I rewatch the Q&A

They said they dont want to remove perk tier because its a temporary solution. Exept if they remove perk tier they remove 66% of the grind that mean the solution they gonna put will reduce more then 66% of the grind. So when they finally decide to reduce the grind it should be a huge reduction even if they do it in 2 year

Comments

  • I look forward to it next year. Maybe. I mean, by then I will have probably finished the grind. But all the new players will have a blast. Smile.

  • yeah their explanation makes no sense honestly since if they removed perk tiers it would take almost 15 years just to catch back up to the number of perks you have to buy right now to max out 1 killer and 1 survivor

  • There is no good reason for them to remove perk tiers.

A lot of players just play for the blood points. A lot of blood points go into unlocking perks. If they cut out 2/3rds of the blood webs you needed to go through to get your perks, bp would be a far lesser draw. Without an excuse to play for BP, people would start playing only for the win (which DbD is wildly not balanced enough to handle). When people don't get wins AND don't need the BP, they'd stop playing.

The grind is the game. Like it or not.

Regardless you're still going to need points to continue to get add ons and items that you want. From the comments some of the BHVR people have made on here since the Q&A, what they're working on is going to be a permanent reduction in grind. The only things I can think of that could make that possible would be scaling bloodpoint gains and caps every single patch to match how much the gridn increases, which seems like a lot of work and an unlikely choice, or making perks somehow shared between all survivors/killers.

I'm not sure Patrick understands words. Cutting the grind by a third IN PERPETUITY would not be temporary, it would be a solution that would continue to function unless they reversed it.

Also, why did Peanits act all weird about reading Otzdarva's name? Is he new?

    ..

  • This is honestly some faulty logic.

Removing perk tiers wouldn't be a temporary solution, because that would imply they would bring back perk tiers. Which doesn't make much sense to do.

I expect whatever solution wouldn't come close to cutting down the grind as removing perk tiers is.

Yeah that true when Peanits mention otzdarva he sound like he never heard the name but i think he was joking as the community menager he should know the name of the biggest streamer of the game and one of the fog whisperer.

  • "its only a temporary solution"

So then the solution is to do nothing at all?

I disagree I play the game because the game is fun, having a progression system is great to have don't get me wrong but BP is an awful progression system and just feels like it's built to make me want to stick only to a few killers and 1 maybe 2 survivors. The grind in this game doesn't feel rewarding only limiting. Plus I have multiple friends who quit because of the grind.

  • We are aware of horrible grind and will make less horrible in few years.

Meanwhile please enjoy week of +50% bp and 100k bp code that expires before you have time to log in the very next day.
