, but they don't.
You died to a killer so bad you ran him for 5 gens. If anything, I think you should lose 3 times the mmr and give it to the 3 that got away. Lul. At least they didn't die to that killer like you did.
-
I wish they would do the opposite and buff swf with some solo nerfs. I want to see what that would be like.

That's a different "solution" from what has been mentioned here.
And I am not a fan of boosting bloodpoints, that's not a solution to me, it's even more of a band-aid than removing perk tiers.
I do not see how reducing the grind is bad when our goal is to reduce the grind. Like, why are you opposed to it, is there a reason? Sure it is a "bandaid," but as long as it addresses the concern, the problem sort of ceases to exist. I am all down for an overhaul, but why we couldn't at least get more frequent blood point events is beyond me.
I personally do not mind the grind too much. My only personal issue is with the BP cap. It is obscenely low relative to our gains and how much your average bloodweb costs. But if the issue is that new players can't get their perks, I feel giving them more bloodpoints make sense. If anything, they are already doing that with more codes, the advent calendar... This event. It is just instead of a permanent fix, we get the BP in bursts.
-
The problem with "fixing solo" is that you can't fix bad players. Many have tried and all have failed. I am not against changes to make the experience better, but I think you are overlooking the obvious fact that most cringe teammates would still be cringe even with a dozen qol improvements.
-
@Rizzo said:
I think Peanits explained well the reasoning behind a more permanent rework here:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/4PPUGF37H2X8/image.png
I think focusing on a better system from the ground up is better than a temporary fix, especially if this band-aid would still require a good amount of work to get implemented.
Hopefully they will be able to share more information about it soon enough, I'm very curious to see what they have planned, as the grind is a big issue at the moment.
I mean, bumping the default bloodpoint gain to what it is during this event would not be too much work. It makes me somewhat skeptical that the workload is the problem...
-
That face when you understand the design intent better than the people who designed it. Very bold of you, but I reckon you are mistaken.
Look mmr is not a shiny reward or an indicator of skill. It is a matchmaking rating. Sorry, but better killers need to go against better survivors even if you happen to disagree with what that entails. It is for stability. The better the survivors, the better they should... Key word should, be able to handle killers playing properly.
And it barely works which is why they want to nerf face camping. They understand that even high mmr survivors are so bad that they can't figure it out. Hopefully whenever that happens you can go back to playing against 9 hook Huntresses... Probably not. But you can dream.
-
He is right. Try refuting him. You can't. Poggy woggy someone is a bit soggy.
-
Lol, maybe if you just did bones you wouldn't have to hold this L. Thanks developers for taking sides in this important argument about who needs to do bones.
-
It really doesn't. It takes someone like me to go up there and brutalize them whereas the 2 hookers thrive on having opponents who have no clue what they are doing. Works as intended.
-
If I had to make an educated guess... Probably some time around never.
-
Exactly, if I win with 3 hooks (rancor, baby!) I am literally so much better than that dog trash Nurse who only got eight hooks and was twerked on at the rave near the exit gate. We both get called bad after the game, only my survivors were delusional and dead. The ones telling the Nurse gg ez earned their w because they weren't afraid to win the game like that timid widdle Nurse role-player was.

There is no genuine comparison to make. It was such a silly analogy. You cannot compare a symmetrical team sport to an asymmetrical video game. In hockey, each teams are equal in terms of what they have available to play with and do, and each team is working toward the same goal to win. In DBD none of that is true. So comparing a team sport where each side tries to win by scoring goals, to a game where one side wins by escaping and the other wins by killing, is just silly. You might as well compare DBD and Mouse trap.
Who call bout rats? 👀

Yes, and that is the point of mmr. If they have a member who always loses, that swf needs accommodation. It is only fair.

Yes, it is the one to the left when you enter the bathroom. It is in that hallway that connects to our glorious basement.

Survivors throwing the game doesn't make DBD similar to Hockey. If professional Hockey players could just leave to win, they would. Only survivor mains would choose the opposite, dear friend. And I love them for it. Such creatures are beyond majestic and deserve all the protection in the world. Unfortunately it is my job to slaughter them. Quite the moral dilemma.

How is this reportable?
Bodyblocking the Gideon bathroom is extremely common and why wouldn't a Plague stand at the doorway to get THREE survivors fully infected + broken? If she then does nothing, you can do the gen and the door on the wall will open giving you a way out if the killer still stands in the doorway.
I see no issue here.
Behavior logic dictates that survivors holding the game hostage is a killer responsibility. And people say the game is killer sided despite literally bending over backwards, giving themselves spinal injuries to mental gymnastics their way through their fallible reasoning. Now you see the truth, calem.
-
That could still happen under the old system, and it did, when I was literally a baby killer. This is much better even if most killers can't hang with swf. Just lose until you get to a proper rank or git gud. You know? The game doesn't need to change to adapt to you. It is the other way around.
-
No thanks, I am fine with survivors having the same grind as killers.
-
And yet they never take me here. I guess maybe because there are another dozen maps they prefer... Sad.

As they said, it would be a band-aid fix. Something which the Community criticises the Devs for.
And, for me personally, removing Perk Tiers would remove a lot of excitement for new players. When I was new, getting Perks was the most exciting thing when leveling up my Characters. And if you remove Perk Tiers, you would run out of new Perks before you even have 4 Perk Slots unlocked.
So they should rather look at other solutions.
But I know the community will not understand it that the Devs dont want to remove Perk Tiers and will keep asking for it.
Yes, why use a bandaid solution asked for by the vast majority of people during these discussions when you can instead buy yourself another 6 months of time by saying you are looking for a "real" solution. It is quite genius really. I can agree with that.

It would likely be a survivor nerf as you usually have to respect BT anyways, but I doubt it would be 12 seconds basekit. Maybe it would got to 8. And that is really easy to play around for tunneling purposes. DS is WAY better which is why they aren't even vaguely considering it.

I will admit it is rng dependent. But I firmly believe he is one of the better basement killers in the game under the right circumstances. At the very least he is better than Pinhead. Rofl.

I normally feel mmr is fine hidden, but in this game, people prefer to derank and DON'T want to be high mmr. Showing it might actually be an incentive to play out the matches and encourage killers to want to camp and tunnel to actually prove they are better than your average schmuck.
